(pretending it's the spring equinox. la la la~ Also since Skype died let me know if you want me to delete this and repost in normal RP forum.)
User ImageOstara looked at land before her. So vast was the sand that she wondered if foxes really liked to live here. Still there were foxes here and it was one day of year that she claimed all her own. She was a modeity with no tribe to look after and so she was free to wander. While she did not have the power the other modeities had when it came to interfering in the lives of foxes that did not mean she did not love them any less. Love was a part of her being and was something that could not be denied. She descended down toward the small oasis that was below her. The water was cool and rippled away from the small part of the fur it touched on her paws and her long mane. Standing above the water Ostara slowly moved forward to the small brown vixen in the green coat that was drinking water. The modeity of the spring equinox knew that she could not be seen, but that didnt matter. She still leaned down and whispered words that she knew the vixen could never and would never hear.
User ImageIon’s ear’s twitched and she looked up. The gentle breeze that had blown up had caused ripples on the surface of the water. Feeling oddly good Ion smiled and then turned and headed back to the small outpost. She was here to take stock of the food and water available. There was a small alter here and one of the shamans would be coming by to see that all was set to rights should a modeity be living here. Until then it was up to Ion to take stock and see that everything would be ready here for any ceremonies the shaman had to perform. Of course this little outpost was quite a ways from the tribe’s main home so it didn’t need to be checked as often. Ritilanishia had come with Ion to make sure Ion would be safe. Then once Rit knew the area was clear she took off and would be back in a few days to collect Ion and make sure the brown vixen got home safely. The silver collar Ion had taken to wearing since she joined the tribe felt warm against her fur, but thankfully wasn’t overly hot.

As always she used a light step on the sands when traveling to and from the outpost. She didn’t want to attract the attention of anything that might be on the ground looking out for things like desert adders was getting to be something Ion could do with ease. She was a bit surprised with the way her life had changed over time. When she had first met Akori he had seemed a bit odd, but was so very nice that she couldn’t help but have a crush on him. Then when they had their night at the temple where she had decided to come into Kemet as Akori’s mate it was incredible and terrifying all at once. Not to mention having to get used to a guardian after nearly getting eaten by that crocodile… even thinking about it still made Ion shudder a bit. Still the guardian was there to protect the tribe so Ion really didn’t have any complaints even though she did her best to stay out of its way. The cool of the outpost sweep over Ion as soon as she moved into the shade of the worn building. After checking for small creeping little stinging bugs she laid down and continued to reflect. Meeting Akori’s family had been interesting and while she couldn’t say she knew them well she did like them and feel much more comfortable than she used to. In fact tribe life was amazing. Ion found she was good at remembering little things like how much food was needed or stored where. Due to this she was designated as a scribe and so here she was at an outpost making sure all the numbers matched the way they should. Never before had she thought this would be her life. She had to admit she was relieved things had turned out so well. There was a question though. Did Akori want kits with her? As a shaman he would be busy a lot and as a scribe she would be busy to. The careers would be looking after their little ones and as often as the tribe had little ones she wasn’t sure if Akori would want kits. There were always seemed to be little ones around to play with. And what if their kits wanted to leave like Rynn's had? That might bother Akori. She should really ask Akori the next time she saw him if having kits was in his idea of the future. Though the idea of doing so made her a bit nervous.

User ImageAkori closed his eyes and listened to the sounds of life around him. There was the small humming narbles normally made but he often tuned it out. River birds where chirping from the banks of the nearest water source. Even the crocodiles seemed to be at peace today lounging by the banks of the iteru in the distance. He often liked just taking it easy and observing life around him. Made for a very quite kit when he was growing up, well when he wasn’t helping Marius in one of his epic schemes. He had the day off as Eirene and Kaname where taking care of the temples or at least the ones that had been cataloged. Everyone was getting ready to prepare from last years flooding season. However the tribe was pretty big and had even gotten a new member recently, well recently in the fact that Fyra had finally had kids. He let out a low purr sound and looked down from his spot on the temple roof. Sure it probably wasn’t the best idea to stay out in the hot sun when he had a black coat but it was winter time and it wasn’t the hottest part of the day.

