It was quiet in the Elders quarters. It had been for the last few months. Hiyoko had been without Shuuha ever since the two realized that the love they had for one another had gone. She huffed. The tribe had grown a bit since she had stepped up to replace her mother. She wished things could have worked out better in her life til now, but with all the chaos, starting with her running from her father as a child, only to meet sulpher, going as far as the first time her chest hurt when she saw that Phim. Hindsight it was probably his presence that caused her so much trouble. After all he did try to kill her once. However if it wasnt for that she wouldnt have begun to take her job as seriously as she does now. She had only seen him a few times since then, and she had seen, the violent tendancy he had displayed that one day, nor did he have that clueless demeanor he had when she met him. She layed her head on her paws now flustered that she had begun thinking of him. He had told him last time they spoke that he had a mate. (205 )

He had no idea where he was. He was tired, sore, hungry and didn't have the energy to go any further. He looked up and the sun was setting. He had to stop and rest. He didn't go for until he found a tree, the ground around it was warm, soft and welcoming. He felt comfortable, he didn't know why. He felt safe. He was far from what he used to call home. From from the one who abused him and the one he once called his mate. He curled up and closed his eyes. Morning would soon come and he could keep moving until he found somewhere more permanent to stay. He couldn't keep going like this. He closed his eyes, it would take a while until sleep actually caught up with him. His ears kept twitching with every sound. Parts of him shivered, thinking the worse could be around the corner.

Hiyoko's ear twitched, she looked around the quarters then stepped out, She had caught a brief scent of something familiar, blowing through the air. She continued out, passing Sulpher who, quickly asked where she was going. "Im going for a walk" the yellow fox replied. With that she quickly darted from the tribe grounds. The scent grew stronger, as she drew closer to the mountain range that was said to protect the tribe lands. The closer she got the more familiar the scent became, until her eyes began to well up. His scent was identified and she began to run towards the scource. A sliver of gray along with those unique wings of his. She watched from a bush. Waiting to see what he would do at this point. Why was he near the tribe alone. Her ears flicked back filled with questions. He didnt look all too well. She questioned if she should approach. With a shake of her head she stepped out of the bush. "What are you doing here?" She asked with a touch of both frustration and caring.

It wasn't the light of the sun that woke him. It was a familiar voice, both, at the time, frustrated and somewhat worried. His eyes opened to see a cream colored vixen and blue eyes glaring down at him. "Hiyo?" His voice was dry and cracked. His muscles and joints ached as he sat up, his own wings felt heavy against his side. It felt odd being back in her presence. He couldn't look her in the eye after the first look. He had done her wrong in the past and was afraid. Afraid he would do it again, but he knew he couldn't now. Not how he was before her. "What are you doing out here?" He knew she was to be an Elder, her tribe had been started but was never completed. Shouldn't she be in the tribe? Did something happen? His mind swelled with ideas, but he soon shook them from his head. Then again... he had no idea where he was, maybe he was near her tribe.

Hiyo looked at the male. "Well your right by my hut in the tribe. The wind picked up and I caught your scent when I was relaxing, so I came to investigate, and found you here."she could tell he was in pain. "Can you stand? Walk?" She asked examinibg him. By the sound of his voice he was thirsty. There was a river within the tribelands, he could get some water and food there. If he couldntstand shed have to do this the hard way. She wouldnt mind but ut wouldneed her to head back to the tribe real quick. "We need to get you some water if nothing else. I know a place."

Gimpi nodded and shakily got up, his wings drooped at his sides. He was thirsty and famished. He nodded his again to signal he was ready to walk. He walked forward a bit and waited for her to get ahead of him. He felt awkward being around her. His heart raced and stopped all at the same time and it made his stomach twist into knots. He was too tired and weak to fight anything, luckily he was able to keep his emotions to a minimal.

The female walked beside the male to keep him steady, slowly leading him through the woods, up to a stream. Leading him to the edge she backed off and walked a few yards down stream. "Go ahead and get some water. She smiled softly. "Meanwhile Ill catch some lunch." With a grin she stretched her legs out and moved her focus to the water where fish were swimming. She had learned how to catch fish, she knew it was more then just surprising the prey, there was force, angle of strike and timing involved. She also had to know which fish were good to eat. Kill. One before its time, and the speices could die out. And many would starve. To her fishing was an art. "Hmm more males today.... then that means I should..."with that she swung knocking a brightly colored fish out of the water.

Once they made it to the stream, Gimpi flopped down again. He drank the cool water, it helped his throat and freshened him slightly. His body still felt heavy against his joints. He found a more comfortable position and waited for Hiyo to return. Until then he closed his eyes and steadied his breath. Little did he know that he fell asleep. His exhaustion caught up to him and once he was comfy, it just crashed him like a giant wave.

A pair of fish in her mouth Hiyo made her way back to the phim only to find him sleeping. With a sigh she sat down to examine him. Making sure. He was only sleeping. Using her paw , after some hesitation checked for breathing. When she was sure he wasnt dead she sat down and placed his lunch between them and silently watched him.

After a while something reached his nose, something that he didn't smell often. His nose twitched and was awoken by the smell. He dragged himself up into a sitting position and looked down at the source of the smell. Fish. "Thanks..." He still felt awkward around Hiyo. He took the smaller of the fish and ate it rather quickly. "Are you going to eat too?" He still didn't look her in the face.  

[Renogoran]

Hiyo nodded" I'll eat don't worry, I'm just wanting to be sure your Okay first." she sighed before walking to the stream and going back to searching for some fish. After a moment she found a small group and swooped one up into her mouth.with that she turned and walked over to the place Gimpi was and sat down dropping the fish. "see?"

Since Hiyo caught more he didn't feel guilty reaching out for another and eating it. He ate two more before feeling full. His tail flicked around him briefly, He looked at it then ticked it away again. "Thank you, Hiyo." He got up and dragged himself a bit to the stream to have a drink. It was cool and refreshing. He returned to Hiyo and plopped down.

Seeing the male get up made Hiyo feel better. When he plopped down she opened her mouth to speak"so how have you been?" she awkwardly asked knowing the answer was not good . Then again she wasn't any better off, Shuuha disappeared from her life. It was after they had gotten into an argument over their kids and her want for more. And his reluctance to spend time in the tribe with her. She felt he didn't support her." I'm guessing something bad happened?"

"Well... I guess you could call it bad." He didn't know what to call it anymore. They had fallen out of love. He was tired of Belial and his intrusions into his life. He let out a long sigh. "But other than that... I'm alive." He wondered if Hiyo even cared if he was still alive or not. She was one of the first foxes he had met and really... liked. He was young then. Who know what she felt like now.

Hiyoko nodded, "well least your alive." she smiled. shuffling her feet. "Shuuha left." she offhandedly tried to mention.grabbing another fish from the water."are you still hungry?" she asked. If he was ready though she wanted to take him back so she could have him looked at by some of the tribes medics."when your ready though let me know I can bring you to the tribe for a bit.
