General Information:

Professor Selene has chosen you to come to the human world and help her make a few things right. There seems to be an epidemic of missing Halloween candy, and the human children are in need of your help! It's time to try and make some Halloween magic!

Mechanics:

Part One: Costumes

You might have already made a costume in Selene's Costume class, but even if you didn't, you can find something! How great your costume is will affect your rolls in part three. If you did not do the open class, you may simply choose what they end up wearing! As long as it is not too frightening.

  • 1-2: Scary! Too scary! No one is going to let you near their house wearing that! (1d cool
    
  • 3-5: Three children nearby are already wearing the costume you are. At least you'll fit in.. (1d10)
    
  • 6: What an original, fantastic costume! You have a real knack for creativity! (1d12)
    
• In brackets you will notice a dice value - this will be how much candy you manage to place in bowls, in part three!
  
• Once you have your costume, you may go ahead to part two!
  

PART TWO
You have your costume. You're safely in the human world with Selene, in a town whose name you did not bother to pay attention to. The streets are lined with charming little houses, all lit up and bearing candy buckets just outside of the door. The children will be here soon to find them empty - their little hearts will be broken! We have to fill these buckets without being noticed! It's time to make some magic!

  • 2: This brick house has a small goblin shaped bowl with two Werther's in it. Pathetic. (Candy: 2/20)
    
  • 3: A Typical glass bowl with a few pieces still remaining. (Candy: 4/40)
    
  • 4: Instead of a bucket, a little child is holding their basket up to you. It seems they've figured out what you're doing... (Candy:8/20)
    
  • 5: There's a party going on inside this house! They probably had candy inside, but the bucket looks empty. Maybe if you start them off? (Candy: 0/80 - every time you put 20 candy in, someone comes from inside to match your 20 candy with 20 of their own.)
    
  • 6: A Typical plastic bowl with a few pieces still remaining. (Candy: 5/40)
    
  • 7: The lights are off in front of this house, but the bucket is still there, and still empty! (Candy: 0/40)
    
  • 8: A gorgeous house with a giant bucket filled with candy - apparently, this one has a good security system. No one's been stealing too much here. (Candy: 95/100)
    
• Each house has a Candy Value. Your job will be to fill those buckets, but careful not to be noticed, someone might think you're stealing from them!
  
• Once you have your house, you may go ahead to part three!
  

PART THREE
You have chosen the household to help. Now it's time to do your best!

• Your 'attack dice' - meaning how much candy you manage to grab in one handful - depends on your roll in part one.
  
• Part three acts like the opposite of a battle. You're adding, not subtracting to the total!
  
• Example: I rolled a 5 in part one, and a 6 in part 2. This means my house's bucket has room for 35 more pieces of candy. I have to roll a 1d10 until I score a total of 35 or more.
  
• You can only roll one dice per post. Don't forget to RP your student trying to stay out of sight!
  
• If you fill the bucket, get out of there quickly and return to Selene! Congratulations, you helped save Halloween!

Helki knew that such a day would come eventually. Just that he wasn't expecting it to be this soon. To him, the human world was something that was mentioned in the stories that he was told when he was a young monster. A distant place fraught with danger and inhabited by mysterious humans that he was still learning about through his classes at Amityville.

"Are you scared?" He asked Tavi en route to where they were supposed to meet Professor Selene. As instructed, he had changed into the pirate costume that he had with him after attending the Professor's class the other day but he couldn't help worrying if the costume wouldn't be enough to keep the humans from realising what they actually were. "What will happen if one of them touch us? What if they discover who we are beneath the costume disguise?"

The academy wouldn't allow such a field trip to be organised if it was going to be dangerous right?

He knew this day would come as well and while Helki was more cautious Tavi was just a bundle of joy. Humans! Real life humans! He was going to see them, be around them! In their world, another world even! It was thrilling but he was a touch scared remembering that San had said he almost died in the human world.

As they walked he wore his own costume that had been put together in the class before this one and a hand moved to capture Helki's. "Don't worry..we'll stay together." It was all he could offered because honestly he didn't know. But he had some faith that the school wouldn't try killing them given how many lawsuits it might face.

He looked up at the kitsune as soon as he felt the other boil's hand around his. "Okie." Tavi was right. They would be fine as long as the both of them stayed together and helped watch each other's backs. "Don't go wandering off on your own alright?" He added with a small smile for good measure regardless.

They arrived in the human world and found the candy buckets outside the little houses empty as Professor Selene had said they would be, hence the reason for this little field trip. Loathed as he was to leave Tavi's side, it was time to split up, pick a house and fill those candy buckets before the children arrived for their trick or treating. The humans in the house that Helki picked looked as if they were having a party. He didn't even need to peek into the window to know from the ruckus they were making that there was plenty of merry making, dancing and music abound within. With the chilly weather and the streets mostly empty as a result, he was optimistic that they would be done with the task that they had been given in no time.

