The last time he'd been in the Haunted House, he'd met that lovely human, the one with the pretty hair and the flower crowns and the - what had she called it? - selfies, that was it; and it was with this hope that Llyr found himself again in the House, wandering vaguely around without any particular destination in mind.
He wondered if Solia would be here; and if she was, he wondered if she would take a picture again.
(He'd kind of liked the pictures.)
Still, after his recent...well, whatever it was - his lockup with that infernal creature holding the strings to their fates, Llyr was grateful to once again be out and about. The Haunted House was not exactly picturesque, but there was a certain familiarity about it all the same that relaxed him.
He touched a wall with long, nimble fingers and thought again of Solia, and whether all humans were that kind and pretty.

Another day, another tour of the Haunted House. It never ceased to amaze Evan how many rooms he had walked through that bore no resemblance to one another. Some features were similar, he supposed, but he had never gone through the exact same room twice. Noting the details made the time between insertion into the hostile territory and locating a target go by a little faster. Fortunately for Evan, there wasn't much of that downtime today. He spotted a monster--at least, he was certain enough that it was a monster; it didn't look totally human but he had been fooled before--fairly quickly. Unfortunately for Llyr, Evan wasn't kind to monsters, though he was pretty--pretty homicidal.

Evan's smile was all teeth as he summoned Gir, not bothering to sneak up behind his prey. A board creaked beneath his feet, costing him the element of surprise. HP: 50/50 Damage: Charge: 0/3; 1/1, 1/1

If it weren't for the board creaking, Llyr would never have noticed his attacker, and most likely wouldn't have been able to do anything to defend himself, not that he was particularly inclined towards fighting anyway. As it was, Evan's untimely footstep made him pause, Llyr tilting his head to the side. Slowly he turned, and caught sight of the human behind him, his brows lifting in mild surprise as water began to swirl around the edges of his feet, blurring his form just a little.
"Oh," he said pleasantly. "Are you a hunter? Are you a nice one?"

It was for the best that the monster had turned around. Evan liked a full frontal assault better than a sneak attack anyway, and the mysteriously appearing water gave Evan proof that this was not, in fact, a human, and so he did not, therefore, have to take it any kind of easy. "Yes, I am," he growled. He slashed at the creature with the front of his weapon, using the longer teeth to slice through flesh and Fear. Gir howled, exultant, as he devoured it. "And no, I'm not." For a brief moment, Llyr almost believed him. He was smiling, at the very least, and Llyr opened his mouth to say something, anything, most likely something about how he had found the previous humans he'd met to be rather nice.
He never got the chance.
The weapon whisked out, slicing through the air, and it caught him across the chest. Pain ricocheted up and down Llyr's torso, and he staggered back, his eyes widening, the smile slipping from his face as he struggled to pull his robes back to their proper place, smoothing a hand down the fabric.
"That," he said, "is not indicative of being nice. You are not a nice human."
He twisted a hand, and water shot towards the hunter, little pellets of liquid, Llyr's hair falling over his shoulder in dark waves. His chest still ached, the chains clinking as he moved, but he tried to ignore that, because maybe this was a game; maybe the human was merely saying hello.
Or maybe not.

"Shut up and die," Evan replied, as if the monster's opinion of how nice a human he wasn't needed solidifying--as if it mattered. Its thoughts and feelings were less than inconsequential. They didn't really have any, anyway; they were nonentities, only giving themselves human appearances to make the ignorant and the weak-willed feel sorry enough to sympathize with them. Evan didn't care what face it wore. It wasn't a human and it wasn't an animal, so clearly it needed to die. The logic was sound enough for him. The monster shot him with something wet and it didn't hurt any more than getting rained on. He hesitated, just for a second, as he waited for the liquid to combust or corrode or do something other than get him wet, because wasn't that the nature of these creatures? It couldn't ever be just as simple as water, could it? Nothing happened. Apparently it could. Good to know. If all this freak was going to come at him with was a water gun, this wasn't even going to be a challenge. Still, that didn't mean they couldn't play with it for a little while. Evan advanced, swinging Gir like a baseball bat at the monster's side. HP: 46/50 Damage: 5 Charge: 1/3; 1/1, 1/1

Shut up and die.
It was rather like a slap in the face. Llyr stared at the hunter with wide eyes, water sliding over his hands, curling around his fingers as the weapon slammed into his side, sending him careening into the nearest wall. He struggled upright, breathing heavily, and pressed a hand to his throbbing torso.
It was a terrible, stark contrast to Solia and her flower crowns and selfies; this human was brash and rude and terrible, his eyes filled with nothing but a desire to see him gone; and Llyr did not like being treated as though he were a mere object; an insect to be crushed under the hunter's boots.
The water swirled faster now, whipping at his ankles.
"You are very unpleasant," said Llyr, and stretched out his hand again, directing it towards the human. The water twisted and undulated, briefly touching his outstretched fingertips; and then it rocketed forward, careening at the human with a sudden, desperate speed.

Very unpleasant, it called them, as if its words might sting where its attack failed completely. The water splashing around them wasn't given half a thought, as meaningless as the creature's opinion of them. Hell, to be called unpleasant by something that was, by definition, unpleasant might even have been a compliment. If the monster thought they were a monster, what did that really make them? It was a question to ponder later, after they got back to the island and changed into some dry clothes. At that moment, in that situation, they weren't feeling introspective at the freak's opinion of them; they felt empowered by it. "Shut up," Evan said. "Die faster." The monster's outstretched limb was a target, and Evan brought his weapon down on it like it had been drawn there. HP: 46/50 Damage: 10 Charge: 3/3; 1/1, 1/1

He made a soft sound of disappointment, because the water hadn't produced the effect that Llyr had wanted it to. The human was either too strong, or perhaps just too far into his own emotions to notice, and Llyr stepped backwards, his heart beginning to beat more rapidly inside of his chest.
He saw what was happening a split second before it happened, but he didn't have time to move fast enough to prevent it.
The weapon came down in a clean arc, straight onto Llyr's outstretched arm, and it hit its target with a sharp, slick crack. Llyr gave a sharp gasp, half a scream, and he stumbled backwards, drawing his now bleeding wrist towards him, cradling it against his stomach as he pressed himself against the wall, breathing heavily.
"You," he said, and then stopped and tried again, anger tinging his voice. "Why must you act as though I have done something to warrant this sort of malice?"

The crunch of bone was deeply satisfying, as was the accompanying scream. Yes, they could take their prey apart piece by piece. They hadn't tried that before; it might be fun.It wasn't even bothering to fight back anymore, though. Maybe it was smart enough to know when it was beaten--and yet it wasn't smart enough to know when to keep its mouth shut. They had wanted to play with it a little more, but it was quickly growing tiresome. Still, its question was one that Evan could easily answer. "You exist," he growled in response. "That's enough." He thrust his weapon forward and the Fear coating the teeth of the blade exploded on contact, solid fragments flying uncontrollably around the room. It barely hurt them this time; maybe they were learning some control. HP: 40/50 Damage: 27 Charge: 0/3; 1/1, 1/1 kuroopu whispers sorry u saddest sobbing
