Sometimes I over-reach and it's perfectly fine to make me reel it in a little. -QUOTE me to get my attention. I don't habitually check this thread when I'm not quoted / notified -Any Soq not on the market has a handy-dandy header saying so! Anyone who doesn't have a header like that is automatically open to offers (please pay attention to their birth date and any pickyness on my part). Foals are obviously excluded on principle -When possible I prefer to NOT be in charge of setting up RP threads, since I'm in college and I have a work study job to boot. That doesn't mean you can't ask, though!

Meet Mar
Mar is a rather large kelpi living in the lake next to the local village. Despite his looks, he's rather benign. In fact, he doesn't want to hurt anyone, and only eats flesh because he has to (it's a seafood diet anyhow). Even though he has a mate and kids, he's still rather awkward when socializing. He'll probably be the most deadpan dork you'll ever meet, but he has a good heart and kind intentions. Just don't threaten his family.
What Mar isn't apt to share is the fact that he comes from a very stereotypically kelpi herd, where they feasted on drowned victims and reveled in violence. He's since escaped that life and would like to avoid talking about it. This doesn't mean that his past can't haunt him no matter how far he's come.
Mar is currently looking for...
. You need friends, boy . Just a general call for Mar meeting ponies he talks to and sees more than once and so FRIENDSHIP. Because seriously so far he has his mate and his kids. It's kind of depressing. :'D Any kind of horse will do, he has no bias! He is a little wary around kalona and kelpi in case they have a sinister attitude. It's...probably better off if he doesn't meet anyone who's outright violent and short-tempered, though. It's hard to get a rise out of him and he's not one to fight so in a case like that the other horse will be very disappointed! (*Whispers* I'd really like him to meet other Kelpi, though. As well as Mer and seathi)
. Don't scare anyone, you big lug . Mar's a pretty large horse, generally imposing, and his black sclerae and Kelpi teeth just add to it. At the same time, he's a gentle giant. But what I want is for him to realize just how careful he needs to be around others; he needs to scare someone on sight. Someone skittish and kind of makes a show of it so then he actually kind of has to confront the problem. If someone just saw him and ran, he'd honestly just kind of shrug it off and go on his merry way. This can either be a single child or adult, or a child who sees him, runs off terrified, and gets an angry parent or guardian to yell at him. Or a skittish-trying-to-be-brave horse can tell him how dare he be so terrifying. As you can probably tell, this is meant to be a kind of humorous event. But it can actually be reflective and kind of sad! It's hard when you realize people are afraid of you despite doing nothing wrong. I'm open to any avenue this takes (excluding injury or serious danger) as long as it ends in some sort of closure and understanding. Bonus points if Mar manages to get a friend out of it somehow, as unlikely as that'd be considering the set-up.
. Eating meat is bad, you know! . Someone should try to make him go vegetarian. Just because it'd be a humorous exchange, I think. Mar would not get super defense, angry, or anything like that. Just confused.
. I hope senpai notices me . A mentor plot might be nice, either teaching someone about Kelpis or how to hunt fish, or swim, or what have you. Maybe mix and match? I'd PREFER if whoever else is involved doesn't develop a crush on him, but I can't stop anyone if they choose that. It can't be reciprocated if that's the case! Heck, it'd be cute if they were crushing on someone ELSE and knew Mar enough to be comfortable asking him for advice (spoiler: he'd be horrible at it)
Unlike his father, Rion is a pretty short stallion for one who ISN'T a flutter. He's social enough, but he might not know when he shouldn't speak his mind. He can also be PRETTY sarcastic and bullheaded, but he's a nice enough guy overall. He can be pretty easy-going and crack jokes, too. If he has any major issues, though, it's his height. His mom Celeste is small for a Wind Soq, and he's around her height, whereas his sisters are taller and his dad's pretty huge. So he's kind of Mister Overcompensative, here. Rion's pretty snappy about ANY comments about being shorty, even to the point that he might just be assuming someone's talking about it. So while he can be pretty chill, he's also quite capable of being a big huffy baby over dumb stuff.
Rion's also pretty competitive, and isn't afraid to show that side around girls, since his sisters were JUST as competitive as he is. He's not going to treat anyone like they're fragile dainty things, but he's not going to rough-house on the fly, either.
Not much can scare him, though, since he grew up with a big hulking kelpi dad who could easily scare off MOST things with just looking at them, but he's so totally harmless that Rion just kind of assumes that things aren't going to be dangerous despite how scary they may look. That might bite him in the a** someday.
Rion is looking for...
. I have no idea what I'm doing . He's...kind of directionless at this point in his life? Yes, he's finally gotten away from his parents, and is becoming an independent adult, but now he wonders the great big question: Now what? It'd be great to meet someone or some horses who could help give him meaning to his life, either through meditative conversation or pushing him to DO things. Adventure, exploration, a great journey...anything, really. Traveling companions would be swell!
