Guild Owner: Hello again, everyone. I have another Game to talk about... This Game is possibly the Fastest Way Possible to Win on National Television.
For a Single Minute of Heart Pounding, the audience could look at the top and ponder if the player can make it to the very top where the Player & his or her teammate are 6 questions away from the Grand Prize as its impossible to look away from it.
But its a long story, care to hear about it?

Sure. Sirpa, care to sit next to me, so we can wonder what that sound on the Narrator's Computer is? Aedel said to Sirpa.

The girls was confused about why they were even there. They had a feeling it was just another thing that they would totally fail in.

Guild Owner: Okay. This game puts a spin on the Question & Answer Format which had the Highest Payout for its time & had players paired up in Teams of 2. That game is a favorite in the 1970s as its none other than Pyramid!
This is going to be a MASSIVE one as it has a Huge History behind it.

How many versions of Pyramid are there? Aedel asked to Sirpa.

Guild Owner: Well, there's 10 Different Versions of Pyramid...
$10K,
$25K,
$20K,
New $25K,
Junior,
Junior All-Star,
Junior Partner,
$50K,
$100K
and 2002.
But no matter which version is used throughout the 9 Classic Versions, the Rules and Gameplay are the same.

= $10K Pyramid
Guild Owner: Pyramid began life as the $10K Pyramid on March 1973. Bob Clayton was the announcer while Richard Clark was the Residing Host who go on to host Rockin' New Years Eve later.
The main game is played at the Teams Podiums, the host would announce 6 Subjects for the Teams to choose from.
Here's an example...
= Foods & Drinks
= What are you doing
= Weather or Not
= A Year for all Seasons
= Caravans Forward
= Elements
The game is played with 2 teams of 2 people. After a subject is chosen, one player would need to get the other player to say the 7 Words that fit that Subject.
Aedel, care to try it?

Winter

Sure... Aedel said to the Narrator then gave clues to Sirpa
Okay, its cold outside...
It snows...
a wonderland of ice...
animals hibernate during this time...
You go skating...
You build snowmen...
you shovel snowflakes...
Aedel asked to Sirpa.

Guild Owner: Yeah. Now you're catching on.
The 2 Teams went back and forth like this until 6 Subjects are used, the tean with the most points went onto the Winners Circle. With the Highest Score Possible being 21-21.

= Bonuses
Guild Owner: There are Special Bonuses which did different things.
The 1970s had Big 7 & Big Money,
the 1980s had Mystery 7 & 7-11,
while the 1990s had Double Trouble & Grand/Trip Bonus.
Depending on which Bonuses are used.

= 1970 Bonuses
Guild Owner: If a Team uncovers a Big 7, then the Team would earn a Cash Bonus or Prize Should they get All 7 Correct Answers. 3 of these would Equal to a Complete Big 7 Bonus meaning a "Perfect 21" while 1-2 of these would equal to a "Flawless 7-14".
The Big Money Bonus, however, would earn a Team a Flawless Bonus should they get All 7 Answers right.

= 1980 Bonuses
Guild Owner: The Common Bonuses used in the 1980s were the Mystery 7 & 7-11.
If a Team uncovers a Mystery 7, then the Host would NOT reveal what the Words have in common until AFTER the Team's Turn, which made that Team's Turn a bit Harder. The Payout is a Bonus Prize for getting All 7 Right.
The 7-11 Bonus on the other hand, added a Cash Bonus for getting All 7 or a Smaller Bonus for each correct answer.

= 1990 Bonuses
Guild Owner: Double Trouble Bonus has 2 Words for each answer & the Teams had to Guess BOTH of them to Score a point. Getting all 7 would award a Bonus Prize.
Grand/Trip Bonus was a bit tougher, in which a Team who got all 7 Answers correct would obtain a Bonus Prize.

Drenden asked a question What happens if there's a Tie Score in the Game? Drenden whispered to Nilima.

Guild Owner: ....

= Tiebreakers
Guild Owner: In the event of a Tie Score, an Emergency Subject Set would be used. This be words that Start with a Letter. There's no Bonus for that but in the event of a 21-21 Tie Score, in which case, a Bonus Prize is awarded.

= Winner's Circle
Guild Owner: The Winning Team advances to this Endgame where the gameplay is similar to the Base Game but with a minor change.
The clues are reduced to a list as none of the clue boxes had anything in common, so for the guesser, they could be anything.
The Best Record for the Winner's Circle was Billy Crystal which took him 26 Seconds to do so.
Now one common total for these Clue Boards would equal to...
50, 100, 150, 200, 250 & 300 leading to $1,050 which is NOT even close to the First Pyramid as they are awarded should the Winning Team NOT Clear the Board.
In a fandom sense, where the Big Number will be Counted as a Clue Board, making it 7 instead of 6.

