Story
Once upon a time, before the reign of the Gods, there was the Lord of Light and Order and Lord of Dark and Chaos who fought bitterly since the beginning of creation. When all hope seemed lost, the Lord of Light used most of his life casting the Lord of Darkness away while he used his power to create the stars and the World of Titania, where he escaped. Shielded by his light from the sun, he created all of the world's creatures. Before breathing his last, he created Odin to watch over the land while he was being reborn. When the Lord of Darkness returned and saw all that had been made, he had been greatly weakened by the light and order present. But still, he was fascinated by the world and took pleasure in corrupting it. He created the night and the underworld in order to recover his strength while he played with all as if they were his toys.
As time pressed on, Ragnarok, the twilight of the Gods, approached. Odin, knowing the Lord of Light had been reborn somewhere in the World of Titania, sent his warriors, the Valkyrie and Einherjar out to wage war against the Lord of Darkness and his armies of undead.

The World of Titania
This story takes place in Titania, a magical steampunk world, post renaissance era. Weapons of choice are generally enchanted weaponry. Human cities are run with the help of magical technology, and magicians and mechanics are very common. Guns, airships, and cars do exist, but usually only the wealthy can afford them. Normal people usually work on farms and generally get around using magic, walking, or riding horses. Bandits are common everywhere, but there is no shortage of mercenaries that can be hired as escorts.
Races
Valkyries: Female goddesses who fight for Odin. They prowl the battlefields, recruiting brave souls. Those souls be become their partners and help wage war against the Dark Lord (General Alliance: Lord of Light)
Einherjar: The souls recruited by Valkyries (you must have a Valkyrie partner in order to be an einherjar). They are bound to their Valkyrie by a contract that allows them to live in an immortal physical body in exchange for their service. (General Alliance: Lord of Light)
Humans: Living mortals who possess souls. Humans can use magic and make great mercenaries. They are a well rounded race though considered weaker then most others. (General Alliance: Neutral)
Elves: Immortals skilled at spells and enchantments who live hidden in the woods. They are known for grace, intelligence, and dexterity, but not for brute strength. (General Alliance: Neutral)
Faeries: Spirits of the forest who assist the elves. They are tiny, crafty, and possess great magic, but they are extremely delicate and short lived. (General Alliance: Neutral)
Dwarfs: Long lived mortals of short stature, generally with long beards. Dwarfs are expert craftsmen who live in the mountains. They are known for their brute strength and rough nature. (General Alliance: Neutral)
Giants: Immortals who oppose Odin and live in the land of Ice. Though the giants hold no particular alliance to the Lord of Dark, they have a grudge against Odin and thus target his Valkyries out of hatred. (General Alliance: Anti-Odin)
Dragons: Giant reptiles that possess long lives and great wisdom. Dragons commonly have a lust for gold and often wipe out dwarf mines to steal their gold. Dragons also eat humans and are capable of great destruction. (General Alliance: Free for All)
Vampires: Immortal lords of the Undead. Vampires are powerful the servants of the Lord of Darkness who generally feed off of humans, but they hold a belief that feeding from Valkyries makes them stronger. They burn in the light, but grow stronger around dead souls. (General Alliance: Lord of Darkness)
Other Undead: Includes, zombies, ghosts, and all others who submit to the Lord of Darkness.
((IMPORTANT NOTE: If your character is a living race, like a human, and your character is killed, you can choose to make your character an einherjar or undead mid-RP if you wish and continue using that character.)) |

Bio: Alistyre was born a weapons smith who mastered the craft from a very young age, before he turned 10, and throughout the ages he has crafted and mastered thousands of weapons and often made a few Charm Custom weapons of his own design. He has had to flee from a dragon or two to keep his weapons from falling into the wrong hands, he has enchanted them to be used by who he made them for and he made the majority of his weapons for himself. He has also been known to kill a few hundred goblins and orcs from time to time too and the occasional werewolf and vampire. He has yet to kill off a dragon because of its hide, claws, fangs and size...not to mention its flames.

Bio: Isbjorn was one of the first Einherjar that Lilly collected from the battlefield, his chest studded with so many arrows he looked like a porcupine. Lilly took his soul and, with the promise of more fighting, he pledged to fight by her side and protect her always. Since dying he has come to find a new love in reading tales of great heroes, it's not quite as inspiring as hearing the songs, but when he's in a place where hearing songs of glory are not possible a good book is there. He doesn't care much for the whys of fighting, or the who, but this Lord of Darkness conflict promises to be a great war.

Bio: Khaz'therashk was one of the Lord of Darkness's oldest sorcerers back when the world was new from an ancient civilization. In payment for his immortality and magical prowess Khaz'therashk toppled the civilization he was born into sending the world into a century long feral age. In his long life he's gained an appreciation for humor, even if it's bad humor focused around the fact that he's a walking skeleton, he gets a huge kick when someone tells him to 'have a heart' then usually proceeds to take theirs so he can have one. He is fascinated by this new age of science and magic together and has taken to it eagerly, studying and experimenting on many things, including prisoners and a few "volunteers" from the Chaos Lord's servants

We he caught wind that a prince from a kingdom renowned for its wealth, slayed a friend of his for his treasure, Wagner stormed the kingdom with his rage and took over the place overnight. Wagner still lives in the ruins of that city of jewels, living a life of luxury with his wealth accumulated over the years.