. I'M NOT SHORT . This boy-o is....vertically challenged. SO. Someone should push his buttons about it! They wouldn't have to come out of the blue just to tease him about it; it can be more realistic where it builds up and once they realize it's his sore spot, uses it against him until he's in a huge rage.
. You have sharp teeth for a reason, buck-o . Rion needs to meet kelpi who are a bit more sinister and happily carnivorous and even...dangerous? He has to see the other side of that part of his heritage! They can even tempt him to take a walk on the wild side, if they're charismatic enough.
. Delivers lines with a flirty tone . Rion needs to leave the nest, grow up a little, and most importantly, find someone he'll fall head over heels for! Considering how awkward his parents are, this is going to be...interesting. For one, Rion doesn't know how to handle his feelings, nor would he really be able to get any advice from his elders (No, seriously, they'd just shrug and tell him he's s**t out of luck). If he starts crushing, expect a LOT of dorkery.
Since Rion and his family are special to me, I wouldn't settle for just backstory or anything like that. They have to click ICly. There has to be plenty of RP along the road, from meeting to becoming friends to finding they like one another. He can ONLY lifemate, and to someone who will be at his side 100% of the time. No IC drama, please. (However, his slots don't have to match up to whoever he gets with, and he won't hold them having kids prior against them. In fact, he'd probably love to meet their children at some point if that ends up being the case) While Rion thinks himself straight, I'm personally open to him falling for a dude. But again, they have to click.
OOCly, I'm going to care a little bit about colors, by which I mean I don't want anything that would outright clash. Something a little more natural is preferred, but since he has blues and purples in his own palette, I wouldn't say no to anything like that as long as they aren't painfully bright. When it comes to breed or edits, I'm not picky at all. Hair edits would be nice, but not necessary. I have no breed preferences, and neither does he. This extends to mers and minis as well. What I mainly care about is that he finds a perfect match, although I don't know what that would BE exactly. I think he could fall for a variety of personality types, barring anything outright malicious or ridiculously tsundere.

Meet Krio
Krio is the "adopted" son of Anaflexi and Mirat; they found a couple of baskets not long after a wishing star. Lexi had wished upon it for Mirat's sake, but she didn't have babies of all things in mind. Raised by nomadic parents who had no idea what they were doing, Krio came out of it emulating his emotionless father to a bit of an exaggerated degree.
Warning: he's a bit difficult to deal with. Krio is a blunt, cold creature. He's intelligent yet impatient with others, and is very vocal when he's getting tired of other horses' antics, topics of conversation, slowness compared to him mentally, etc. It's usually his way or the highway. You're also not allowed to be smarter than him.
Krio is currently looking for...
. Love: Does not compute . He's not actively looking for a mate, and never will be, but if someone comes along who can tolerate his nonsense as well as make him get his act together, AND spark his interest and curiosity? ...They'd be pretty special. Also, Krio is very homosexual. All I want for him is to meet a nice boy who will also not deal with his s**t and let him know that some aspects of his attitude are NOT okay. Someone who can make him grow as a character, but also can have adventures with him discovering new things! That would be great.
. Go to the past TODAY . Basically foal RP since I wasn't able to take care of that when he was ACTUALLY a foal! It could be with other kiddos or adults. I'm open to whatever! As a colt, Krio was much more curious and a little less a**l than he is now. Still could be pretty impatient, though.
. Baby daddy . Krio's open for being a surrogate for pairs who might need one of his sex. They would have to be IC friends, though, with IC consent to boot. He definitely would find the idea somewhat fascinating, but would distance himself a bit once the foals are born (it'd be super awkward and conflicting paternal feelings? What do?)
. Hey li'l mama let me whisper in your ear . FLIRTING or attempts thereof. Can either work or fall flat on his face. Does NOT have to lead to flings or mating. Would be funny if he tries flirting with full-size mares, to boot!
. I'm a WHAT . Mentos flings with a mare then finds out later that kids happened. Big dummy flails at this whole "dad" thing.
. I got you bro . Mentos becomes BFFs with someone who either will end up being a wingman for him or vice versa. Because good bros don't leave other bros hanging!

Meet Sorrow
Silent Sorrow came from the Putti lands with the rest of the tribes, as quiet and friendless as always. With more space, she took to following random horses of interest, quietly loping right along while avoiding humans and of course the more foreboding of equines (skin walkers, kalonas, etc). She's responsive to stimuli and understands what people say to her. Sorrow isn't above responding, either. She just...likes following strangers for long spans of time, detaching, and latching onto someone else. It probably makes up for not being able to talk.
