Basic Info

-working on-

Description Overall:
A uni soquili may be distinguished by the single, non-branching, horn on its forehead. These horns come in a variety of styles but the most common is a simple tight spiral horn. They also have a tail that resembles a lions and cloven hooves. A uni may still be considered a uni even if it has a tail made up of hair, but it is a weaker uni with less power.

Powers:
A uni has an amazing power to help others. Their horn holds great healing magic. The strength and potency of this magic varies from soquili to soquili. A uni that has been raised and trained to use their healing magic will be more effective with it than one who has only toyed with it on occasion. A uni without its tail will have a harder time using this power. It is believed that this is because their blood is less pure and not strong enough.
The magic can not fix everything. While it can keep a serious injury from killing a creature it can not heal it entirely if the magic works at all. Even an experienced healer will still fail to help every now and then.

A uni’s tail also gives them superior balance. It steadies the soquili much like a real cat’s tail would. It allows them to take on a more graceful appearance when walking but it does not leave them impervious to falling down or being knocked over.

Stereotype:
A uni soquili tends to be pure hearted and noble. They respect justice and kindness along with purity of heart in others. The ways they show off their pure hearts vary. Some are simply cheerful creatures others take it upon themselves to look after others. While they are not known for starting fights they are known to combat in defense with their horns.
The breed tends to be graceful in their movements and gentle in their actions. It is rare for a human to find a uni soquili as they are quite elusive by nature. Some humans believe that they are just timid creatures others know that this is because the uni kind is known to be hunted for their horns and the magic they contain.

Additionally:
The kawani believe the breed to be formed from the spirits infusing the essence of a unicorn plant with a kind soquili. The herb was used for healing and that power stayed within the breed. On the other hand the pale-faced humans believe them to resemble the mythological creature that once roamed the forests of their lands. Some of the pale-faced humans even claim that they are the same creature that simply came to the strange new world with curiosity. A few see their presence as a blessing from their homeland.

((A Unicorn was commonly described as an extremely wild woodland creature, a symbol of purity and grace, which could only be captured by a virgin. In the encyclopedias its horn was said to have the power to render poisoned water potable and to heal sickness.The earliest description is from Ctesias who, in his book Indika ("On India"), described them as wild asses, fleet of foot, having a horn a cubit and a half (700 mm, 27 inches) in length, and colored white, red and black. The horn itself and the substance it was made of was called alicorn, and it was believed that the horn holds magical and medicinal properties. The unicorn, through its intemperance and not knowing how to control itself, for the love it bears to fair maidens forgets its ferocity and wildness; and laying aside all fear it will go up to a seated damsel and go to sleep in her lap, and thus the hunters take it. In heraldry, a unicorn is often depicted as a horse with a goat's cloven hooves and beard, a lion's tail, and a slender, spiral horn on its forehead (non-equine attributes may be replaced with equine ones, as can be seen from the following gallery). Whether because it was an emblem of the Incarnation or of the fearsome animal passions of raw nature, the unicorn was not widely used in early heraldry, but became popular from the 15th century. Though sometimes shown collared and chained, which may be taken as an indication that it has been tamed or tempered, it is more usually shown collared with a broken chain attached, showing that it has broken free from its bondage. In heraldry the unicorn is best known as the symbol of Scotland. The unicorn was chosen because it was seen as a proud and haughty beast which would rather die than be captured, just as Scots would fight to remain sovereign and unconquered.)) - This is just some gathered info I will use in writing the basic herd info.

Herd Values:

-working on-

  • Generally believe unicorns to be the most pure breed in the land
  • Generally believe that WHITE unicorns are the purest of the pure
  • While some (maybe even many) of those in the herd have attitudes ranging from haughty to downright elitist, ALL members are willing and even compelled to help those in need.
  • Regardless of personal conflicts the herd members will ALWAYS come to the aide of other herd members.

In regards to love/lust/kids:

  • The old herd was very strict in its code to only allow pure unicorns to breed with their members. (This was still violated at least once, resulting in a sort of shunning of that family but not all-out expulsion) The new herd does not hold to that standard anymore, HOWEVER there is still a strong tendency towards taking other pure unicorn mates.
  • Lifemating is strongly prevalent, but not required. No one would be looked down on for having multiple fling partners - it's just more likely for herd members to choose a lifemate.
  • Children are automatic herd members. They may choose to leave at adulthood if they wish, but they grow up in the herd. Only exception: If a male flings with a female and never sees her again/doesn't know he has kids.
  • Sometimes a child might be given to a different herd to be raised, if the partner is part of another herd. This can be done to increase relations between herds and create allies.
  • Children are raised communally. There will be an area set aside and secluded for baskets and young foals to live in. The caretakers will be responsible for maintaining the area and raising the children. The parents can have however much or little influence over their kids as they desire.
  • Lifemates and breeding partners become honorary herd members automatically, as no one would ever disallow a parent to see their children. Exception: If said parent is a danger to the herd members, to include their own children they will be denied access to the herd.

Prejudices:

  • Kalona: Hate them. While individual herd members can have whatever opinion of Kalona as they like, Abigail fought against them in the Kalona Wars and sees them as little better than Skinwalkers.
  • Skinwalkers: Hate them more. These are the most hated enemies of the herd. Aside from the fact they decimated the previous incarnation of the herd, they are Demons Incarnate and represent the opposite of everything this herd stands for.
  • Pawed/Clawed types: Met with extreme mistrust and even hostility due to resemblance of purewalkers.

Spiritual Beliefs and Practices:

Herd History:

-working on-

Original Six: None of them were officially related as far as I know, but they considered themselves siblings because they basically took care of one another. Abigail mothered the younger foals and Apocalypse took on the role of protector since he was the eldest and strongest foal. I have nothing against any of them being blood related though, but they definitely have a strong love and bond because they were raised together as if they were a family.

They were foals when the Skinwalkers attacked. Their parents did their best to hide them. Abigail and Apocalypse though were hidden at the scene of the attack, so they saw first hand the horror of the skinwalkers. They laid low until the skinwalkers left but all the adult unicorns were dead or dying. Their entire herd was pretty much wiped out in front of their eyes. They rounded up the surviving foals that had hidden well enough and decided to try to take care of one another, in honor of their herd, their families, their way of life.

Apocalypse hates skinwalkers above all. He's conditioned himself for war, wanting nothing more than to seek vengeance for what had been done. Abigail had always been the reasonable voice. I'm sure she desires the same thing but she isn't stupid with blind rage like Apocalypse. She knows they are dangerous, that they'd stand little chance, etc. It's probably her logic and reasoning that has kept Apocalypse alive as long as he has been. I think the success of their small group making it to adulthood is because of Abigail. Apocalypse may be seen as the "leader" type, but it's really all Abigail. She's the brains to his brawn.

The herd consisted of silver or white unicorns, they believed themselves to be the purest of the unicorns (traditionally speaking), but the foals were so young, they didn't really know that. They didn't have time to learn about the ways of the herd before they were wiped out so I'm sure they're just winging it.

