Saddest Anime, when a character dies

Well the first saddest anime movie I've seen has to be Grave of the Fireflies, always gets to me. He just messes up so much lol. Then probably Clannad: After Story, it's one that actually got me mad at what they did, I won't spoil anything incase someone hasn't watched it. Umm.. can't really think of any else that actually made me cry right now but they're probably others but wouldn't count them as the saddest animes.

Anohana and Angel Beats were two that really made me tear up for sure. Now I can add to my list Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April). It was definitely an emotional roller coaster. However, I really enjoyed it!

For me, the saddest moment in an anime was a specific moment from One Piece.
I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't caught up with the series yet,
but he was a character close to everyone's hearts - to other characters and to the readers as well.

what are your saddest moments in anime?

for me, it was probaby the end of H20 footprints in the sand. I didnt see that coming andi felt like it was completely original! crying

1.Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai
2.Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
No specific order, i just enjoyed these two to the point of tears.

For me, it was Angel Beats, Plastic Memories and Guilty Crown..
Well.. I'm like an emotional person so i really cry easily xD but those animes are the ones if i rewatch it even knowing what happen, i will cry again..

My saddest moments of anime is Pokemon 2000 when everybody is being wrecked and I cried at the ending of Fairytail season 1. I also got emotional in Death Note like half way through because of L.

Saddest amines is hotarubi no Mori e for me, it's a movie and I always cry at the end, always!

I think Ef: A tale of Melodies hits one of the top spots on my saddest anime list.

As far as a particular moment, I remember weeping like a baby at the end of
episode three of Sunday without God. (and just feeling completely empty for the rest of the day)

Almost everyone is saying Grave of the Fireflies, and that was really sad, but I'd go with another pretty obvious choice. When I saw Your Lie in April for the first time, even though you could see the ending from a mile away, I cried like a baby.
