Setting Aos Sí Kingdom The whole kingdom is still in the WIP Process on my private guild so isn't really fully ready or officially posted, but there is still a LOT of information (Mostly vocabulary and culture) there that is important to understand the kingdom this village is part of on the outter most edges.
Ceannaiche stad Village (Keh-anna-eye-cheh stad)
Village proper Things I DO know about the village not currently written out properly in setting
the rough layout Consists of about 5-7 trees in on the hill in the village proper where the village is mostly built into in a much more visible way than in Aos Si kingdom Proper. Three trees in Particular create Down Town Ceannaiche Stad. Not including The Journey's End Inn and the Inn's owner's private warren, There are about five properties literally dug into the Hill itself. One of these properties is The Blacksmith, who is being quested by Pandora Talie As for the other four properties, if you're interested Give me a proposal of why you think your character should get one of these bigger, more elaborate earth houses to get it okayed: Most likely best for businesses open during the special tourist seasons, they need a studio as an artist, or maybe you're just really rich. Give me a general idea of what it looks like and what it is used for. They have a messenger business of Troghan in the central most "Mother Tree", where there are also quite a few businesses and the Town hall and communal center. While the Inn is the biggest, most active restaurant and bar, and the only "Hotel" open year round. There are others that are either smaller or only open during certain times of the year (typically when there is heavier tourist activity, such as during the Journey festival and Feast week) Some villagers are transient, only living there a little before and after the major tourist seasons, and hire locals to tend to their properties when they are gone. The Seabhaidche can possibly get some lookalikes as actual mutant mice, these do not get the magic powers of the spirit they look after, but are considered incredibly lucky. They would be unable to win costume contests for looking like the seabhaidche though, but would get the automatic option to join as an honor guard during the parade for the biggest float-- if there are too many of them interested it'd be raffled between them and the others held in reserve or given other important duties/automatically signed into the spot of honor for Feast week's bonfire lighting. There is a Small spring that starts on the eastern most part of the village and becomes a stream through the Cadal Fonn All the streets are cobblestone and lined with naturally glowing pebbles, making this area. Lots of spiraling ramps around the trees and bridges through the branches. Due to this village being a lot more visible than most of the Aos Si, they spend less time on camouflage and thus a lot of the places can be elaborately decorated. Locals do not share with transient citizens or travelers the fact that the mouth of the statue opens in the Traveler Shrine, since they don't want strangers to feed it solid objects or things that could get stuck or rot. Excluding the Hutch, Orchard, Cadal Fonn, and The Ag'cadal Tost Stable grounds, the town's approximately an acre of land -- the hill is mostly just an over hyped mound.
Cadal Fonn (Kah-dahl F-ohnn)
Cadal Fonn (Sleeping Land) consists of the more wild land directly east of the village's hill, belonging to the town communally, though some villagers own private properties within it for weekend getaways, rental cabins for The Journey Festival, or if they're more antisocial as their main home. It's about four square miles of land, with one mile mostly just grasses, and the rest more forest. The north western edge of the forest bleeds into the orchard a little.
"Orchard and Hutch" North of The Ag'cadal Tost Stable is a communal farm about 1 square mile big belonging to the villagers and the Resting Stop Stable's family, known simply as "hutch", where some of the larger foods are grown and larger food animals are kept. Said animals are about six Cearc (feral minded chickens) and three turkeys -- all of which are very carefully contained since they could quite easily kill and eat many of the small familiars and flutters if they got loose, and multiple hutches of Miniature Coinean and Calma Coinean (Feral minded rabbits: Miniatures are for fur and Calma are like cattle), as well as several beehives, also managed by the family in charge of The Ag'cadal Tost Stable, as well as Flutter-mixes that live in the village that have either paws or claws instead of hooves.
East of Hutch is Orchard, about one and a half miles of fruiting trees: mostly Apples, pears, and Cherries. Some members of the village have private properties here much like in the Cadal Fonn. There is also a set Fairground area in the area between Orchard and downdown Ceannaiche Stad, where most of the activities of The Journey Festival and Feast Week happen. Throughout Orchard, several public campgrounds that are free to use but have strong fines for leaving a mess, vandalism, or causing fights are available for campers to set out during the two popular holidays.