I'd see them as a much more inclusive and diverse group now, possibly caring more about taking in strays, others like themselves that had experienced hardships and giving them a home instead of traditional values. Trauma tends to change the way one looks at the world. I think they'd be more compassionate and less strict.

Six Brothers:
What I was thinking was that they were preemies and maybe premature baskets were birthed in a separate area, farther away from the herd. The foals would come out of their baskets but be kept to the area until they were strong enough to join the herd proper. So I'm thinking they were young enough to be in that area still, but out of the basket and looked after by adults and visited by older foals, etc. Their mother died in childbirth (because let's face it, 6 kids at once is hard) and their father died protecting them. Perhaps one or some or even all of the boys saw this happen. The boys were able to get away during the attack and clung to each other for support.

They were lost before they knew it, since they'd never left the secluded foal area. For a long time all they focused on was survival, but as they grew they wanted to seek out others of their old herd. They knew others HAD to have survived.

Options for plotting in to the herd!

1. Another foal who escaped the slaughter. You may custom in a unicorn similar in appearance to the existing herd members. If you have a white unicorn with white eyes currently that you wish to plot in this way, let me know.

2. An adult that had escaped. This could be an interesting perspective, since all of those existing had been foals and therefore the "original" lessons of the herd have been lost or adjusted as they saw fit.

3. Existing unicorns of any color that find and wish to join the herd. This can be plotted in as they had joined the small band of the first 6 if desired.

4. Mixed race that have enough unicorn blood and coloring to be possibly plotted in somehow. Perhaps a unicorn from the original herd fell in love and abandoned tradition. Maybe there was something more sinister involved. Perhaps they are the offspring of other survivors that are somewhere else right now (not customed or something). Throw ideas at me and we'll see what happens

New joins!

Since all current members of the herd were young when their first herd died,, they are a bit more loose on their acceptance.

~ All pure unicorns are welcome to join with little fuss.
~ All partial unicorns are pretty welcome as well.
~ Other types can join, but need to be interviewed

~~ ABSOLUTELY NO SKINWALKERS ~~
~~ ABSOLUTELY NO KALONA ~~

*Partial kalona miiiiiiiiight be accepted. They would need to be interviewed extensively and then will be kept under watch for a time before trust can be built.

*Skinwalker offspring would also need to be extensively interviewed and watched.

Name: Abigail
Parents: Aura and Algernon (both deceased)
Other family: Amelia and Safir (aunt and uncle- deceased) and Pavitra (cousin)
History: They were innocent and young, in the most fertile spring any of the adults could remember. The foaling grounds were filled with the laughter of the young, and Abigail had no shortage of friends. She couldn't even count the number of foals there were with her, though that had more to do with how young she was than anything else. Her particular age group had been out of their baskets for a while and were just on the cusp of being welcomed into the herd proper. She was looking forward to the journey to the main herd grounds and all of the older foals and new friends she would meet.

The foals had already begun a proper education, of course, in the ways of the herd. The adults in the foal grounds were insistent they learn early and learn well the values of the herd. Abigail didn't pay much attention, of course, being far more interested in the buzzing bees and budding flowers around her. Life was far too good to listen to boring lessons.

The day arrived when the older foal group was to be transferred to the main herdlands. Everyone was abuzz with excitement and the foals were nearly impossible to control as they gathered and were briefed on what to expect along the way. Suddenly, a new adult arrived, stranger to Abigail. He had an expression in his eyes that Abi had never seen in the sweet serenity of the foaling area. There was a red substance running down his neck from deep gashes. Abigail had cut her leg once on a sharp stone, and she was dimly aware that the substance on the adult's neck was blood. He said something to the mare he'd approached and then collapsed. The adults were suddenly herding the foals in the opposite direction, the energy changed but equally charged as it had been. Abi didn't understand, but she was told to hide and she obeyed.

She watched, helpless, as the other foals were ushered to hiding places and covered with mud or hidden in strongly-smelling plants, or in small coves under the waterfall nearby. It made no sense to Abigail, but there was no time to ponder it, as the monsters emerged from the shadows. The creatures sneered down at the fallen stallion who had come to warn them. He hadn't moved since his collapse, his eyes stared upward but saw nothing.

There was a flurry of movement as the adults faced off against the beasts. There were so many of them, the clawed creatures who ripped and tore through the unicorns as if they were nothing. It seemed to go on forever, yet at the same time Abigail blinked and there were no more unicorns standing before the creatures. The skinwalkers, which they must certainly have been, began sniffing around, looking for something. Abigail's heartbeat quickened madly as they found one of her friends and dragged her out screaming and made short work of her. They kept rummaging around, here and there plling a foal out and murdering it. Abigail was terrified to breathe or move or even think and waited for the end.

It didn't come. The monsters, the battle abated, seemed unable to stop their murderous rage. No common enemies presenting themselves, they turned on each other. They all eventually left, either felled by a comrade, or run off into the woods to lick their wounds, all in different directions.

The small foal refused to move. The others scattered about in their hiding places seemed of a like mind, and several days passed before the first foal began to stir and move from his hiding spot. Abigail knew him at once - the foal Apocalypse. She wiggled out of her hiding place and approached him. The others came out as well, and together they made the journey to the herd proper.

They'd been told the way many times to make sure no one got lost when they were transferred. There was a numbness to Abigail as she mentally marked off the landmarks they had been told about. It seemed a lifetime ago that she'd been excited to see them. None of the foals spoke, though a couple cried quietly. They made it to the main herd lands, but here the scene was gruesome. There was nothing left alive, no one seeking them out. They were truly alone.

No, not alone Abigail thought as she looked about at her remaining friends. There were six of them, and she would keep them all alive if it killed her.

As the group grew Abi became a true leader to them. She helped find them food and cradled those that needed comfort when their pain was far too much. They were wary, unsure of the safety of the world. After all, those monsters had scattered to the winds and could be anywhere. They traveled far away, walking until their legs ached and they could move no farther. They grew to adulthood together and finally found the courage to stop running from the past and to settle in the land of Kawani. Tentatively they began to rebuild, facing the fear of laying down roots in defiance of the past. She and Apocalypse had become close during their flight and their constant wanderings, but as they all began to settle something more developed between them. Love blossomed despite all the pain they had endured, and the two became mates. They swore together they would protect their budding herd, no matter the cost.

Personality: True to her "Mother" nickname, Abigail has a fondness for foals and the downtrodden. Anyone in need of guidance and motherly love and compassion. This does not at all make her weak. She is wise beyond her years, forced to grow up before her time. She knows when someone needs to be coddled and when they need a swift kick in the a**. She's as versed in tough love as she is in sweetness. She seems to know when to fight and when to back down, and when to command others to do the same. She keeps her brutish mate in check for his own safety, making sure he doesn't go into too wild a rage and lose his head. She is fiercely protective of her eclectic and extended family, like any mother. Threaten anyone in her herd and she will fight tooth, hoof, and horn to protect them. With the appearance of others from their original herd she has become even more determined to recreate it. She has stepped up as the Alpha the group needs, with Apocalypse firmly beside her. She has a reasonable hatred of skinwalkers of either type, and evil in any form. She also has a special hatred of kalona, due to her fighting against the Great Herd when it swept across the land. She is particularly not fond of Wretch, having personally fought against her and lost.
Plots:

Roleplays related to the herd:

1. [PRP] They say children are born colorblind. (Back RP) - Backdated foal RP between Abigail and Alaric (Pavitra) with NPC Aura and Algernon (Abigail's parents) and Amelia and Safir (Pavitra's parents)
2. {Solo RP] Enemies meet once more (Abigail and Wretch and Viracocha) - The Kalona Wretch whom Abigail fought against during the Great Kalona War finds her near their herd territory. Luckily, Vira was in the area and was able to rescue her. Abigail is wounded badly.
3. [PRP] Saying Thank You(Abigail/Viracocha/Reflection/Ishtar) - Abigail and Vira travel to find and thank the unicorns who had helped reunite the brothers with the main herd.

