When you read "Reading everything away..." does it make sense to you?
I just had to ask.
For me, it has meaning but I just from others point of view, I want to hear what you guys think and if it makes any sense at all to you.

I get the impression of reading away all your pain and worries. Like, using reading to soothe your heart the way some people do with music. That's what I think, but I'm not sure what you feel about it.

In a way you actually nailed the meaning of it. smile I just had to ask because when I told my boyfriend about the quote. He actually had this sorta confused look and took a few seconds to think about it before giving me an actual answer. Hah.

Well, I guess you'd just have to be a bookworm to understand it immediately. People who love books and reading are more likely to get it than those that only read when they have to.

agreed. Maybe that why it took him a few secs to give me an answer. He doesn't read as much as I do but he does read every now and than/ Just like current event or things on cars and uch. Personally for me, I enjoy to read. I have no idea how I got into it but I do enjoy it alot. Reading has been very helpful especially with all the stress, depression, lonelines and such that I have been dealing with since my summer break started. Even when I am extremely made or feeling very upset because of my boyfriend, the first thing I do after crying or whatever is pick a book and just start reading everything away even it means me staying up until whatever time until I finish the book or until I get sleepy or just feel better.

Hmm... The phrase itself makes sense to me but I'm unsure if the way I interpret it is "correct." It could mean the person is reading away their sorrows, their life, and simply entering another world that isn't their own. That happens when I'm really into a book. I'll become part of that main characters reality and mine will fade away for a while.

I'll read pretty much anything. I haven't read a single thing this summer though, because my jerk of a guardian refuses to take me to the library. She has plenty of time to go shoe shopping, but whenever I ask about books all of a sudden she's busy. It's hard to cope with life when you have no books to help you. Thanks goodness school starts up again soon, so I'll be able to go to the library there.

That's horrible. >.<
For me, its hell to be living with my mom. She always has something to complain about. Heck she even complains about me buying too many books. All I say to her is that she should thankful that I am not wasting money on drugs or alcohol.

Same here. Mine whines about me being anti-social, but then she never lets me go anywhere. She complains about pretty much everything I do, even when it's her fault. She can't just be happy that I'm not one of those teens out there having sex and getting drunk or high. Aghhhh I need books right now. She won't even let me buy any. She's all like "You can just go to the library" but then she never takes me there. *flips a table*

I hate when parents do that. I am be 21 and still live under my mom's roof I completely understand that I follow her rules in thise household. But I hate it when my mom always tells me how disappointed she is in because I never turn out to be like her, how I can't drive(which is true but I have fear of it. I am not sure what is it about cars that make me nervous but they do) and how I am not hardworking like her and such.
Thats why when I get the chance to get out, I take it depending on my situation of course. v.v but when I don't go out. I just close the door to my room and read.
Aww if I could I would try to take you to the library or maybe to a bookstore with me so you can get yourself some books D:

Well I'm still 16, so of course I have to listen to her even when she makes no sense. I cam empathize with the whole "being told how disappointing you are" thing. Every day she tells me how bad I am at everything, and how stupid and annoying and horrible I am. I don't even know why she keeps me since I'm adopted and she could easily just give me away. But instead she just treats me like crap for no reason. That's why I stay in my room all day. As soon as I get home from school I come here to escape, and I don't come out unless I need food or the bathroom. I keep my books in here with me too. This is my little hideaway.

All bad...
It sucks... I would like to hideaway in my room but because my room has a side door that we use to let the dogs out through, its kinda hard to keep the door close which is why I intend to go out.
I am just hoping to finally get that peace and quiet I have been waiting for this long... So I am looking forward to my mom leaving the house for 4 days.

Ah, yes I see whyy it'd be hard to have a little hidey-place in your room. Better make the most of those 4 days c: Enjoy the serenity.