Between Orchard and hutch is a Half Mile of Vineyard for eating and wine making grapes
Ceann Turas Inn - Journey's End Inn (Key-ann duh-ras)
A Rather Open and visible location compared to much of the kingdom, the entrance way built under some rocks and its opening decorated merrily with found items and finely familiar crafted banners and signs, the An Ceann Turas Inn, also often just called "Journey's End Inn" is run by a Lifemated (Though Lovemated by Kawani standards due to their Open relationship.) couple of Sidhe (Pureblooded Flutters) And their occasionally mixed heritage offspring, and built into a well decorated and shaped rabbit warren, given many group stables and even the occasional private room, as well as serving prepared foods and drinks and providing song and entertainment.. All are welcome to take shelter, and grazing is free within their territory, but prepared foods and private rooms require some form of payment in return. They're a popular watering hole for working familiars, primarily mice and squirrels, and patrons that treat familiars poorly are quickly asked to leave. Fighting is forbidden within their territory. Hunting must be limited to non-familiar game (Such as fish or insects). Dragonflies, Spiders, and Butterflies are forbidden game however, as they are commonly kept as pets. And since it's generally forbidden to hunt-to-kill fireflies (as their most popular outdoor light source and are raised regularly by those who live there. They're bitter and nasty tasting anyway) or Bees (for their honey and wax (Though if you own a Hive your self, if you wish to raise them less for their wax and honey and more for their stings, venom, and meat it is within your right to do so) within the kingdom it doesn't really need mentioning to the locals but they will remind you of this anyway with regularity due to the fact they get enough travelers from other areas to make it clear that it is forbidden.
Is a Common Place for Outsider Flutters to stop buy and get their first taste of the culture as it is clearly advertised and designed with Flutters in mind, and out in the open (but protected from most attacks), and decorated with flower designs to invite them in. Their territory for grazing is marked by the short fence around the tall rock spires (just below knee high for a full sized soquili, though some reach stomach height, making it difficult to walk into this part of the property) and flowering shrubs (for the nectar drinkers) semi-circling the southern side of the property, protecting the few yards (several acres for the small flutters) of property from getting stepped on absent mindedly. The stone spires are built into open mounds, simple shelters set up so travelers simply in need of a place to set up a camp, having brought portable shelter, have a place to do so.
The Traveler's Shrine Along the hillside leading away from the Journey's End inn, following the path of glowing stones and paralleling the main road through the South Eastern Valley's Aos Si Kingdom, before the miniature road forks to meet the main road or head up into the village, there is a Shrine built partially into the hillside.
The open faced buildin has a tall, steeply sloped roof tiled with Silvery white shingles made out of polished shells, allowing shelter form the passing of the sun and from rain for the offerings and shrine figurine set inside, but allowing it open access to the Wishing Star, allowing the light from the star to shine all the way to the back of the shrine. The central feature of the shrine is an elaborate statue carved from the wood a knotted tree root from the Mother tree of Ceannaiche Stad Village of a hybrid creature with the head, front legs and wings of a Songbird, but with the back legs, thumbs, and tail of a Mouse, it’s spread wings flight feathers acting as the back wall of the alter and made with actual butterfly wings pressed and glazed onto the carved wooden shapes of elaborate fairy wings. The wooden statue itself is guilded with a thin bit of gold and silver to outline the details and star sapphire eyes, and stained a rich, deep, glossy mahogany. This statue is known simply as “The Traveler” and is made in honor of a spirit thought to have founded the village and watch over it still.
Several layers of tables stand at either side of the statue, angling outward toward the opening, with posts and baskets set out for offerings to be placed for travelers to take, and incense and a flint and steal lighter to burn the cones and sticks of incense in offering. Like many traveler shrines, it acts as both a shrine for the wishing star, as well as a place to wish for safe travels on a journey or good luck in life by leaving offerings for travelers and any sort of traveling spirit.
