A very formal, very elegantly written note was left on a handful of doors, to be found on Friday morning. In the letter, each recipient was formally invited to attend their detention; it was written like a wedding invitation, complete with calligraphic writing and a tiny little white sheath of paper atop the invitation that served little to no purpose. The invite stated simply the date, time, place of attendance, and what they were to bring and wear as instruction.
When the students arrived that morning, the sun hadn't yet risen. Selene, however, looked awake and ready to take on the day. At least, she might have.. it was hard to see her under the giant turban that she wore, covering her entire head and sliding down until she looked as though she was being eaten by it. She kept trying to push it off of her face, but every time she did, it slipped right back down over her eyes. Otherwise, she was dressed the same as usual, in a one shoulder strapped white sarong and sandals.
And she was sitting on a camel.
Actually, she was sitting on one of many heacamels, who were all grazing nearby off the scant grass that grew along the gates. Detention apparently included a camel ride for these particular students, among other things.
Quote: IF I FORGOT SOMEONE, like if Selene gave you detention and you're not being quoted here just PM me and I'll add you, my memory is horrible ;;

Hel never had detention her entire time here at Amityville! Though secretly, she couldn’t help but wonder why she didn’t get any sooner. She really wasn’t that sneaky so…
Oh well.
She would be miffed though upon receiving that way too fancy invitation, and then complain loudly about it being ALL WEEKEND WHY (was that even lawful?), but she’d show up, because she was trying to turn over a new leaf and she wanted her slate 'clean'. The wingless valkyrie showed up bright, early, and oddly enough, alert with her hair pulled back and dressed for warm weather, shouldering her bag. Her expression was flat as she regarded Selene and the camels.
Yanno…she said she wanted a class with the professor…not a detention.
“Why am I here, exactly?” She couldn’t help but ask. She needed to know what she got busted for.

The sound of a student's voice made Selene gasp with delight, and she turned her camel around so that she (and it) could face the student in question. "Ah, hello, hello!" Her soft, almost whispery-voice cried out. "How lovely to see you! Your name is Hel, am I correct? I remember talking to you on the Critter!" The camel chewed slowly, looking as if it was threatening to spit in Hel's direction any minute now. If she moved, it's head would move with her. Camels were vicious beasts. Selene reined it in slightly, and patted its head. "Come come, pick a nice camel and get situated, we've got a lot of ground to cover!" She offered the same thing to Tybalt, as he came closer. But Hel's question remained unanswered, until now. She smiled a sweet, sweet smile at the ghoul. "And darkling, might I give you just the smallest word of advice? I've come to truly believe that the only thing that should be hung up on flagpoles.. are flags."
She unhooked a camel rein, and threw one over to Tybalt. He had all of his attention now. "Silly! I said dress for warm weather! Not dress warmly! But if you can't feel heat, you're entirely in luck! Because oh, there will be ever so much of it!" She giggled childishly, covering her lips with her fingertips as if she'd just told the most scandalous joke.
Quote: WE BEGIN AGAIN! Welcome to your detention, everyone! We will begin moving tomorrow night, so take this time to make your entrance posts! All I require from you is a minimum of one post every 24 hours, please! Obviously you can do more, and interaction with Selene is welcome - and encouraged! HAVE FUN!

Tybalt gave a careless shrug.
"Ah well, cold or hot. It doesn't really make a difference for me." Now he beamed at the others as if he was silently saying 'sucks to be you though.'
However, the idea of riding a camel... he wasn't so sure he was fond of this idea.
But eventually, the camel was soon forgotten, because shortly after, Hel was talking to him. Her words which caused Tybalt's fur to bristle ever so slightly.
"Dude! I wasn't the one walking into the other librarian. I was a-okay, up until said librarian happened upon the little gathering. Besides, you were there so you knew that they weren't even mine! Not my fault that dumb-a** Hayden framed us all. Lost books my a**!" Now he crossed his arms over his chest. "But if we're going to point fingers at each other--at least I wasn't the one who tried to bribe a staff member for porn magazines. What do you have now, Enzo, three detention slips? Four?" He asked, grinning. Oh yes, he remembered that incident, and he wasn't going to let you live it down. Of course, it didn't seem to bother the black dog that he helped get Enzo the first one either.
Selene's call was returned with--
"Uhhh... Not yet." To be honest, he was still trying to figure out how to even get on the creature. Freaking tall creature at that.
"Hah! See!" He spun around to point at Hel when she brought up the fact that they were framed. "Told ya! I'm totally innocent!"

