NAME OF CLASS CHORE: Trashology 101
PROFESSOR NAME: Moira *********, Professor Janitor

General Information: In Trashology 101, students will learn the valuable skills of cleanliness and machine operation. All around campus, trash and waste and other icky things are taken care of by Moira's sorta-patented Trashbot Waste Disposal Units! But they need to be emptied sometimes and there's just too many of them for Moira to handle on her own...

The Course: The Trashbot Waste Disposal Units (or Trashbots) zip around the campus and collect trash, etc. before returning to their home base in Moira's Fortress of Janitorial Solitude. This home base is a massive, warehouse-like room with a cold concrete floor, rusting steel girders, and a rather pervasive smell. The Waste Disposal Chutes are also set into the floor - huge tubes that lead down to a rather foul cavern below, infested with all manner of vermin. Students must deal with the Trashbots... by whatever means necessary.

Did we mention that the Trashbots are ten-foot-tall ramshackle monstrosities of rusting metal, covered in blades and dumpsters and rust? And that they don't particularly like letting go of a thing once they have it? And that their programming as to what counts as 'trash' is spotty at the best of times?

Mechanics - Group:

Students that enter in groups of 2 or more must face a different challenge! This challenge may be met by very large groups if desired, so if you want to form a mini-army of Trash Soldiers, feel free!

When the students enter, each of them are snatched up by a Trashbot, and no matter how hard they struggle they can't quite get free... but they can sort of steer the Trashbots around! The goal is to steer the Trashbots into each other in order to free your fellow students and yourself from their stinky grips.

Each Trashbot has 20 HP. To attack another Trashbot, you must roll for two things: your damage and your accuracy.

With each post, roll 2d6. The first dice is your ACCURACY, if you hit or not! Even you hit, odd you miss! The second dice is your DAMAGE. There are no modifiers: whatever the second dice rolls is the damage you deal to your target!

Remember in each post to state both your target (i.e. Character A's Trashbot) and your own Trashbot's HP! Keep in mind you are damaging the Trashbots only - character HP is completely unaffected.

Once your Trashbot hits 0 HP, it deactivates and releases you. At that point, you should move out of the way lest you be stepped on by an active Trashbot! Students cannot attack Trashbots from the sidelines until there is only one active Trashbot left on the field.

When there is only one Trashbot left 'alive', the students on the sidelines may begin attacking by throwing trashbags at it! The dice roll is the same as before: 2d6, first dice for accuracy, second for damage.

When all Trashbots are deactivated, students are kindly asked to dump any loose garbage down the Waste Disposal Chutes before leaving. Moira thanks you!

YOU LOSE/FINISH THIS CLASS WHEN...

- You are at any point in time grabbed and thrown into the waste disposal chute. That means you have to START OVER to try again! You may do so in the same thread or a new one if you decide to attempt again at a later date.

Zar was a fastidiously clean demon, it was part of how he managed to keep control of his life, how he managed to reassure himself that he was more than just a monster. As such he found himself disturbed by most mess. Down here was more than what he'd consider "most mess", the room was enormous, filled with robots and smelled absolutely horrendous. He felt his stomach twist at the wall of foul decay, he liked his food alive, smelling like life and musk. Certainly not this.

And then there were the robots. He didn't trust technology one iota, it was wild and unpredictable and you couldn't read it. If he touched a robot all he felt was cold steel, it could not be persuaded or controlled. He really, really didn't like them, it was more accurate to say that he feared them, and these ones seemed entirely apt to fear, charging around dangerously with what seemed like only the most rudimentary programming.

He felt like they were watching them.

Barth, on the other claw, had very little difficulty with mess (although expecting him to clean it was another matter). Still, this seemed less like cleaning and more like a rudimentary technological issue. IE, convincing trashbots to divest their weekly collection.

"You would think," he said, more quietly in case Moira was listening, "they would have installed an emptying directive. ...Rather err, tall, aren't they?" Still, unbothered by the smell of decay (stagnation was also sort of his thing), Barth inched towards the closest bot.

He tapped it with one claw.

"Err. Hello. Trashbot- do you have a unit number? B875. There's a good fellow. We were sort of hoping, if you didn't mind...you see the tubes over there?"

Barth unfortunately didn't get past his first round of questioning. He was cut off with a "H-hurk!" As the trashbot identified him (perhaps rightly) as garbage. "Not...not quite what I meant," he said weakly, the arm around his waist a smidge tight. It lifted him with extreme ease.

"Z-Zar. A little he-HELP."

