A description of the Soquilis as well as Indian personas...Thel's info:
Thel is a rather quiet young stallion who has finally confesed his feeling to Hotaru and plans to stick to it no matter what. Before this he was known to travel long distances with his friend Elan. One can recognise the stallion easily by the elven runes on his legs as well his ability to use the '...' often in his sentence.
Elan's Info:
Elan is probably Thel's best friend and companian. A rather outspoken hawk Elan usually makes up up for Thel's attitude (or lack of it). Danae's info:
Danae is a lively young mare who had recently got seperated from her nomadic herd (due to her curiousity). She is imensely curious about things she's unfamiliar with and has a dream of seeing a legendary wind soquili someday. Her hobbies OOCly includes irritating Rahu.

Thelerian and Catori RP: Taking a few tentative steps forward into this new domain the paint stallion shifted his hoofs uneasily. He had been travelling for days and during the course of his travels he had learnt that when a stranger enters into a new territory it hadn't always meant a warm welcome.
Glancing upwards the stallion gave a small whistle (Possible? razz ) and soon a hawk could be seen flying above him." What's the situation Elan?" the stallion whispered glancing about. " Your eyes see better than mine,"
"All's clear Thelerian," the hawk answered landing nimbly onto the stallion's back. "Nothing to worry about; not a threat in sight,"
"That's a relief,"the stallion replied letting out a satisfied sigh. Then taking in a deep breath the stallion stretched himself and relaxed his muscles. "...Umm...Elan, we still have an unfinished business to settle,"
"Oh, alright," the hawk answered flaring his wings and catching an updrift. "But you're not at an advantage mind you,"
"We'll see," the stallion whinnied. And he was off; racing with Elan across the plains with his mane and tail flowing like water behind him and the runes on his legs glowing slightly as if to portray his mood.
Catori stopped, one scarlet hooved raised in the air in mid-step, tilting her head to one side, her ears swiveling curiously as she heard a whistel. She rose to the top of the incline, her long tail swishing slowy as she saw a stallion raceing a hawk.. She loved races!!
Momentarily forgetting herself, remembering only the races she and her friend Dyami, so close to her in friendship and looks that they could have been siblings, would have. She gave a sharp littel whinny, sounding more like an exsited phillie, and took of like a bat out of hell down the side of the hill, letting gravity carry her tiny fraime, angeling herself to come along side the raceing stallion.
She was small, but fast, her slender legs built for speed and not for strength... She would have shrank back if she had honestly been paying attention, her white, red and green forn completly drawrfed by the stallion... but she was currently to busy staring at the hawk above, her red eyes shineing with childlike merryment, her short mane whipping about her face, now only about two feet to the side, and slightly behind the paint.
The sudden appearance of a mare with unique markings beside him made Thelerian dig his hooves into the ground in suprised. He thought that Elan had said that everything was clear and yet...well...there was a mare as real as life running alongside him a few moments ago; before he dug in his hooves that is...
Noticing that his friend had abruptly stopped running Elan banked sharply to his left and made a small turn to return to Thelerian. "I thought you said that the coast was clear or has your eyes become weaker as of late?" the stallion whispered accusingly at the hawk.
"I thought you said look out for threats not look out for any living things around," Elan retorted. "Surely you don't consider a female as sweet as that a threat? Or have you lost your courage as of late?" the hawk obviously took delight in getting in that last remark and watching the stallion's nostrils flare.
"Well, I'll be seeing ya," the hawk continued taking off and leaving the stallion all alone;with the mare and possible other things that the hawk had ealier deemed 'safe'. " You need to socialise more anyway my friend!"
"Elan...!" Thelerian called out as if in desperation but the hawk did not hear or pretended not to hear that call and flew off.
As the hawk veered off to the side, Catori quickly tried to copy the birds movements.. but being land-bound as she was, and with the forces of gravity tinkering away as they usualy do, she slid slideways, like one who had slid across the lenolium floor in their socks, slidding on the frozen grass untill she skidded into a brush, a burst of crispy leaves erupting from around her, currently only a hoof and the tip of a tail visible.