Selene paused in her riding when she heard Tybalt's call, and she slowly turned her camel around, pulling her hood back just enough to get a look at him. "Well, tut tut! Just put your foot in the saddle and hop on, dear boil! We are running very late."
Considering the sun was juuust peeking up over the horizon, that sounded hard to believe.
She pulled out a very old, very large map, and started to hold it up to the horizon. "We've got about.. 8 hours of travelling in this general direction. Then we will take a little break! I have some water, but I warn you - this part of the trip isn't the hot part. So save up! Oh, and before I forget.. each hour we will stop for a few minutes, so please feel free to take these little notebooks and pencils, and write about your experience! Just a little journaling, yes? A log of your experience!"
She started to walk back, handing each of them a water cannister, a notebook, and a pencil, before heading out again. She whistled happily as her camel trotted off.
Wait a minute.
....8 hours?!
Detention Part One: THE JOURNEY It looks like your detention's going to be a lot more boring than you'd hoped.. or is it? Either way, 8 hours on a camel is going to take a toll on your well being. Hope you had a good breakfast. -- You can do this first part in one of several ways. You need to roll 8d8. You can roll them all together, and roleplay the hour in separate parts of one post, or you can roll each dice separately and make a new post for each hour. Fortunately, you won't need to actually write roleplay - these posts should be in journal format! And they can be as long or as short as you want. Have fun with it! If all your character feels like writing for one day is "I HATE CAMELS." That is a legitimate post! Do not feel pressured to make it any particular length, just enjoy the experience of trying to write as your character would. If you wish to log the reaction of an interaction with any of the students involved, please contact them and discuss! OOC plotting of what happened during those hours is always encouraged - and of course you may include Selene in that as well. But keep in mind! If any of your posts rolls a 1, your character took a sip of water. There's only 8 sips in your canteen. And you'll need them later. Good luck!
Astaraei This is the last chance Zev has for sneaking into the detention before it closes!

Hel was just laughing at how worked up Tybalt got, though at the end, she did agree with him. “Ya, ya! I know we were set up! Since Professor Selene is ignoring us now about porn mags, I think all the professors are in on it.” She gave the Black Dog a serious nod, which turned into a look of pure disbelief once Selene informed them of what was happening.
“EIGHT HOURS ON A CAMEL!?” Hel shrieked. “JACK DAMN!”
Not like she could get out of it, though, and she took her journal and pen with a groan.
- - -
Hour 1:
I still think this detention is unethical. A whole weekend? Eight hours on a camel one way? Riding a camel IS exciting though! I never rode one growing up, and it is different than any other creature.
Hour 2:
Now I am bored. Camel riding has lost its excitement. If these camels could fly, that would be better…
I have never ridden a creature that flew before.
Hour 3:
I wish there was something exciting to look at.
Hour 4:
One sip of water. I feel like I need to preserve what is in this canteen…though now I a wondering what awaits us once we reach the end of eight hours. Okay, maybe I will not hang Mut from the flag pole again, because this feels like a waste of time.
Hour 5:
More than half way there. Jack.
Hour 6:
There are so many better things I could be doing right now.
Hour 7:
Almost there…
Hour 8:
What happens at the end!?
- - -
“PROFESSOR SELENE ARE WE THERE YET!?” Hel cried, half leaning off her camel out of exasperation. “My a** is sore from all this riding!” Because everyone needed to know.
