A Sky Full of Stars
August's Monthly Background RP! Opens: Now! Closes: August 31st @ 11:59 PM EST! Reminder: If you won a Familiar the month of August you will not be eligible to win this pet. But Cherie strongly suggests that you enter anyway! If you like... things... you may wish to enter.
This pair of turtles never really noticed the stars above them during their many journeys across the ocean until one day a great storm chased them out of the deep and into the shallows. All but beached, they had little to do until the tide came in once more. One of the twins noticed something very interesting about the specks above them-- specks they had heard of in legend, and had certainly observed before themselves-- and that was that they never seemed to change. Their positions appeared to be fixed... quite unlike the bio-luminescent beings that they had known before, themselves included! Perhaps the stars were a sort of map, that, when the tide returned, they could use to find their way home.

Prompt: Does anyone in your herd have a connection to space or stars? Do any of your sorts like to wander, and perhaps get lost in the process? This does not have to relate to the turtles at all, but can!
It is storm season in the Kawani Lands and these turtles have been caught by a massive storm that, as the one in June, seems to have a somewhat magic origin. Trapped near land, they are trying to figure out how to use the stars as a guide to return them to their home. The stars seem unnaturally bright of late, and rumor has it that the Wishing Star may have been spotted, though that rumor has not been confirmed. Certainly these conditions seem conducive to its return.
**Please note: If your prompt response meets the word count requirement for stats you can also link your post in the monthly stat thread and count it as RP for your pony.**
Prizes
This pair of twin turtles might need a little help finding their way home!
To enter: please post a current pre-existing RP (since June 2017) that is related to stars, voyages, or getting lost! Adventure roleplays will also count. Each entrant will get at least one ticket -- non-staffers get two tickets by default. If you do not have a RP, please post a response to the above prompt. You may enter as many times as you wish, but each entry must be with a different character and with a separate RP. RPs must be at least five posts long to be counted. RP prompt responses may be as short as two sentences! We're not asking for a novel. Once again, you cannot use the same RP for multiple Soquili!
Note: This will count for your August familiar freebie.

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: Uta Who are you entering with? Forsilvra Link to the RP you're using: N/A Prompt response: The mare looked up at the stars, curious as to why they were so bright. It had been some time since she saw them in such good form -- and she could feel the whispers and hints that something important was in the works. Still, the mare with her own star spots, gave a shake of her long hair as she looked back down to the earth. How long ago had she followed the stars down to the Kawani? And for what purpose?
The stars had been vague. They had said she was to travel south and wait... but she had waited, and waited, and while she did not doubt her fortune, she couldn't help but wonder what she was waiting for. Something, or someone... Glancing back up at the stars, she gave a flick of her tail. They were certainly feeling confident tonight.
And tonight. . . once again, she was destined to wait. So wait she would, until the stars decided to reveal their secrets.

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: Nashawryn Who are you entering with? Lady Blodeuyn Link to the RP you're using: n/a Prompt response: The lantern hung heavy from her side, swaying and swinging around with each of Blodeuyn's steps. She searched through the darkness for the one who's cry had called her, "Lost! I am so lost!" Blodeuyn looked up at her guide, the map of stars that would show her the direction she must take once she found the disoriented one. They were the only true path for her.
Blodeuyn surged forwards, moving faster as she neared her goal, the light of the stars and moon showing Blodeuyn her goal. This night another lost one would be recovered, all thanks to the stars that succored and guided.

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Who are you entering with? Casalure Duskbringer Link to the RP you're using: N/A Prompt response: Amused as she broke cover and looked around at the dead end, the dusk-colored mare gave a sigh. "I guess I probably should have taken the other path, after all.. Since none of this really seems familiar." Well and truly lost, which was just the way she liked it and therefore no great loss, Casalure sought out the best vantage point and curled her legs under as she laid down. The plateau was soft with thick green grass, slightly cool against her hide and perfect for resting. Below, the lowlands sprawled, shadowed and thick with trees with a ribbon of river winding through them. Above, the sky sprawled dark and vast, scattered with stars. The flecks of light winked and glittered above, and she let her attention be captivated by them until the sound of approaching paws drew her attention. "Well, it's about time you found me, I've been lost for hours, you know. Nevermind, the stars are beautiful. Come over here and watch with me for awhile, then you can show me the way home."

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: LunaRei_SilverBlood Who are you entering with? Nebula Link to the RP you're using: NA Prompt response: Nebula frowned as she felt the prickling in her spine. The whispered echoes from long before she joined the Dream Walker herd crept it's way back into her mind. She had always forced herself to banish the thoughts as they would only get her in trouble... She was an Oracle after all, her full belief had to be in this herd. Everything else was just... Dreams.
She raised her head and felt the prickling... The voice... When the stars are the brightest you'll feel him. Your brother will come, one day. Just believe when you feel it and he will come. Nebula left a jewel from her head piece as an offering like she had been told too.
A brother... She could have no other attachments but that strange longing filled her heart. She wanted so badly to meet her brother. Whenever she felt this prickling feeling the blind mare would ask if something was different and learned that the starts were at their brightest. She secretly hoped with all her being that she would no longer be alone in this world and her brother would finally arrive and take her with him!

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: LunaRei_SilverBlood Who are you entering with? Lutra Link to the RP you're using: NA Prompt response: Stormy Night had really outdone herself... The mare was quiet the mapper. Granted the only one that the herd has ever experienced but she seemed to be spot on. She had predicted that the starts would be at their brightest and so the Wishing Star should be seen...
It was selfish, Lutra new that. Wishing to have someone in this life... Be it a mate or even a new foal... Something that was his. He loved his herd and his son, but Illumi was an adult now and needed Lutra less and less. And with so little time finding a mate had been exceptionally hard. A mare that would become the herds Alpha female. That was a lot to offer someone. Sometimes Lutra would star at the stars and think that the only way for him to find true love would be if the Stars created her for him.
The same could be said about being a father again... He was never able to have his own foals. His son Illuminatus came from the wishing star as well. Maybe Lutra was destined to the whims of the stars and if that was the case he would do everything he could to never miss a chance to ask for family should they decide to grant it! So here he stood, offering a lick of his green flame with hope filling his heart.

