As the ocean brightened an ebony mer appeared swimming through the underwater currents. Her laughter resonated with tiny bubbles making her swirl around in a circle. Every day was a wonder for her as turtles, fish swam alongside with a perfect choreographed routine. Life was an eternal bliss just leading you to fun things and endless possibilities. Using her tail she propelled through the water until her head poked outward breaking the surface. Taking in a breath she exhaled perking her ears to the call of the gulls. Aijuine hadn't been this far out from the normal water she swam around. The last dance with the larger turtles must of lead her off course. Still, for the moment she took time to breathe in the air filled with the salt of the ocean. Closing her eyes as her tail kept her in a place she listened to these surroundings leaving no oddity unchecked.
Something caught her attention, or rather someone.
Ears swiveled curiously followed her front legs that moved closer to her body Using her tall she pushed herself toward the strange scent. There could be many predators here which left her on guard. Still following the disturbance she sunk lower till only her forehead and muzzle were touched upon by the sun. Continuing to follow her instincts she swam up against a rock peering around the side. Much to her surprise, she saw someone, poking above the water. While danger was a prospective idea she pushed the notion against the waves. Pushing herself out into the open she smiled in spite of herself. Quickly, she popped her head higher letting her head fully emerge up to her chest. Gray orbs of curiosity glistened as they mimicked the pearls that wrapped her neck. Sunlight chimed in with its own brilliance upon the horns that grew upward like a crown. Closer she moved till this strange creature was identified.
Another mer!
Happily, she swam toward him, the largest smile on her muzzle,
"Hello. Can you please tell me where we are"?Very awkward but she wasn't concerned. If they lived in these parts perhaps they knew how she could return home. Well, she hoped they'd be openly helpful.
