Like a cigarette, Keahi calmed down after the lollipop entered his mouth. If Mr. Mortimer didn't refill the candy jar it was going to be a long day tomorrow.
The sigh he intended to do ended up turning into a yawn, and Keahi entered his dorm he had only gotten to know one other time that morning. Keahi had little luggage, so it was going to be a bland room, but it wasn't like he was planning on spending much time in it anyway.
Keahi lie on his back with his hands behind his head and his eyes to the cieling. No roommate. That was a first. It was the first time Keahi wasn't amongst other shirtless island men. What was he going to do with the other bed?

He did intend to go to class after his visit at the nurse's office but decided not to. He wasn't much of a slacker (okey, he was, but he wasn't going to admit it) and did pretty well in class. Especially music, but seeing as that wasn't even on his schedule today he figured he might as well head back to his dorm and curl up in bed with his computer. Walking leisurely through the hallways with his bass over his shoulder safely put in the black case and another small bag in his hands, Daniel finally ended up outside his assigned dorm. Room mate? No room mate? He hoped for the last one. Sighing slightly, he put a hand on the knob, twisted it and pushed the door open and stepped inside but stopped dead in his tracks as he saw Keahi on a bed. Narrowing his eyes slightly, he let out a small "tch" but didn't say anything as he walked over to the other bed and put his things down and sat down. Was he really going to have to share his room with this guy? Really?

Just when he was starting to not appreciate the silence, something interesting happened. In walked the fire bird, Annie; and it became apparent who his roommate was. Well, if he didn't kick him out. He had some decisions later.
Because he only had two expressions, -neutral and mischievous smile- Keahi didn't mimic back. Just followed him with eyes to the bed, then shut them again. And because he'd done it a thousand times, Keahi slipped off his shirt without notice and threw it in Annie's face on 'accident.' "How was the nurse's office, Annie?"

The shirt that landed in his face made him growl slightly as he grabbed it and threw it back at him. "It's Daniel, for like the millionth time. Seriously..." he said, muttering the last part as he ran a hand through his hair. The question he was asked? Left unanswered. He had no plans on talking to that guy unless he was forced to. "And keep your goddamn clothes on" he added as he got his bass out and plugged it to his tuner, gently turning the keys on top and hitting the strings to tune it. If it hadn't been for getting himself into the fight earlier he wouldn't have to be doing this now and it bothered him slightly.

Like his expressions, Keahi had very few emotions. He wasn't offended by the fact the other didn't answer his perfectly normal question, just surprised. He didn't even offend him and he snarled at him. Keahi was tough, but only when he had a reason to be. Maybe he was more of an A-hole than him?

What was that? He wanted him to keep his clothes on? Another chance for him to be physically witty? Slap! There went his pants, sliding down Daniel's face. Boxer shorts let in a breeze anyway, reminded him of home.

Daniel was glad he didn't own a guitar, because if he did, the one string he just pulled might've snapped when a pair of pants landed in his face. It hurt his head a bit, but not too much, but enough for him to wince. Stopping with everything he was doing for a few seconds, he just stared right in front of his and removed the pants from his head and glared at Keahi. Not wanting to start another fight, Daniel just sighed and dropped the piece of clothing to the floor next to his bed. "I told you to keep your clothes on" he said, continuing his tuning.

When he was done with his tuning he just put his bass next to him. He lightly touched the bruise next to his eye that he'd gotten from the fight earlier and grimaced lightly and sighed. His eyes then went to Keahi. "Why are you getting undressed anyway?"

His roommate's first reaction made him giddy inside, got him smiling like a little boy. His second made him finally feel at ease. It was official, he was safe to approach; so Keahi went ahead and dove on his bed rather than his own.
"No boy or man wore a shirt on Oahu." He said like it was common sense. If he was any Disney character, it was Peter Pan.
"Did I hurt your hand? Because your face hurt mine." Serious even though he didn't sound like it. "Let me see it." He said, taking him by the chin because he knew he didn't punch that place, and made him face him so that they were eye-to-eye.

