Name: Samael
Meaning: A demon. "Poison of God". Samael is said to be the angel of death, one of the seven archangels, the ruler over the Fifth Heaven, and commander of two million angels. An important archangel in Talmudic and post-Talmudic lore, a figure who is accuser (devil), seducer and destroyer, and has been regarded as both good and evil. Samael, functioning as the left hand of God, is consort of both the voluptuous maiden Naamah and the arch-she-devil Lilith. As a fallen angel he teaches magic, necromancy, also knowing the dangerous parts of necromancy to avoid, and occult sciences. Strangely he also teaches jurisprudence. Also in the Kabbalah, Samael was said to be the Serpent who tempted Eve into sin.

Meaning: A demon, Naamah appears in the Zohar as one of the mates of the archangel Samael. She, along with her cohort Lilith, causes epilepsy in children. Naamah translates to ‘pleasant’ or ‘pleasing’, and she is said to be the goddess of divination.Naamah is also an afterlife gatekeeper and guide, meeting and guiding departed souls as they pass from their incarnate existence into the discarnate realm of Spirit. She shows love and reassurance as she escorts each soul through the gate and beyond the Shadow of Death to the Otherworlds. She can serve as a spiritual gatekeeper as well, acting as a bridge between the realms and communicating messages to the individual from the Otherworlds and the afterlife. She is also a Matron goddess of the creatures within the natural world, bringing healing and renewed life to all plants and animals who are suffering. She is said to reside within a lush and fertile nocturnal garden filled with strange yet beautiful flora.
Quirks: Skills: Healing with horn, Navigation by the stars
Location: Nomad/Traveler
History: Naamah was young when she had met the dashing stallion that would be Agares' father. Samael was handsome, strong, imposing and willful and she immediately fell in love with the male. She was utterly, hopelessly tied to him from the beginning, though she was never sure he felt the same. His face was always an unreadable mask, his eyes giving nothing away. He was often gruff and had a difficult time expressing his emotions. At least, until the children were born. Something in him softened, at least slightly, and he doted on them from day one. He was still stone-faced and a bit rough around the edges, but Naamah saw his heart finally and knew they were truly a family.
Samael was an accomplished healer. He knew healing herbs and rituals and despite having such a harsh exterior he always answered a call for help. One such call occurred while Agares and Berith were still young. A herd had had an outbreak of some sickness, and the entire family set out. Naamah liked to take any opportunity to teach Berith more about healing using their unicorn heritage, and Samael enjoyed teaching both children about his own brand of healing. The trip was normal enough - until the accident.
They had paused to rest one evening and were settling in. The foals were off playing, but something went horribly wrong. Naamah never was certain what had taken place - only that Agares had a grievous head wound that she was unsure he could survive. She tended him all through the night, exhausting her healing powers. There was little else she could do without rest and he couldn't be moved. The emergency of the other herd loomed over them and after much discussion Samael and Naamah agreed that he would take Berith and continue on, leaving Naamah to continue to care for their son. They would meet back up when they could.
Agares finally woke up after several days of intensive care, but he had no memories. He didn't know who Naamah was at first and had no recollection of the accident, his sister or his father. It was heartbreaking, but she was able to convince him she was his mother. It did become clear early on that he was hallucinating almost constantly, thinking he was seeing spirits all around them. He had nightmares and was tormented nearly constantly. She feared he might yet die. Whatever was wrong with him was beyond her unicorn magic. Fear for him compelled her to seek out her mate once more,, but she couldn't leave Agares alone. She took him with her when he could be moved and searched the nearby area, finding a two-legger alone who seemed willing to take in the foal. Feeling torn, she left her son there to seek out Samael.
She wandered far throughout the soquili lands, not really sure where she was going. All she knew was that she searched, travelling great distances and facing great perils. They had been given the barest of instructions on how to find the suffering herd, but at some point she found the place. All that was left were corpses. Whatever sickness had ravaged them had taken their lives. There was evidence some of the survivors had gone, but where was harder to tell. She searched far and wide and came up with nothing but more corpses. She eventually gave up, believing her mate and daughter dead. With a heavy heart she turned her attention towards her son, who she feared may have died in her absence. She found the two-legger she had left him with, and eventually found where her son was located.
Guilt and regret had followed her all of those years she was away and it burdened her to think about how she had abandoned her only son. With a heavy heart she sought him out, fearing his rejection...
Personality: Naamah wants to be happy. There is nothing more that she would want than to have her family back and to go back to the days when she knew true love. Unfortunately, with her belief that Samael and Berith are dead, she carries around the burden of loss instead. Because of this, and the guilt of having abandoned her son to grow up alone, she has become rather withdrawn into herself and guarded. All she truly wants is to be happy...