Sorrow is without parents, siblings, or kin of any kind that could be bothered about her. It seems that any she had are gone or never left the old lands to begin with.
Sorrow is currently looking for...
. A sickly sourness fills the room; the bitter harvest of a dying bloom . Sorrow follows the wrong kind of horse, or an ill-tempered one, and eventually gets injured from it. Nothing TOO violent, of course; just a warning kick or some such that leaves a mark.
. Sounding board . Since Sorrow never talks, someone can just chat away and bounce thoughts off of her. It's basically monologuing but doesn't feel TOTALLY weird! Also friendships could happen? Maybe?
. A silent companion . RP-required flings! Sorrow tends to follow other horses around, so if she finds a couple of male Usdia who tolerate her company...a temporary thing could happen? Sorrow would leave the children with the dad, though. I would prefer A parent or relative of a parent if applicable instead of just abandoning the kids, if possible.
. Uhhhhh...love? . Sorrow could either fall for one of her flings OR she could eventually fall for a full-sized male Soq. I personally would find it really cute, despite how they wouldn't be able to breed. Both would of course be free to exhaust their breedings until mating and then perhaps a wishing star? This would probably be the FIRST time Sorrow would actually raise a child of hers, unless she helped a to-be stallion raise his children from another breeding.
Hero grew up with her pure gryph mother and half-gryph siblings. All of them had wings except for her. Sure, a sibling lacked claws or feathers, but even so. They could fly. The gryph community she was raised in could all fly, while she was stuck on the ground. From a young age, she was jealous. She was never bullied outright, only teased, but even so, she internalized it. For the longest time, she hated herself and bemoaned her existence for being the wingless child. As she started coming out to the world, however, she realized that others lacked wings, too. Those in winged families, no less. It wasn't as bad as it seemed...but something else took its place. Compared to regular soq, she was short. Average height for her family, but short compared to other horses who did not hail from the desert. Hero started to realize that life isn't fair. For some, the odds are stacked against them no matter what they do. And so she became bitter on a wider scale. She's snappy, short-tempered, and not willing to deal with anyone's stupid comments or observations. The little gryph is a spunky, barbed lady.
While snide, she has a great wit, and a surprising sense of humor beneath all of her simmering ire.
Hero is currently looking for...
. EXPLETIVE EXPLETIVE EXPLETIVE . Hero yells a lot. She should totally have a friend she can yell at who yells back. It's basically harmless bickering! I can't say it'd be like "cuss buddies" per se but there would be a lot of name-calling. :'D There would also be a lot of venting. It'd be an honestly healthy friendship, I swear.
. But your wings are beautiful . Hero has super duper wing envy. Can be kalona, wind, gryph, suti, angeni, ALL THE WINGS. And the only thing she'll compliment, and quietly at that...are wings. Don't expect her to be sympathetic if your Soq likes to complain about their wings, though. But she should meet winged ponies! And fawn over their wings.
. Calling all gryphs . Hero wants to meet more gryphs, gryph crosses, gryph hybrids, etc. Meeting another half-gryph who doesn't have wings would be good for her, too! But gryphs. Gryphs are important to this girl. If they're from the desert or have ancestral ties there, it's a bigger bonus!
. The Caravan . Someone or someones want to go to the desert, and being a half-gryph, Hero is asked to be a guide. This is beneficial for her because it gets her back home for a bit, and it benefits others who want to brave the treacherous landscape for the first time
. What is love . Hero herself personally isn't looking, at least not actively, but that doesn't mean she isn't willing to court PERIOD. ICly, it will just be kind of tough. She's abrasive, and a strong independent young lady. Wooing will be...a very interesting affair.
Wings are an absolute must. No matter what, there needs to be wings that are large enough to fly with on whatever stallion she pairs up with. With her complex, Hero wants to avoid passing on her fate as much as she can. Wind, flutter, kalona, 'gryph, 'suti, angeni, half-angeni, she's not picky; I'm not picky. ICly, she has a bit of a preference for a pure gryph, but I don't. Colors-wise, I want to mix with colors like her own. I've been leaning more towards being interested in orange-based palettes, but I'll happily pair her with pale / white, or purple, even some desaturated blues, or anything like that that works with her colors. I'm preferring warmer colors for her, mainly, but I'm flexible. HOWEVER I'd like to avoid palettes that are primarily 80% gray to outright black with little to no markings. It just bores me to death. There might be exceptions, but I will be a little choosy on the matter. :'D I'm not picky about edits at all. They're not required. Whether it be hair or feathers, they can be templated as long as I like the colors and there are wings. Personality-wise, I want someone who can handle her. My dream would be someone who she could banter but also argue with, and would argue back, but she can get with a nice boy too. But I think she'd prefer someone who was on equal standings with her, who can take and dish out snark and snide as easy as she can. Bonus points if that's a side that only comes out occasionally and surprises her.
