His hand clutched at the haphazardly thrown together bouquet of wildflowers that he had scavenged that morning in an attempt to do something to get his troubled mind off of what he was going to be doing later that day. 'These would make her happy, she always loved flowers,' he would think to himself, his mind always going back to her no matter how hard he tried distracting himself away from the subject. Akemi's knuckles were white from his grip as he tried to keep his hands from visibly shaking.

How fitting was it that their end would happen in the same place as their beginning? He waited for her in the very same field, his eyes closed and his face leaning up towards the moon. It's soft light lit up the grassy plain and illuminated his milky complexion. How long had it been since he last saw her? 2 Years? More? He wasn't sure how a couple like them could have gone so long without communication and he couldn't help but wonder if she still had any feelings left for him in her heart. At this point he wondered if anything could be done even if there were.

Of course, he had only himself to blame for this misdeed. Dreams were tricky things and once you were disconected from them to the extent that he had been, they were hard to return to. He had all but forgotten about the girl that he had been ready to call his mate. He wondered at how he had gotten to the point where the moon stopped reminding him of her eyes and the clouds outlining the sky that it shown through; her hair. When they lost each other, he eventually gave up. Their connection was gone, she was gone, and there hadn't been anything that he could do to find it again.
And just like that, a night ago while he slept, he felt her again. It was a mere brush of his conscious that sparked the familiar feeling inside of him that reminded Akemi of all that he had given up on. When he woke, it was all he could do to roll out of bed and ignore the female that he had fallen asleep with the night before.

Tonight was the night that he would have to explain. He would have to face her and tell her that he had given up. He wondered if she continued trying to reach him even after he stopped trying.

Blue eyes opened and scanned the landscape before him. If he focused hard enough, he could still picture them, years ago, laying tangled together under the stars of their mutual dream.

(Idk how they got separated...Mystery is fun, right?)

Sohalia felt that pull from Akemi's dream. it was a strange nostalgic feeling and it brought up so many other emotions that she thought she might explore. The mare watched as the stallions dream morphed and she watched as he took on his human form... The form that she caressed all those years ago, the male that she kissed and... Well no need to start thinking about those moments. She took a deep breath in the bright moon's light and let the energy fill her as she felt into Akemi's dream.

With a poof of feathers and stars Sohalia appear in his dream in the family human form she took when there. Her long silver hair billowed softly in the breeze, pulled back from her face with the star clips her mother had giving her. Her necklace laying against her collar and the deep blue dress with the swirls that represented her pelt. Her silver eyes moved directly to Akemi's blue. His large black curls with the golden streak. It was almost too much to bear being here.

Two years... Two long years that she tried to forget him. But one day he just crept into her thoughts and went searching. She found his dream and touched it ever so softly... But he woke up. The female didn't know what she was hoping to come of it, but after that night his dreams were open to her again and she felt his call. It was time for them to face each other. Her fingers flexed instinctively wanting to reach out to him.

The wings on her back folded in and she tilted her head lightly, her lips parting... "Akemi..." His name was so comfortable but foreign feeling. Two years and now she stood mere feet away.

With his eyes still closed, Akemi more so felt Sohalia enter his dream. Her presence filled his senses. The sweet, flowery scent that seemed to follow her where ever she went filled his nose. The warmth of her soul made the cool valley seem just a little bit warmer. His name fell so sweetly from her own lips and Akemi struggled with himself to open his eyes. As much as he longed to see her after being apart for so long, he was afraid. What would she look like? Of course he never doubted her beauty. He knew that she would take his breath from his as soon as he laid his eyes upon her once again. But how would she look? Would she be angry at him, or worse, would contempt be painted across her lovely features, all for what he had done? Never had he imagined that she would feel such a thing for him back when they were almost inseparable. Back then, he wouldn’t have done anything to hurt her and he wondered now if he had ever had a choice in that matter. He felt as though he could have protected her from anything and everything but he hadn’t thought that he would have to protect her from himself.

Not wanting her to believe that he didn’t want to see her, Akemi didn’t waste another moment in opening his soft blue eyes. He almost greedily took in her appearance as a man dying of thirst would drink water. She truly took the breath straight from his lungs. She had changed, if not only a little. Back then, they were both still so young; just teenagers falling in love under the stars. Now, she had a maturity about her. She carried herself differently, her posture was more confident and Akemi could only wonder at how she could look this way when he felt absolutely venerable. He noted with a hint of amusement that she was slightly taller now, but still shorter than him. Her eyes were still bright and beautiful, when he looked into him he felt as though he was staring at the moon itself. More than anything else, Akemi felt overwhelming relief when she didn’t look as though she hated him. Akemi could only hate himself more at that.

It was as though time stood still for the two of them. Not wanting to waste a moment longer, and a little self-conscious at the fact that he had probably been staring at her for longer than what is socially acceptable, Akemi stepped forward awkwardly holding out the bouquet of flowers. “Sohalia… I thought that I should bring something,” The words stumbled out of his lips and he kicked himself for sounding so stupid. What would she think?

