I read that the Sandy Hook school is open again and that kids are nervous to go back. I know the school shouldn't close for the reminder of the year, but I feel like going back to school after the standard weekend was just a bit too soon for those little ones.
Especially since like right after the event you got talk shows giving interviews. I feel like all of this is happening too fast. School is open again after the removal of bodies and blood and damage and now interviews left and right.
Don't know if I could do that.

Seriously? They're back in class? I would have thought they would have tacked days at the end of the school year to help out the kids. I mean, they're really young!

I saw an article about it on MSN, but a few hours later I heard on the news that the school was closed indefinitely. Now I'm hellbent on finding that article. I probably read it wrong.

Found it!
http://news.msn.com/us/educators-on-edge-as-students-nervously-return-to-class
It sounds like the schools around that one are still open and the students attending those schools are nervous of going.
Yeah I did read it wrong. emotion_facepalm
But it seems like everyone around that area is on edge as some school went into lockdown the minute they saw strange people around the area.

I'm glad those kids get more time to recupe. I can't imagine being in their position, having to jump back into class with a huge lack of presence that they're not used to. They'll have to grow up and deal with this for long time if they stay in town all the way through high school. Unbelievable...

Right now people are wondering if the school is even going to be standing or not.
http://news.msn.com/us/deciding-the-fate-of-massacre-site-can-help-healing
There is talk about destroying the whole school or just the section of it where the shooting took place and then they are talking about memorials as well.
I think it's a bit extreme to tear the school down though.

If that school is open again, I'd be really shocked! Personally, I think the entire city should just close the schools and give the kids an early break, because those kids would've gotten quite a scare! I was freaked out, and I live in a different country! Plus, it's only a week, nothing big.
Like, in all seriousness, if I were a parent, I wouldn't be too happy about my kids going off to school after such a massacre.

Not to mention they won't be going next week anyways since it's Xmas so yeah I agree they should close the schools. At least for the rest of this year anyways.