Sonny is Mar's miracle child, and Rion's baby sister. And she's a very...interesting foal, at that. While her family is protective of her (she's basically replaced her older Wind sister Riam, who ran away from home without a word), she's very excitable, friendly, and so gung-ho that she's somewhat tactless. Nevertheless, she's a pure sweetheart who wants to be friends with EVERYONE, no matter the attitude or looks. No one knows where she got all that energy from. It's kind of terrifying.
This is someone who would walk up to a skinwalker and start geeking if her dad or brother didn't keep her from doing so. She...might be a little reckless and over-enthusiastic like that. She's so curious that she'll probably get herself seriously injured. Even as an adult, her parents are keeping her close.
Living in a stationary family unit, Sonny's starting to get bored. Her parents don't go beyond the village to the west or the beach to the south. They are also rather fussy about her, and she can't fathom why. The girl is getting understandably restless.
Sonny is currently looking for...
. You're...tall . Sonny's closer to her father's size. Someone notices this. Maybe a boy who has compensation issues because of it (gee how is THAT familiar) OR someone could use it to proudly show how smaller is better. Whatever works!
. Leaving the nest . She meets someone who gives her that push to head out on her own. Whether it's someone who leaves her with words to think about, or someone who offers to be her traveling companion, all that matters is that it kick-starts her independence.
. Bet on the wrong horse . Sonny believes there's good in EVERYONE. Even skinwalkers. Even...purewalkers. I intend for her to meet one (skin or purewalker) who tries to play that card to get her to trust them (either pretending to be a tortured soul, or Not Like The Others, or...seemingly decent?), and then shows her just how wrong that was. This would be an understandably violent occurrence, and would probably be more backstory than tangible RP, considering the RP guidelines that are in place.
Foal plots
Sonny currently has balance problems due to having wings as well as a heavy kelpi tail. She's wobbly and off-center, can't swim very well due to her wings being rather non-aquatic, and once she learns how to fly, her tail will weigh her down. While she refuses to admit it, she has her own problems that anyone can notice by just looking at her amble about.
. HELLO FRIENDS . Foal RP, plain and simple.
. Tiny Tim . Someone notices Sonny's awkward gait and tries to figure out how to help her walk normally. It helps if it's someone who has also had cross-breed problems as a foal, but it's sure not required. A bleeding heart is better than no heart at all.
Note: Any RP Sonny has with an adult while she's still a foal would have to include Mar or Rion baby-sitting her in the meantime. :U They're too protective to let her go off on her own with someone way bigger than her.
No nibbles yet? I guess I get to be first :3 I'd love to RP Fidget with Mar. She recently almost drowned and got a nasty scare from the kelpi-mix who pulled her out. She's been told she has to face her fears so she is likely to try to see what she can do... just at a different body of water. Seeing him would probably make her nervous, but she's very friendly so she would TRY to be nice even though she'd rather obviously be skittish about him. If that got sorted, maybe he could teach her to swim and show her that not all kelpies (or lakes, rivers, whatever) need to make her nervous.
I have another character who could mesh interestingly with Mar as well, but it would need to wait on plots to finish. It shouldn't be too long, I've already got the biggest RP underway and the others shouldn't be very slow.Iphis would be most likely to respond with horror seeing someone eating meat and try to convince Mar to stop. The idea makes him sick, which is why the fact that he has an uncontrolable craving for flesh makes him miserable, and he would try to persuade Mar to stop as sort of an argument against himself. He's not good on conflict though, so the arguement wouldn't likely last all that long. He'd likely just be sort of depressing about it towards the end. If Mar were agressive about it, Iffy would probably fold, he's in the process of being mauled so he'd definitely not want to appear like he's up for a fight after experiencing that. Not that he ever really was in the first place, but even more so now.

I am totally down for BOTH of those, oh jeez. /)w( Mar isn't particularly aggressive about anything, he's really rather " 8l " more often than not, haha. But he would be like "Why do you even care neutral " after a bit about Iphis. I do feel sorry for the guy, though! Awwww.
Great! I noticed you'd rather if I started them, or at least the first one. Like I said, Iffy has a few plots that need to catch up first, I'd rather not be too far ahead of myself x.x
Is there a particular place Mar tends to be? Or anything you would want me to include in the set up of the RP with Fidget?

Mar's primarily around or in the lake next to the Kawani village! The farthest he goes is the other side to the east or down the the beach below. 3nodding
I have a bunch of Soquili from my Thunderbird Herd who may want to meet Lexi. They are wind-exclusive, so while they wouldn't rag her too much on being a crossbreed, they may stress the importance of making sure whatever mate she eventually chooses as wings as well.