To anyone else that, the moments that passed between the two might seem painful. Those awkward silences but it was never that simple. One look said a thousand words between them and there was so much unsaid that a third party would never understand. Sohalia watched him, he took a moment to open his eyes before she took hold of his gaze. She thought she understood why, but even more so when he finally locked eyes with her there seemed to be relief. Had he really thought that she would be angry after all these time? Anger was only the first stage, she was hurt and after all this time she had just left with a feeling of wonder. Wondering what could have been, what happened and wonder of him.

Finally Akemi spoke and what came out wasn't exactly what she thought. Was he nervous to be around her? "Oh..." She tilted her head ever so slightly, the ornaments in her hair shifted with a soft jingle before extending her hand to take the flowers from him. "Thank you." Her voice was soft and gentle. She did appreciate the gesture; they were flowers from outside the dream that he carried with him.

"Can you believe that it's been two years?" She questioned him, her eyes pulling away from his for the first time since he looked at her to look down at the flowers in her hands. Much like how Akemi noticed her maturity, Soha saw how he himself had grown. A bit taller himself, more defines features, a masculine handsome, he grew out of his boyish charms into a man. She couldn't help but wonder what he thought of her now.

Akemi unconsciously bit his lip at the thought of how long it had been since they last parted. Two whole years had felt like a lifetime since he had last been with her. There was so much that could have happened between them during that time, if he hadn't been a coward, if he hadn't stopped trying. The countless possibilities flashed through his mind and he had to visibly shake his head to cast aside the thoughts. He had no right to imagine what life they could have had together.

A nervous chuckle fell from his lips, as he shifted to one side. "Has it only been two years, Sohalia?" It hadn't occurred to him that there was a possibility that maybe she had moved on from him. Had it been a mistake for him to want to see her again? It was selfish of him to be thinking only of himself during these moments that they shared. He couldn't give himself that the idea of there may still being something left between them other than bittersweet memories. To have hope would be a pain that Akemi wasn't sure that he could put himself through. After she left him again, would he be able to forget like he had the first time they were separated? Would he want to forget again? So much had changed in their time apart from one another.

There was still so much youth in her features, but he couldn't deny that the girl who had once been his closest friend was now a young woman. So much about her had changed, yet stayed similar. As a teen, she had such willowy limbs, but as she aged her body grew into them. Her hair is now even longer than it once was, and he could swear that her eyes were even brighter than the stars above them. Her skin used to be pale, so easily turned a light pink in color at the touch of his fingers across her sides. Now, it was the color of light ivory, and held the appearance of the smoothest of silk, completely unflawed in it's perfection. When she was younger, it was easy to tell that she would one day become a great beauty. He hadn't quite realized then, how true that was. Gazing at her now Akemi couldn't help but think that a blossom would look so fitting tucked behind her ear. Back when they would younger, she would lace flowers the color of starlight through her wild mane of hair. Had things still been the same between them, he would have dared to pluck a flower from the bouquet and place it there himself, but as it was all he could do was tuck the idea away in his mind.

"You're so beautiful," How many times had he uttered those words before, nothing more true to him. None could rival her grace in his mind. "You've grown quite a bit since I last saw you," He couldn't stop the small smile from pulling at his lips, the image of her as a teenager flashing through his mind yet again.

The fingers held onto the flowers and her sliver eyes watched them. She titled her head softly, her hair spilling over her shoulder, the tips fades into a mist. She lifted her eyes as he started speaking again, she was close enough to him to feel some warmth radiating from his body. The warmth that had engulfed her for so many nights. Realizing this caused a shiver to go up her spine. Everything about him felt so familiar but yet here they were in this very awkward space. The body language was tense when it use to be so fluid.

"Yes... Two very long years..." Her voice was soft and it trailed off. She wandered if he had missed her at all while they were separated. She had missed him for a very long time, she thought of him every day. Her wing had finally healed and she had been able to return to the heavens. She had made friends on the Earth that would visit. But being parted from Akemi had taken it's toll on the mare. She kept to herself, unless she was with her mare friends on Earth. She focused on her work and no longer considered the idea of love. But now she was standing in front of the stallion that been her reason for living, who broke her heart. It was like he had broken her spirit too.

She wanted to walk into his arms and have him embrace her. But that was clearly not why she was here. He must have moved on, why else would he have done what he did. It wasn't like he was trying to find her... Maybe now he was finally ready to face her and call everything off. The thought that this could be the last time she ever saw him made her feel weak but she had to steel herself for the worse case scenario.

He called her beautiful and he stared up at him. Her eyes shimmered with tears that refused to spill over. She had to look away from him before natural instinct took over. "Akemi... I." She took a breath. Her hand with the flowers lowering. "Why now?" She asked him. Her voice weak, "Wasn't breaking my heart once enough for you?" She delivered the words cracked and weak. Whatever confidence she held had shattered away and she felt defeated.

"Please... Please Akemi don't torture me like this." She reached out and carefully placed her hand on his arm, her eyes finally lifting to his as a tear slipped from the corner of her eye. "You were my everything and then one day you were just gone. You left me alone, please... I can't hear you tell me you don't want me."
