Duel Academy.

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Duel Academy, School of Duel Monster. If you choose to accept you will be given a pass to enter the test exams to be placed in your dormitory within the academy. The three dormitories are as followed: Slifer Red, Ra Yellow, and Obelisk Blue. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary equipment.

Term begins on 1 September. We await your answer by no later than 31 July.

Rules of the rp

- Follow all of Gaia’s rules in the ToS and Rules and Guidelines.

- Drama, coercion, harassment, and rudeness are unacceptable. Remember this is suppose to be fun for all.

- When you wish to talk out of character (ooc), please use a form of brackets to show others. Ex: ((Hey, I’m gonna log off now. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.)) )

- This is a Semi-Lit to Lit roleplay (3 sentences minimum).

- Stay in character. Do not godmod. That means taking control of another’s character or forcing them to do something with their character without giving them a chance to post. You must respect other roleplayers

- First-person roleplaying is not accepted in the guild (e.g. “I went towards the professor”. Using ‘I’, ‘me’, etc.). Use third person (e.g. “Linda walked towards the professor”). Also post in past tense (e.g. instead of posting, "She walks to the wall", we ask that you write, "She walked to the wall").

- Send your profiles to me. Don't post them up.

- Send me a heart so I know you read the rules.

Systems

- Since Yu-gi-oh! is a card game and card games are hard to rp without cheating I'd like everyone who wishes to duel an account on Dueling Network. Its a handy site that allows you to make your deck and play with others online. Its not perfect but its the best we know of. If you do not know how to play but still would like to try I myself or one of my selected crew will happily teach you all we know of the Yu-gi-oh! card game.

- If you want to have a duel with someone be sure to please tell one of the crew about it to oversee the match to make sure everything is fair. If you can not reach one of us you can also make records of the duel and send it in through PM and then you and your opponent can rp the match out for the dramatics.

-Day cycle
A day in rp time is about a week normal time with three days the start of one class Monday to Wednesday three for second class Thursday to Saturday and Sunday night time.

Dorms

Slifer Red


Slifer Red, is the lowest-ranked of the three dorms at Duel Academy.
The students, save for a select few are categorized as being the weakest Duelists among the dorms, having very weak decks and poor strategies which cause them to lose most of the time. In some cases students from this dorm have never won a Duel at all and drop out.

Slifer Red has the worst dorm and the least to no privileges out of the three dorms. Their welcoming feast was a small tray of rice, sardines and sauces held in a small dining hall.

The state of the dorm is likely designed as incentive for residents to either try advancing to a higher dorm and acquire a better standard of living or leaving the school.

Uniform

The students wear a jacket that usually extends to the waist. The Jacket has a band which matches the color of the jacket at the cuffs of the arms. The jacket also has a white band around the shoulders that has a snap or button to keep the jacket closed and another band which also matches the color of the jacket wraps around the bottom of the jacket which also serves the purpose of keeping the jacket closed. There is a white decorative shape with a darker red border on the chest of the jacket.

Some second-year (or higher) Slifer Red students wear a different colored jacket, a version whose main color is white instead of red. Just like the previous jacket it usually extends to the waist. The jacket has a band which matches the color of the jacket at the cuffs of the arms. The jacket also has a red band around the shoulders that has a snap or button to keep the jacket closed, and another red band that wraps around the bottom of the jacket to keep the jacket closed. There is a decorative shape with a darker red border on the chest of the jacket.

Ra Yellow

The Ra Yellow dorm is where the middle ranked students live for their duration at Duel Academy. Students in Ra Yellow either achieved excellent scores in their Duel Academy Entrance Exams, moved up from Slifer Red, or down from Obelisk Blue. The accommodations in Ra Yellow are much better than Slifer Red's but not as good as Obelisk Blue's.

The Ra Yellow students wear a yellow jacket that extends to the waist. The jacket has a white band at the cuffs of the arms. The jacket also has a white band around the shoulders and has a snap or a button to keep the jacket closed. There is a white decorative shape with a brown border on the chest of the jacket. The collar of the jacket usually sticks straight up and is also yellow with a brown border. Another band, which matches the color of the jacket, wraps around the bottom of the jacket and has a snap or button to keep the jacket closed.

Obelisk Blue

Obelisk Blue is the highest of the three dormitories at Duel Academy. The reason for its superiority over the other two dorms goes back to the fact Seto Kaiba is the owner of this school, and that he possessed "Obelisk the Tormentor" during Battle City.
The dorm is mostly made up of students who have connections and are rich. Luxurious interior design, high-quality rooming, and finer food are offered to the students who reside here. In order to start in Obelisk Blue, upon enrollment, not only does one needs to have high grades in the written examination, but they also need to have earned a diploma from another duelist prep school.

Uniforms

The Obelisk Blue students are identified usually by blue long-tailed jackets with white trimmings, unlike the Ra Yellow and Slifer Red students, whose uniform jackets are shorter in length. However, there are variations on this jacket,
The most common variant are white jackets with blue trimmings (basically an inverted version of the standard male uniform). This version is supposed to be worn by second-years or higher.
For females, the typical Obelisk Blue attire consists of a white top with blue trimming, a blue miniskirt, and royal blue boots. However, a few students wear different outfits with their Obelisk vests

Tom Kite was an orphan who's mother died giving birth to him. He was a lonely child his only friend was a 'imaginary' rabbit that he could see. He could see other monster's that no one else could but when he mentioned them he was shunned by the others his age so he did not have many friends. he showed a real talent as a duelist even beating some regional champions, enough so that he was given a home in the duelist academy where his skills can grow. She is very friendly but has a hard time making friends because she is a Slifer. She does, however, have one card she holds dear. It is a Kuriboh card. It was her father's first card and he gave it to her before he passed away. She keeps it in a protective locket-like necklace. She's not sure why it's so special but she loves it and it is even her spirit partner. She also likes to listen to all kinds of music and swim when she has time off.

