So tonight this happened again. I had another gay guy tell me being bi might be a phase.

I'll set the scene. We are in bed after a very tiring 3 hour woohoo. Of which I will say i spent a large amount of time looking at the cycling between my feet. Then after we talked about ex's. I told him about the girls I have dated. He ask how long i have been bi I told him since i was 14(24 now). And he said i was going though a phase and one day most likely I would end up a straight ******** that=p).

So this is the 4th guy who I have been with who said that right after some very non Hetero s**t went down.

Come on people if your with someone bisexual, and you two have covered most of the shower scenes from OZ I doubt he is going to wake up one day and be like damn I guess hot dogs are not my thing after all, i'll stick to taco stands.

=p

Haha! This honestly made my day. I don't understand why there's so much hate against bisexuals/pansexuals/other multi-sexuals in general by gays/lesbians/straights. I actually read a study that bisexual individuals are more likely to get into abusive relationships because of the prejudice against bisexuals not 'picking' one or the other. Just, argh. I should go and look for it. But, yah. I say it's more likely to be a phase in your early teens when you're experimenting, but not at twenty frikkin four when you realized you were bisexual at fourteen. razz People.

I realized I was bisexual myself when I was about...12 or so. (I am 21 today) At first I was in denial for about a year, then fully accepted it when I realized that's just how I was. Luckily I was able to talk about it with a cousin of mine who is pansexual, so I never feared that I would be judged by her. Now the NEXT person I told, the story isn't that pretty. At first, he asked if I was a lesbian, so I just told him the truth and hoped to just continue whatever we were doing, with no problems. But NO...that's when all the questions started like, "When did you decide this?" and "Are you sure you're not just a closeted lesbian?" But the one that took the cake was, "Why are you making things harder for yourself? If you're so scared to tell your parents why don't you just 'change back' and avoid all the trouble?" He went ON and ON, and eventually he made me cry since he was being so rude and insensitive. He couldn't figure out why I was crying, even after I told him like 3 times... >_> (I apologize for the long rant)

I remember hanging out with gay friends, they would accuse everyone of being gay, also were always trying to push me into being fully gay when I was 15.

people like others to be like them so they don't feel so alone and different.

Every one wants what they cant have.

Alot of gay men are turned on by the idea of being with a straight man (because they cant have them by the very definition).
So I know a few of the guys i have been with liked to think of me as a straight guy. That they are wooing me into sex, because they are just that good. rolleyes

Eh? That's ridiculous... What would make being bi a stage? I mean... It would make since if I were to find out I was... I don't know... Bi or pansexual and not a lesbian. I mean, I'm only 17, not 2-freaking-4.

A big reason why a lot of people think that bisexuality is a "phase" is because over the years many gay people (men in particular) have come out as bisexual and used that as a sort of stepping stone to acceptance of their homosexuality. It's been seen by these individuals as a safer way to come out, because a man who sleeps with men but who still likes women has typically seemed to be more acceptable to the general public. In an internal capacity, it is also often a stepping stone toward self-acceptance for those who grew up in aggressively anti-gay environments and who have a hard time dealing with their own sexual preferences.

Elton John is a notable example of a gay man who claimed, for several years, that he was bisexual.

For these people, there never actually was a true bisexual phase. They just used the label as a way to inch out of the closet more slowly. Sadly, in doing so, they have created the common impression that bisexuality isn't "real" and that if you claim to be bisexual then you are really just gay and unwilling to admit it. This belief is incorrect, obviously, but it is still quite common.

You know I started to think maybe, just maybe I was wrong about my last comment after I posted. Somehow this thread made me think about it and I was like "Whoah it's been since 2011 that i've had a legitimate attraction to a female"

Then This chick and I started talking and I was like "Oh yeah that's right."

Damn you made me laugh XD
I know that feeling - I've been dating the one guy for almost 8 years now, and I'm pansexual. One day, he was all "so I guess you're gay now" and I had to gently tell him it doesn't work like that. I mean, I have zero interest in cheating on him, but I'm still not gay *shakes head*
