For this prompt you'll RNG 1-3 to determine how happy/willing the Cactus Cat is to be around you. This is for the prompt only. Once obtained, it can act however you'd like. You'll write 250 words (more is fine if you want, but the blurb must be finished) about how you find, obtain, receive (etc) the Cactus Cat.
If you roll a 1: The cat is somewhere between in love with you to very much approves of you.
How Mirthal and Kyoya had become traveling companions for a time was beyond them, yet here they were.
Kyoya tossed his mane from his face and looked around for a moment and saw something green in the sand. "How had we wound up here again?" He asked as he started moving towards the thing he had seen.
Mirthal shrugged. "I was following you."
"I thought I was following you though?" He retorted.
It seemed they were both on a fools errand then.
"Did you see that?" He said as they moved closer.
"No, what was it-oh yes! I see it now.... What is that?" She said moving closer, lowering her head to the ground to scent the air as they approached. There were quite a few of them it seemed, a colony of sorts, of these prickly looking cats. "Now that's a sight if you ever did see it." She said with a chuckle.
Kyoya nodded his head in agreement. "Oh, it's coming over."
Two in fact. They were at first, preoccupied playing with a feather, then they saw the two larger beings and ran over to the large equines.
One of them stared up at Kyoya with large eyes and then did a little chirp and began to circle his legs, careful not to poke him with it's spines. "Aww, I think it likes me." He had to admit, they were fairly cute.
The other approached Mirthal and she winced as it rubbed up against her legs, she was afraid it was going to stab her, but the angle in which it moved allowed the spikes to fold along it's body. "Oh that is interesting." She said looking down at it, she wondered if they would stand erect if it was threatened. "I guess we have two more to join our journey huh?"
"I suppose we do. At least when we split ways we won't be lonely." He chuckled.
"That is very true." She said looking down at it once more. "Do you think we should name them?"
"Pokey and Spikey?" He said automatically as a joke. "I mean, we could, they do seem like they should have names, but honestly, I'm not in any rush to decide what that is. IF you want to name yours by all means, be free." He lowered his head to sniff the feline and couldn't help but wonder where these brilliant creatures had come from.
Mirthal gave another look at the cactus cat and nodded. "Minerva." She wasn't sure why she wanted to name it that, but it seemed to respond to the name and gave a little chirp as it sat next to her front legs. "What do you suppose they eat?"
"I would assume they ate whatever other feline species ate, do you think they're vegetarians?" He was curious too at that point. "I suppose we'll find out when they get hungry. Though, I do like the idea of them sleeping next to us as night, what a way to be protected from unwanted strangers."
She laughed, "Indeed."
The two of them headed off with their new found companions.
