[Mentor PRP] Once you find your center [Estel/Shun]

Shun sat there, relaxing himself in the reaper gardens. It had been a little while since he had his last lesson with Estel. He had spent some time trying to find the ghost, but wasn't able to pinpoint her just yet. And so he was just taking a sort of break before he was going to go off and hunt her down again. The lack of a real means to contact her outside of just running into her was a bit of an inconvenience.

The reaper closed his good eye and began to clear his mind.

Estel had a knack for finding people when she was looking for them - this talent, unfortunately, did not extend both ways. In other words, she had no idea when somebody was looking for her.

It just so happened, though, that she had felt like climbing a wall, and the reaper garden had nice walls. Jumping down on the other side, she tried to look casual. Somehow, she hadn't got in trouble yet, but she had a feeling this school was a little odd about rules.

Recognizing Shun, she made her way over. He was... asleep? Thinking? Either way, she didn't want to bother him.

Estel set her bag down quietly on the ground and then stretched out on her side, hovering an inch above the ground and using her school bag as a pillow. Whenever he realized he was here, he could wake her up.

The reaper heard a slight rustle nearby, but he didn't pay it any mind just yet. He continued to meditate there for awhile longer before his eye opened up. It didn't take long for him to realize that Estel was laying on the ground nearby.

"..Oi. There you are," he stated, looking her over.

Had she fallen asleep here?

"'llo." Estel rolled over on her back, looking up at him upside-down. "How're you?"  

[Blade Kuroda]

Shun gave a light shrug in response, "Doing well. I was looking for you, actually."

The man rolled his shoulders, thinking things over briefly before he continued to talk.

"How familiar are you with meditation?"  

[Luridel]

Estel sat up, still hovering in midair. "Good! Um, why? There isn't really much to it."  

[Blade Kuroda]

"Good. I want you to begin meditating before we begin with our practices. About ten minutes should be sufficient. Basically something to help clear you mind and be focused for whatever task we're performing for the day," Shun explained. Since she was already pretty familiar with it, or so she claimed, he wouldn't really need to explain the process much. Though, as she said, there wasn't a whole lot to it. Even so, some people had a more difficult time with it than others. He was sure Mitsu more or less fell asleep at least once.  

[Luridel]

"Sure, okay." Folding her hands in her lap, Estel smiled. "You think it'll make a difference?" She wasn't trying to be dismissive, she just wasn't sure why it was necessary. Then again, maybe staying calm during real fights was something you had to learn.  

[Blade Kuroda]

"It can't hurt. Keeping a clear head is paramount, whether you're in a spar or in a fight for your life," the reaper stated, "Mediation also aids with breathing techniques... though I suppose that's somewhat less important for a ghost or undead."

They could still breathe if they wanted to though, right? He wasn't actually certain about that.

"...Anyway. When something comes up, you typically won't have time to sit somewhere and meditate, especially if violence is breaking out. But, you can apply some of the techniques an an attempt to center yourself and regain focus. Another key is to remain relaxed if possible. Having a completely tense body will lock you in place."

After a pause, he added, "So relax and clear your mind. We'll move on to other things once we've finished."  

[Luridel]

"Okay. That's fair." Estel didn't need to breathe, although it was a habit she hadn't yet broken.

"Lemme know when it's time, then." Reaching for her schoolbag, she pulled it onto her lap, wrapped her arms around it, and shut her eyes.

Clearing her mind wasn't exactly difficult for Estel, although if she were to be completely honest with herself, she found it boring. Directions were directions, though, so she sat still.

With a nod, Shun let out a slow breath, then closed his eye once more. He may as well do it alongside her.

After the time more or less went by, he opened his eye again, then called out to her, "And done."

The reaper got up and stretched, then looked around.  

[Luridel]

Estel opened her eyes and sat up a little straighter, nodding. "Okay." She didn't really feel more or less calm, but she had been calm before.

Standing up, her feet finally touching the ground again, she set her bag down. "So, what's next?"

"There's a couple of things we can do here. We can go over striking techniques, or if you wish to change things up some, we can do something non-combat. However, it's something you can apply to a combat situation at times," Shun replied.

[Luridel]

Non-combat... but useful in combat? Whatever he was talking about, it sounded useful. "Hmm? What's that? Let's do that."

"Silent movement. Going about stealthily, in other words. Being able to sneak around is more than just staying unseen, after all. It can be used to help avoid confrontation, or give you an upperhand should your opponent not be aware of where you are exactly."