A lot had happened over the last few months. Hell at lot happened over the last few years. He remembered as a little kit going out into the world with Marius and meeting all those different kits, one of the adventures he had meet to him one of the prettiest vixens ever. She didn’t think he was weird and actually wanted to know about his narbles. Unfortunately Akori was called back to Kemet to start training again and he had resigned himself never to see her again. However there she was one night, actually seeking him out. Of course she almost got eaten by a crocodile and was still a little shaky around them ever since but the fact was she had gone looking for him. Akori was pretty sure Ion still didn’t know exactly what that meant to the black and orange fox. Of course Mated life was extremely busy. A whole bunch of new members had shown up around the same time as Ion had and everyone was falling sick. Akori was running ragged that some nights some one had to haul his butt to bed. Then when everything was settling down Xylara had announced she was going to have babies. He was an uncle. The thought made him overjoyed. He had always dreamed of being the crazy uncle. Of course when Marius had finally had the kits such drama erupted from them he hadn’t had time to be the crazy uncle. Then flooding season hit and it over flowed. Damage control took weeks and Ion was taken away by Persephone since Kemet became official Horus had ascended into his Elder form and then disappeared for weeks on end. When he finally met up with Ion again more foxes joined and then Fyra had children. One was even going to join the tribe.
Sad to say he really wanted to spend time with Ion maybe talk about children, see where they all where with it all. He was fine with having children, he would love little mixes of him and his mate running around but he also knew they would be a lot of work, and both their attention would be towards the kits, as was normal and expected. Akori would love them to death. However he was also fine hoarding Ions attention at the moment as well. With a yawn he leaned down and rested his head on his paws.

User ImageRit’s wings beat steadily as she flew back into the heart of Kemet. She had felt far too long from her mate Persephone. All she wanted to do was to snuggle and cuddle and maybe sneak off back to their shared dwelling for some alone time. Sadly she couldn’t do that until she knew a shaman was on his way out to the outpost she had left Ion at. Glancing around she spotted Akori and grinned to herself. It was amazing luck to have come across a shaman so fast. She allowed herself to glide down in front of him. She gave a loud ‘Hey’ to make Akori aware of her. “Shaman Akori. It would be good if you could find and come to a consensus with the other shamans as to who should head to the outpost that Scribe Ion is clearing.” Rit might not have held onto all of her customs when it came to long greetings and protocol, but addressing others by their title gave her some measure of comfort, except of course when it came to her tovarish and mate Persephone. She had to circle around so she could land off to the side of the temple roof.

As the basket of freshly picked berries rolled across the temple floor Ion actually growled aloud. She hated it when she had everything all nice and set up and then she had to go and botch it all up by being clumsy and knocking over a water jug that JUST had to land at the right spot on the basket to send them both tumbling to the ground. Everything had been going so well to. Moving closer she leaned down to inspect the water jug. Thankfully it wasn’t broken, but she did have to clean up the mess and get more water. Using her tail she righted the container and set it aside. She picked up the basket and set it aside too. Then she started to painstakingly hunt down ever escapee berry she could. It took half an hour and she thought maybe one or two were still missing, but she wasn’t too worried. She’d hunt again latter. Fist things first. She had to wash all the berries she had and refill the water jug. Using her tail to mop up the spilled water she then looped her tail around the jug to carry it back out to the oasis. Looking at the water she checked for crocodiles before getting close enough to fill the jug. The jug filled quickly and some fish were nearly sucked in but the void of water. She had to wait a moment for a curious little fish to move away from above the jug so she could pull it out. She giggled as the little silly thing went in and out a few times before going out and staying out having decided the jug wasn’t a good place to be. Hefting the jug out of the water and feeling a bit better do the antics of the fish she carried the jug back into the temple. Setting the jug up, she turned to the basket of berries and carried that out. It was trickier to balance with her tail then the jug had been because Ion was scared of tipping all the berries out again but she thankfully managed not to. This time rather than submerging the item she set it in and held it down so that only a small amount of water could flood in just above the rim and fill the basket partway. Then whisking the basket out of the water she used a paw to swirl the berries about and then her tail to tilt the basket while her paw held the berries inside.