Both dissapeared.
A head popped out of the bush, scanning the surroundings for the bird, and seeing it near the stallion, whom of untill know she had nearly oblivious, she blushed furiously, her cheeks almost matching her eyes, her head slowly sinking back down into the bush, untill only her eyes and ears poked out from the frost bitten leaves.
She felt completly mortified, why was it that everytime she let go of her composure, someone was there to witness it!
Thelerian stomped his hooves nervously and pretended not to notice the female's situation. Instead he busied himself by observing a ladybug crawl across a leaf as if it were the most interesting thing in his life at the moment.
When he finally deemed it safe to look up Thelerion cast a quick glance towards the female's direction (Just to see if she was alright) before shifting his gaze once again to the ladybug.
Far off in the trees Elan chuckled.
As soon as the stallion looked away, so quickly scrambeled out from the bush, her snowy white fur marred with bits of leaves, several twigs sticking out of her long tail, and a leave currently lodged between her ears.
Swishing her head she removed the twig, and shakeings wiftly she respred a somwhat normal appearance, And by normal we mean not covered in leaves. She looked over her shoulder at her long tail, swishing it, and when the twigs did not dislodge, whipping it back and forth before finnaly giveing up.
Mabey she could pull it off as a new fashion statement.
Turning her hears, then her eyes abck twords the stallion, she crept closer, a shy but sweet smile creaping over her slightly rosey face, transforming her from looking like a young philly to a young mare. ' Um... sorry about that ' she said, still embarrased about bargeing into the race unnanounced. That wasnt something she did... that was something...shaylee did. sweatdrop
" It alright...it was Elan's fault anyway," Thelerian answered glancing briefly at the mare. "My name's Thelerian by the way..,"the stallion added as an afterthought. He hoped that the young mare would soon leave him be. Where he'd come from, young mares usually had strong stallions with them and fighting was something Thelerian wanted to currently avoid.
" Elan? " she asked, a twing of curiosity ringing through her voice. " Oh! Nice to meet you Thelerian, my name is Catori " she said with a smile, her tail swishing slowly, ocasonaly the tap of the tigs ringing out in the night filled only with the hoot of owls and the chirp of insects.
" Are you new here? I have spent alot of time in these particular lowlands and i have never seen you before " she said, her face looking just as sweet as the candy-cane mark on her flank.
"Elan; the hawk you saw earlier...," Thelerian replied glancing briefly to the direction where the hawk had flown off. Then after a brief silence Thelerian coninued. "Nice to meet you too Catori and yes I'm rather new here...thought I would just pass by actually...,"
Deep down inside Thelerian felt like he could kick himself. Here was a nice, friendly equus talking to him and here he was acting like somesort of antisocial creature who loved uncomfortable silences in conversations. In frustration Thelerian stopmed the ground with his foreleg.
" Oooh " she said, fitting the peices together. The bird must be his familiar, just like everyly was to that annoying flutter.
" Oh? Just passing by? Thats a shame, this place is rather wonderfull... its almost heart-wrenching if someone just goes wodering through without even takeing a look at the mountains " she said with a slight shrug -is a horse could shrug - but that was her opinion, and he might not share her view.
He stamped his foot, her scarlet eyes drawn to his forleg, thinking he might have been hurt, mabey pulling a muscle when he skidded so, but the twinckeling runes caught her attention. Her tail gave a rather whip like swish ' Oh! Those are amazeing markings! " she said, doing her best to not actualy crouch down to look at them better.
Though you think some blue markings on another wouldent stun her so, even if they were blue. She was partialy GREEn for crying out loud.