Any other info: Wagner is the king of the dragons, a very powerful race. At the age of ten, he showed great talent with magic and mechanics, even surpassing some of the professors in the famous magicians academy at the city of magic. He was constantly bullied for being poor and weak in physical strength, but in little time at all, he made all of them stand on their heads with his magical power. By the age of 16, most of the new technological and magical advances could be attributed to his name. But as he grew, he became unsatisfied. He tried everything to fill the hole inside of him, but neither the knowledge, alcohol, nor women could satisfy him. He began diving into the forbidden arts, he discovered the philosopher stone, and he even began harnessing the power of the Dark Lord. Still, this didn't satisfy him. Upon his return and fearing what he was becoming, the magicians at the magicians academy banished him when he was 20 and sent assassins after him. In retaliation, he burned the academy to the ground. From there, he began traveling, trying to satisfy his unquenchable thirst.

Bio: Wylla is a mercenary from the far North of the town where she was hired, this small town was named Colhen. She faced a race known as the Fomors, in a war where she worked with 6 other mercenaries. None of them had met before that, they were all from different areas around Colhen. Shortly after the battles that left Colhen in Flames, she went to the city of Rocheste, where she, and the other mercenaries, became not just Cadets but Commanders of the Rocheste Royal Army.
She was forced to slay one of her former allies in the battle of Ortel Castle, only to learn the ruler of Ortel was trying to fix the wrongs of the Rocheste Royal Army. The battles kept building and building, until they were forced to travel through Rocheste's sewers and ended up in a land where time stood still. They were in Albey, which was the path to Heide, where the God of the Fomors resides, along with his Seal Keepers. After all that happened, they thought they had won the war, but in fact they had lost as much as they had won.
Shortly after that, all the mercenaries departed from the now rebuilt docks at Colhen, and set out for the island Morvan, where one of the mercenaries was from. But not all was at peace in this peaceful little isle. They sailed from there to Crescent Moon Island. Where they were forced to fight another god, Serpent King Rakoria. With the issues set to peace they left Crescent Moon Island, and headed back for Morvan. But they got trapped in what is known as the Tomb of Ships, where they faced nightmares. They battled undead pirates, and sea-hags but those were not what brought them there. It was The Kraken. They had to fight and keep it from sinking their ship, after keeping it from sinking them they realized the only way to win was to use the massive harpoon gun on their ship. After they returned to Morvan they were sent further inland they were searching the desert for an Ancient Ruler, named Iset. Which sends her into a place she'd never suspect to exist.
Likes: Anything cute, food (odd for being how skinny she is), and making sure she gets paid for completing a task.
Dislikes: not getting paid, anything "gross" and scaly (excluding her armor, it's made from a dragon she has slain.), and being left without any form of combat.
Any other info: She stands about 5' 9" tall, has naturally black hair and blue eyes. Also note, she carries not just a Long Sword and Small Shield with her, she has a Long Hammer and Large Shield that she carries also. The total weight of all of her gear when carried at the same time is 647 Stones.

Bio: Vella is from the island town of Morvan. She ventured out of the town in pursuit of doing good. In turn she became the Mistress of The Seas, a Pirate who instead of stealing from merchants and attacking small coastal villages, attacked other pirates and took their plunder for her own. After captaining her own ship for a couple years, she ventured back onto land only to go missing to her crew.
She was found by the two adventurers Lann and Wylla when they were sent to investigate the Ainle Catastrophe. Vella was taken by the vampires who invaded through a portal due to a failed magic experiment. She was taken by the Vampires in a bizarre ritual to fully restore The Blood Prince's power by forcing Vella to marry him. Although at his full power, he did not last very long against the combined strength of Vella, Lann, and Wylla. Vella became the third mercenary to join the Crimson Blades. Due to the Ainle Catastrophe, Vella was left unable to speak, but with some abilities of a vampire. She has a faster reaction time, the ability to sense beings' at a distance, and an astonishing healing rate. But when in direct sunlight, Vella is afflicted and made as weak as a regular human.
She has resided in Titania following the battles of the First War of the Fomors in the Herb Lands. She is the only mercenary to have visited Titania before, she has an extensive knowledge on the people and land itself.

Dislikes: Anything remotely related to Vampires, bright light, and large crowds
Any other info: One side effect of the Ainle Catastrophe is her being unable to speak, but she can speak directly into the mind of any sentient being, but only at a short range, up to 10 yards away. Vella has two kinds of weaponry, since losing her ability to use magic, she uses Twin Swords and Chain Blades.

Personality: Kind hearted, he veers towards the light. He never eats humans or attacks dwarves. He hasn't taken a side, mostly because he doesn't want to fight, but if he had to, for some strange reason, he would fight for light and freedom.
Bio: Some people have many theories as to how this lapis lazuli colored dragon was born, as if night was draped upon his scales. Some say he was born from the heavens, others say he was surrounded by lapis when he was born, but in truth, he was born like that. It was the color of his scales that attracted people to him, seeking either his strength or his horde of wealth. Because he had no wealth and he was strange and didn't wish to fight, all he could offer was advice. Soon after, people brought him donations of treasure for his advice, some gave him a cut of their wealth for the advice that worked in their favor, but he knew his advice was just words. He wouldn't admit it to the populace, thought, for he still enjoyed the treasure. It was from his advice and peaceful nature that he earned the title "the Wise," at such a young age (for a dragon).

Dislikes: The greedy, the dark, raw meat.
Any other info: He lives in a dwarven mountain and welcomes all visitors.