The Protector
While he serves as the head of the militant side of the herd (and consort to the Alpha) he is in regular meeting and conference with the Alpha, Heiress, and Thrones to help guide the direction of the herd and command it as a unified front. He oversees all the military action and those below him in the Chain of Command, as well as personally Grooms the Second in Command to step into his place, should the need arise.

Abigail's Mate.
Name: Apocalypse
History: At a young age, his unicorn herd had been nearly wiped out by a group of skinwalkers. He and a few others foals that had been told to hide and when the massacre ended, they banded together to form a new herd.

Led by Apocalypse and Abigail, these foals found a new home with many other soquili. As he grew, he never stopped watching over others.

Personality: Apocalypse hates skinwalkers above all. He's conditioned himself for war, wanting nothing more than to seek vengeance for what had been done. He is a fighter, but he is also proud and wise. He's a fatherly figure.

Plots:
Roleplays related to the herd:

The Heiress
This is usually the Daughter of the Alpha and Protector or and Adopted Daughter. She sits on all counsels and is personally groomed by the Alpha to step into her place should the need arise.

User Image

Name: Kaeya
Personality: Happy despite everything and full of life. She's flirty and glib.
History/background: Misplaced as a basket because neither of her parents were particularly attentive. Picked up by Abigail and raised as her and Apocalypse's daughter, though she figured out that she was adopted easily enough.
Why they would join the herd: Kea would probably just want a place to belong.
What could they bring to the herd? New life and youth and a youngster for the herd to mold.
Plots: I acquired Kae as a basket and have not plotted her much. It's very possible that she could be found as a basket and raised in the herd. As she in very unlikely to get along with any of her real family. I wouldn't mind back plotted RP as the herd raises her and figures out that they somehow managed to find a white half-uni (she is in actuality probably 5/8 uni but they won't know that).
Anything else? o3o Yes Kae is a Gen 8. I can pull up lineage if you want to see. It's kind of amazing. Oh and the Mist Demon is her friend and likely her secret and cannot be seen unless she wants you to see it.

The Second in Command
This is sort of a Protector-in-training position and is one more of learning than action. He sits in counsel with the Protector and Archangels as well as with the other side of the herd - the Alpha, Heiress, and Thrones - on a regular basis to learn the ins and outs of the herd and how it's run. This position is often held by a Son of the Alpha and Protector, or an adopted Son.

Name: Viracocha
Birth order: Fifth
History: They had emerged from their baskets only a few weeks before. They had been tiny little things, weak and needing special care to grow strong enough to join the older foals of the herd. It had been a fruitful year, with a lot of new life brought into the herd. Vira and his brothers had begun learning about the herd and their family, and begun dealing with the reality of their mother's passing. They had never met her, yet there was still an emptiness there, as though something were missing.

Their father played a strong role, seeking to make up for their lack of mother. He was by their sides constantly, trying to educate them as much as possible, despite the many nannies that watched over the glen. Perhaps he was a bit lonely without his mate. Whatever the case was, he was there in the glen with them when the unspeakable happened.

Vira and his brothers had no real concept of what a "skinwalker" was, beyond "bad". They'd had a few lessons that taught them these creatures were evil, but they had no idea what "evil" meant.

Until that day. Vira and his brothers were able to see up close what the face of evil was in the form of a massive skinwalker attack. It was something born out of nightmare as the creatures ripped through the herd, slaughtering everyone who dared stand against them. The ground ran red and thick with blood, creating mud that clung to their tiny bodies as they ran.

For whatever reason Vira was able to keep a clear head and ushered his brothers out of there full-speed and they were able to escape. They were alone and hopelessly lost by the time they were forced to stop running due to exhaustion. But they survived, which became their only goal for a long time.

At some point they found themselves existing easily, not struggling with hunger and fatigue and illness. In the course of keeping each other alive they were able to learn how to heal, then how to find food. They had to protect themselves and had to learn how to fight. All the while Vira kept them moving forward.

Vira himself did not know what he kept moving them toward, until one day he really thought about it. They were grown then, adults and able to go live their lives, but there was something truly missing. Vira realized he had been searching all this time, trying to find others that looked like them. He was looking for others of their herd. He wasn't sure any really survived, but part of him wouldn't give up that hope, so he searched.

Personality: He is a leader, even if he doesn't really think of himself that way. In his mind he just sees what needs to be done and gets it done. He wants his brothers to be safe and happy and he would do anything to make that happen. In some way he feels he owes his life to them, as if in making sure they are safe and happy he somehow is atoning for the deaths of everyone else in the herd. Inside he carries a lot of guilt that so many died and he lived, so he is constantly trying to make it up to the world, to make his life worth the exchange that was made.

He doesn't place a lot of value on his own life and would sacrifice it in an instant to save another - even a stranger. Keeping his brothers together and safe is the only thing that holds him back even a little when it comes to danger. He has a lot of pain and anger built up from the loss of everything they knew, but he keeps it buried in order to lead the group. Every now and then he likes to sit in silence with Tahir and just let the emotions wash over him. Tahir was so affected by their traumatic past that it reminds Vira of the feelings he keeps suppressed, and so Tahir's company is soothing to him, a way to outlet his pain through another's.

Plots:
Seeking out hope: Vira finds other unicorns, but none who know of any survivors of his herd. I see a few of these happening, and the search seems hopeless.

Seeking out the truth: Vira finds another who HAD seen one of the originals somewhere, and points him in the right direction. Does he dare believe it possible?

Finding my heart is still intact: Vira finds one of the originals who reveals there was a small group trying to rebuild. This rekindles emotions Vira thought he'd abandoned long ago - hope, love, even a spark of happiness.

Finding a mother: Abigail senses his (and the other boys) need and takes him in and nurtures him, helping him access and acknowledge his pain instead of burying it deep inside.

Finding my place: Vira is taken in by Apocalypse, who helps him cope with his trauma and become a successful second-in-command for the herd.

Looking outward for new hope: Vira goes on trips from the budding herd to help recruit new members.

2. {Solo RP] Enemies meet once more (Abigail and Wretch and Viracocha)

Thrones
The Thrones are responsible for the spiritual well-being of the herd and performing any rites or rituals that are needed. These are also the scholars of the herd, seekers of information and keepers of records beyond simply their spiritual beliefs. The herd values knowledge as sacred, so the scholars are respected as much as the spiritual leaders.