Seth came to Duel Academy after a career-ending crash during a Turbo Duel. He survived to duel another day, but he found he was no longer relevant to the sport. So rather than throw a tantrum and drink his pain away. He got a job teaching, he figured he'd take things a little slower now. However, since he was new, and due to the mysterious disappearance (the dude got lost in the woods, but everyone embellished it until the guy resigned) of the last Professor, Seth has had to take over as head of the Slifer Dorm, adding more to the humiliation of those he beats.

A kid who believes that fortune favors the brave. So he throws all his chances to luck no mater what it is. Even in the entry exams he rolled dice to guess the answers and let Lady Luck place place him in the right spot. Somehow Luck was on his side and he passed the written exams barely though and then came the dueling exam and thanks to Luck and a bit of skill he manage to win the duel vs the examiner. ~Shayna wasn't much of a player to be honest. She preferred looking at the cards and drawing the pictures. She did the same with a bunch of other card games. When her father left her mother and her, a mysterious voice kept her comforted whenever she was sad. When she was twelve her mother just never came home. She didn't understand as to why, but the voice kept her calm and out of trouble. She soon returned to dueling, but not much as she didn't feel she was any good. But her mysterious friend said she was great, and she believed him. At the age of fourteen, the voice showed itself to her as her spirit partner Armed Dragon LV 3. She had refused this information at first but couldn't deny it. When people started showing up looking for her, he kept her safe by telling her where and when to hide and not hide. When she was finally caught she was old enough to be on her own and was sent to the academy.~

Maya grew up on books, rather than cards. Her strengths were in theory and concepts more than heart and chance. Her small collection of cards coupled with her theories kept her ahead of the people around her. Though her family was quite rich, she found most of the cards that she got as gifts unhelpful in her studies. And most of her cards were traded away or sold to obtain the few cards she wanted. With her acceptance into the academy, she was given a large collection gift, which she was able to choose the cards instead of just being given them. The result, a much larger collection. Though technically a spoiled rich girl, she is quite down to earth and doesn't mention her family wealth to people.

Mashira originally never wanted anything to do with duel monsters, perfectly content with her life as a rich heiress, then she began to hear whispers, and desires that she wasn't sure were entirely hers. She eventually learned who exactly was whispering thoughts of destruction into her ears, a spirit that had chosen her to bring about his coming. She denied this for a while, but finally found an outlet that would let her act out on those desires without actually bringing about armageddon, and while Duel Monsters is an outlet that Demise will accept for now, she doesn't know how long she herself can hold out on bringing about the end of the world herself.

Once a woman who with her sister had battled in underground dueling rings for there pay. But one battle the two faced something they they did not expect someone seemingly clocked in darkness. The two lost and Annie swore she could really feel the cards attack her. She could not remember much after that she woke up months later in a hospital bed covered in scars and no memory on how she got them. She also had no idea where her sister was. She had not been seen since the day they faced the man. Annie searched high and low for her sister but could not find her. It was only when she got a letter with just her name written on the envelope. Inside she was told to go to duel academy and then she will meet her sister again.

A Transfer Student from Germany, he's from a noble family of duelists. Christoph has always had a revelry with his older brother who has inherited his family's Rare cards. His own deck was not something to sneer at but he wanted the cards his brother has, manly the black rose dragon. Chistoph left his family to get better as a duelist to beat his brother and lay claim his cards. His travels lead him to duel academy.

Up until a year ago Arthur had no interest in dueling. He had wanted to be a football player but one day during a very impotent game for his carrier he was tackled just the wrong way and his knee was bad broken to the point that he could barely use it. He was in a fit of depression thinking he could never walk again let alone be any worth. It was not till he met a man who's entire lower half of his body was paralyzed came to visit him. He started to teach Arthur how to duel and more impotently how to not give in even when life seems hopeless. As he started to do better at dueling he pushed himself harder in physio till he can make good use of his legs. Not as well as he could but well enough to walk. He thanked the man and told him to keep an eye out for him on the dueling Pro Leagues. And with that he went to dueling academy to learn all he could and make it to the Pro Leagues.

Elton Sturgess waited on the Duel Academy harbor waiting for the new students to show up why did he have to be the one waiting for the ship come. Where are all the other teachers anyway and they call him the lazy one. He looked up as the ship came finally. He gave a small wave said "Freshmen to me."

Molly was nervous as she got off the boat. She was afraid of the other duelists and had even been picked on a bit by some of the other students when they found out she didn't have a deck or duel disk. She walked up to the teacher but stayed behind a bit with her Pink Sheep Token backpack.

Arika stepped off the boat, trying to ignore the building headache caused by the antics of her two companions. Several people had tried to challenge her to duels, all of which she declined much to her companions displeasure. They floated around her with disapproving looks as she approaches the teacher.

Tommy ran off the boat happy to be at the duel academy his new home. He was so happy he was not looking where he was going and slammed into the butt of a girl with a pink sheep token backpack and fell. "Owwie"

Molly blushed deeply and stiffened up with a squeak. She turned around and saw a young boy on the ground. "Oh my, are you alright?" she asked with a worried look and knelt beside him.

Arika glanced over at the kid on the ground, an eyebrow quirking up a bit. "You shouldn't run when there's a lot of people around you.", she said, sounding rather bored and uncaring.