Daniel frowned a little at his room mate's response to his question. When he noticed the boy getting closer to his bed he moved his bass and put it on the floor and leaning it against the wall. "Well, this is not...whatever the place was called. It's colder here you know" he said looking at Keahi, running a hand through his own hair while he did. The next question from the boy made him frown a little again, but he just sighed a little. Why did he care? But before he could answer he had his head turned his way by his chin. Daniel blinked lazily a few times and sighed a little again. "It'll only hurt for a few days and then I'll have one hell of a black eye. But I'm fine" he said a bit lower than he intended. He kept his eyes on the boy before him, not saying a word to him. In all honesty, he found the whole situation to be a little funny.

Daniel sighed twice in a row. Once away from his face, once in front of. After inspecting his bruise, Keahi moved up to his eyes. "Did you purposely dye your hair to match your eyes?" They practically matched, one of them had to be fake. Detective Keahi copied Daniel's earlier motion of running his hand through his hair to see what it felt like.
To a stranger, this was touchy. To himself, this was normal.

"Hm..?" Daniel looked up slightly until he could see a bit of his own hair and then looked back at Keahi. "Never really thought much about it actually. But my hair is indeed dyed, though not for the reason to match my eyes" he said and gave a small shrug. He then just quietly watched the boy in front of him and followed his movements with his eyes. Keahi was a little...strange but somehow a little charming. Interesting to say the least, despite throwing his clothes off.

Without a word he grabbed Keahi's hand and inspected it closer like he had done to his bruise. "Does it hurt? I can go with you to the nurse's office if it does..." he said with a slight hint of worry in his voice. It was very rare for him to worry about people he'd had a fight with.

It was easy to bruise the kid earlier that morning, now it was hard to even believe he got into a fight with the other male.
Keahi froze a tense hand in the other's hair while he answered, then loosened up and smiled. A real, genuine smile. 'Not for the reason to match his eyes.' The little liar. Keahi truly believed, chuckling inside, smiling out. It was just too hard to believe! But hey, at least it got him smiling. First time since Oahu.

It was Keahi's turn to be a doll. Keahi let the other inspect all he want. "I don't know. Do they have lollipops?" He held up a stolen sample.

The smile on Keahi's face rubbed off on him enough to make him smile a bit, even though he felt a little silly with the other's hand in his hair. But he didn't say anything about it. Compared to earlier, he seemed pretty innocent so he just couldn't shoo him away. Besides, he kind of liked it when someone played with his hair. Not that he would ever admit such a thing to someone else than himself! It was - after all - mostly girls who enjoyed that and he was as far from girly as one could come. In his eyes at least.

Daniel carefully ran his thumb over Keahi's knuckles and let out a small laugh at his question. He looked up to his face with a small smile tugging at one corner of his mouth. "Don't know. Didn't see any when I was there at least."

Had anyone walked in right then they'd think they walked in on a couple. They were, in fact, tangled up in each other. With Keahi's hands in his lap and Daniel's on his. Just a minute ago Keahi had his hands in Daniel's hair. And now they were staring into each other's eyes, smiling; something they both didn't do.
Keahi didn't realize he was captured in a trance until Daniel's reguardless careful touch made him wince out of it. "Ouch!" Still, Keahi didn't pull away...

If Daniel were to see himself right now he would probably laugh. Not only for the fact that he was all tangled up and close to his undressed room mate, but also because he was worried about him. But now he couldn't see himself and he was rather happy with that because he felt rather content and calm. Smiling, even, which was strange enough for him.

"Oh, sorry" he muttered upon hearing Keahi's voice telling him it hurt. He thought of letting go of his hand, bit didn't and he still didn't look away from him, which he probably should. A part of him wanted to, another part didn't want it. Does it hurt much? he asked and - without really thinking of it - brought his hand to his lips and kissed it softly.