Name: Qiyam
Birth order: First
History: Qiyam is the oldest of the six brothers, though you'd only know it if you asked. He became withdrawn at a very young age, tending not to speak unless spoken to. The boy dealt with the news of what had happened to Mother with grace, if not a complete lack of empathy. As far as he was concerned, he had never known her, and there wasn't exactly anything he could do about it. There were plenty of nannies and other mares in the glen, certainly enough to find another mother figure. Though he could tell how it affected their father, and that made him feel bad about not being able to feel what the others did.

Their father tried his best to reach out to the first born, but something just didn't seem to click. Qiyam knew who he was, and what he was to him, but he simply saw him as another of the presences in his secluded little prison. They all meant to do good, to teach and to nurture, but Qiyam wished for more. He was told about the rest of the herd, and he wanted to know them. He wanted to see their faces and to hear their voices. He wanted to learn what they were like and what they had to offer.

Because of his curiosity and love of learning, the tiny unicorn attached himself to the shaman protecting the grove he and his brothers were confined to. Brujo, as he was called, had much to offer a quickly expanding mind. He taught Qiyam rituals and spells for many things, including protection circles and sacrifices to appease the spirits and ask for their help. It wasn't his family, but these teachings, that the unicorn foal clung to when the unthinkable happened. He would compulsively collect things for his blessings and his spells, and sometimes he would even make up a hex or two to use against those who had posed a threat to he and his brothers.

Qiyam was never very trusting, and he had an even tougher time after the skinwalker attack. Sure, he knew that skinwalkers were horrid by nature, but he refused to rule out the idea of others being the same way. He only wondered how long it would take for someone to prove him right. Because of this, he always had the makings for at least one blessing or protection ritual. He was insistent on completing one of these protection rituals every time the brothers would stop, be it for rest or just to survey the surroundings. He was certain that although they were six physically capable brothers, some day their luck would run out. At first he wished the other brothers to take part in his madness, but after a while he felt like more of a burden than a help and completed them on his own time.

As the oldest, he's always felt compelled to protect his younger siblings, though he'd never tell them that. He was uninterested in a leadership role and was relieved when the second youngest nudged his way into it, and he wasn't interested in being the designated protector either, so when Gene filled that role he was happy. But Qiyam has spent many restless nights staying up to watch over his siblings, pretending to gather supplies for his blessings if another happened upon him. Tugging out chunks of their hair for protection spells generally got them to leave him alone unless they were genuinely looking for guidance, in which case he would happily oblige.
Personality: Qiyam is the big, brooding type. He doesn't often speak without being spoken to, and if he does it's generally something about their journey or the spirits. He's obsessed with what select shamanic teachings he's had, and likely could have become a full blown shaman with more lessons. The unicorn never quite dealt with what happened emotionally, but it's made him paranoid and rather blunt. Outsiders may see his antics as rude, as he will avoid conversation in favor of setting up a new altar or gathering supplies for blessings. However, Qiyam is simply socially and emotionally stunted. He's had little conversational experience outside the company of his brothers, and unless you're asking him about the spirits or sacrifices, or maybe omens, you'll likely be greeted by an uncomfortable smile and few words.

Although he is quiet, Qiyam is not dumb. He isn't gullible and is very untrusting, to earn his company is a chore in and of itself. With his brothers, he is wise and thoughtful, and often stops to think before replying to their questions. He takes great distaste in hurting others unless he feels they need it, but wouldn't think twice about lashing out physically at a genuine threat.

Day Commander || Night Commander

Name: Andromeidis "Andro"
Birth order: Fourth
History: When he was told of his mother's passing it hit him like a brick. They wouldn't have a mother, just a father. He loved their father greatly, but he still felt the pang of jealousy that others would have this "mother" and she would always be there for them, and he didn't. He didn't understand it at first, and refused to go with any of the nannies or show them any sort of affection. He decided he was stronger then that. He had been peering out of the glen where they called home, and watched as the guards trained in the herd. He was so mesmerized by them that he couldn't help but idolize them. They were strong and fast and excellent fighters. This was when he decided to start his training after watching them do their warm up routines every morning he would get up and do them as well. He refused to accept that he would be weak forever so he strives to be stronger then he was. Training and protecting his brothers from harm became his mantra. He wanted to be the strongest in the herd and had decided to take any course of action needed to do that.

Andro was in training when the Skinwalker attack happened. He had instantly reacted with Vira, and got his brothers running for their lives. He was a very young foal and it had been hard for him to turn on the rest of the herd, but he needed to be sure his brothers were safe first. He had meant to go back for the others and see if he could help, but due to his fear he couldn't move. He wound up running away with his brothers. All he can remember is the fear and the need to keep running no matter how far or how tired his legs were. There were never safe enough, the screams of the others still lingered in his mind.
Personality: He is all of the Tough guy that he acts like. He tends to talk his way into and out of trouble. He has the personality of someone who won't back down from a challenge. He is the second in command to Vira and he tends to butt heads with him occasionally. He is always looking out for his brothers even though he seems like hes doing it for himself. Not only does he tend to be the rebellious one, but he is a fighter and a leader in his mind and he likes it that way. Even if he isn't much of a leader in reality. He will talk with outsiders to figure out what they are doing in the Kateri territory. and he wants to be the one to first make contact with outsiders to be sure that if something happens it's to him and not to his brothers. He is cold to newcomers until he gets to know them. He is almost the definition of an a*****e until you get to know him. He has taken to heart the beliefs that pure unicorns are better and that they should stay that way.

The Skinwalker attack had a big effect on him, and he swore from that day onward he wouldn't let harm come to anyone he cared about. It's what drives him to continue training himself and becoming stronger. He still has nightmares about the night the fled, and he can still hear the screams and the cries from the others. He will do whatever it takes to protect his brothers and those of his herd. While he has the tough guy exterior he does have a gentle and caring side that can be seen when he deals with his brothers. He has a very large mean streak thanks to the skinwalker attack, that he can't seem to shake. He likes being in charge because if something goes wrong he has no one to blame but himself, and he feels it drives him to do better and fight harder. He has a problem with being told what to do because he constantly thinks he knows better, this has lead him into trouble more than once.

He keeps to his mantra of being the strongest he can make himself and he gets up early every morning to patrol the boundaries of where they are currently staying, and to do his warm up and training exercises that he has done since he was a foal. They are now muscle memory for him and he can keep his attention on whats around them as he goes through them. He is not one to do anything halfheartedly. With him it's usually an all or nothing scenario.

Plots: What do you mean friends? - This is where the originals are found and they become part of the herd with his brothers. He will accept them being as they are unicorns and somewhere in his mind he will remember seeing Apocalypse while he was training. He will still be wary of the newcomers and have to get over his mind telling him not to trust them. He will still be extremely excited that they survived as well. ** This could also go for if the Herd befriended outsiders that were either going to join or just became friends with them and occasionally travel through their territory. He would be distrustful at first until he got to know them, and it would show him that others can be friendly as well.**

Training from the Origins - This would be an rp between him and Apocalypse about training. He will want to become even stronger so he will want to know what the stallion has learned in order to make himself better.

