Iloziya had left home, left and simply didn't stop. He'd been lucky during his time in the Roguelands, finding food as he needed it and water sources as well. The further he got the more the skies seemed to be shower him with large droplets.

Rumor had it that there was a pride around here, one that required a challenge to gain entry, something that was right up his alley - being mostly brawn, with a slight tricksters brain.

So now he decided to seek out an individual to make an attempt at this so called challenge.

Hylinn was proud to be a Reaver, though he was still annoyed by how long it had taken to earn the rank. But no one could take it away from him now, especially not the stranger standing at the edge of the Myrsky Syntynyt lands.

He surveyed the other male. A distinctive white mane practically glowed against his dark fur. And purple markins? Weird in combination. Nothing Hylinn had ever seen before. Not neccessarily bad, but not necessarily good.

"What do you want, stranger?" Hylinn snarled.

The dark markings of the other that had seemingly come out of no where had clearly blended in well to the environment - he took note of this and approached with a defiant snarl of his own.

"I think you know what I'd like." Iloziya stared the other down, feeling pride in himself and strength pulsing from that pride. "Will you challenge me?"

The dark lion puffed out his chest, gave his damp mane a good toss and extended claws - all meant to be a threat.

Hylinn snorted. Clearly, the idiot didn't know how things worked around here. And he wasn't opposed to wasting the other's time while he could. If only because of how much it would piss him off.

"Of course I won't," Hylinn replied sharply. "I have no need to challenge some scruffy stranger who has simply appeared on our border. Why should anyone waste time or effort on you?"

He sniffed audibly, nose in the air.

His yellow eyes narrowed and he snorted at the response given by the other, he was visibly annoyed by the attitude supplied in heaps. "Have you no honor?" He growled back, just wondering why anyone would be so foolish, then a thought occurred to him.

"Or are you.. scared?!" A grin slowly crawled onto his maw as he awaited a response from the other. In the eyes of Iloziya that was the only reason he'd have to back down from a challenge. Of course.. now it was simply more of a taunt.

"I simply see no reason to waste my time and effort on some random rogue like yourself," Hylinn replied snidely. "It's not a quesiton of fear or honor. Simply...disdain."

He sniffed again, and deliberately turned to head back to the pride.

"Disdain?" The word was said in disgust under his breath. Then many emotions struck him at once - he'd been a Kings son, the son of a worthy and devoted Mother. That pride that had fueled his feeling of strength wasn't going to let him sit idly by while this scum uttered words like disdain.

That was that, enough of the chatter - it had been long enough, maybe to long.

"Aaaaah!"

Decidedly he moved with a pace that would have looked strangely fast for the bulk of a lion he was and taking advantage of the now turned lion he leaped - intending to come crashing down upon the other in a surprise attack of sorts (less surprising with the guttural cry.

He wasn't entirely surprised by the attack from behind - he had provoked it after all. But Hylinn hadn't expected his opponent to be so poweful and he let out a cry of his own.

Gritting his teeth, the navy lion reached back with unsheathed claws, trying to rake the stranger until he let go. There wasn't much else he could do right now, besides flail and try to break free.

The rush of adrenaline from his attack had him reeling - something that wasn't productive in his position and so when the other turned to attack him he lost some footing, but not all was a loss for if he was going down he'd try to take the other with him.

Iloziya felt himself begin to roll to the side, the unfortunate side effect, but rather than trying to reach out and catch himself on the ground he decided to dig into his competition, paws seeking the others side for flesh to tear into and roll him as well.

All the while, wounds from the navy lions claws bled, giving a pink hue to his white mane and darkening a purple marking. Neither of which he's noticed just yet.

He felt the blood on his claws, but while that was satisfying, it wasn't helping him to get free in the least. So Hylinn opted to stop seeking his opponent's blood - for the moment, and began bucking and twisting and writhing, trying to disengage from the stranger's grip.

This was not at all how he imagined this challenge going. Worse than that, it was somewhat embarrassing.

Claws found his opponents pelt and perhaps even a small amount of flesh, but he didn't gain an opportunity to enjoy the moment as he was submitted to a brutal amount of force suddenly bubbling from the navy lion. In their twist he felt a discernible blow to the gut that he hadn't expected and suddenly he felt the wind knocked out of him.

Heaving a deep breath he simply grabbed on harder - seeking any form of flesh while he attempted to right himself from the awkward position and all the while trying to get in a full and proper breath. All in all he was sure things were going his way, but he pushed to try and pin his opponent.

Growls were rumbling deep in his chest as he fought on, a snarl still plain as day on his maw. Yellow eyes still staring down what was likely now the side of the navy lions face with the twist he'd made.

It was no use, he couldn't shake the other male off. And now his face had somehow gotten suspiciously close to his enemy's. Unsheathing his claws again, Hylinn reached out towards those yellow eyes, so bright in the dark fur of the other's face.

He would not give in so easily, damnit!

That precious moment of being able to truly stare down his opponent was faced with a quick finale as claws came to quickly into view and suddenly he saw red. "Agh!" Iloziya shouted out and lost some hold on the other. He opened the attacked eye, fearing the worst, but it seemed he'd gotten lucky. Though not blinded by the lion he would certainly have some vision issues later in life - for now he was literally seeing red.

He'd fallen to his back in all of the commotion surround the attack on his face - realizing his damned position he began to try and get back up, find some proper balance again if he was so lucky.

Luck would have it that he'd get himself back up again, with that speed that just seemed odd on him.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 04, 2016 4:22 pm

Finally he had disconnected from his opponent! Hylinn took the opportunity to turn himself around so that he was facing the stranger and to get his feet back underneath him. To be balanced was one of the key points in any fight, and if he set himself up properly, there'd be no further humiliation in his near future.

The Reaver waited patiently for his opponent's new attack.

"Have you had enough?" The battle was short and the tactic was obvious, he was taking a moment to gather his breath - a pain rang out with each one suggesting that perhaps he'd been attacked a small touch higher in the body than expected, but the dark lion ignored it.

Iloziyas yellow eyes focused on his opponent, watching him finish up righting himself. "I'm not so sure you have." He lunged forward again, he wasn't thankful for many things, but his legs - those he was thankful for.
