He was finally alone, and he knew he was alone because he had left strict instructions to batter anyone that came near him after he had been assaulted by a lioness who was desperately trying to overcompensate for...well...everything. He couldn't quite put his paw on it, but she certainly had something bothering her and she was so determined to hide it, or make up for it, that she was recklessly pursuing others when she shouldn't have been.

It was an incredible waste.

Yet now that he was able to relax and his wound had been dressed (again), his mood was returning to a much more pleasant one. It took more energy for him to remain furious after all; if he wanted to take offence at everything then he was going to have to focus more on trivial issues than major ones and that just didn't suit him... Thus it was with this in mind that the lion finally gave a sigh of relief and lowered his head to his paws. He could sleep again, at least that was his intention, and when he awoke he would feel refreshed.

Unfortunately, Tethys rarely had anything go to plan in his life and even as he began to drift in to the world of dreams, another entity was fully preparing to ruin his day.

There he was! Her son had proven to be an elusive beast since he had come home and she was beginning to see why. It had only been his mighty roar that had allowed her to locate him, and there he was, preparing to slip into a world of dreams. He was once again injured, though on this occasion it seemed that most of the damage had healed? She had been given cause to raise a brow as she came near, inspecting him without aiming to disturb him.

...Really, there was only one fresh wound and that might have been the one that had caused him to roar. Might it also have been related to the young lioness she had seen scampering off? It had been an unusual exit as well, she hadn't seemed scared but she'd seemed quite anxious, one did have to wonder what had happened.

Nevertheless, the deity was at least relieved to see that he was better than he'd been the last few times even if some of his healed wounds were very fresh. Beyond looking tired he was less worse for wear than the last few times, it was enough to settle her nerves at least. She had been in two minds about disturbing him, yet as she continued to watch her youngest son he soon opened an eye just a touch and caused her to startle.

"You may walk quietly but your gaze burns, you know that?" Tethys asked with a mild smile on his lips. He was at least relieved to see his mother was still making herself comfortable in their home. All things considered she seemed a lot more settled than the last time, even though he had come back wounded again. Or rather he had come back with healing wounds and found himself the subject of an assault instead. As far as he was concerned reopened wounds didn't count...and it was clear this one had been received here.

"To what do I owe the pleasure today?" he asked curiously and tilted his head to the side. He finally opened his eyes fully and regarded his mother carefully, her measured mood seemed to indicate she wasn't looking for a fight this time. If anything, she seemed to be more inquisitive than anything... ah, but hadn't she spoken to his father once or twice when Zili had arrived? That had been some time ago but perhaps he had said something that had tempered her behaviour.

...Destati would never stifle her, but he certainly had a way of calming her.

"And before you ask, I'm fine, this will heal in no time..."

"I'm going to assume that your injury has something to do with the lioness that scurried off with her tail between her legs," Ari glanced back over her shoulder the way she had come. The goddess had already made a mental note to say hello to the lioness again, if only to check that she was all right. While Tethys may not have inflicted any visible wounds on her, it had been the first time Ari had ever heard him yell quite so angrily... It was bound to have left some sort of dent.

Nevertheless, now that her son was awake she did pad a little closer and lifted her paw to prod at his injury. It would need to be dressed again, but he seemed to have disarmed her fast enough to prevent permanent damage. She could only wince at just how hard that lioness might have been hit if she'd only managed to dent him, especially if he had been trying to sleep.

...Maybe he was like his father? Destati had never much liked disturbances while trying to sleep either. Sleep was invaluable after all... One didn't know when they would be able to do so peacefully, or that's what he'd always said. She couldn't quite understand it as she'd always managed to settle comfortably anywhere; or rather she had been able to until she'd had her heart to heart with him.

"I've long accepted that your injuries are now just a part of you," she said with a sigh and shook her head. "I wasn't here for that though, I just wanted to make sure you hadn't done something silly..." she mused and raised both brows. "Like murder someone."

So his father had gotten to her, she would have never conceded that his injuries were par for the course otherwise! He sent a silent thanks to his father for intervening on that score and then chuckled. Ah, so it also seemed like the deity had also seen Nebrius scurrying away as well - he surmised that the deity had therefore been hiding in her mortal forms to avoid a stir...otherwise he suspected she may not be here now, she'd have caused too much of a distraction.

"I have more self control than that," Tethys pointed out gently and shook his head. "She shouldn't have done what she did but she'll learn," he murmured. He was going to try and remain optimistic even if he wasn't sure that he would see the desired outcome. "I met Solomon finally," he changed the subject and grinned as his mother perked up considerably.

"You'll be please to know he's in good spirits," he continued and pursed his lips. "Certainly not afraid to tell it like it is either," he added.

What came next was a barrage of questions that only a loving parent could possibly come up with; all of which he would be expected to answer!

Well that would be his afternoon sorted...