Where did you come from? - This is where he meets another soquili of a different race then skinwalker and unicorn. He will be intrigued by them and wonder what their weaknesses are and view it as a learning experience so he can better protect from a wider range of attacks.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Genevre
Birth order: Second
History:When they emerged from their baskets, the brothers were tiny little things. They were weak and needed special care to grow strong enough to join the other foals in the herd. The year had been fruitful with lots of new life being brought into their herd. Gene and his five brothers had just begun to learn about their herd and special family, including the harsh reality of finding out their mother died giving birth to them. He, like his siblings, ached at the empty void they each had from not having her.
Their father, for his part, played a very strong role in their care. It was almost like he sought to make up for the fact that their mother was gone. He almost never left their sides and tried to educate them to the fullest he could despite the many nannies that looked over the glen. Maybe he clung to them a little much from dealing with his own ache at their loss. Whatever the case may have been, he was with them in the glen with the unspeakable happened.
Genevre was sure he and his brothers would not have known what a "skinwalker" was beyond "bad" had this not happened. After-all, the few lessons they had had could not have prepared them for learning what exactly it was that "evil" meant. Evil, was exactly the word he would always call those cursed creatures for the rest of his life. Until that one fateful day, they had been naive to the dangers of the world. It was almost a waking nightmare to stare out and see the herd they came from be ripped apart. Everyone who dared to fight was slaughtered and the ground ran red and thick with blood. So much so that it created mud that clung to them when they ran.
Thankfully, the second youngest, Viracocha, kept a clear head to help usher them away. Gene felt the adrenaline rush through him and quickly took up position in the rear. If it came down to it he would defend his brother's with his own life. Even when they got lost and slowed down from running so long, Genevre kept his eyes out for any threat to them. He never hesitated in following his brother's lead, nor did he question it. The only time he held any doubt was when they stayed in one place for too long, or could not sense one of his five brother's nearby. They could travel around aimlessly forever, just as long as he could protect them, he would be alright.
Personality: Genevre grew from his tragic past into a big, strong stallion. Despite being the second born, he is just as bulky as his older brother Qiyam. He uses his size to help keep threats to his brothers at bay. Although, he tries to avoid straight out attacking someone. If he can, he tries to work things out peacefully with any would be threat. During this he stays very calm and levelheaded. He won't even raise his voice but instead let it's deep lull try and soothe whoever seeks to fight him. There is always a nagging fear in him that those responsible for their herd's decimation will find them and finish them off. He wants to be prepared and at his strongest should this ever happen. This same fear of the skinwalkers is also why he won't fight unless he has to. Deep down he's worried he could become like them and end up attacking innocent creatures. So, he steers himself and his brothers away from danger and fighting.
After becoming the protector for his brothers, whether they liked it or not, Gene can not stand to be too far from any of them at any given moment. It makes him antsy and anxious when they move to wear he can not even sense them. When they take breaks in their travels, he will often move from one brother to the next. He'll make a constant loop to make sure they are alright and that there isn't a threat lurking somewhere. If they make camp for the night, he will often fully secure the area before letting his brothers rest. Once secure he'll keep his guard up and spend much of their sleeping time waking at the slightest of noises. This causes him to sacrifice his own rest for their safety, but he would not have it any other way.
Plots:
Keeping Them Together - Even traveling as a group you can not be together but merely heading the same direction. This will be Gene trying to keep track of his brothers. Can be One-on-One brother RP or group brother RP. I can see more than one of these.
Meeting A Non-Brother - First time Gene meets someone along their travels that is not his brother. This is open for any kind of meeting, including hostile one. Would like at least one of these.
Were We Really Lost? - Gene reacts to them finally meeting up with the other members of their original herd. Confusion and anger flare in him. Only calms down once finding out they are around his age. With confusion being all that was left, he goes back to keeping watch of his brother's not sure on how to behave with the originals.
My Mother Is Gone - Meeting Abigail and not handling her mothering well. Ends up getting frustrated with her even knowing she means well. Will lead to him storming away from the herd for a short period of time. (Probably only a month at most, he's fighting coming to terms with their past.)
What Is This Feeling? - During his short time away from his herd, Gene will meet a female. Being a fragile thing and tiny compared to him, he will feel a need to protector her. Looking to have her help him accept the past and let his own anxities go. She can follow him back to herd. Can go either friendship or love. Either way can be followed up by another RP with them back at the herd.
I Will Protect Them All - After returning with his female companion, he sets to set things straight. Apologizes to Abigail and requests to take up his role in the herd. Can be multiple individual herd member/brother RPs or a group RP.
Seraphim
The Seraphim are the healers. At least one remains in the herd at all times for emergencies, but many choose to wander far and wide as travelling healers. The one that remains behind is tasked with teaching those that don't know how to heal, such as foals, so that each member of the herd can be of some use if needed.
Name: Tota'keke
Personality: He is a gentle stallion who lost his former mate in a terrible tragedy. Since then, he has wandered the Soquili lands helping those who needed aid, but keeping his head closed. There are times he stresses out over silly things but for the most part he is calm, kind, and generally a lonely kind of character.
History/background: I'll be honest--he's actually based on an SoA of mine. I got permission from the colorist to have him made here in Soquili. Tota'keke is a strong-willed healer. Though he doesn't enjoy fighting, he has had his fair share of battles. However, he would rather heal others over fighting; he has a doctor mentality: he'll heal anyone who needs healing; anyone, that is, except Skinwalkers. He's heard many a horror story of Skinwalkers and if he sees one (should he recognize it), he'll back off or run away rather than fight.
Why they would join the herd: ICly he happened upon the herd and felt a sense of belonging. He has been alone for a long, long time and would enjoy the company of other unicorns; that, and he would feel that he has a purpose and is useful to the herd in some way.
What could they bring to the herd? Tota'keke would be best as a healer. He is more or less trained in the greatest of healing magics, but isn't officially trained--kind of like those people who aren't certified doctors but know all those herbs and natural medicines that can cure illnesses or poisons. Because he is a well-traveled unicorn, he has a vast knowledge of the Soquili lands, so he would be able to teach the unicorns about other types of Soquili should they run across any; well, except for that of Skinwalkers, as he has never met one.
Plots: I don't have anything yet, but I figured in perhaps a meta-plot he could be one of the many healers aiding the warriors in the herd.
Anything else? Nope!
Chief Angels:
The Chief Angels are assigned members of their patrols by the Day/Night Commander and are responsible for overseeing them and making sure they're doing their jobs correctly. When trouble arises they are the ones to take command in the field, until one (or both) Commanders can be notified and take charge. They are the Archangel's right hand. Good leadership skills needed as well as the ability to make quick decisions that affect groups of soquili.
Cherubim
The Cherubim are those that help with foaling and rearing the offspring and with any other sort of care extended that is needed.
User ImageUser Image
Name: Heliotrope