Plots: 1. She has found Agares finally, and must work towards him accepting her again. This is at the forefront of her life, and she cares for nothing else.
2. Rejected initially by Agares, she runs into Xeria on her way out. She realizes he is her grandson and enlists his help in softening Agares and finding some measure of redemption.
3. Naamah's relationship with Agares and Xeria bloom, and they are well on their way to becoming a family again.
4. Samael and Berith are alive and have returned to her.
5. The family reforged, they embark on the journey to a rumored unicorn herd that could possibly heal Agares' old wounds.

Quirks: Colorblindness, Seeing ghosts
Skills: Divination through water/Scrying and use of ghosts
Location: Settler of the Grove
History: Agares was a very quiet and reserved foal, though he still found himself playing with his sister from time to time. She was a lively filly, always trying to pull him out of his shell. He was very inquisitive and stole away from his parents often to explore. One evening he ventured a little farther than normal, and heard strange sounds coming from a clearing. There was a flickering light and strange smells that freighted the young colt, but curiosity got the better of him. He crept around some bushes and found himself in what seemed an entirely different world. Flames rose high into the sky and strange smoke filled the clearing. There were many colors and a strange sensation rushed through the foal. He panicked and tried to run, but was disoriented and confused and must have run into a tree. His senses were overwhelmed and the next thing he knew, darkness was descending upon him. In those last moments of consciousness he saw the color filter out of his world and a strange creature approaching him.
He awoke slowly, his head feeling thick and fuzzy. He let his eyes drift before raising his head, but found himself blinking harder and harder, trying to understand why he could only see grey and white and black. There was no light, as though the sun and moon did not exist and he started to panic. He felt soothing hands upon his flank and turned his head to see that strange creature again. It walked on two legs and was almost completely hairless. He wanted to be afraid, but the creature was making a soothing noise that calmed the foal. He relaxed and let the two-legger stroke him gently for a long time. Agares had no concept of time anymore since he couldn't tell what part of the day it was. There was a throbbing in his head and his vision was blurry and all he wanted was sleep. He supposed he passed out, and perhaps the two-legger took him back to his mother, or she found him, because the next time he opened his eyes she was in his field of vision. Or at least he thought it was her. The pain and fuzziness was too much and he couldn't see clearly. He seemed to be getting worse. He became delirious and unconscious more than he was conscious. Before long, all he knew was darkness.
He eventually woke, whatever fever that had been afflicting him gone. He remembered the accident and had blurry images of his mother's face, but nothing more. He looked around, moving slowly so as not to jar his throbbing head, but found no sign of his mother. He was near some strange structure of some sort, out of which the two-legger emerged with food for him. He accepted the two-legger's help with a heavy heart, the realization that his mother had abandoned him sinking in.
It wasn’t long before Agares started to see soquili that were no longer living. The first time it happened he was frightened and ran away from it. As it happened more and more he started to learn how to tell the difference, though he was far from perfect at it. He mostly tried to ignore them and kept to himself. If he was a withdrawn colt, he was a downright distant stallion. He rarely spoke, and chose to keep to himself. As Agares grew up he learned to deal with his new light-less sight. He observed the behavior of other creatures to determine when it was day or night and tried to live in peace with the other soquili around him, if at a distance from them. After a while, however, he simply preferred to be alone and left the lands to make a solitary place for himself. He never strayed too far, however, as he visited the two-legger that had inadvertently cursed him that fateful night.
Personality: Agares is something of a solemn stallion who speaks little. His eyes appear blind, but in fact he can see things in a very different way than most soquili. As a foal he stumbled upon a two-legger shaman's ritual and interrupted it by mistake. As a result he was cursed to no longer see "reality", but to see the world as it appears in the spirit realm. He is colorblind, and sometimes even sees soquili that had passed on. Also, the sense of light and dark or day and night is gone. It is as though the entire world is cast in a gray light that allows him to see in the dark. Because of this strangeness he usually avoids other soquili and prefers to be out at night when most others are sleeping. The two-legger that had inadvertently cursed him has become a favorite companion to Agares.
Plots: Arc 1 - Loneliness
Agares was never one to roam. He made himself a home in a secluded grove deep in the forest, near a stream. There was a herd nearby, but he decided not to make contact with it. Fate brought him a mate, however, and for a time he was happy. When Agares met Ananke the two were a perfect match. She came from a long line of "strange" soquili and the two got along famously. They grew a family, but as the foals became adults and moved on, Ananke herself became distant. One day she was simply gone and Agares had no clue where she had gone or why. He thought perhaps she was unhappy with him and wanted to move on. Whatever the reason, Agares found himself quite alone once more. First his mother, then his children, then Ananke. He was beginning to feel the only company he would ever keep would be the dead.