However locals know a little secret about the shrine: One of the feathers of The Traveler is a button, and pressing it opens the mouth of the strange gryphon like creature that looks as if it’s in mid flight, making it look as if it sings, opening up its throat. Locals bring special bowls to the shrine on nights where the wishing star shine if they have an especially big wish, made of blackened wood or black polished stone, and a vial of spring water. In the light of the wishing star, they set the bowl at the feet of the Traveler and fill It with the spring water, causing the wishing star to shine in the bowl as if it was living in the shrine itself. They then offer the “Star” food (traditionally something that dissolves, such as honey) or drink) and then snuffing out the incense into the water when they are done and mixing the ashes into the water. They mark themselves and then “Feed” The Traveler the mixture down the now open mouth as an offering to the traveler to help relay their wishes. Solid offerings are left specifically worn by or left at the feet of the traveler. The Traveler’s mouth is then closed, and they take their bowl and empty vial back home with them to any sort of private shrine they may have. Thankfully, leaving such offerings is safe, as the shrine was built to allow the liquids to drain safely away from the shrine, and the inner mouth of the statue is a glass tube to protect the wood of the statue.
Every week any left over offerings are removed and once every few months a messenger takes the items to the main Aos Si Kingdom Open Markets and the money is used to help feed travelers, maintain the shrine, and generally help the local community as a whole.
Seabhaidche - The Traveler
A Spirit with the tail and back legs of a mouse, the legs and head of a songbird, and wings made of a mixture of bird and fairy, The Traveler (or Seabhaidiche (Seab-hai-di-chee)) that is depicted in the Traveler's Shrine is a symbol or mascot of the village (much like how Kawani use Totem polls or Loch Ness uses Nessie/Bavaria uses Wolpertingers), and a lot of artwork and signs in the village use depictions the Seabhaidche. It's not uncommon for lots of merchandise depicting the towns Spirit guardian to appear around the Journey Festival and Feast Week for tourists to take home with them.
In addition, during Journey Festival Contests for costumes based on their spirit are hosted, and the Best of each contest category often gets to ride on the best float to represent the spirit during The Journey Festival while all the others are encouraged to join in marching with the the float.
Seabhaidche has no 'official' coloration, and can have a variety of crests, display feathers, and wing shapes though Popular depictions include:
Vibrant oilslick colored feathers lined in gold, pale iridescent 'flight flutters', and raven black fur with goldenen skin, claws, and beak, and Bright blue eyes. Blood red ruby coloration with golden wing flutters, pale gold fur, and black skin, beak, claws, and Bright silver eyes. Colored like a night sky with glowing white eyes with long trailing wispy and white display feather eyelashes or glowing smoke from the eyes like a comet's tail Vibrant rainbow of colors with black eyes Deep Green feathers, Pale gold fur with white spots, black beak and bird claws, white tail and back feet, and golden eyes.
The Ag'cadal Tost Stable - The Resting Stop Stable (akatal dosd) Neighboring the village is a single fullsized structure known as the Ag'cadal Tost or the "Resting Stop" Stable. It has a single for pay private room on the bottom capable of comfortably holding two fullsizes and three foals under two years of age or three fullsized soquili. On the side furthest from the village is a broad overhang with a built in table and a locking built in chest where more fullsizeds could shelter for free overnight, though its often used as a dining area for their paid guests. On the side closest to the village and along the back is the Troghan Aviary and Sian Coinean Stable for the village and travelers to use for their steeds if they lack private shelters for them, as well some hutches for Miniature fur Coinean and the food grade Calma Coinean.
Above it lives the owner of the Stable, a Raccoon and his mate who hail from the neighboring North Eastern Mion-Shrad Kingdom of Pixies, in an apartment set above the dining area, while a few more smaller rental rooms for larger Familiars: Some designed Specifically for birds and others designed more for Raccoons, river otters, Rabbits and bobcats in mind. To the west, there is a firepit and room for a small party to camp and still get the benefits of being at the Resting Stop instead of camping out on Crossroad Clearing.
They have a partnership with Journey's End Inn where the smaller Inn can sell drinks and any sort of dishes that could be put in a bag and sized up for full sized individuals from their menu to guests at The Resting Spot, and there is a tube with an amplifier than can be opened for guests that goes directly from the musical stage of the Inn so Guests can enjoy the music for the inn in exchange for tips for the players.