Personality: A very shy and quiet mare who deep down is an utter sweetheart. She tries very hard to not jump at her own shadow or hide when meeting new people, but her anxiety will get the better of her most of the time. She gets anxious easily, her mind instantly thinking the worst of a situation before anything has even happened. It's a trait she tries to overcome, but with every new situation she is faced with, the more her mind torments her and she ends up hiding behind the closest object too her. This is typically her mother or older sister and brother - if they are around. But if no one in her family is present, she'll find a tree. Or a bush. Or anything she can try to squeeze behind to hide her form. Usually she just winds up hiding behind her wings. When she can be coaxed into talking, her voice is soft and often times you have to make her repeat herself just to hear what she said. Which makes her lack confidence in herself.
As she grew, she became a bit of a klutz due to her wingspan being a little large. She is able to sustain flight much longer than her parents and siblings due to her larger wings. They tend to make her even shier at times, afraid that she might knock into someone (which she's done before). But once she manages to get enough confidence to take flight, a much more relaxed mare can be seen! She loves flying, like her mother and father, and will be found often times soaring through the air with her familiar, Monsoon.
Since meeting Andomeidis, Helio has been working extra hard to overcome her anxiety over anything. She's still got a ways to go, but he gives her strength and hope that one day, she will be less timid!
History/background: She is born to a very loving and growing family. They have taught her not to be prejudiced or judgmental and she's grown into an exceptional sweet mare. Except she's very aware of her appearance and larger wings, which has made her timid. But she's been trying to get over this! And it happened, that one day, while she was out in the woods, she met a particular stallion. For some reason, she found him frustrating and sought him out again (after hiding a bit under her wings). To give him a piece of her mind. And somewhere along the line, Andromeidis decided she was 'his' and Helio has thus found herself learning where she fits in among the herd.
Why they would join the herd: Lifemate to Andromeidis! Helio wasn't part of a herd before and did not mind joining to be with Andro.
What could they bring to the herd? She is exceptionally sweet but very timid. However she is not quite so anxious and afraid when she's around foals. She would adore being a Caregiver to them and perhaps those that are injured and recovering after healing! It's hard, even for her, to be afraid of little ones and someone clearly in pain.
Plots: The herd would give Helio exposure to many individuals who may or may not like/trust her due to her appearance. Being exposed to it after a while might help her begin to overcome her anxiety about what she looks like or her klutzy nature. And perhaps having Helio around, some might learn to give those unfortunate enough to look like a kalona a chance!
Anything else? n/a
Name: Solange
Personality: Once a quiet but loving foal/young mare, she wanted nothing more than to please those around her, she gave everything to serve others. She never possessed much talent at healing when trialing out which discipline to train in, some of the more traditionalist amongst her old herd would say thats because she lacks a true unicorn tail and her eyes green and horn tainted black. But her heart was large and she went to train as a Cherubim, finding joy in caring for others in a different way than. But her tuition wasn’t long started before a an unfortunate event occurred (see history).
After those events Solange was quite a different mare. She was quieter in an uncomfortable way to be around and was scared of her own shadow. She avoids interaction with others at all costs, her heart wasn’t turned to ice just simply boxed and chained away in a small corner of her soul never to be opened for fear of destruction.
She can’t abide her hair being dirty, she spends hours grooming herself, standing in cold mountains rivers allowing her long locks to swirl about in the crystal waters and numbing her body before living a simple existence.
How does this soquili fit into the herd?  History/background: Solange was a young mare, and still in training/under apprenticeship, she was training into the roll of Cherubim. During the carnage and destruction of the original herd Solange was in the area where the foals were being brought up away from the main herd land, but a message was run out to where she and a limited number of adults were and they all rushed to place the foals into hiding. She remembers her tutor urging her to find cover after the foals where hidden and so she hid in thick undergrowth but somewhere she could still view the hiding spots of one or two of the foals she’d hidden.
The cries began to fill the air and she began shaking uncontrollably, not knowing whether to stay hidden or break her cover and run. That was it, Solange with little more that a foal herself, not long having come of age and she couldn’t hold her nerve anymore she darted from her hiding spot, stood out in the open for a moment her heart telling her to run for her family in the main herd grounds and her head telling her to hide once again. She heard her tutor hiss from her hiding spot but before she could answer one of the six male foals they were caring for broke cover and began grouping up his siblings and running off. The other adults who were their carers charged after the boys but Solange could not follow them, to afraid she ran blinded by fear towards the main herd lands to search for her own parents.
Solange would never forget the smell in the air as she neared the lands she had called home, cries coming from mouths of friends and loved ones she couldn’t even begin to comprehend with the combination of pain and fear they portrayed. Her head screamed at her as she charged forwards, but her heart drove her on, searching in vain hope for protection from her parents, though as she came upon the main site of the massacre she stood shock still staring at disbelief at what her eyes showed her. She stared at the dismembered forms of Soquili she knew and loved, including her own mother….
She couldn’t move until she heard an evil snarl to her right, head took control and she began to run, over the bodies of the dead, her white hair becoming stained in blood and mud… she stumbled and landed hard, her face landing level to stare into dead eyes of a Soquili she’d known well. She sobbed but with some inner strength she rose and began galloping at full speed away from the carnage and all she once knew.
Afterwards Solange found herself leading a life of solitude high in the snow peaked mountains, the cold preventing her from feeling, she enjoyed the numbness it brought physically and emotionally. She also now has a trait where she can’t stand her hair being anything other than sparkling white. After days of blood stained hair she tends to panic as soon as it tarnishes now, reminding her of past events. She spends hours grooming her hair now and foraging for the limited food and grazing the mountains have to offer.
Relatives, if any?  All deceased.
Permission for relations: N/A
Plots: What plots do you have for this soquili in rejoining the herd? Please see plots with Ryuu her for a fling with Lazarus, after which she will return to the herd and attempt to make up for her past. Equally I would love her to have the role of Cherubim in time. She will find it hard to return to the role due to her feeling she did such a terrible job last time but it is ultimately her calling.
Anything else? I wanted to finally post my form, I've had it on file for a while, just I've never got my arse around to posting it for you.
Angels:
The Patrols and Night's Watch are two sides of the same coin. The Patrols refer to the day and the Night's watch is self explanatory. These Angels walk the perimeter of the herdlands, looking for immediate trouble. They work in teams led by the Chief angels, and answer directly to them. This group requires almost no independent thinking or special skills, simply a working pair of eyes and the ability to stay awake and walk long distances.
Night Watch
Name: Orion
Birth order: Third
History:-to be added-
Personality: Soft spoken with the habit of preferring to stand to the side and observe rather than be involved in most social interactions, Orion tends to spend most of his days dozing in a quiet corner away from everyone else and often time seeming unfocused and slow witted the few times he's found conscious and milling around in the day time in a groggy haze.
This opinion changes once the stars start to peek their way into the sky with the setting of the sun. While he still tends to stick to the edges, and tends to keep his most private thoughts and emotions to himself, the third eldest is found to be quick witted, humorous, and observant, as well as one of the first to step forward and fight when danger approaches, his mind keen and calculating, assessing the situation and choosing what he thinks is the best course of action.
