Thoughts?
I was pretty mixed. I thought the humor was all really forced, and the episode felt way too long.
Also maybe it's because I'm not the BIGGEST fan of superhero stuff, but a movie is often almost too much of it for me and I don't think it's going to make a great show because of that. But I love Whedon and literally every single other thing he's done, and so many shows of his start of pretty whatever but then get SO GOOD so idk. I'm gunna keep watching and see what happens, hopefully it peaks my interest more. And the humor gets better.

I thought they crammed too much into the pilot. Why set up the Rising Tide as a big bad to reveal it to be just the obligatory somewhat crazy genius in a van?
Plus that whole "he can never know" thing screams LMD, unless the rumor I heard as a possible character launch for Avengers Phase 3 is going to happen on the show.
I'm waiting for Alan Tudyk to show up at some point.

I'm waiting for Alan Tudyk to show up at some point. I loved seeing J August Richards & I'm excited to see who pops up from past Whedons Also it should be noted that I haven't seen Iron Man 3 so I misses a lot of references to that.

I know next to nothing about the whole universe (all I've seen is Iron Man 1) but I've wanted to watch some of the movies for a while. And since I love Joss, I'll probably hurry and watch them soon so I can see what this is about before it gets canceled.

Fox was going to cancel it after season 1, so then they made a final episode that didn't air because Fox was like "ehhhh well idk, last time we canceled this dude's show people murdered us...." and then there was season 2. hahaha.

It reminded me a lot of Torchwood. Which drew inspiration from Angel, so that makes sense. But it definitely has more of a Torchwood vibe than an Angel vibe.
I feel like the actress for Skye is an obvious stand in for Eliza Dushku. I was glad to see J August Richards and wish he were a more central character.
Overall I'd give the pilot a B-. I'm definitely going to keep watching, but it was not Whedon bringing his A game.

I watched it with my dad and his girlfriend. All I have to say is that I liked it. I'd watch it if I had cable but I don't so.
