guess what im getting back into? i havent picked up a bow in 10 years since when i just started highschool.
hubby and i found a great redneck store near us. they sell guns, bows, and fishing stuff, its better than bass pro shop! its a amsall store but they have people who know what they are talking about and care than we use the right stuff, which is great because i can hardly remember anything about archery other than i love it.
well hubby and i each got a recurve and we got some arrows, we got to try the indoor range for free since we just purchased the bows from them. im out of practice but im way better with a bow than i am a gun, i had some decent grouping and even hit the bullseye once. not bad for not touching a bow for 10 years.
also my bow is a patheticly weak little 26lbs draw. i still have high hopes that one day i will be strong enough to use my dad's old bow that is 45lbs, but until then i am happy with my new bow
and march 7th hubby and i will be taking the safety course at the park which is right down the road so we will be able to do archery there without driving more than 10 minutes.

Um, maybe it's not the same. But as far as Quebec in Canada is concerned. It goes brownies, cubs, scouts, depending on age. Girls didn't USE to be allowed I think...But like, I guess they decided it was kind of sexist so it's not BOY scouts it's, Cub Scouts and when I was a kid, they had started allowing girls but, I think I was the only girl in my group. Province wide there were more so at camp there'd be a few of us. And there were female leaders too. Girl Guides is still strickly girls. And I've been told that not all groups are as lame as mine was. That you are suppose to learn outdoor skills and such. But I still think the whole philosophy and outlook in scouts was just better. In Guides our day was planned to the minute. In scouts we had some activities but...they also just let us roam the camp and stuff. Plus the activities were so much better. Scuba diving, rock climbing, archery etc etc. Guides was baking, ironing. LAME LAME LAME and omg so sexist!!!