What did one do while they had a day off seriously? Most of the time when he had a time to catch his breath it was during the three months no one really did anything other than make sure they had enough water and food. Then there was exploring and partying and dancing and all that fun. Sure most of the time he watched nature but there had to be something more exciting. Oh he wished Marius wasn’t with Xylara at the moment, well actually considering the male had quite disappeared earlier today in a slightly moody manner perhaps it was best Akori was admiring the scenery. It was a rather mellow day Akori mused. He wasn’t sure if he actually missed all the excitement that happened lately. Sure some of it he could definitely skip. Hmm actually what sounded perfect right about now was if Ion had the day off? It would be nice to watch the river close enough to get a small breeze and talk about narbles or something else interesting. However he was definitely proud she was trying her best to fit in. he knew it couldn’t be easy to move to a tribe that was half desert.

Suddenly the sound of wings caught his attention and he opened his eyes again. Seeing as Ritilanishia seemed to want to land, he got up on his feet and made room for her to land safely. “Hello Miss Ritilanishia how are you doing today?” he asked. After all one could never get him for trying to engage in small talk or at least trying to be polite. “Alright I’ll pass the message along I’m sure you want to get home” he replied with a smile. Thinking about it wouldn’t it just be easier if he went by himself. He was a shaman and his father and Eirene were probably busy. He would just tell Horus that he’d take a day off next time Ion had one, Horus would probably agree. Or he’d take a day off as soon as he got back. Hmmm now he had to remember what temple Ion would be visiting. There where two that needed to be looked over. He was pretty sure that Amatsu had said something about tackling one of them. He supposed he would just have to guess, and if he got it wrong well then it was the perfect time for getting a bit of exercise.

“I am most well. Thank you for your concern Shaman Akori.” Rit smiled at the male. He was right she did want to get home to Persephone. Still her duty was not done. She would fly over the shaman seeing them off for a ways to make sure that the trip at least leaving was safe. If a sandstorm was spotted on the horizon then Rit knew it was her job to fly out and guide the shaman to shelter and relative safety before they became victims of the merciless storm. “Then I shall await the one who is to journey out at the base of this place. I shall fetch a sac of provisions to hasten the trip’s beginning.” The soon the trip started the sooner Rit could find her beloved and perhaps sneak off for some alone time as long as Horus didn’t’ need either of them. Knowing that Akori was a very trustworthy young fox Rit gave him a huge smile before launching herself off the side of the pyramid. She waited a moment to open her wings so Akori wouldn’t be hit by the blow-back.

Feeling rather smug about her berry washing ingenuity Ion wondered how long it would take before the temple was all ready to be blessed and ready for a deity to come and live inside. Shamans worked hard, Ion knew they did because she hardly ever got to see Akori as much as she wanted. Either her duties or his kept them apart. She would like to him more often, but knew that both of their jobs were very important to the tribe so her own private little selfishness would have to wait. Tilting her head and taking a breath she sighed and finished straining the berries. Lifting and balancing the berries she started to head back to the temple. This time she would make sure things were set up and there would be no more berry escapees. The thought reminded her that she would have to hunt down the one or two that might have escaped before. She didn’t want a deity to come live in a temple that had stray berries under paw. Laying down on her belly in the temple Ion began her hunt.

Akori smiled as he listened to Ritilanshia talked. She had been here a good while but she still stuck to her same type of speaking. As weird as it was to be addressed so formally, he didn’t really mind it at all. Everyone should be able to have their own little quirks; Deities knew he was a supporter of quirks. His smile suddenly died as he nodded understanding the want to go home. After all one of the best things was making the most out of your day and coming home to your family or special someone or even both. Of course the best situation was being with your mate working all day but with Kemet in its busy period it was understandable that both partners where busy. He felt for Ritilanshia knowing how busy Persephone normally was. Luckily she had finally gotten a bit more scribes to help her out. “No need I’ll just go after all I don’t really get to see Ion all that much, it’ll be a good chance to see her” he finally spoke up after a few seconds. “That way you can get home faster” He replied bringing back his signature friendly and calm smile.

