Reithi had wanted to be a Reaver since she was young - unfortunately, the chance to prove her worth had passed her by. The women in the pride could no longer become Reavers, but she could prove herself in other ways.
The lioness would become a shield maiden, however, and protect the borders with her sisters. One day, she hoped to become a Valkyrie and prove her strength to her beautiful mate. If she could not be a Reaver, she would still do her best to protect her mate - her wife in all but the eyes of the law.
She paced the border, looking for a fight.

It was time for another go at dueling his way into the pride. After the last attempt failed, Ignis had retreated to lick his wounds, but he was nothing if not tenacious, and he soon found himself heading right back. Perhaps this time he would manage a win. He hoped, anyway.
Ignis was at least happy that the weather wasn't taking a turn for the worst this time. Just a normal cloudy day.
With a huff, he heaved himself up onto a boulder and then, taking a moment to look around, let out a challenging roar. He had a feeling it wouldn't take long to find a challenger. Already, he could see a black shape moving nearby.
Seaki I'm going to go ahead and roll for Ignis now. <3

Reithi's eyes fell upon the pale grey male. He let out a roar, and she puffed out her chest at the challenge. This was her chance. She ached to prove herself to the pride and her wife, so she would accept any challenge that came her way.
She approached him, eyes narrowed and watching his every move. She would, however, graciously let him begin their duel. It would be easier for her to counter him, after all. She was large, the child of a God. She would definitely be able to overcome him.
"Prove your worth," She said, aloud. Though, if she was honest, she was mostly speaking to herself.

He watched as the lioness approached, this time a little more wary as the last female he'd fought had soundly defeated him, but also confident that he was more experienced than before. With a nod, and no other further ado, Ignis leapt off of the rock and then bounded the few paces closer until he could pounce.
It was more of a collision, really. She was larger than him, that was for sure, and it felt a bit like running into a wall, but that was okay so long as he could get a good hold of her. Although, it would make pinning her down a challenge....
No matter. He just had to focus on winning.
Twisting himself up, he aimed a paw at her head in the hopes of winding her.

Now that the male was practically on her, she could realize their actual difference in size. It would be easy to just pin him down and take her victory that way, but she didn't.
Not yet at least.
She did shove him though, pushing him away from her and the blow to her head. It didn't daze her much, but a face blow was something she wasn't expecting. She hadn't fought like this in a while, and never to defend the borders. She hadn't really wrestled since cubhood. This couldn't be much different. She swiped at her opponent after she shoved him, hoping to knock him at least off balance enough to make him fall.

Ignis grunted as she aimed a swipe at him, but he wasn't quite fast enough to get away. He stumbled back a few steps before trying to scramble back to his footing.
He wasn't ready to go down that quickly. They had only just begun! It'd just be humiliating at this point if he gave in too quickly, and besides, he wanted to show that he'd learned something from his previous attempt.
Although he was still off balance, the male pushed himself forward again to try and headbutt her in the stomach. Two could play the off-balance game! Unfortunately, it did leave him a bit sideways but he hoped to gain an upper hand regardless.

Reithi stumbled under the force of the headbutt, nearly tripping over her own paws. She had to scramble to regain her footing. She was surprised by the move. No one had ever headbutted her before!
Annoyed, swiped at him again, aiming to make him bleed this time, at least a little bit.
If this went on any longer, she would have to pin him and force him to surrender. They were pretty evenly matched in terms of fighting prowess, but Reithi was probably just a little bit better. She would have to take him down before he could prove that that he was better, even if it was by luck.

While his plan had worked, he hadn't quite accounted for her retaliation, let alone the desire to actually draw blood, though he probably should have.
Ignis let out a yelp as her swipe met it's mark. The wound she left was more of a bleeding scratch, but it was enough to make him stumble back again. His only thought was to put a little bit more distance between them so he could gather his wits once more and continue his onslaught.
What he didn't realize though was that this left a window for her to pounce on him, if she so chose.

And pounce she did. The large lioness lunged forward, pinning the smaller male beneath her. "Give up," She growled. Today was not his day, and if he gave in she could declare herself the winner. She would be the one step closer to becoming a Shield Maiden, and that pleased her.
She wouldn't lose focus until he surrendered though. He could try again later, and if he did manage to retaliate again, she might not be able to keep him down again.
She didn't think he would, but still she kept the pressure until he admitted defeat.

He grunted as he hit the floor, and for all his struggles, it was clear that she wasn’t going to let up until he surrendered. Ignis squirmed for another minute or so before finally sighing. There was just no winning this one. He needed to rethink his approach to this.
“I yield.” It was mumbled out, frustration clear in his voice, but he knew when he was beat.
He gave himself a shake as he stood back up, a grimace on his face. With one last nod at the lioness, he turned and fled away from the border.
He would just have to try again another day.
