KaraAsumie — 08/31/2023 7:12 PMAkira was telling Kiyomi a story about a princess trapped in a snowy cage. It was a story his mother had once told him when he was young and it was interesting enough to stay with him. "The snowy cage couldn't be opened by all that tried. Family of the princess tried and failed. Those interested in being with the princess tried and failed. It seemed like no one would ever be able to open the cage and free the princess from her cage. Could love save her? It didn't seem like it. Maybe family love and the love of friends had no effect. Maybe true love could save the princess?? With that in mind her family sent word out to all the land in order to find her true love." You see Akira wasn't sure he was telling the story in a way that Kiyomi would enjoy it. But he loved having her close to him. So even if she is just faking to listen to him it doesn't matter.
Clearing his throat as he continues the story. "But the princess was already in love with someone. Although even that stallion couldn't unlock the cage and get it to open. The two were madly in love. Something had to be wrong. How could the cage not open? No one could deny that the two were truly in love. So why didn't the cage open? Was there someone else that was her true love that wasn't him?" Watching Kiyomi to see if she is enjoying the story that he is telling to her or if she looks like she is bored before he picks up again.

Natelie — 08/31/2023 10:43 PMKiyomi was intently listening while laying on the cool grass beside Akira. She had always had a fondness for stories since she was a filly but when he told them, she would put all her focus on him. He seemed to know just how to get her interest. She also loved his voice, the way he spoke and carried himself. The story was intriguing, following along as she thought of an answer. "Maybe. You could be in love but not be true love. Or someone didn't find the right key." She made a shift of her weight from laying almost fully on her side to laying upright. "Oh! What if it wasn't love at all. The poor princess was fated to be freed by a villian. Someone jealous of her. Angry at her and wanting revenge." This was one of those moments Akira could tell the mare was really into the ideas or stories. Usually she wouldn't speak louder then a tone above a whisper. While her features had lit up, she continued "maybe it is fate that a far off king finds her but not for a mate." She clawed at the ground with her paws while waiting for a solution

KaraAsumie — 08/31/2023 10:48 PMSmiling in contentment with her thoughts on the story so far. "Maybe but you will have to wait and find out." Snickering as he continues on with the tell. "So after looking for another that might be the princess's true love but finding no one. The king then had a witch come in and cast a spell to find out the true love of the princess. It was her lover. So how had the cage not been able to open for him? The witch tried to cast a spell to see what the cage needed to open. But the spell failed. Thinking about it a bit. The lover of the princess brought up that maybe it wasn't a love and maybe who could open the cage was the princess's enemy or rival of some sort." This was the part of the story that made it so interesting to him. Most stories of this nature always had it being a lover of some kind.
Not this story. The lover of the princess was right on his guess. But how would that change things? Would the princess change who she loved or would nothing change? This is what Kiyomi would have to wait and find out until he got to that part. Judging her react he then continues. "So the king and queen found those that hated the princess. Even they couldn't open the cage to set her free. The only reason they tried was for the reward that was offered. Then a prince from another land comes up and is an enemy of the princess. They have been enemies since childhood and hated each other. Never on the same page. But he came up looking at the cage. Asked the princess why he should even try to help her out of there. The prince stood there and waited on an answer."

Natelie — 08/31/2023 11:01 PMKiyomi squirmed in place. Some parts she had right and that made her want to find out the ending even more. While he continued she debated quietly how two royalty would despise each other. As far as she knew, no one had ever hated Kiyomi to be an enemy. "Do you have enemies Akira?" She asked curiously, still having only some understanding of his past before they had met. His mother was so sweet, something that he took after as well, so how could he? "Okay. Even if this prince did hate her, would he hate her enough to make her suffer in that cage forever? Surely he had someone he loved.. and could see the struggle."

KaraAsumie — 08/31/2023 11:07 PMThinking about her question he shakes his head. "I don't think I have any. As for the story well you will have to find out." With that Akira takes a deep breath in as he slowly releases it to continue the tell. "The princess looks at the prince before her. Sighing she tells him that she knows that their hatred is deep and he has every right to keep her locked away even if he had the power to free her. But no one would ever know if he even had the power to do so if he didn't at least try it. This made the prince think. He then tried and the cage pops open."
Akira smiles a bit. "The prince and princess were both shocked. But all that happens was that he bowed to her and left. Shocked that love wasn't the trigger the kingdom tried to look into it and when they finally found the reason for it being hatred to open the cage the kingdom understood." Another deep breath. "The reason was because hatred was something that once seeded deep then it was hard to release and in order to open the cage one needed to release their hatred of the one inside the cage." That was it for that part of the story. The prince released his hatred towards the princess which released her from the cage. "Now do you want to know why the two hated each other?"

Natelie — 08/31/2023 11:20 PMNods her head to his statement. It made sense then that he hadn't. While she couldn't understand hatred that deep, she practically held her breath while Akira continued. "That would be a big problem if it still hadn't worked." She let out that long held in breath when she spoke, peering around briefly then back at him. They had been out there so long the sun was changing the sky colors as it neared sunset. She leaned over to nuzzle against the side of his neck "Oh yes, please explain." She replied with a content smile. "Oh wait" she quickly added before he could do more then breathe as an answer. With the sun starting its decent, a temperature drop in the air made her huddle in closer to him. Her tail wagged but did nothing for comfort or warmth like his did. "Can I please borrow your tail?" She asked with a cute bat of her eyes. "It is getting much cooler now." While he was distracted with the tail question, she snuck her closest paw over to lay atop his. "Please do continue now"
WC:186 KaraAsumie — Yesterday at 9:37 AMHe wraps his tail around her so she can borrow it to get warmer. "Always my dear." Smiling as he hears her ask him to continue. "So the back story of the Prince and Princess is that they are half siblings. The Prince is older by a few years. His mother left because she was no longer in love with his father. Meeting the King who fathers the Princess a year after leaving. At first the Prince was happy to hear that he would be a big brother. But sadly during birth his mother died but his sister lived. He began to blame his sister for the loss of his mother. It was the Princess's lover that put her in the cage knowing what it would take to break the spell. Wanting the siblings to let go of the past and move forward. His plan worked in the end and no one knows what he would have done if it didn't. But he was friends with the Prince and loved the Princess. So maybe he knew something they didn't."

Natelie — Today at 1:01 AMShe smiled at him, far more cozy and warm with his thick bushy tail as a blanket. Her eyes widened briefly to the revelation of the two being siblings and as it progressed she could understand the resentment. She had traveled with someone who wasn't her parents and thus didn't remember them fondly enough to feel an attachment. His mother, Wisp, however made her believe she could understand that kind of love. She doted on Kiyomi like any daughter she had. "Aw how sad." She commented about the mother's death and ultimately their trail so to speak to fix their relationship. "I.. I feel a little confused it had been her lover. Was there not any other way to help them? Putting her in a cage sounds like a punishment she didn't have to endure just to become friends with the prince. Did he not just talk to him?" She mulled it over and shrugged. It would give her much to think about. "I liked that one! Very interesting and in the end, everything was resolved." She nuzzled against him one more time. "We should get going, or else your mother will worry I kept you late again." Getting up, she playfully wagged her deerlike tail and softly bapped him with a paw like a puppy in play before taking off with him close behind her. A light sound of laughter emitted mid run from her which got Akira laughing as well while chasing each other home.