Zar's deep apprehension about the looming robots vanished almost immediately as Barth addressed one and as a result, drew their attention for the time being. He did take a single step back though as the Sloth demon decided it was a good idea to tap the heap of junk and address it as if it was some manner of living creature.

The schadenfreude as the other demon was seized was tremendous. "Wow you really are a wizard with robotics." he drawled sarcastically and was going to gloat just a bit when he noticed one of the other robots eyeing him with intention.

He splayed his claws in a placatory fashion. "Now now, lets not be hasty. I am much too clean to -" And he, like Barth found himself hoist aloft by a rampant robot.

"Oh COME ON." he hissed angrily, flaring his wings as much as he could and wriggling in the creation's grasp. Inorganic, unreasonable. He LOATHED them. And a flailing ball of razor sharp wingclaws, talons and kicking hooves as he was, he veered his robot into Barth's and tried to give it as much of an assault as he could manage.

The grip- had it loosened? Very slightly?

"Sorry. Sorry," Barth apologized sympathetically to the bot. It was just...overenthusiastic, is all. It hadn't been programmed for discernment. Still. Just a little more jostling and he might be able to wriggle free.

"Zar I think- we might try, a bit more of THAT-urk, n-not so hard."

Barth's bot crunched unsteadily into Zar's.

Zar was not happy about the prospect of ending up in a rubbish tip. It had given him a new lease of life and vigor he did not normally display. The fact he could destroy a robot even if it was not his robot made all the difference.

"I am NOT sorry." he snarled to his own robot, what composure he normally displayed completely thrown to the wind in the face of captivity. In fact he'd even resorted to his much lesser used capacity for slipperiness, something he staunchly did not normally do. Keeping himself away from other creature's waste was more important than ruining one set of clothes with slime.

Unfortunately the bot had him securely in its grip, holding on even behind his horns, so for the time being it was simply to no avail.

He was much too panicked in the moment to focus on steering the robot.

"Yes, well, a little to the left-" Struggling was not really Barth's forte.

The robot toddered right past Zar.

"Don't panic. It's alright, they're really- very...very nicely constructed, aren't you? Are you with me, Zar? You have to- stay calm. I'm sure they'll...they'll just put us down now any second."

"It can't hear you." Zar hissed. "It is just a useless lump of metal and refuse! Stop trying to pander to it! JUST KICK IT."

Admittedly his own kicking the side of his robot repeatedly was doing very little other than to start to tire him out, but he would adamantly not give up. He really hadn't mastered the whole steering the damn robot thing, that was still a little beyond him.

"Kick?"

Barth sounded a little scandalized.

"Oh yes. In your case perhaps you can just talk it round. Maybe you can fit it with ears first, and sentience. That won't take long at all!" His tail thrashed like an angry cat as he arched his back and tried to buck himself free, but if there was one thing to be said for these robots, they were very sturdily manufactured and all he managed to do was distress himself further and swipe an arc of slime across the room.

"This is the singular worst class I have ever attended!" he let out a shriek of rage and indignity and curling himself up again threw his weight into careening his robot straight into Barth's with all of his strength, kicking out with both hooves as hard as he could.

"As for me, I'll be here. KICKING things."

The rattling admittedly did do some damage.

"Poor fellow," Barth said, sagging defeatedly into the grip of his robot. "I don't want to damage them- I suppose, well, I suppose they'll get fixed up after, won't they?"

"They are robots so probably there will be some unfortunate soul who has nothing better to do with his time than put their broken parts back together again I'm sure!" He narrowed his eyes from the upside down grip he'd twisted himself into. "BUT OF COURSE THEIR WELFARE IS IMPORTANT"

"You are important," Barth implored. "Stand err, stand back, a bit. Can you follow directions? Right, do you know right-" Barth's robot jarred into Zar's.

He still felt sort of bad about it.

"Well that is a start." Zar said, still desperately trying to keep his robot away from the chutes with absolutely no idea how to begin to steer it. The compromising twist he'd managed to get himself into really didn't help matters one bit, it took a lot of untangling his limbs even to be able to correct his trajectory as he ricocheted away from Barth's robot.

"You just need to do that about fifty more times and maybe, just maybe I will get out of here intact." His robot for a brief moment seemed to be heading towards Barth before its wheels slipped on some of the stuff Zar was still dripping onto the floor and scooted off in a whole other direction.

"Oh for the love of -"

Barth's robot managed to lightly clip Zar's, in spite of all the skidding.

"Hahahurrk. Ha. A bit like. A bit like bumper carts, isn't it?"