The owner of The Resting Stop also sells supplies for travelers to stock up on, One of the last spots for fullsized individuals from any of the kingdoms to get supplies before heading into Mainland Kawani.
In addition, they have their own travelers Shrine built into the dining shelter's farthest side for larger travelers to leave offerings or take an item they feel they may need in the near future that had been left by another traveler. Unlike the smaller but much more elaborate shrine, it acts equally as a trading post like the many across the Kawani lands. Item's that are left for more than a month are taken down, sold in either Mion-Shrad or Brughadair kingdoms, and the wealth used to feed travelers unable to afford a warm meal.
The Crossroad Clearing Market and The Journey Festival The main pass where the four directions split to the three "Fae" Kingdoms and the Kawani mainland. The Mountains are high and there are a couple miles of grass lands plus the dusty beaten trails. On the side between the southwestern pass toward the Brughadair and the true south pass leading to the Kawani lands, about 20 miles from where the village is, there is a particularly flat clearing jutted up against a steep cliff about ten yards tall, with a narrow fish rich stream cutting through it. A sparsely populated village there and a single earthen mound home host about twenty small families (About a handful combined of river otters and Raccoons, and the rest a smattering of various familiars and about four soquili) that live there full time. However once a year the population explodes as traders from all three kingdoms (and some from the Kawani lands who know of this location) get together to sell goods.
The Annual Crossroad Clearing Market, set in late spring to early summer for about three weeks, also causes Ceannaiche stad Village's population to boost to large numbers, many of those who live there making additional money by renting out rooms from their private homes and transforming them temporarily into beds and breakfasts, and many even own houses they upkeep but leave otherwise empty that they rent out. Many businesses in Ceannaiche Stad also open only during this time. There is also a street party and a parade hosted during this time, making the usually sleepy port town become a bustling location of music, food, and celebration.
Some members of the Aos Si kingdom come to Ceannaiche Stad during the main festival hosted near the last week of the Market Season, is known as "The Journey Festival" just to take part of the parties, fairs, and parades going on during this time, ignoring the Crossroad Market completely just to descend on this small town to celebrate.
During this time, the borders of Ceannaiche Stad Village spreads out to the north and to the east into the Orchard and Hutch Lands.
Feast Week Feast Week is a holiday in mid Autumn hosted by many villages throughout the three kingdoms, celebrating food and drink, and frequently enjoying the weather while it's still good before the winter months hit the valleys.
There are many towns that have well known Feast weeks, and despite being a sleepy little village most of the year, Ceannaiche Stad is one of the places that some of the most western citizens of the Aos Si and the smallest citizens living on the closest parts of the neighboring kingdoms will go out of their way to celebrate the week at as an autumn vacation. While no where near as crowded as during the Journey's festival, the population expands once again and shops reopen for the street party and the fair that opens up during this time to join into the cook offs and food contests and to show off their brews and other fermented drinks. Once again the Seabhaidche is prominent, this time as a giant (Two foot tall) Woven effigy made of sage, burned along side offerings of carefully selected food and incense, as well as packets to create non-toxic glowing colored smoke to the spirit on the final night of the Feast week for the final all night party. 20 individuals are chosen to toss the burning torches into the effigy's pile. The ashes are then spread on the field and orchard, encouraging a bountiful harvest for the next year.
Because of the Hutch and Orchard and large collection of bee's, the village's annual feast is often considered one of the best in the kingdoms, due to having food uncommon to the rest of the Aos Si, where such farms are uncommon due to how thickly wooded most of it is.
Winter Season and Winter Solstice At villages and cities in the Aos Si kingdom that are not hidden away from outsiders, nights may be darker, but these more visible villages, such as the capital of the kingdom and Ceannaiche Stad village as more lights are added beyond the usual little gas lamps and candles, and look strangely modern to our sensibilities: Strings of little chips of glowing rocks, large enough to fill the fist of a mouse, are strung up outside the Mouse and Squirrel built houses and often decorating the insides of the main living areas.