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: Moxxiie Who are you entering with? Shania Link to the RP you're using: n/a Prompt response: The stars twinkled above her as a light warm breeze rustled her mane. She sighed contentedly and gazed up at the sky. The moon was a bright beacon in the western sky, nearing it's full cycle. She had always enjoyed the quietness of the night, especially since she had met Dhiren. She no longer felt nervous or anxious about the dark. She smiled at his sleeping form in the distance. Her critter friends were nestled in against him, curled up in his glorious mane and tail. She turned her gaze back to the stars and stretched her wings open wide. It felt like just the night to enjoy a night flight with the stars and moon as her guides.

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: Rein_Carnation Who are you entering with? Andromeda Link to the RP you're using: N/a Prompt response: It seems she traveled these lands following the constellations as her coat glistened under the stars. Ages passing still no luck traps her thoughts unwillingly searching endless for the one that found her. Not once did her thoughts go idle though even after the stars had passed over for years. "You are out there somewhere my devoted friend. Even past the storms, the seasons, and confusions you await me under the starry sky". Frivolous it seemed she never lost hope rather she became more capricious in determination seeking out the one piece of her soul lost among the cosmos.
Now she paused smiling in devotion, "You named me Andromeda for your whispers spoke I was once a white mare. Stubborn at first yet kind on your behalf. I stood beneath the stars and they smiled upon me painting my namesake and destiny. Therefore I shall forever travel till the day you find me. Till the day the stars shine bright as our happiness collides. That is why I will travel to the ends of the world simply for you".

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: Malikztiah Ankhwave. Who are you entering with? Heka-miel Link to the RP you're using: NA Prompt response: His father liked to say the Stars had blessed him and Mother with their baskets, and if he felt lost then he should look to the stars again to find his way. Heka wasn't entirely certain about that, but he supposed he would give anything a shot now. He'd been feeling lost lately, not himself- or rather, he didn't know who he, himself, was meant to be. His mother's "magic dust" was no help there, he knew the dust was little more than a confidence boost, a tool to make one believe in themself. But since he had no 'self' to follow, it would do him no good. So, the stars it was. "If you truly are behind my creation, then I would ask that you show me a sign. Give me a path to follow, or a hint, to tell me that I'll find something of me out here. Somewhere." He felt like a foal for speaking it out loud, but at the same time, the pressure weighing down his shoulders eased. Maybe there was something to his father's talk of stars, after all?

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: Summer Raaven Who are you entering with? Rainbow Sherbert Link to the RP you're using: n/a Prompt response:
Adventure was her middle name.
In a reality full of pain and confusion, the mare's imaginary world was one that rivaled those in storybooks. Knights, princesses, dragons magic....her life was rich in that of make-believe fairy-tales. A long, long time ago, her mind had warped itself into believing what she thought she saw was real, protecting her from what truly was, and it had been that way ever since.
Adventure was the bright light in a hazy fog.
Without the made-up stories -- without the promise of a grand adventure, Rainbow Sherbert was sure she'd be nothing. She was a knight, destined to save those who needed it, destined to be the hero to end all heroes. She'd spend days pretending to fight evil, screaming war cries at the top of her lungs and charging at things that were not there. She'd spend weeks searching for the lost treasure of some made-up kingdom, stabbing at monsters with her sword, when in reality it was a few trees and a sturdy stick. Her mind began to believe she things she saw, if only as a way to hide from the pain that was her life, and it was grand. She never seemed to care that others looked at her as though she was insane -- in her fictitious storybook adventure, they admired her for her bravery -- in her new world, nothing could hurt her.
It wasn't until Tiramisu, her younger sister, was born, that Bertie had to cross the line between what was real and what was fake. She knew, deep down within her soul that if she kept up the act of knights and princesses, Tira would suffer, having no real protection. So she dropped the act when life depended on it, when it really, truly mattered, just to save her sister. In that case, she supposed, she was a real hero, but she never felt like one. She couldn't honestly save her sister -- she couldn't steal her away and give her a life beyond imagination, she ultimately failed. She did what she could only so far, and that was it. There were no knights, no princesses, no epic story to behold. Just an evil mother, and a lost sister. And she was just 1 mare -- one simple-minded, silly mare.
Adventure was the thing that brought her closure.
Years passed, and she was still pretending. The world had given her love, beyond love, and she was forever thankful for that. If it hadn't been for her passion for stories, she wasn't sure she'd have ever met Ushin. He understood her in a way she never thought possible, and together they lived an adventure grand enough to be told for centuries. Grand enough to forget the past.

There are billions and billions of stars!Username: magnadearel Who are you entering with? Meredith Link to the RP you're using: Prompt response: Meredith traveled along the sand dunes on her routine patrol of her territory. She protected the sand dunes and ocean from those who would knowingly or unwittingly destroy or harm them. The pale mare lifted her head to gaze at the night sky. The pattern of clouds over the stars told her a storm was brewing. She knew from past experience that when a bad storm blew and the waves crashed high, that lost things would wind up on the beaches. Sometimes it was animals of the ocean stranded on the beach, and she did her best to help them return to the ocean; other times it was creatures of the land that shouldn't have been at sea. Those she helped too and sent on their way. Her tail waved slightly as she regarded the sky a moment longer. Meredith wondered what would be washing ashore this time.
