	Imperial soldiers are warriors first and foremost. They must show their abilities in mastering the warrior arts. Destroy the targets!: Straw targets have been placed all over the practice field. Your horseman must destroy at least 10 of them in the given 60 seconds Roll 1d6: Subtract that from 60 seconds AND match your rolled results to the dice rolls below. If your character hits 0 seconds and they have not destroyed 10 targets it is GAME OVER Roll a 1: Miss! You missed the target by a far. Try again! Roll a 2: You hit yourself instead! Ouch! Roll a 3-6: Target hit! Good job! GOAL: Get 10 targets before you hit 0 seconds! UPON COMPLETION: You have done it! Your horseman gains the IMPERIAL SOLDIER PASSIVE ABILITY: Imperial Soldier passive ability: Your horseman can craft one long ranged weapon to use. If they already have a weapon, they can modify their existing weapon into a long ranged one. - In battle, you may summon that weapon in battle. It does +1 additional damage for the first 3 turns you use it.

	Lan had failed to pass her noble test. Failed. It was the worst thing that was utterly huliating and frankly she didn’t think she was a failure. She thought she was good at what she did. Why then had she failed> Why had she come so close only to have come so short? Lan’s self loathing had returned in spades and she was not exactly up to trying again. She was better off trying her skill at other things. Maybe she could just kive the life of a minor wife to some actual noble who had probably done a lot better than her and wouldn’t mind a failure of a wife who’s only claim to her station had come from blood. Glum and depressed she had gone home to mope in her house, not wishing to see anyone, talk to anyone, deal with anyone. How could she after all? She was a failure. A pathetic noble who had no right to call herself such. And what was the worst part about all this was the fact that she knew she was being hard on herself but really it was all she could do. Her will was broken and her pride shattered. She was noble in name only. She was not fit to act, fit to lead. Haunting memoires of the past surfaced, Ghostly faces of those who had served under her asking just why she had sent them to their deaths, asking why she had been so foolish, incompetent. She cried inside over those memories, wishing she could have turned back time to stop herself. To just redo that horrific event that took so much from her. Granted she had grown stronger in time, she had not and had never felt as happy as she had back then. Sure, new friends, independence, but worlds away from her dreams, from what had been the life she’d known and had ever expected. Her own thoughts a mess she sought solice in an old journal, in memories and notes she’d left behind to contemplate later. Looking back there was one thing she had done once upon a time to feel she was worthy of her rank, or her title. To start at the bottom and work her ways back up. It was a chance, but, it was something. It was a start. Mengyao, Lifen, Invictus- She might have failed to be noble, but if anything, she could try again. To regain it later. Noon- out on the field, Lan stood, ready with her bow taking aim at the target. A noble had to be everything? Then she would master the ranks. Each and every one before she’s take back her title of nobility.

	A solid hit for her first shot, Lan felt that glimmer of hope but crushed it herself. She couldn’t get cocky. She couldn’t think she was any better than anyone else. She was lower than who she’d been once before. It was her job to rank back up, to prove to not just herself but to others that she was worthy, that she was indeed, befit the rank of her birth.

	Another arrow into the target, yet she’d eaten time. If she was not careful, she might get all her arrows in, but if she failed to stay within her time it would have all have been for nothing. Then what would she have proven other than the fact she had no time management. No- she would do this. Even if she missed once or twice- she was determined to get all her arrows in.

	Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, Lan fired again. Stay focused. Don’t think about the number, the time. Just stay focused on the fact she had a goal, and that was to get her arrows on target. She could do this. She was not acting as a noble, she was acting as a soldier. She was acting as a fighter. As one who would fight to pave the way to victory. 11 seconds

	One sixth of her time gone they said. Lan didn’t listen she blocked them out. She had to. Her mind had to keep on track. The heat of the sun, the feeling of sweat from the heat, from her nervousness, the hum of bugs, the watching eyes- block it out ignore it all. Focus on the target, take aim, and fire.

	The string and arrow snapped back, and though she felt it’s sting she ignored it. Time was moving. She couldn’t waste it by thinking about pain. Keep firing, keep aiming. Keep fighting to prove everyone that she was worth it. 17 3/10
