The flyers were plastered everywhere, and underneath them there was a torn shred of what looked the top of a sign up sheet, now removed. Selene was in her classroom, waiting with several boxes filled with delightfully colorful gear, but the one thing she did not have was a sign up sheet.
Never again. Quote: Welcome to the Independence Town Field Trip! We'll be heading into the Fireworks tree for a return visit (this is our second time in!) and Selene has lots of disguises available (which means party favors, hats, boas, etc. She'll hand them out tomorrow! The class itself will begin on the Fourth of July, but since many of us have engagements on the holiday, the class is now open to set your character in, tomorrow will be dress up and rules, and then on the 4th they will head out with some RP and activity prompts that can be done on the 4th, 5th, and 6th! So don't worry if you're busy the 4th, come join us now and then read up on the prompts and activities you can do when you're back!

A small skeleton, decked out with a tarantula-theme bow and a poofy dress, skittered into class with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. This was Dawson's first trip out in a golem, and he had to say: this was really surreal. One needed more than a few moments to adjust from being a tallish fat dude to a tiny literal barebones...thing.
< Ghoul. You are a ghoul. >
Cool?
With a little clatter, she scampered into a chair and sat, wiggling her legs around in utter fascination. (And/or excess energy.)

Piper was there, but with far less enthusiasm. She looked ready to get out already, but classes had to be taken so she could graduate. Or whatever. Man, she sort of missed being on a hiatus now.
The reaper gave Professor Selene a little wave before she started to fix her hair, unsatisfied with a particular poof.

Carlos was here. He was a cat and he was here. He had as always brought some tea in his nice new cups he got with Camilla. If he wanted tea he had to bring it he learned. He set the tea down on desk near the front and then walked over and pawed at the teacher proffering her a cup of tea. "Tea for a pretty snake." Carlos said helpfully. He was getting better at making some sense. After she took it or not, Carlos started sniffing around the interesting boxes, sticking his head in one if he wasn't shooed off in time.

It was safe to say that Catinka was academically stagnant, not that she'd have known what either word meant. The routine of classes in which absolutely no advancement was made was soothing, and rarely did she stick her neck out (ha ha).
But she remembered fondly that her first visit to the school had been when the teachers of JOY had held guest classes, and wouldn't it be nice, the Grim thought, if she could bring a little FEAR to spread around? So nice. So maybe they'd have the chance and maybe they wouldn't, but she would be brave.
So here she was, meekly finding her way into line on time because she'd had the foresight to leave early and follow someone, and because she almost--almost--knew her way around by now. She arrived in the classroom accompanied by the jingling of the bells strung through her knitted headband, and after a moment of awkward dithering she slid into a seat to wait, cheeks darkening until she hid her face behind the ends of her scarf.

The flyer said "Visit Independence Town" which meant going to the Grove of Doors, which meant they were going into one of them. Which meant, he was all for exploration. Uru made his way to the location listed and found that he wasn't the first one there. He hadn't expected to be... but it was still an observation that didn't escape him.

It's not like they were friends or anything. They weren't. Andrew could live with that. But Currently Uru was the only one he knew in the area, more so he probably was the only one who cared. Andrew had brought one of the fliers along and leaned over Uru's shoulder when he found him. "Fireworks. I hear they have fireworks. What do you think would happen if you lit one of those off?" Andrew's tail was burning a little higher than normal today. Just a little. And he had a rare true smile on his face. And he seemed genuinely interested in Uru's answer, if he gave one. If not the flame demon planned to just go find a seat against a wall and call it good.

Uru offered a thoughtful hum, his arms across his chest. "Theoretically? It should go off as usual. I wouldn't say my fire burns... but if fireworks work the way I think they do from what I read, my flames may not work." He offered. His flames worked in a way opposite of fire. However, it still 'burned', but didn't create heat. If he read correctly... fireworks needed heat to work. That, he did not have. Just his own body heat which he doubted would work.

"Huh well we will have to try it sometime by the lake." He was pretty sure he could not put out Uru's fire the same way as his own. So to avoid damaged it would have to be lake. "I'm sure I can get some to bring home during the summer festivals. I am making a trip over soon anyways." And rain snow and ice wouldn't stop him from going home for that trip. It was the fun part of the year for his home town when even the trees were in full flame.

