It had been a long month full of heatwaves across the soquili lands. Even the snowy area of the mountains were feeling the slight warmness. Most of the herds had been taking to swimming in rivers or at the oceans. But a certain pair of soquilis didn't seem to want to partake in the swimming today. The little silver tabby marked usdia had wanted to explore. Her latest victim of her cuteness? Yugure, the kitsune shifter. "Selene! I wanted to go cool off in the spring! Come on... Why today? It is hot!"
Selene just tilted her head ever so cutely at him. "Yugureeeee! I have been swimming every day.. I know all of the little fishes and the mers.. I want new things! You told me that you wanted to show me some new places. Why not today?!" Yugure hung his head in shame, knowing he can't resist the little usdia. "Damn it, Selene.. You just had to use that on me!" He used one of his many tails to facepalm. "Ok.. Okay.. I did tell you that. But I wasn't expecting it to be today!"
Selene stomps her hoof as she pouted, looking right at him. "Isn't the best days to be spur of the moments?! I just decided to explore!" Yugure groaned as he knew that she was right. He hated when the little tabby was right. "Alright... Well.. I wanted to take you to the gardens. There are some new things there. I know you like new stuff." Selene quickly beamed at him. "You know darn well I do!"
Yugure rolled his eyes. ".... You owe me for this.." He muttered under his breath. "What was that?" Selene tilted her head at him. Yugure flashed one of his toothy smiles at her. "Oh, nothing! Lets go! It is this way." He moved to one of the worn down trails, leading her. What he didn't know is that he was leading her to the hidden garden.. one that.. shouldn't be seen as of yet.
Selene was watching his tails as she followed him, giggling while trying to paw at them. "All of the fluffs! Do they keep you warm?" Yugure. "They do during cold nights but they make me sweat during heatwaves. Be grateful that you do not have these tails." Selene sighed, not liking that she didn't have a tail like him. "Meh.. I sometimes wish I did. My baby sister, Eclipse have paws instead of hooves but no cat tail." Yugure's ears perked up. "Oh, that is right! You have a baby sister now. How is she adjusting to the lands here?" Selene growls as if she was annoyed. "She.... is adjusting by being a brat.. " The fox shifter laughs. "Finally someone is testing youcuteness out, eh? Is she a bigger brat than you?" He turned right at the fork of the trail. Selene hopped to keep up with him. "Me? Brat? You must be confused. I am an innocent little tabby! She is the bratty girl who has mommy issues."
".... And you don't have daddy issues? Look how you use your cuteness and innocence to get what you want.. " said the fox shifter. Selene jumped on one of his tails which caused him to yelp loudly. "Selene! You don't do that!" Selene grinned "Oh.. I was just following my innocence.." Yugure blinked at the smart a** comment before laughing. "Oh, dear goddess.. You are something else. Anyway.." He looked towards the garden, noticing the difference but paid no mind. "Come on, Selene!" He used one of his tails to open the gate for her. The tabby usdia skipped into the garden, stopping at the scents.
"..... Yugure.. What are those smells?" She looked over to him. "They smell good but wierd." Yugure sniffed the air, which made him realize that it was not the garden they should be in... at all. "Uh... Selene.. I don't think we are at the right garden." Selene glanced at him, tilting her head once again. "The.. right garden?" She looked at the garden. "That don't matter! Come on! I want to know what are the scents!" She moved to try to pull one of his tails. Yugure sighed. "... Okay.. I don't think we can be here for long... " He slowly moved further in the garden, glancing at everything.around him.
There were little mice running around tending to various part of the garden. One were putting something that looked like aging fruits in a bowl. Selene perked up at this, making her way to one of the bowls, seeing wierd liquids. "Yugure! Over here!" Yugure widened his eyes when he noticed where Selene was. ".. Oh, no.. Selene.. No!" Selene was already taking several gulps of the liquids. Yugure groaned. "Snowy is gonna kill me... " He hurries to get to her. "Selene?"
She looked up at him, hiccuping a bit. ".. Yea? This tastes like the hay that the humans give out! But in a wi.. wierd taste! I like it, I think." Selene prods the kitsune shifter to take a drink. "Come on!" Yugure shook his head. "I don't think so.. I am not thirsty. Thank you though." Selene was slightly woozy, almost tripping over her own feet. Yugure thinks to himself. "Oh, damn it.. She is a lightweight. This won't be good..If we can stay away from the herbs.. I think we are gonna be okay."
Selene leans against him. "Kitsune! You look cute!" Yugure smiled at her. "Thank you, Selene. Come on.. Lets get out of here." Selene slowly started to follow.. or trying to follow. She was seeing 'several' of the fox shifter. She thought she was following the 'right one'.After several feet on the trail, the kitsune shifter noticed the usdia wasn't following him. "Oh, ********.." He turned to look for her. "Selene! Where are you?!" He moved to another trail, getting her scent. "No.. Not that area.. Please tell me that she isn't heading to that area.." Yugure finally sees her right by the herbs. "Goddesss, give me strength."
Meanwhile, Selene hiccusps, almost falling onto a tray of what looks like some wierd herbs. She widened her eyes and sniffs at them. "Holy!! They smell better than grass!" She was about to take a bite when she hears Yugure yelling. "What?! I am about to eat this sweet treat I found!" Yugure was finally able to get close enough to her. "Selene.. No! Don't eat that!"
Selene rolled her eyes. "It wouldn't be on a tray if it wasn't meant to be eaten!" Yugure groaned. "... That is because they are being dried or fermented into a herb. I just can't say the name... yet." Selene glanced at him. "You are kidding me.. right?" One of the mice appears onto the tray. "He is right.. but we do have some that are ready." Yugure gae a look to the mouse but sighed, knowing Selene won't listen. "... Might as well since Snowy will not be happy with me.."
Snowlily's voice ranged out from the herb garden. "It is okay, Yugure! She can have the herb.. Just make sure that she is... SAFE!" Yugure flinched. "Yes, mam!" He cried out before groaning. "She is pissed.." Selene perks up at the sound of one of her adopted moms! "Ms. Snowy?!" No reply was heard. But the mouse motions for the two to go deeper into the herb part of the 'garden'. Another mouse jumps onto another tray. "This is one that may remind you of sweet hard candy that humans eat" Selene looked at Yugure who nodded at her. She didn't waste another moment and Took a huge bite of the 'herb'.
Several minutes later, the normally perky usdia was yawning. "This is really good! Should I get another bite?" She said in mid yawn. Yugure didn't take a bite but was able to get a pouch of it for later. "I don't think so. Come on.. We can get some snacks for the way home.. " Selene barely nodded as she slowly tried to walk over to him. That is when she fell onto one of his tails.
"Selene?" He looked down at her, seeing that she was passed out. "I guess we are staying here.. " He curled up and just does a snort. "So much for going home."