She had heard Akori speaking just before she launched off so he didn’t get to see her smile. She flapped back up and gave him a smile that would have made even Persephone proud. “I thank you Shaman Akori. You know well my heart when I have not spoken its innermost wishes.” Perhaps that was one of the reasons that he was a shaman. He could so easily see what a tribe member needed and would help them. Not only that but he had a manner about him that made others want to trust him. It was a far cry from the priests she had known growing up back in Tzara. Strange she never liked the priests back in her homeland but here in Kemet she found herself praising one. Perhaps it land. This desert seemed so much more alive than all of her home in all the years she had known it. “I shall fetch a pack for travel and be back soon. Would you like for me to get you down faster?” It would be a small mater to glide and pick up Akori and fly them both down to the bottom of the pyramid.

Four escapees down and there weren’t any more in site. Ion took care of the strays and had no idea what to do with her time so she walked the temple and did a check on everything. It all seemed to be in place save a few small spiders that were trying to spin webs in dark corners that she had already cleaned. She tsk’ed and deposited the little troublemakers outside the temple. Satisfied that things were all nice and set up she was now promptly bored out of her mind. She had no cleaning or set up left to do. She’d still sweep out the outpost each morning and evening until the tribe shaman came to deal with praying and everything else that needed to be done. There was no one to talk to though and no other tasks to work on to keep her mind busy so Ion started to pace and fidget in the temple. She tried to meditate to calm down and that didn’t work. Finally she resorted to full proof method of eliminating extra energy. She’d go out and walk the edge of the waterline out in the sun until she started to feel a bit tired and then she’d come back in the temple and lay in the shade. She’d get some exercise and she wouldn’t mess any of the hard work she had fussed over.

“Well it’s not too hard when it comes to foxes that really are in love with another. Besides it’s what I would have wanted so I took a venture that you might want the same thing. Anyways enough talking if we both want to get things rolling” Akori stated with a smile. He always liked being a shaman and helping foxes. It was a weird twist of fate as Apries was supposed to be the shaman and Marius didn’t have the temperament to take over so he agreed to carry on being a shaman.

He brought him self out of his thoughts as Ritilanshia offered him a ride down. “Nah climbing down will be good for me; I’ve spent most of my day up there so it’ll be good to stretch and everything. Thank you for the offer though, I appreciate it” he stated and then looked over the side of the temple he was sitting on. Due to following Marius around as a kit he had developed excellent climbing skills. Climbing down obviously was a bit harder but nothing he couldn’t do. It wouldn’t be as fast as going down with his tribe’s scout but it would work for getting him warmed up.

Chuckling Rit flew down to head in to get the pack. She didn’t worry about Akori. He was a good climber and used to scaling the desert and all her buildings. She moved as quickly as she could wanting to get Akori on his way as soon as possible. The boy was very wise indeed when he had hit on that she wanted to see her mate again. She supposed that it might be due to the fact he had a mate himself now. Wasn’t it Ion at the temple? Perhaps this was also his attempt at a date? She giggled imagining how glad the young pair would be to be alone for a while.

Back and forth, back and forth; Ion kept it up until she was soaked with sweat and tired dragging herself back to the shade of the temple she lay down and chose to sleep for a while hoping that her mind would finally let her get some rest. She closed her eyes and felt her mind start to drift off. It was strange she started to have a dream but mid way through her dream started to change. It was like she heard a voice whispering to her in soothing tones and telling her to relax because all was well.

Akori slowly descended down the temple at first checking the different foot holds he could use to climb down. Once he had a pretty good idea of how he was going to get down he picked up his pace and quickly got down on the ground. He walked a little bit forward waiting for Ritilanshia to get her things and they could start their journey towards the temple. It would be good to do something, he really needed to make more friends than just Ion and Marius so his days off weren’t wasted just staring at the sky. Well he supposed he did have a couple out of tribe friendsd but that hardly helped him and he had to admit he was looking forward to seeing Ion today.

