DESCRIPTION Naohiko stands at about 5' 8", nearing the tall side for a Rokugani male. He wears his brown hair fairly long and unbound, with the tops reaching his shoulder. Nobushige's green eyes dart constantly, gauging the challenge set before him or for a shapely woman to rest his eyes upon. Normally, Naohiko wears the standard green kimono and white hakama of his clan. In battle, Nobushige wears a set of light armor in the clan's color. Nobushige's daisho is rather plain, befitting his station as a young minor clansman.
BACKGROUND
Bayushi Miroku was a traditional Scorpion Bushi. A fair duelist, a skilled yojimbo, and a competant courtier. When one of Miroku's charges got over her head in a problem, Miroku did the typical Scorpion thing and redirected all blame to himself. As the indiscretion warranted, Miroku found himself without clan. Free to wander the world, he traveled to everywhere but the deepest, darkest depths of the Shadowlands. Eventually, Miroku decided he would try to stop living the life of a ronin and see if he could find a place for his hard earned skills in another clan.
As fate would have it, the Tournament of the Emperor's Favored (or the Tournament of the Minor Clans) that year featured a new minor clan...one by the name of the Kraken. Miroku earned a place amongst the nascent Kraken and became an instructor of Iaijutsu. Since the Kraken clan needed all the allies they could get, Miroku was quickly married to Komori Hanae, a woman from the Bat clan who had not inherited the magical gifts common to the Komori family.
Miroku's marriage has proven fruitful, with his first born son reaching his nineteenth birthday recently. One of the first samurai born to the Kraken, Naohiko has had no other life but the life of a Kraken samurai. His father has done his best to train Naohiko in a key variety of skills. This has given the Kraken a more-than competent samurai who is skilled enough to tackle a wide array of problems the Clan may have.
Naohiko's life has otherwise been grueling but pleasant. He is well known among the female population of Megumi Tenpi as a lady's man, but the time given over to his training and duties limit the damage he can do. Naohiko's life has its complications though. While visiting his Komori cousins, Naohiko met a young woman named Miya Akira. Naohiko's infatuation with Akira lasted until that evening, when Akira cut down Naohiko's uncle for a petty grievance in a duel that should not have been to the death. For her part, Akira loathes Naohiko for the testimony he gave on the matter that resulted in the Imperial losing station amongst her family.

ADVANTAGES Sensation (3 pts) - Following in her grandfather's footsteps, Kaichiyo has always been skilled at enrapturing a crowd under any circumstances. Whenever she would use a Perform skill she does not possess, she is considered to have 1 rank in it.
Social Position (6 pts) - Being the daughter of a clan champion is no small matter. She gains +1 Status Rank.
Voice (3 pts) - Part of her crowd-enrapturing talents is by far her voice, pleasing in virtually every respect. She gains +1k1 on any Perform skill roll that utilizes her voice.
DISADVANTAGES Bad Fortune: Unknown Enemy (3 pts) - Someone somewhere in another clan hates her and wishes to see her dead. She has no idea who or why.
Compulsion: Performance (2 pts) - In stressful situations, such as combat, sailing in a storm, or a direct social confrontation, Kaichiyo is hopelessly compelled to Perform, even if it might be seen as inappropriate, distracting, or disrespectful; making light of the situation to cope with the stress. She must make a Willpower roll of TN15 to overcome this compulsion.
Idealistic (2 pts) - She adheres closely to the code of Bushido and has a hopelessly naïve view of the world and how it works. Her standards are impossible for many heroes to meet, much less herself, and thus when she loses honor the loss is increased by 1 point due to her own self-loathing.
Overconfident (3 pts) - She possesses a grossly inflated view of her own prowess, and is often incapable of recognizing when a situation is beyond her ability to handle. When outnumbered or facing a clearly superior enemy she must succeed at a Perception TN20 roll in order to recognize the situation for what it is and leave instead of engaging.

DESCRIPTION Decorated pale and fair by her Kitsuki and Seppun origins, and turned tan from days of hard work and hard outdoor leisure, Kaichiyo is a comely samurai. Pretty, but not particularly beautiful; fit, but not particularly athletic. Aside from the charismatic flow of Air around her, her physical traits can be considered, by and large, "normal". She stands an average 5'4" and sports a sharp pair of dark brown eyes coupled by equally dark hair. What truly makes her stand out, however, is her mind. A golden voice, silver tongue, and bronze will, all forged with wit as sharp as steel. The young Himura heiress is not ashamed in the least to call herself a Bard, and is wholly eager to continue learning the trade. She loves an enraptured audience above all else, but isn't afraid to get her hands dirty - especially to help the clan. BACKGROUND Shi was born Kitsuki, Hiro. His mother wanted to join the Himura clan at its foundation, but his father wouldn't allow it. He began his monk training late, at age 9 after his father passed on. He graduated and went to Megumi Tempi, because his mother had spoken of it. Upon arrival he heard mention of his family, he went to seek them out. The Kami rewarded his weakness with the discovery that his family had died in a house fire trying to cook some Fugu. He found only a burnt home and some grave stones bearing the names of his mother and siblings Now he has been driven back on course by this lesson and has taken it as a sign that his dharma is to steer the Himura towards enlightenment.
