Zigoga stood on the edge of the Stormborn lands, his tail twitching back and forth in the breeze. He had heard many things about this pride, both good and bad, but one word that always went hand in hand was strength. They were powerful, imposing lions who plundered the rogue lands and all that got in their way. All his life, Zigoga had very strong self-preservation instincts and as such, he knew exactly where he needed to be. Not for glory or for fame or riches, but for protection. The only thing that stood between him and safety was proving himself. This was the hard part. Zigoga had been raised among the Sith, powerful and cruel in their own right, so he certainly knew how to defend himself. But up until the sudden disbanding of the Jedi, he'd been living peacefully and safely with those who used the Force for good rather than evil. His skills were rusty, to say the least. Still, he let out a roar to summon someone to answer his challenge. He just hoped he'd be up to the task.

The once fearless Shied Maiden received the challenger with a roar of her own, dark eyes narrowing on the stranger's figure as she approached the battle field, claws reared and ready. She had been home for a few weeks now, and though she was still emotionally weak... she felt a need to uphold her rank and would accept this duel even if her health wasn't willing. Her pride would be her weakness.
It was in her blood, after all. The demi-god stood firm as her eyes traced the others' steps, speaking in a voice that was both firm and forward.
"I, Awilix, answer your call. Fight without restraint."
The lean lioness stood still as she awaited his first move.

The lioness that answered his challenge was huge. She was easily his size if a bit leaner and didn't have the mane for extra volume, but Zigoga had to sigh under his breath as she approached him. Figures...he was hoping for an easy battle. It didn't seem that was going to be the case, and as much as he disliked inflicting pain on others, she seemed ready for the challenge and he knew he'd have to do his very best to be allowed entrance. If he didn't succeed now, he probably wouldn't try again. As she gave her name Zigoga bobbed his head in recognition, his eyes lingering on hers for a moment. A little shiver ran down his spine before stepping forward to address her. "I'm Zigoga. I hope I'll impress you enough to be allowed admittance." And with that, Zigoga changed. Having grown up in a pride where might was right, he had been trained just as all the little Siths had to be strong, dangerous, and relentless. It wasn't something he liked to do but it seemed to be required here, so he let his emotions take a back seat as the instincts that had been beaten into him at a young age took control. He descended upon Awilix with tooth and claw, tearing at whatever he could reach.

At the male's introduction she bowed her head in respect before readying herself for battle. The lioness lowered her body to the ground as she awaited his first move, snarling as he came lashing forward with tooth and nail. He had grabbed her shoulder with enough force to turn her, this caused her to wince as claws dug deep into her soft flesh.
Awilix gave him a kick with her back paw as she clawed at his face long enough to push him off. She needed to create distance again, and fast.
"You have some strength in you, Zigoga." her words were a complement, firm and straight forward.
"But I will beat you into the ground if you falter." as the seer spoke she lifted a large clawed paw, ready to swing.

Zigoga was pleased to find he had made some sort of connection with Awilix, his claws pulling her with him as he moved. A light kick to his back end distracted him enough that claws raked over his cheek, drawing a snarl of pain from the male as he backed up as well. A bit of blood dripped down his dark pelt, but he only rested a moment before descending upon the large lioness once more. He knew she would beat him into the ground and he had no desire to experience that much pain, so he had to ignore the burning on his face to continue. This time he pounced. Normally lionesses were smaller than him, but Awilix seemed to be just about his equal in weight and height. Still, as he connected with her, he shifted to try to drag her to the ground using the momentum given to him by the pounce.
