This is Tenzin, a stallion who desperately desires a community who loves the forest as much as he does. In order to make this dream a reality, he needs YOUR help to get him there. Herd Origin, Ideals, and Roles
When he was growing up, Tenzin was protected by the forest, now grown, Tenzin has made it his goal to give back to the forest and protect those who inhabit and seek refuge within. The herd itself is a loosely-structured group of nature-lovers when it comes down to it. Everyone who joins is asked to participate in their own way and uphold the ideals of the herd. The ideals being, of course, to protect the forest that has granted sanctuary to the herd and show compassion and goodwill to all of its inhabitants and visitors.
Herd leader(s) - The leader of the herd and the overseer of all its progress. They uphold the ideals and values of the herd to a T. The leader will always be chosen from the rank of the Guardian. A leader may choose to lead alone or with the company of their Lifemate.
The Council - The Council is made up of five members, the senior member of their individual job: Guardian, Scout, Healer, Dryad, and Helper. The Council was formed to ensure that all the members of the herd are content and productive, and they also act as advisors to the Herd Leaders. (Note: While the original Council members will be picked by Tenzin, others will likely be chosen by the efficiency and loyalty they show within their ranks and to the herd.)
Guardians - The muscle of the herd. Guardians are the overseers of the forest's well being. They will patrol the borders with the Scouts and accompany Helpers on their tasks. Guardians can also be hired out as bodyguards or escorts if a passing herd or Soquili desire it.
Scouts - Soquili who are quick on their hooves, restless when staying in one place, or enjoy meeting new Soquili are best suited for this job. Scouts will go out along the borders of the Western Forest to keep watchful eyes for threats against the forest or those who might require the herd's aid. They are the eyes and ears of the forest and often work with the Guardians to keep the forest and the herd safe.
Healers - Those who specialize in healing, whether magical or herbal, physical or mental. Healers work to keep the herd healthy and are in charge of acting as the midwives in the birthings of foals.
Dryads - Soquili who specialize in the knowledge of nature. They are the speakers of the forest, able to see sickness in the flora around them. They often keep gardens to protect rare flora. Dryads also alert the Guardians to which trees are sick and oversee the uprooting of the tree, in order to keep the forest healthy.
Apprentices - Foals or adult members who wish to take on a "specialty" rank must find themselves a mentor of that desired rank to tutor with. The usual span of an apprenticeship lasts a year, so that the apprentice can learn about the added tasks of their job come the changes of the seasons.
Helpers - Adult members of the herd without a specified job or rank. They are given a variety of tasks, whether it's assisting another member with their job, such as gardening with a Dryad, gathering herbs beside a Healer, or clearing fallen debris alongside a Guardian, or performing more broad tasks, such as teaching the ideals of the herd to new members or foals. (Helpers are the Default rank of the herd)
Familiar Note - A familiar may join whether bonded or unbounded. While they usually fall into the rank of Helper, they can also take on special ranks if they are so inclined.
For Forest Dwellers - There are already those who live in the Western Forest. These Soquili will be encouraged to join the herd as a way of giving back to the forest which has offered them a home within its borders. In the event that they decline the offer, they will simply be asked to respect the herds ideals and be left in peace. They are always welcome to change their mind.
For New Members - All members will be welcomed into the herds who can agree to keep up the herds ideals. If a Soquili desires to enter the herd with a specific rank in mind, they will be evaluated by the leader and upon successful completion of the evaluation, will be allowed into the herd. For a new member that does not know which rank they wish to receive, they may join as a Helper and can choose to become an Apprentice down the road if they choose a rank they want to pursue. (OOC: For rank members, just post the form below and you'll be entered in. If you would like to do an "evaluation RP" between your joining Soq and Tenzin, just let me know and we can set something up.)

Name: Nanyehi (Nani for short) Who Are You? Nanyehi is a roamer. She does not like being tied down to any one spot for long, going wherever her whim may lead. Such whims are connected heavily to nature itself for she holds a deep bond to it. Wherever the trees and flowers call her, that is where Nanyehi will go. She can often be found tucked gently in a crook of a tree or lying gently in a meadow of flowers.
Additionally, Nanyehi has a distinct charm when it comes to animals. They seem to flock to her wherever she goes. She loves their company and will protect even the smallest of creatures to the best of her ability. While she prefers their company to others, Nanyehi does reach out to other Soquili from time to time during her travels. So, I'm actually about to be on a very off and on hiatusy period due to life things, but I just have to kick this out there while I'm thinking about it. Tenzin's ideals match up so well with Ryade that I have to make some sort of connection!
Name: Ryade Who Are You? Ryade is literally my personal dryad. An Angeni/Kirin, she has been among the trees for as long as she can remember and considers them her family. She lives in a grove of old growth oak trees deep in the forest (think MASSIVE trees, with branches sturdy enough to support the weight of...her!), and she views each tree as a sentient creature with its own personality. Although unable to do more than flutter with her tiny wings, she is light on her feet and able to 'climb' the massive branches of her beloved oaks by jumping from branch to branch. She is small, but fiercely protective of her grove, its trees, and their general well being. Bubbly and gregarious to those who appreciate nature, she will turn fierce if she feels her home and 'friends' are threatened. Are You New to the Forest? Forest Dweller, for now. She's very entrenched in her own grove and has been for some time. Rank Desired: N/A (though possible future Dryad, or maybe guest dryad for her grove XD Will You Be Staying Long? She sounds lovely! Let's see... Well, how about I just mark her down as an "ally of the forest" in the herd members (for those that want interaction with the herd but don't want to join) and we can go from there. Sound good?

If you'd like to put the familiar in for a different rank, feel free to post another form (or just let me know which rank you want to them.) If you have a bonded cert for them and want them to both be scouts, that's fine too, just send me that feet to add to the herd members, okay?
