Normally the first to introduce himself, normally so careful to be polite, Harland had never thought of the monsters and creatures in the dark as civil and he had certainly never thought he owed them anything.
Coyote, on the other hand, used to feel pain at being weaponized. It could be worse, he supposed. Like this, he would live forever.
As it spoke, however, it called him an a**. "Pardon?" Harland asked, as he whipped his razor-wire chain in a horizontal line towards the creature.

Lumbering back in the fog to try and hide Zaire hissed. This guy was strong, sludgesticks. A dart of glowing eyes and he bit his lip, hearing it call back. Hurting already when the gleaming weapon of the human hit him a second time, a pained cry was given.
"What's your jacking problem!" Bellowing out the monster saw red, glowing eyes intensifying on the man.
Cuts, he could feel them seeping out as arms lowered. The product of attempting to defend himself, via throwing up both arms to try and back away like a lion being tamed. Hadn't worked out so well and neither did his anger fueled fear attack, his tail missed the man by a mile and ended up just cutting at the air near him.

Something lashed near him, and Harland jumped back, his white duster billowing behind him as he cut through the fog in a hurry. "I think it's ... talkin' to me?" Harland said, surprised and a little distressed by the notion.
☆≼Maybe,≽ Coyote said, ☆≼or maybe it's all in your head.≽ He seemed thoroughly amused with himself, and Harland wasn't sure what was so funny.
Coyote was referring to the fact he knew the Halloween creature was talking, because he had once been one, and now he was condemned to Harland's head. They were made for each other, but he had not always been for obvious reasons.

It was frustrating that his claws didn't seem to do much damage when against others he had fought they brought bloody screams. What was so different about this one, if anything he would be weaker. Right? Because that would make more sense than a human that could feel no pain. "..What are you.." Zaire growled, a second swipe with claws coming this one aimed hard and fast to hurt. If this guy didn't feel some pain soon, well, he would have to try and make an escape. Ending up in a pumpkin patch wasn't what he wanted at all, even though it wasn't really dying it was still...pretty horrible. Not to mention there was a chance his core could be jacked up.
A goosebump for his own thoughts ran the monsters skin, blue eyes focused on the man as his attack was launched. Yeah, he would definitely be attempting to run before ending up in the patch. The fog while it was annoying, didn't impair his vision unlike it seemed to be doing with the other. And that, that meant it could be used as potential cover for his potential flee when that time happened to come. Zaire had to smirk at his own brilliance, even through the pain he so obviously felt from that damn weapon that had lashed out before even a hi.