Many houses, throughout the year, have white chips of glowing stone in hallways, but in the winter, it's become a tradition to either put little glass caps over them to make them different colors, or string out chips of naturally glowing in different colored stones.
The Amount of these lightstones and the types used can often be used as a way to show off. Most do just simple strings along the roof and windows of a solid color or a mix of a few colors, while other houses may use glowing stones that release thin whisps of light or twinkle or pulse or even shift color naturally and string them decoratively everywhere, or even make decorations out of larger stones, such as owning sculptures of depictions of protective spirits or miniature trees.
Ceannaiche Stad Village and the Capital both decorate the entire trees they're built into in these tiny lights. Both tend to have strings of white along the streets year round, but come the holidays, twinkly colored bead lights are strung up festively everywhere with brightly colored ribbons, and the lights are strung up all the way to the tips of each branch of the trees that make up their downtown area. Individuals who own a neighboring tree may also end up decorating their entire tree if they wish.
Winter Solstice is also a time of celebration and feasts for the Aos Si, and it is treated as something of a mix of Dia Los Muertos and Christmas: A time where the barrier between the mortal realm and the Spirit realm is thinner, and the spirits of those who have passed may come back to visit, and the celebrations are set to keep the dark spirits away and welcome the friendly ones in.

• No Openly Evil Characters may join, and they will be eventually found out. • Your character does not need to necessarily have a job, but part of the fun of it IS that this is literally a town
Visiting Character Rules
• No predation: No hunting of any sort is allowed on the grounds except in designated areas, and even then it is only on non-spirit touched non-familiar creatures. • If you don't have money to pay or items to trade, many businesses are willing to barter for work done. • There are Latrine areas. Use them, not the roads, path, or people's businesses/homes. • Confirmed thieves will be stripped of any valuables found on them and will spend overnight in a holding cell at the police office... If small enough to fit in it (otherwise you might find yourself tied to a tree overnight with a guard). Items (other than what you stole) will be returned when released.

Coldbelly Forge Being a small town, only one blacksmiths shop is set up. However, also being a trading town that sometimes expands in population sometimes of the year and other times of the year are nearly completely self reliant, it's a fairly large blacksmith's shop owned by Pandora Talie, the towns only permanent lizard resident.
Owner/Head Blacksmith Coming soon Pandora Talie's Head blacksmith: Domm Gideon
The Drunken Seabhaidche Bar and Brewery A touristy trap bar in the heart of town. The locals tend to prefer journey's end inn due to The Drunken Seabhaidche only being open part of the year when tourists are in town, but will sometimes buy barrels of brew from the owners out of season for private use. Some of their brands are also sold at Journey's end Inn along with other local brews.

Muirne owns and runs Preas na Dearc, making jams, jellies, preserves, pickles, syrups, and fruit butters. It's a full-time business, broadly speaking, but goes through phases: during the off-season, Muirne does all the preserving, brewing, bottling, and canning, spending the majority of her days just making stock, filling orders of local businesses and residents; during the busy season, she sells the majority of her stock to travelers and visitors. It's often a busy and rough schedule, but she makes it work. To help the business during the off-season, Muirne does run a bed-and-breakfast for one small group or family of travelers during the busy season.
The Hostel that needs a name When your town's population quadruples some times of the year, hotels and hostels are important: Not everyone can room in the Journey's end Inn.Because of this, Cheap Hostels open up during festivals and events that can host a number of visitors.Serves simple foods for breakfast that can be prepared in bulk far in advance or gathered in the nearby properties in the morning. Lunch and breakfast is fend for yourself.

Torri's Honey Are they open year round?: No, she runs a stall at festivals/faires, and somewhat randomly throughout the warmer months when she has extra time and stock
Need honey? Torri's got you covered! She keeps an increasing number of hives ("How many? As many as I can handle!" ) and jars their excess honey. She mostly barters or gifts these away privately to people she's acquainted with, like her sister Quinley, but she will occasionally set up stalls for a wider audience to sample her wares. She's been experimenting with mead recipes, but hasn't gotten it quite right yet.