They are sent a Chief Angel and a small patrol of Angels for protection so they can wander at their leisure.
Name: Tyrin
Parents: -Coming Soon -
Other Family: -Coming Soon -
Personality: He does everything with an intensity to the point of fervor, and either he feels tremendous elation or he is in the depths of despair. Others often disappoint him because he is idealistic and is apt to place those whom he admires on a pedestal. Then he becomes disillusioned when they fall short of his expectations. He is quick mentally and likes to see things moving at an accelerated pace. Patience is not one of his virtues; he wants to move when the impulse strikes him. Most things he does, he does well, but as soon as the task, hobby, or job becomes familiar or routine, he is bored and craves a change. Travel and new horizons ever intrigue him, but his hunger for greener fields is insatiable, and so he does not experience contentment and peace of mind. There is such a driving power within him that he cannot find an outlet or if his actions are thwarted in some way, he feels the reaction through extreme tension.The intensity and consequent outbursts leave hurt feelings in their wake, usually involving those closest to him. Any weakness in his health would result from his sensitive and high-strung nature in stomach disorders such as nervous indigestion or ulcers.
He likes to control everyone within his influence, to shape things to his own liking. If positive, he develops high spirituality, as he has a God's protection. He is sensitive, affectionate, imaginative and cooperative, spiritually aware and prone to self-sacrifice. He can keep secrets and is a good diplomat. He may have healing and psychic powers.He is inventive, intuitive and extremely methodical. Since his will is so strong, he is hard to convince. He also dislikes advice. He loves beauty and philosophy, and he desires achievement. He has a strong need for freedom - physical, mental and spiritual.
He is seeking freedom, opportunities to enjoy life: to make love, to go places and to do things. He is very adventurous and willing to take risks to achieve his objectives. New ways and new experiences can't satisfy his restless nature. One adventure leads him to another. He is honest and fair, because he knows that this is the only way to receive justice and honesty from others. But his personal growth is vital for his happiness, and it is difficult to be tied down by rules and obligations. His restless spirit might best be controlled by choosing the field of work that meets his demand for action and adventure.
Tyrin's life has two sides; The public face, highly fertile, and another that is more discreet, even secret. In all cases, Tyrin is very efficient and reflective, highly emotive and active. He is an impassioned person, tenacious and determined but quite capable of mastering his explosive emotional nature through exercising patience. He has immense self-confidence that comes close to self-pride at times. Tyrin wants everything which at times incurs the risk of trying to do too much, and he wants to know everything with his dynamic curiosity that borders on indiscretion. Despite everything, Tyrin is an introvert as he only shows part of himself, his public image. What he truly thinks and the reasons for his actions are almost always hidden within himself. Tyrin is pragmatic according to the circumstances and the subjects in play. His morality should be practical and efficient, even if sometimes one may doubt his sincerity and values; at those times it is for him to come to terms with his conscience. His inborn flair placed at the service of his success, and his domination, is far more instrumental than his intuition in making Tyrin undeniably seductive.
His emotivity is one of the explosive ingredients, together with activity, that characterise Tyrin. He appears to have a weak reactivity but in fact it is voluntarily hidden so he can carry out his deeds secretly.
Close to tyrannical, Tyrin's will is extremely strong. He pursues his goals with vigour and even ferocity if necessary. Tyrin literally needs action for the sake of action. In a way this acts to reassure him but is also a real addiction. A great vitality, an exemplary health and a resistance to any challenge characterise Tyrin. His sociability relates particularly to a utility. Tyrin enjoys receiving people, particularly if this can be useful for his career or a project he is fixed upon. True friendship for him is as difficult to give as it is to receive. Tyrin is capable of anything to achieve his ends, whatever the time it may take or the means necessary. He is tenacious and insistent.
At first glance one might think that his intelligence is simply practical and ordered but this would be an underestimation. Tyrin is discreetly capable of formidable reactions. It isn't always easy to pin Tyrin down, to know if he loves or not, as his attitude is above all guided by a search for efficiency. However, he experiences great difficulties when he has to share his feelings. His sentimentality often stems from tyrannical desires that he tries to satisfy by any means necessary. His sensuality is based on a particular idea that is highly personal. Tyrin is often jealous and possessive, however he is very loyal.
Although Tyrin enjoys luck and success, this can be provoking and he should not forget that setbacks exist.
How does this soquili fit into the herd? History/background: -Coming Soon -
Why they would join the herd: Tyrin strives for excellence in everything he does, and how else would he gauge his success without other around him to gauge his progress from? He particularly enjoys that this is a herd of unicorns, and that he could still travel and keep thing fresh as time goes by.
What could they bring to the herd? He likes to think of himself as an excellent healer, and strives to get better every day. He's very personable and happy to act as an ambassador as well as a travelling healer.
Position Desired: Seraphim / Travelling healer
Plots: -Coming Soon -
Anything else? I'm still working him out, but I see him as someone who can recruit as well as heal, bringing in new members to the herd.
Principalities (Or Princes/Princesses):
Also called Princes and Princesses, these are the Warriors of the herd. They can be fearsome fighters, and can be difficult to control in a group environment. They tend to work alone and answer only to the Day/Night Commanders in the chain of command. They can sometimes be attached to Patrols as added muscle, or sent on specialized missions with Scouts when additional force is needed. In times of peace they tend to spend their time in training, honing their skills eternally. If and when jobs that require their strength or skill is needed they pitch in around the herdlands.
She oversees the entire herd. She sits counsel with the Heiress, Thrones, Protector, Second in Command, and Archangels to rule the herd to the best effect, taking the opinions of many into account before making decisions.
Heiress
This is usually the Daughter of the Alpha and Protector or an Adopted Daughter. She sits on all counsels and is personally groomed by the Alpha to step into her place should the need arise.
Spiritual leaders - Thrones
The Thrones are responsible for the spiritual well-being of the herd and performing any rites or rituals that are needed.
Healers - Seraphim
The Seraphim are the healers. At least one remains in the herd at all times for emergencies, but many choose to wander far and wide as travelling healers. The one that remains behind is tasked with teaching those that don't know how to heal, such as foals, so that each member of the herd can be of some use if needed.
Caregivers - Cherubim
The Cherubim are those that help with foaling and rearing the offspring and with any other sort of care extended that is needed.
Gatherers - Dominions
The Dominions go out in casual groups and collect food to bring back to the herd. No one is allowed to go out alone, but they groups are informal and chosen by those heading out to gather that day. This is a very social class, as they get the chance to chat fairly privately away from the herd main home. They are sent a Chief Angel and a small patrol of Angels for protection so they can wander at their leisure.
Regular and honorary herd members - Virtues
The Virtues don't have any specific responsibilities beyond maintaining their own respective households. They can sometimes be pressed into service in other ways as needed, but in general they are free to come and go as they please with no real expectations.
Second Sphere - Military:
Protector
While he serves as the head of the militant side of the herd (and consort to the Alpha) he is in regular meeting and conference with the Alpha, Heiress, and Thrones to help guide the direction of the herd and command it as a unified front. He oversees all the military action and those below him in the Chain of Command, as well as personally Grooms the Second in Command to step into his place, should the need arise.
