NAME OF CLASS: First Aid 101
PROFESSOR NAME: Professor Cricket

General information: A general overview on basic illnesses a student might run into, as well as symptoms and quick fixes to things like breaks and deep cuts while on the go!

Each student is given a dummy to work on, though they may choose to partner up in fixing it.

Mechanics:
Roll 1 20-sided dice, what you roll is what your student gets to work with...

Dice Rolls and What they Mean!
1-4 - Broken Bone
4-8 - Fever
9-12 - Heat Stroke
13-16 - Hypothermia
17-20 - Lack of Bodily Function (such as breathing, pulse, etc) - this is unnaturally so.

After this, please roll 4, 4-sided Dice. Take into account their total and any repeating numbers

Total Results and their Meaning

1-6 - You do a rather poor job patching up your dummy, you might not want to try and heal anybody anytime soon!
7-12 - You do an average job, nothing extraordinary, but passable!
12-16 - Extra good work! Your student can now heal surface wounds!, but not repair HP! This means things like cuts and bleeding that might hinder another character can be patched up!

What Repeating Numbers Mean

No Repeating Numbers - You used just the right amount of supplies, good for you! Not wasteful at all.
Repeating 1s or 2s - You didn't use enough supplies, that's rather lazy and Cricket obviously disapproves of it.
Repeating 3s or 4s - You used too many supplies and that's wasteful! Naughty! Cricket might make you earn your supply rights back in a future class!

If you work as a group, split up the dice between yourselves as evenly as possible. So if you're paired up, each person rolls a 10 sided dice and you add up the results to get your dummy!

Then you split up your 4 sided dice to work on fixing it up!

Bonus Mechanics:
For every 3 times you attempt this course, your student may add +1 to their 4d4 dice roll's total to improve how well they patched up the dummy.

YOU LOSE/FINISH THIS CLASS WHEN...

- You are finished rolling both sets of dice and rping out the results. That means you have to make ANOTHER rp to try again!

There didn't seem to be any open group classes that Arachne could sign up for that interested her; obviously she had returned to school at a time when they were either finishing or already full and not allowing new sign-ups. She'd heard that she could take 'open classes' on her own though and it was into one of these that entered, her gaze flicking over to Professor Cricket as she entered.

She headed over to where the dummys stood in eerie rows and picked one. Her dummy seemed to come to some sort of life under her hand as she tapped it, and then writhed around as if it couldn't breathe.

'Okay, what do I do now?' she flipped to the book she'd picked up on basic first aid techniques, glad she was practising on a dummy as a fellow student would have expired by now.

There was a few paragraphs on rescusitation and so she moved the dummy on the floor so she could administer it, checking back every now and then to make sure she was pushing in the right spot on the chest and at the right rhythm.

Apparently she'd done something right, it stopped making weird gaspy noises, but only just, and she was also embarrassed to discover that she should have attempted to use some smelling salts or herbs in case it had just fainted, or if in battle it was actually a student that didn't have a pulse, and wasn't meant to have one.

She scuttled out of the class, vowing to return the next day and do better than passable

The next morning Arachne turned up at the classroom bright and early, hoping to do better and also that no one else would be going through their own lesson.
It seemed quiet enough when she peeked around the door and so she went inside, once more picking a dummy to practice on.

This time the dummy became clammy and warm to the touch, a fever this time?

She's done her homework this time, spending a while going through the book to swot up on as much of the basics as she could. She remembered something about fevers, and went to wet and apply a cold cloth on the head of the feverish dummy.

The symptoms seemed to lessen a bit under her ministrations, but once again she'd not used enough supplies and had dripped water everywhere by carrying the cloth straight from tap to dummy and not using a bowl.

Again she left the class annoyed with only being passable at First Aid.

The next day saw Arachne turn up again, slightly frustrated that she couldn't master what should be basics but determined to do so no matter how long it took.

Again, she picked a dummy, and this time a horrid cracking noise issued from it and one leg moved in a very unnatural way - a broken limb.

'Set it and splint it?' Arachne tapped her chin as she regarded the twisted limb; even though it was only on the dummy, it made her tummy quite queasy and she busied herself trying to fix it

Once again, she sat back, looking at her handywork. It was a passable splint job, but she'd not tightened the bandages around the wooden stick enough and it flopped on the leg. But, this time she'd used exactly the right amount of supplies and had a little nod from Professor Cricket.

She still wasn't happy with her skill level though and would return, despite being bolstered by her correct usage of the supplies.

Determined to properly improve her First Aid skill, Arachne decided to return to class until she felt that she had knowledge and skills enough to make a difference to someone during battle.
This time the dummy she picked stayed motionless, and she poked it gingerly, trying to find some sort of life signs.

'Hmm..' she pondered. It was kind of exhibiting the same symptoms as the very first time she'd done this open class and she frowned. What was she supposed to do?

She went for a sort of poking and prodding and eventually the dummy seemed to move, as if she'd stirred a sleeping beast. She was probably meant to use some sort of instrument but that had kinda worked? Passable attempt again..

'Here I go again.' the ghoul mused as she entered the classroom for the fifth time. She hoped that she would see some little improvement soon. She winced as the dummy's arm snapped upwards, making a terrible noise.

'Yay, broken bone again.' she said, with more enthusiasm than she felt.

'Okay, set, bind and sling this time.' she said to herself after a quick riffle through the pages of her trusty first aid book.
This time she set it okay, bandaged it with one single strip and hoisted the limb into a very tight sling, not having used a large enough piece of material for it.
Stepping back to check her work she shook her head ruefully.

'I am never going to be better than a pass at this rate.' she grumbled.

Back again. She was sure she would wear a path in the hallway, or that Professor Cricket would start making small comments if she turned up much more.
Her dummy presented as feverish, and she remembered that from the last time, so she hoped for luck and to do better.

'Okay..damp cloth on forehead, and wrists for cooling.' she said to herself, going and getting it, but once again forgetting a bowl and slopping water over the floor. She couldn't believe it! Pass again but not good enough, or not good enough in her eyes.

And again; she was starting to have dreams about this class, where all the First Aid dummys came to life and chased her around the school grounds. Not fun.
At least it was familiar symptoms, though she'd had only middling luck treating the fevers properly.

This time she managed to get her clothes wet and the dummy, as once more she passed but didn't use enough supplies.
She scuttled from the class to changed, vexed at her problems with getting anything right.