Eldin said to Aulona What are the Payouts like for each version?

Guild Owner: ....

= Final Clue Payouts
Guild Owner: There's other Payouts should the players clear or not clear the board. Now you see that final Clue Number above that says $100,000?

Guild Owner: Don't be Deceived by that as its False by 75% & here's why...
In the $10K Pyramid, the First Time a Team is crowned Champion, they play for that total. But in $20K Pyramid and those that followed it, the Winner's Circle Payout Changed....

Guild Owner: In the $20K Pyramid, the First Trip was worth $10K & the Second Trip was also worth $10K to Equal to the Total Value.
So in both $25K & New $25K Pyramid, if the First trip is worth $10K then the Second Trip is worth $15K to add to a total of $25,000.
In a Fandom Sense, if this was present in $50K Pyramid, then Trip 1 would be worth $10K, Trip 2 being worth $15K Equaling to $25K & Trip 3 would be worth $25K to add to a Grand Total for $50K.
For a $100K Pyramid Fandom Sense, then Trip 1 would be worth $10K, Trip 2 being worth $15K Equaling to $25K, Trip 3 would be worth $25K equaling to $50K & Trip 4 would be worth $50K equaling to a Grand Total of $100K.
In the actual show, they added a Tournament System to both $50K & $100K Pyramids. Where the 4 Best Teams would be invited back.
The Tournament mode is played the same way as the Base Game with only One Bonus being the 21-21 Tiebreaker & there was no Lower Amount in the Winner's Circle as the Team who reached the top got the Jackpot directly which gave CBS & ABC a boost in their Ratings.

Guild Owner: ....

= Changes & 10K Pyramid Decline and Rebirth
Guild Owner: When the $10K Pyramid began there was going to be 10 Clues in the Winners Circle like this...
*
**
***
****
Guild Owner: As you can see if CBS went though with this, Billy Crystal would not be able to blaze through it but thankfully, the executives at CBS caught on and did something about it by placing a piece of Plywood on the Bottom, nailing it then painting it and that's how it went to air.
When the 10K Pyramid aired on CBS, it did pretty well during 1973, but when the Ratings started to fall, CBS Canceled it in 1974. That same year, ABC took a shot at $10K Pyramid which became a Huge Success...

= Classic $25K Pyramid Rise & Fall Part 1
Guild Owner: On September 1974, ABC created a Nighttime Edition called the $25K Pyramid which became an Overnight Success.

= Classic $20K Pyramid Rise & Fall
Guild Owner: Due to the $25K Pyramid's Success, ABC upped the Ante by making another Daytime Version of Pyramid called the $20K Pyramid in 1976 but due to a decline in Ratings, it finished airing in June 1980

= Junior Pyramid Rise & Fall
Guild Owner: In 1979, 3 Children's Versions of Pyramid were created called the Junior Pyramid Trilogy which consisted of Junior Pyramid, Junior All-Star Pyramid & Junior Partner Pyramid. Sadly, it lasted for 6 Weeks until 1980.

= $50K Pyramid Rise & Fall
Guild Owner: From January 1980 to September 1980, the $50K Pyramid aired on Nighttime Television. This lasted for 9 Months and this was the First Appearance of the Tournament Games.

= New $25K & $100K Pyramid Rise & Fall
Guild Owner: In September 1982, CBS brought back the $25 Pyramid as The New $25K Pyramid with Richard Clark as the Residing Host. The "New" Tagline was added to avoid confusion until 1985.
This success lead to the $100K Pyramid which was another Nighttime Version on that same year which became an Overnight Success again.
However, all ratings decline as always...
$10K Pyramid concluded in 1976,
$25K Pyramid concluded in 1979,
$50K Pyramid concluded in 1981,
Both New $25K Pyramid & $100K Pyramid concluded in 1988.

= $100K Pyramid Rise & Fall
Narrator: In 1991, the $100K Pyramid returned to Television with John Davidson as the Residing Host but it ended in 1992 which was a year later.

= Pyramid 2002 Rise & Fall
Narrator: Then in 2002, a Modern Version of Pyramid came out and it lasted until 2004. As there's 6 Words instead of 7. Leading to at least 18 Points as a Minimum to win.
But the gameplay was Overclocked and Overhauled.

Ariane, what does he mean by that? Dranor asked his sweetheart.