Rp needed:
- Solo rp of him talking with the dead spirits around him
Arc 2 - A spark
Fate once again decided he needed companionship and brought it to him in the form of Daeva, a lion. She provided much-needed levity to his dark and dismal world. She would talk at him incessantly until he eventually began replying to her. Before long he became comfortable conversing once more. As luck would have it, others began to find him. He began making friends, allowing others to find and stay with him. He found he enjoyed company, even if he didn't contribute a lot to the conversations. Eventually a truly bright spot arrived - in the form of Ziya. A more lovely mare Agares had never seen before, more so for the inner light she radiated. He may be colorblind but he could tell she was the brightest thing to ever grace his grove.
Rp needed:
- Solo rp of him talking with Daeva
- RPs with new acquaintances that visit, friendships to form (a few started, would love more)
- RP with Ziya (Started)
Arc 3 - Confronting the past
Surprises abound for the stallion as his mother makes a sudden reappearance. Things are tense at first. His only memory is of her leaving him, and she has to work hard to convince him to hear her out. Xeria, Agares' son, meets her as well and helps bridge the gap that too many years of pain had caused. She reveals that his father and sister are dead, to her sorrow. Things settle down as they re-acclimate to each other. Naamah tries to help him recover his lost memories, but her healing powers are not strong enough alone. They make peace anyway, and settle into as normal a life they can. Out of the blue Samael and Berith return to the grove, shocking everyone. Naamah is overcome with emotions and the family exchanges stories about the last few years. Around this time, Nita also returns to reveal to her family that she is with foals with her mate Galahad and wants to raise them around her family. Agares decides to start a family again as well.

There is a blissful time where the foals were roaming the forest, love was in the air, and everyone was content. Still, Naamah felt she owed her son better and the family decides to undertake a journey to a pure unicorn herd that was rumored to have formed. They take Agares there to try to heal his old injuries to give him back his memories, his color vision, and take away the curse of seeing the dead. Along the way there are many perils, but in the end they are successful in finding the herd and getting the healing he needed. Still, only his memories and color sight return. It seems Fate has other plans for his special vision.
Rp needed:
-Family RPs (not started)
-Friends RP, returning acquaintances, new friendships, etc (not started)
-Solo RP, Naamah and Agares and whoever else wants to join in - The journey to the Kateri (not started)
Arc 5 - Nothing Gold can Stay
The way home was still jovial, despite failing to heal him completely. Agares asserts that there was nothing to heal, and he was fine the way he was. He was thrilled to have his old memories back, however, and they spend the trip home reminiscing about old times. It's a long journey, fraught with danger - and here is where the darkness truly takes over. Agares is separated from the group and cursed with corpse powder (still working out the actual chain of events). He may have his memories back, but his heart is black and he travels far and wide to spread his new evil. He takes a perverse pleasure in watching a soquili as a living being turn into one as a ghost surrounding him. It seemed the two-legger's curse followed him into darkness as well. Perhaps it foreshadowed his fall. Whatever the case, he was now an engine for pure evil.
Rp needed:
- PRP, Returning party - happy rp of reminiscing, ends with Agares missing (not started)
- Solo RP - The Curse (not started)
- RPs of Agares the Catwalker wreaking havoc
- RPs of family/friends seeking Angeni/ attempting to charm Agares/ Or simply getting attacked by him
Arc 6 - Redemption at all Costs
After everything the family had gone through to be together, they were NOT going to give up on Agares now. They travel to the ends of the world with their Angeni friends and family in tow, tracking Agares down to charm him. It's a long journey, and there are several unsuccessful attempts to reclaim him. It takes a high emotional and physical toll on all involved, but in the end they are successful.
Rp needed:
- More Angeni seeking/attempts at charming
- More attacks
- RPs with family members expressing their sorrow
- The successful Charm
Arc 7 - Finally, peace
The charm works and Agares is returned, though he's a bit the worse for wear. He wants to descend into guilt and despair at his actions as a skinwalker, and it pains him greatly every time he catches his reflection and sees the pelt upon him. Still, with the unending support of his family and mate, who never abandoned him for a moment, he will come to forgive himself and settle in to a new life. He chooses to abandon the secluded grove that was his home for so many years, and the family takes up residence in a new place, for their new life.

History: Nita takes heavily after her father. She's on the quiet side, and is rather elusive. She prefers to stay in the shadows and observe the world, rather than take part in it.
She's a secretive one, always sticking to the shadows and observing the world with curious eyes. Her mother taught her the ways of being part flutter. Her father taught her about the shadows. With these skills she's become like a ghost to the soquili lands. She is calm, soft-spoken and mysterious. She offers little about herself to others and it takes a good deal of getting to know her before she'll divulge information about her family. She seems full of secrets.