Second in command
This is sort of a Protector-in-training position and is one more of learning than action. He sits in counsel with the Protector and Archangels as well as with the other side of the herd - the Alpha, Heiress, and Thrones - on a regular basis to learn the ins and outs of the herd and how it's run. This position is often held by a Son of the Alpha and Protector, or an adopted Son.
Day Commander/ Night commander - Archangels
There is one for the Day and one for the Night. They are responsible for all of those down the line - Chief Angels, Angels, Powers, Principalities - and making sure they are all doing their jobs. The Archangels are the day-to-day commanders of defense for the Herd. They report to the Protector Himself, and sit on his Counsel in times of war or distress.
Patrol leaders - Chief Angels
The Chief Angels are assigned members of their patrols by the Day/Night Commander and are responsible for overseeing them and making sure they're doing their jobs correctly. When trouble arises they are the ones to take command in the field, until one (or both) Commanders can be notified and take charge. They are the Archangel's right hand. Good leadership skills needed as well as the ability to make quick decisions that affect groups of soquili.
Patrol Members /Night's watch - Angels
The Patrols and Night's Watch are two sides of the same coin. The Patrols refer to the day and the Night's watch is self explanatory. These Angels walk the perimeter of the herdlands, looking for immediate trouble. They work in teams led by the Chief angels, and answer directly to them. This group requires almost no independent thinking or special skills, simply a working pair of eyes and the ability to stay awake and walk long distances.
Scouts - Powers
Scouts are sent far and wide, bringing back information either themselves or via a swift or singed familiar that aids in the protection of the herd. They are the first line of defense for trouble, and are needed to be swift, silent, and able to think on their feet. They are solo workers and answer directly to the Day/Night Commanders in the chain of command. They are the reconnaissance, and are vitally important to the herd's secrecy and survival.
Warriors - Principalities
Also called Princes and Princesses, these are the Warriors of the herd. They can be fearsome fighters, and can be difficult to control in a group environment. They tend to work alone and answer only to the Day/Night Commanders in the chain of command. They can sometimes be attached to Patrols as added muscle, or sent on specialized missions with Scouts when additional force is needed. In times of peace they tend to spend their time in training, honing their skills eternally. If and when jobs that require their strength or skill is needed they pitch in around the herdlands.
TOTEM IDEA:
an ox, a lion, and an eagle
Ox: the ox can be seen as symbolizing confidence, power, stability, fertility, determination, stubbornness, strength, Farming, Agriculture, Prosperity, Abundance, and Good Luck. Oxen were used as symbols for strength and fertility.
Lion: Focus, Fearless Communication, Patience, Intuition & Awareness, The Power of Silence, Pride, Courage, Strength, Ferocity, Dominion, Playfulness, Family.
The Hopi revere Lion as a sacred guardian for the tribe to whom they look for on-going advice during ritual. They depict him as a great hunter who is strong and fearless in the face of any challenge. This symbolism for Lion translates into Navajo tribes where they likewise consider the Lion Spirit a guardian and protector.
Eagle: Among the Pueblo tribes, eagles are considered one of the six directional guardians, associated with the upward direction, spirituality, and balance.Because eagles are considered such a powerful medicine animal, the hunting or killing of eagles was restricted by many taboos.
Name: Fracas Mephitic
Personality: Fracas is a very zen stallion, cool and collected at all times. He is peaceful and very much a pacifist, abhorring violence. He's happy to heal others and mend their wounds, but he is against using his horn to hurt someone, no matter the wrongs that have been committed against him.
History/background: Currently under development! Fracas is a very blank slate at the moment.
Why they would join the herd: Fracas would want to join the herd to find a place to belong. He doesn't really interact with his father so he's looking for a family of some sort because he's lacking that support group.
What could they bring to the herd? His healing abilities and his zen temper. The fact that he's so cool and collected he could bring a fresh perspective to discussions, especially when things get heated.
Plots: I'd like some sort of backplot as to when he joined and all that jazz, but I'm open to whatever.
Position Desired: Seraphim
Anything else? Nooope~
Name: Lona
Personality: Empathetic to a tee, Lona is compassionate and understanding. She is quick to lend a shoulder to cry on or a hoof for support to all and every who need one. She is quick to wipe away another's tears and just as quick to provide soothing words of comfort. Lona is gentle and warm, speaking in soft tones and keeps her steps just as soft. She is easy to approach and easy to talk to, more than willing to offer her ears to someone who needs them.
How does this soquili fit into the herd? History/background: Lona is a descendant of one of the original families that made up the herd prior to the altercation with the walkers. Her family was one of the few that escaped but was unable to locate any other survivors and they continued their line, resulting in Lona. Rather than spend the rest of her life, Lona heard that the herd her family had once been a part of was reformed and... changed from how her ancestors had described it. Rather than spend her life in the secluded glade she had been raised in with tried ideals of purity and judgement, Lona decided it was high time to experience the world for what it was, rather than what she had been told to believe.
Relatives, if any? No, Lona is not related to any of the current members and what relatives she does have remain secluded to their herdland in a remote part of the Kawani lands.
Permission for relations: N/A
Plots:
Lona's Joining: I'd love for her to be found by one of the herd's members. Perhaps they cross her path as she journeys to find the Kateri. She wouldn't know their exact location, so I imagine she'd be stopping and resting with welcoming herds and trying to find clues and information as to where they might be.
A Place Among Them: I feel like Lona would prefer to be a Dominion, going out and gathering in different areas so she could explore and see the world in safety. I really would like her to try and explore her options and ask different members about what they do to try and find her niche within the herd.
Tense Family Reunion: I'd have to get Lona's family customed, but once I did I'd have them find the Kateri herd, not to join, but more so to try and get their daughter to return to their herd and leave the "improper" and "insult to their heritage" herd that Lona has joined. It'd be a tense RP with arguments abounding.
Position Desired: Dominion
Anything else? Nooope~
Name: Jayashri
Personality: Jayashri is kind and caring, but secretly biased toward unicorns. She'd never outright say that unicorns are superior or otherwise "better" than other breeds, but she was brought up to think such.
She is well-trained in healing, and will help anyone who needs it, even kalonas and skinwalkers. The extent to which she'll heal these breeds is far less, however, as she wants them to remain at a disadvantage should they get it in their minds to attack. She is a very talkative and curious little thing, and will ask questions until someone is obviously irritated.
History/background: Jay was raised as a princess by her parents. She was taught immense kindness by her mother and fighting by her father. Her healing abilities were learned from both.
Her mother was somewhat similar to her, with a quiet preference for those pure of blood. Her father, however, was far more gruff about the subject, bluntly stating how they were the better race.
When she was old enough and comfortable with her abilities, Jay set off with a mission to save the world (or at least make it a little better). Not long after, the drought, fire, and flood happened. It was a horror show, but she helped everyone she could. She ended up staying with a small family who needed help afterward.
Why they would join the herd: Unicorns, yo. Plus her boy thing's here. ;D
What could they bring to the herd? Jay is, as I said, adept at healing, and not too shabby at fighting, though her little frame can make it difficult sometimes.
Plots: Love, mating, secretly judghing those who settle down with non-pures, helping others. XD
Position Desired: Seraphim/Angel
Anything else? Jfc Fatal just let me in already XD
