Misirable So i can't post stupid things by accident now?! o Ao this was from that free art thread i have somewhere in this forum. I kept remaking it since i'm frustrated (5th attempt atm). My art candle is burning out if you know what i mean o u o /art block atm if you see that *rolls around* thread got bump you can ask there
surprised You could always just edit the title and content of the post(s). Just say /Dead or something to imply you're not using it anymore. If I see someone doing that, I would delete it after a few days if I don't see any change to it. just don't leave the title blank - or else I won't be able to delete it. Bright side to that though, is nobody would be able to click on the thread to view it at all. Look through the threads on the main forum, and you'll find 2 such threads.
Downside, is your name will still remain there as the author, so people would know that you have done this.
D: I can't seem to find your art thread. You should put a link with a sample on your sig =3
and gotcha =(
One of my old cures to that was to paint/draw random nonsense on the screen, then try to make shapes out of them and see what I came up with. |

Misirable I still can't fly on my own " w")~ But then all i have is sleep and/or eating o Ao /notice on how eating is or? *shot* though i've been trying to make a short rpg game, but that still requires some pixel editing here and there o u o''' The story start with someone that looks like you comes into your house and steal your role (the main character) i don't know where to go from there though X3 /thinking of making players have to work with badguys to beat the imposter
Neat! Pixels, huh. Are you using RPG Maker? I used to play with the old 2000 version back when I was a kid. That engine was fuuuun to mess with * u*
I used to edit my own pixels, but I remember being sad that it didn't accept higher bit images. I still loved playing with the scripts and trying to get it to do things that didn't come default with the system. I've been wanting to buy the new one they currently have out now...but I can't justify my buying it T AT
It is pretty decently priced though.
/sorry ; u; I'm reminiscing. I ramble when I reminisce.
I'm liking what you have so far for the game idea! There have been a couple of games that I've been wanting to make, but I just never get around to doing anything about it, and the ones I have started, I sort of half-abandoned = n=
The only ones I've ever actually finished were for school, but I never really count those. I prefer personal projects! ^ u^
I really hope you keep going with yours! And I'd love to see the outcome ~
Scratch was another fun little pixel game engine to work with too. |

Misirable Yeap i used rpg maker vx. The new one was ace wasn't it? I'm still a newb at pixels so it's kinda hard X3 don't worry i ramble a lot myself Yea, i have quite a lot of ideas but my execution is kinda poor. I'm currently roaming through their forum to find script i can use /making script your own script is awful and confusing o 3 o maybe i should checked scratch out

They had cut down the price of ACE too last I saw, so I was more compelled to want to buy it. I downloaded the trial, but it expired before I even opened it = u= So I can't justify buying it if I'm never gonna get around to using it.
I used to have an old program that was specifically made to create RPG Maker pixels. It had a grid, where each square made up a pixel, so you could easily work out lets say a base template, and then just decorate the pixels to look like what you want .3.
I lost it though =(
Back when I used to use it, I don't think they had a website for it. Much less scripts I could grab. That would have been fantastic though!
The old RPG 2000 used ruby scripting, which is pretty simple. I didn't write code out from scratch, cause I don't know ruby commands, but I would make simple edits to their scripts at first, and then explore further on how to make them more complex.
Scratch is a very interesting one! You do have to script, buuuuut you don't have to write the scripts. Each script is built like a lego block, and all you do is piece them together to get your results. It was created to introduce children to scripting, but nothing adults can't use too ~ We used it in one of our classes in college to introduce us to 3D engine scripting...I can't say that really helped, but it was fun to use!
Just create your graphics in another program, like Paint or Photoshop, then import it into Scratch. Their own graphic editor kinda sucks, but is useful for dumb graphics, like circles and other simple things. L i n k |

Misirable Buy it for Chirstmas >;3 /shot they still are using the ruby scripting my mind often just crash at a wall of text. But i did made a character for this fighting game engine called mugen before, so i should be able to do simplistic things in rpg maker o u o origin users have it hard like always o Ao /save scratch for when boredom strike
; u; I still can't justify it. I have Corel Painter 12 on my Christmas wishlist already, which I would prefer and use more often.
I thought they might still be using that! I believe I used to use the software's help menu to help me script too. In the 2000 one I had, the help menu had something regarding them I think. I don't remember what exactly anymore D: But I remember referring to it often.
Ahhh I remember Mugen xD I never used it, but I remember people talking about it long ago. I believe a class mate in college used to use it to create his fandom characters and make them fight.
origin users? Do you mean like, original artists? Cause if so, then yea. Takes decent time to sharpen up any project ; u;

Misirable Now that you mentioned it, i should've got photoshop when i went shopping last month /shot (can't find it for some reason though) Well everything seemed hard when you first look at it, but in the end you would notice the formula and it'll be easy o u o origin users as in, err people who first bought the program. Having no one to reference to is kinda hard right? ; u ;
Dx Ahh yea! Starting off with no tutorials or guidance from previous people with experience is always hard. Definitely!
Are you looking to buy Photoshop in person at a store? or is online an option? |
