Remember that time when....Aymet has recently returned from the treasure trove of the titans with
Mnemosyne's Goblet of Recollections. The question now is, who's he going to try it out on?
YOUR CHARACTER PERHAPS???
I hope so!
SO HOW DOES IT WORK?? - Aymet activates the artifact and peaces out from the waking world for a while
- Target suddenly and vividly remembers a specific event*
- Aymet is awkwardly and noticeably a spectator in the background of target's memory.
- Target can realize at any point that their memory definitely did not include a dead guy in armor, interact with said guy, etc.
- In the case of people with stronger willpower, or any OOC need to prevent the passing along of sensitive information (esp relevant to hunters, let's blame it on the fear shields), the memory can glitch, skip, or even change via the target. Aymet can also be booted from a memory.
- Memory is not always super accurate! The target may not remember everything that was said in perfect detail, causing dialogue to fade out here and there. The look of a location, distances, peoples' features, sounds may be exaggerated dramatically. This is a memory, not the exact thing that went down from the POV of a video camera.
* Obviously this would be a problem if your character was vividly remembering something while they were driving, or dissipated, or sleeping, or performing brain surgery, but I think we can plot out a way to avoid the unusually awkward situations. IT'S POSSIBLE but for the sake of storytelling let's just assume we can time it better : (
HUNTERS! Aymet wants to see the origin of your deepest, darkest fears. The memories that haunt you. The people you've left behind or lost. Or even just events that have led you to question yourself. Bad, negative, scary stuff! Trainees & Intermediates only!
STUDENTS! Show him what's happened! Aymet can bring up the existence and purpose of the goblet to certain people, especially those who have had negative encounters with hunters, in order to get an idea of who the hunters are and what they did by seeing what went down via memory. The goblet can also be used to help someone remember something repressed or buried in their memory, to aid personal plots. Aymet can also abuse the goblet's power and go looking at memories even after being refused, or without asking in the first place, if a character doesn't want to share something but you do OOCly. Basically, whatever!
HORSEMEN! Do you...... want this to happen to your horseman? Let me know what you have in mind!
If you're interested, or if you have an idea that isn't listed here, please post and let me know! I'd love to plot something out.
