	Her first attempt at the course had been a failure. But She was not allowed to leave until she passed. If students could do it, so could she. Even with the extra rules placed upon her. It was not only a matter of personal pride, but it was a matter that this was yet another skill to master, a thing she was to learn and better herself by. At Invictus’s task managing or not, she was not going to allow herself to be deterred by such a single failure. She had to complete it at least once. After all, if she did, then ha on him. Though doubtlessly he’d have her continue the course until her successes outnumbered her failures. Such was the way.

	Her first way into her cousin’s course, and everything was going rather smoothly. Perhaps her harsh failure the first time had taught her her lesson in pride. Or rather, a lesson in it. That lesson was lost on Lan as she quickly found a safe zone, yet the feeling of a stare, to move had her pressing onward.

	A deep breath, she was trying to be mindful of where she had seen debris, of this and that path, of the tea and kettle on her head. Different parts of a whole, Lan would need to move swiftly yet carefully. A single trinket grabbed it was a start.

	A second trinket followed the first, but it would not suffice. Invictus wanted 15. This was not even a third. She would have to keep moving pressing onward.

	The first crack of a leaf underfoot, the chime of little followers arriving. Her scowl as it arrived. It would leave soon… hopefully.

	A fourth, she pressed on. She was close to a third done with her cousin’s course. His additional rules be damned.

	In her haste, or perhaps her feeling that she was getting better, a branch broke underfoot, the chime of a follower arriving. She cursed herself for getting to cocky.

	Another came and she looked around. She was safe for now, but not for long.

	Reaching out, the little noise maked was wrapped under her sleeves, muffled. A light crunch unheard with her hands, she bent down, placing the the thing on the ground without a sound. She would not be delayed further.

	A fifth trinket, Lan smirked. One third down, yet still not half. She had a ways to go. If her luck held out. If. A large if at that.

	A sixth Fear trinket, Lan looked around her eyes darting in the trees. Keep moving she told herself. Lingering would do her no good. To linger was to be seen.

	Eight, she was slowly making her way closer to her goal but seven was still a long ways off. Half way and she’s messed up a few times already. Invictus would no doubt be displeased in general but- She would press on.
