I have never broken anything before, arm, leg, finger, nothing. Yesterday I had an accident and I broke my left middle toe in 2 places: at the base, and somewhere in the middle. It hurts like hell to walk almost 24 hours later, and that's with the maximum amount of pain reliever possible without hurting me. Ive iced it, ive elevated it, ive buddy bandaged it, ive worn firm shoes and soft shoes, but it still hurts! I know its not advised to go anywhere, but I have volunteer work and plans almost every day for the next month. Is there any way I can relieve the pain that I feel on the bottom of the ball of my feet when I walk?

I cant go see a doctor because my mom refuses to take me, but she and my boyfriends mom (who is the head nurse at a local hospital) have both diagnosed it as a broken toe.

        I found this on the NHS website.

        "Caring for your broken toe at home

        Put a piece of cotton wool or gauze between your injured toe and the one next to it and tape the two toes together with a plaster. The healthy toe will act as a splint.
        Keep your foot raised for as long as possible, for example by resting it on cushions. This will help reduce swelling and pain.
        Hold an ice pack (try frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel) to the toe for 15-20 minutes every one to two hours for the first couple of days. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
        Rest the toe by not walking or standing for too long, and not putting weight on the toe.
        Take over-the-counter painkillers such as ibuprofen to relieve the pain, but do not give aspirin to a child under 16 years of age.
        Wear sturdy shoes that do not squash or bend the toe."

        When to see your GP

        Check the toe every day and call your GP if:

        The pain gets worse or is not relieved by ordinary painkillers. Your GP may be able to prescribe a stronger painkiller.
        The swelling or discolouration doesn’t improve after a few days
        You have a wound near the injured toe, which will need cleansing to prevent infection.

        When to go to hospital

        Go to your nearest accident and emergency (A&E) department if:

        your toes are cold and numb or tingling (as you may have damaged the nerves)
        the skin on your toe has turned blue or grey
        you have severely injured the toe."

I broke my toe once. Basically you pretty much just have to get on with life sweatdrop
I broke mine over a decade ago so i can't really remember all the care details. But i think it took about a week for the worst of the pain to go away. I do remember it being a pretty funky colour for fairly long time afterwards.

How long do you think it took for it to fully heal (or atleast be not noticeable enough for you to walk normally without a whole lot of pain)?

Thank you! I had tried this but given up because it didn't do much - probably because it was the day after the "incident", but I guess I wasn't patient enough. I tried it again to follow this more specifically and its helped bunches :3