Her family can trace vampirism and other darkness in its blood, and this is something Nita secretly fears. She knows she, herself and her brothers are unaffected, but they are not untouched by shadows. Like Agares, Nita can not see colors. She doesn't see the dead, as Agares claims, but she feels the presence of... something... she can't quite explain sometimes. She suppresses it and tries not to think on it.
Galahad, her mate, is the only one she can confide in outside her family. The stallion has come to know the secrets she has kept about her family and has yet to turn away from her. She is still surprised by this, as Galahad is so much a ray of sunlight to her - a white knight sent to save her. Yet she worries she will drag him down into darkness instead.
Nita sees herself as weak, and not just because of her small size. She is naive about the world and inexperienced in all things. She seeks to become stronger, wiser. She knows the path beside Galahad will help her in this, but she also knows she needs to strike out on her own.

Quirks: Skills: Powers from Domain: Influential domains may also be referred to as the emotional domains. These domains include things like love, sorrow, fear or truth. The angeni with these domains will create an effect just by being in an area. An angeni of sorrow may cause sadder emotions to become more prevalent when they are about and an angeni of truth may cause it so that lying becomes difficult in their presence. Additionally these soquili may knowingly use their powers to affect another creature. An angeni of love, for example, could knowingly push of feeling of love on a creature for whatever reason.
VALOR: the ability to inspire incredible courage to those around her.
All pure angeni also have an ability known as their “holy light” that only pure angeni, angenicorns, or direct offspring with compatible abilities (aka Non-Kalona) may use. They may manipulate the light for a short time either offensively or defensively. The most popular way to use the light is by focusing it around their bodies to blind enemies long enough to act or escape, and has a repellant towards certain breeds if the owner contains evil in their heart (Evil Minded Kalona. Skinwalkers.) though some individuals are capable of resisting it.
All angeni are capable of blessing other soquili in order to make the recipients stronger or faster. They may also impart a blessing on the Kawani people to help them with their harvest or hunts. These blessings are a conscious decision from the angeni that requires concentration and energy. The more energy they put into their prayers for a blessing the greater the outcome will be though the effects will remain temporary.
First generation, domained, pure angeni also have the ability to shape-shift in to a mortal guise. When they are shifted, they look just like any kawani native. They could pass off for human, though they are still 100% soquili. An angeni who does shift should know that it would take dedication and practice before they would begin to perceive, much less understand, the kawani language or tongue. Even those who are well practiced in the art and knowledge would still be a bit 'off' when compared to a human.
Location: Traveler
History: The twins come from a long line of pure angeni. Their history is shrouded in mystery, however. Neither one will speak about why they chose to descend from heaven and live among the "mortal" soquili of the land. Neither talks about home or their family, focusing only on the recent past, present, and future.
Personality: Micah is a pragmatic mare, often missing the point of frivolous things in favor of something practical. She's stubborn and quick to do battle for her beliefs and for those who can't defend themselves, though she never kills or does serious harm. She's adept at subduing her adversaries. Generally she is kind and giving, always offering help where she might provide some. She sees herself as a protector, a holy warrior.
She's serious to the point of coming across as rude. She can't stand small talk or what she deems "wasteful" conversations. She's often considered cold and emotionless, though that isn't strictly true. She does have feelings, but she chooses not to express them. She values being in control of herself. She can be quick to anger sometimes, particularly when defending her sister. Valoel is the only one Micah opens up to and whose company she always enjoys. Valoel is the light in a dark world for Micah.
Plots: 1. She is usually with her sister and will likely want to teach the foals Valoel takes under wing all she can.
2. She will come to the aid to anyone who seeks her out.
3. Meeting with conflict, trying to resolve issues without inflicting too much damage.
4. Perhaps meeting up with some form of healer, someone who will travel with her and help her in her quest for peace.

Meaning: Lyra is a constellation. Vega, Lyra's brightest star, is one of the brightest stars in the night sky, and forms a corner of the famed Summer Triangle asterism. In Greek mythology, Lyra represents the lyre of Orpheus. Made by Hermes from a tortoise shell, given to Apollo as a bargain, it was said to be the first lyre ever produced. Orpheus's music was said to be so great that even inanimate objects such as trees, streams, and rocks could be charmed. Joining Jason and the Argonauts, his music was able to quell the voices of the dangerous Sirens, who sang tempting songs to the Argonauts.
Hyperion is the largest of Saturn's irregular, nonspherical moons. The name Hyperion comes from the Greek god (or Titan) Hyperion (he who watches over). Hyperion, the son of Uranus and Gaia, is a brother of Kronus and the husband of Thea. The children of Hyperion and Thea include Helios (the sun), Eos (the dawn) and Selene (the Moon).