It didn’t take her long to gather a pack for the trip. Coming back she found Akori waiting for her. Giving him a smile and wink she spoke when she got closer. “There may be a few extra little treats in the pack. Normally they would be left out, but with it being Ion at the temple and the length of your stay there uncertain..” Rit simply let the rest of her comment trail off into the nothingness of the desert heat. She had the pack slung across her back and would pass it to Akori once she had seen him safely off a ways toward the temple. Shifting her wings she was ready to be off. “Let us not dally. I look forward to rescuing Persephone form her torment of being overworked as a scribe.”

Ion’s dream was a paradise unending she was in a warm oasis water that was so clear she had no fear of being attacked by crocodiles. The water was cool without being cold and she was waiting for Akori to come and see her. She could see her jacket on the shoreline and with it the collar she had gotten as a gift. There was a soft breeze making the plants around the oasis dance and rustle, but it was more a lullaby rather than a simple rubbing of leaves.

Akori smiled at Ritilanshia’s words. While Persephone was the busiest scribe it wasn’t nearly as bad as when he was a kit and she was the only one. He was surprised that out of all the foxes to get sick during last year’s plague event she had remained pretty healthy. Luckily she now had Ion and Amatsu to help her out. As for the extra stuff in the pack, Akori didn’t think they would be out that long since he was going into his super busy time but the thought was nice and it was always good to be prepared. “Thank you for the consideration Ritilanshia. It was very thoughtful.” He replied already starting to go off in the supposed direction of the temple.

(I figure next post I’ll have him find Ion ^.^)

She smiled. He was good boy and she wanted him to have a bit of fun. It was like dealing with her brother Alamar sometimes though. Akori needed to unwind and cut loose every now and then. “Have fun shaman Akori.” With that she launched herself into the sky to follow Akori along his journey for a short time until she figured he was safe. With that she turned and headed back to the tribe to hunt down and rescue her mate for the tedious horror of her job.

Feeling a bit groggy Ion’s eyes opened slowly. It took a moment to reorient herself. She yawned lowly and closed her eyes hoping to let herself slip back into that glorious dream. Sadly it was just not to be. Her body had rested long enough and now wouldn’t let her sleep another moment. Getting up she checked over the temple again and finding everything in place she went and sat by the entrance. Looking up to the sky she growled and sighed. How long would it take for a shaman to get here? She was doing nothing but wasting time and she wanted something constructive to do. She hoped everything was alright, she would feel so bad if something happened on the way here.

(Thank you.)

He had tons of fun… mostly at either Marius or Kepi’s expense. However what other tribe members didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them, when they got close enough to the temple for Ritilanshia’s liking he waved the purple phim off and turned towards trekking the last portion of the journal. Mostly the temple got looked after by Eirene since it was one of the more outlying temples. However lately Horus had been using the other task scouts performed and that was sending them out to go and talk with other tribes.
Akori shook his head and focused back at the task at hand which was finding his oh so lovely mate. She had to be absolutely bored, but the trip was decided at the last minute. “Hey ION! Sorry I’m running late” he called out as soon as he saw her form.

Hearing a voice she looked up and was shocked to see Akori. She had no idea he was the shaman who was to come. Feeling very self conscious she sat and ran a paw through her hair and then pushed a bit on her collar. When had it gotten so hot here. “umm It’s not a problem.” She called back to him finally feeling a bit excited about seeing him. As the shock war off she got and trotted over toward him. When she reached him she gave him a gentle lick. Not wanting to slow up his duties as a shaman she gave him a quick report. “Everything is all gathered and set up the temple is clean and I’m not sure if I missed anything but I doubt it.” Especially given how much time she had taken setting everything and going over it with a careful eye and a steady paw. “I’m so happy to see you.” She nuzzled up against him nearly purring. “Thank you for coming.”