Selene launched up out of her seat when one of the students came to greet her, but sank back down immediately when he offered her a cup of tea. She graciously accepted it, but her face pinched with the markings of disapproval at being complimented on her looks. Still, tea.
"Thank you, Carlos. Though you really shouldn't-" He wasn't even paying attention, was he? His head was already inside of one of the boxes, and she reached out to try and shoo him away before he pulled anything out. "Now stop that! We'll be getting to that as soon as class has finished settling down."
Which seemed about time for. She put the cup of tea down after a few calming sips, and then clapped her hands nervously. "Welcome, everyone! Please take a seat, and we'll begin! First things first, come of you have already been to Independence Town, and if you have, please feel free to share your expertise with the rest of the class while we're there. But for those of you who are new to this door, let me explain!"
She picked up one of the boxes, and began to hand out items from within. Hats that said "PARTY TIME" in rainbow glitter all over them; tiaras with sparkles and fake gems; giant glasses; boas of every color; empty plastic champagne glasses; noisemakers; there were all sorts of party favors and supplies being passed out, until the room was a glittery, colorful mess of students. As she handed them out, she spoke.
"We are going to be visiting a very large world called Independence Town. Independence Town is very different from our world, as they are not created out of fear, but out of something completely different. Freedom, unity, and celebration are the main components of this world. As such, you will see that the citizens of this world are a proud and excited sort! In order to fit in as much as possible, please be prepared to have a lot of fun! We will be doing a few of their typical activities while we're there, because this is their most special of days, and they will be at their most active! Now, take as much of this typical gear so you will blend in well with the citizens and we'll get to observe as much as possible! Of course they'll still know we are from Halloween, but this way we will be accepted as guests that honor their traditions. Let's do our best!"
She left the boxes out to be passed around, one by one, for the students to take as much as they wanted. Then she returned to her desk, and carefully sat down on it.
"We have a very limited time in their world before our Fear core begins to suffer from loss. So. We must work quickly, observe well, and get as much as we can out of our little field trip before we return. Please stay with the group, do not wander, and do not incite any trouble. You do not want to be hurt or worse, while you are away from home. Trust me!" She giggled, a little innappropriately concerning how dangerous her warnings actually were, and then wrapped a boa around her neck.
"Now, let me tell you a little bit about Independence Town!"

LECTUREQuote: Independence Town shares little in the way of similarities to our own world of Halloween. However, there is one key similarity worth noting; and that is that this world has expanded immeasurably since it's existence! At first, it truly was one town born simply out of the celebration of freedom. But since then, their world has expanded, and grown, until it is an entire world filled with all sorts of customs and celebrations - as the human world grows, so did they. And so did we! As you know, Halloween Town was once only that - just one town. Now, it's an entire world, and oh, the diversity we encompass! Just as we have, and many of the other worlds behind the Doors have, so to has Independence Town become more than it once was. We will be focusing our efforts on the main town, since today is their special day, but keep an eye out for all the different types of creatures that live here, and observe their diversity. They grow, just as we grow, just as the humans grow! All of the worlds behind the Doors are symbiotic with the humans, and you can witness their culture growth in the changes these worlds exhibit as time goes on. Any questions? OOC:Quote: Class is still open to new students, come on in and pick out some party paraphernalia.

Oh no! Oh no!! Oh no!!! Had the class started already!? She was late! Camilla had seen the poster for a Field Class hosted by Professor Selene. A class which involved a field trip to Independence Town! There was no way Camilla was missing that! However, it was almost lunchtime and she had gone back to her dorm to eat lunch and study a bit. Unfortunately because of this she lost track if time and was now late! In true white rabbit fashion, Camilla zips down the halls dodging creeple left and right, until finallh she makes it to the room where the class would be held! "Sorry I'm late!" she exclaims as she bursts into the classroom! She knew Ms. Selene wasn't like Ms. Winter when it came to punctuality, but the Dormouse ghoul still didn't like being late for classes if she could help it! Fortunately, Camilla got to class right in time to hear the explaination! Quickly she plops down in a seat next to a certain Cheshire Cat boil, before pulling out a notebook and writing down what she heard. When the boxes were passed around, Camilla happily takes a bright green boa, some large red glasses, and a tiara! Hey, Prom wasn't so long ago so the tiara was still fitting ok? Sighing a bit to calm down after she had her gear, Camilla smiles cheerfully at her blue striped friend. "Hi Carlos!" she says cheerfully before her smile broadens, he brought tea! And in the new cups she got him! "May I have some tea?" she asks him curiously. She might have just had lunch, but there was always room for tea! phantompanther13 Hi Carlos! I wonder how he'll react to fireworks?