"I won't you neither ok?" Grinning he had already panned to try and be first just to show off a little to Helki. Something about the other boil always put Tavi in a showboat mood. Electric crackled in the boils tails as they whirled out behind him in excitement.

When it was time to split up and fill the buckets Tavi stole a nuzzle to Helki's cheek before racing off a few houses away. Whispering softly to him before going, "be careful kay, I kinda like you alive." Giggling he raced away finding all the other houses but a dark one occupied with other students. Creeping up into the yard his ears twitched at the sound of a dog nearby. It was in times like this that the little kitsune wished for illusion magics like his brothers but as it was he had nothing of the sort to fall back on.

With a deep breath he approached the house seeing the empty trick or treating bucket and feeling a sense of determination. He could totally fill it up before humans came!

"You too." Helki smiled as he watched Tavi speed off to his chosen house. The kitsune would be fine on his own. There was no doubt at all in his mind about that for Tavi was both smart and quick on his feet.

Running up to the bag of candy that the Professor had brought along for the students to fill their respective candy buckets with, he reached into it and got just one for his effort. Ah well. One candy was still better than none. He made his way across the street, ducking beneath the windows as he stealthily made his way over to deposit the candy into the receptacle.

Eager to finish and show Helki how awesome he was the kit was a blaze of fury running at the candy. Both hands shoved in and he scooped up eight pieces with a soft excited yip. Racing back across the street he dodged between trees and under the window. Sneaking to the front of the house and dropping the candy in before running back to the candy, looking for Helki as he approached to get more.

Helki was determined to get more candy on his next attempt at the bag of candy. The candy bucket belonging to the house that he had picked was huge and he certainly didn't want to take forever with filling it up. Reaching into and coming away with a whole lot more candy this time, he grinned to himself. This was more like it.

Racing across the street, the wolf boil stopped briefly to sneak a peck on Tavi's cheek as he passed him, grinning as he went on his way to drop the candy into the candy bucket proper.

Helki pulled a fast one on him and the Kit stumbled as he tried to walk down the street. Grinning over his shoulder he gave a happy howl into the air, making a little too much noise and seeing a light pop on at a house. A giggle and he distractedly grabbed a single candy and raced to put it away.

Candy deposited the kit started to sneak on the other boil. Hiding in a bush he waited for Helki to pass so he could pounce him.

It had been entirely worth it.

Helki grinned to himself at the surprised look he had seen on Tavi's face just as he pulled back and went on his way. That was cute. He was beginning to see now why the kitsune boil enjoyed springing such surprises on him when he least expected it. He could have to do that again some other time.

Grabbing another handful of candy, he dashed towards the house again to add them to the bucket, looking around to see if he could spot Tavi anywhere.

As Helki came running he jumped from the bush and pounced him with a playful growl. Giggling madly before stealing his kiss back and racing away to get more candy to put in his bowl.

Helki gave a surprised yip when he was suddenly and rather unexpectedly pounced on by Tavi while he was on his way to getting more candy for the house that he was responsible for. A kiss to get back at him for earlier on huh? He giggled to himself, amused by the kitsune's antics as he grabbed more candy to add to his bucket. Just as he was about to make the return trip for more candy though, the door of the house suddenly clicked open and he almost would have been spotted had he not ducked into the nearby bush in the nick of time.

The human had with her a bag of something which she walked over to the candy bucket with before emptying its contents into it. "Strange. I thought mum said that this was supposed to be empty..." She muttered to herself before shrugging and heading back into the house.

Once she was gone, Helki emerged from his hiding place to peer into the bucket and what he saw immediately made him grin from ear to ear. The human had actually added a whole lot of candy on top of his into the receptacle so he was just about half way done with his now. Hooray!

Proud of his own sneak attack Tavi was a bundle of excitement grabbing two handfuls of candy this time as he raced back to the candy dish. Getting closer he heard movement and paused hiding for a second then sneaking up and throwing the candy in. A second later he was moving swiftly away watching the house as a light flickered on then off. Humans were strange but he didn't have time for them right now, because right now he had to get more candy!

Looks like it was a race from here on to see who would be able to complete the task that Professor Selene had assigned them using the shortest amount of time. Passing by Tavi on his way to retrieve more candy, Helki flashed the kitsune boil a grin. He wasn't going to let himself be bested in this without putting up much of a fight.

Grabbing a handful of candy, he quickly made his way across the street, glancing first at the oblivious humans who were still partying away in the house then at the door from which one of them emerged from earlier on, wanting to be sure that the coast was clear before adding the candy that he had grabbed to the bucket.

One more handful of candy was delivered to bucket. A race back to where the professor waited and the kitsune took a seat on the ground. Huffing and puffing as peachy cheeks went red. Tavi had worked himself and now needed a breather before heading back for more.
