Are any of you into Gaia's Alchemy?
If so, is it worth getting into or is it just a waste of gold?
Any tips?

There is one item I wish I had the means to craft, though: The Worst Mistake. The item itself is absolutely grotesque ♥ and if one crafts it, you get the titles unholy and abomination. ❞

I sometimes make the alchemist catches, You make them out of crumpled papers or bugs so they only cost a few k to make and then whats inside is usually worth 100k plus. When they first released it i bought a couple of formulas thinking the items where cute but then realised you needed like 10 400k items in order to make a 1mil item!! totally not worth it, and hard to make money that way. I'm hoping once its been around for a few years the component prices will have dropped....

From what I've read (other people discussing it), most of the ingredients to craft things cost more than what the item itself is worth, even the rare items. So, maybe as something to do for fun.. if you don't care about your gold, but it isn't really a good way to make gold.

The concept interests me, but I was also curious about it so I looked around a bit.
What I found was the same thing as what Frantic found. XD;
So it's pretty much not worth it.. > . <
Also, there's some people who are level 1O willing to alch things for you~ As long as you pay for all the necessary items & such~
I do want to get level 1O then though! Just so I have it.. XD;

Alchemy is one of the biggest gold sinks Gaia has made to date. Here's why:
Some of the items, you need to forfeit items that are not cheap. Not to mention the items that are strictly for alchemy can be rather expensive if you're not lucky to get it in a cache. Then, once you get all the items, you have to spend more gold to preform the magic. There is always the chance you can fail, in which you lose the gold but at least keep the components. When you get to the higher level stuff, the chance of a success is low and the cost is high, so you could lose some major gold. When you're finished, you get an item. For the lower-leveled stuff, the item tends to be cheaper to buy on the MP then to make.
The only thing that might be appealing is that you get achievements for every level. I will admit, some have to be high level to make the stuff for us cheap people. I think there are enough of those out there now that it's not really worth doing it. I just got to level 3 for the heck of it.

Agreed, alchemy is not for profit. Disagreed, it is only for the rich and affluent. I did it for achievements, but for profit...no, it won't unless you can hustle.

I was kind of interested at first, but it is too hard to get started if you don't have gold coming out of your ears. I am still hoping that they come up with simplier and easier items to craft so people trying to get into alchemy can make some cool items and not get bored with alchemy and not bother with it. (like me xp )