"But...isn't this land occupied already?" Thelerian asked evasively. " I wouldn't want to intrude onto another's territory if you understand me...,"
Then hearing the coments about his odd markings Thelerian blushed slightly and the blue marking's glow seemed to fade as if in attempt to conceal themself . "Thank you...but yours is better; in a nice way of course," Thelerian added hastily afraid that the female might take offence.
"Oh,for Pete's sake...," Elan muttered to himself from the tree branch. "What wrong with that guy?"
" Occupied? You mean if people live here? Of corse, there are horses everwere, but no one " Owns " the land... we move as we see fit, unless we have a teepee... but here? no, its all common ground ' she said with a sweet smile.
She smiled, her cheeks turning rosey " No, all they are are some stripes, and a marking that looks like a two leggers candy.. nothing special " she said, cating an admireing look at the glowing blue markings.
A soft grin flickered across her face. He was cute when he blushed, looked more like a colt just growing into his hooves then a large stallion who had been raveing a hawk.
"No one owns the land? T-that means I c-can stay?"the stallion whispered falteringly as if he couldn't believe his ears. Finally after all his travels he would be able to find a place to call home. Smiling for perhaps the first time since they've met Thelerian nodded. However he still spoke only slightly above a whisper. "Stripes are nice too miss..Catori,"
Far off Elan flared his wings and took off towards Thelerian's direction. Upon reaching the duo the hawk folded his wings and settled comfortably on Thelerian's back. " See Thel. I was right. There are still places where strife regarding lands are almost non-existant; cept' if it involves my hunting territory," Elan added ruffling his feathers and observing the young mare.((Thelerian and Catori's rp))

Thelerian, Hotaru and Catori RP: Hotaru streched her wings as she lifted herself up from the ground with a rather lazy movement. Mornigns were hard on her, she was never used to get up this early, but apparently her owner and fellow soquili with whom she shared her home, prefferd it that way. She got up, snorted and walked slowly outside the tent. She needed to drink some wather, her mouth was so dry that she could hardly open it! She opened her wings and flew higher, so she could see the lake in between the trees. After spotting the icy blue water, she slowly floated down and let her hooves touch on the ground slowly and gracefully.
Thelerian blinked and opened his eyes. Finding shelter under a large tree the painted stallion had passed the night rather well and as the morning's ray seeped through the plains the stallion awoke. His first instinct however, was to be on the move like what he had done ever so often in the past but suddenly he remembered. This was his home now. The mare he had met earlier had told him that this land was not owned by anyone and living things may live peacefully here...
Stretching his muscles the painted then raised his eyes overhead. Spotting his hawk friend Thelerian whinnied to him and very soon the hawk was once again perched onto the stallion's back. "What are your plans Thel? Are we leaving once again?" the hawk asked; preening his feathers as he did so.
"No, Elan...I have....decided to stay...," Thelerian answered as if in great difficulty in his usual quiet tone. Making his way away from the trees Thelerian then turned his gaze once again to his hawk friend. "What do you think Elan? Is it possible for us to find a home here?"
"I've seen worst," was all the stallion had got as a reply. Nodding in agreement with a faint smile the stallion then cautiously made his way towards lake he had spotted yesterday. Though he might not show it in facial expression, the runes on the stallion's legs glowed gently as if they were pleased.
Hotaru lowered her head and watched her pink reflection from the lake a little. It had often occured to her she knew nothing about the image she saw on that mirrory surface.. nothing at all. The reflection had lived with her but it was a total stranger. Then again, it was just a reflection, an illusion. She arched her long neck a little lower and put her mouth inside the cold water and drank some hasty gulps. She pulled back suddenly, hearing a sound nearby. Her ears searched for the source and she turned back to see the hooves which made that sound; for they were hooves for sure. She blinked at the sight of another soquili a little farther from her. She took a step backwards with caution, for she had never been around many other soquili. Her eyes carefully wacthed his steps.
"Thel, just so you know, there's another being similiar to the young mare you saw yesterday except this time this being has wings with a rather pink hue to her body,"Elan said as Thelerian made his way into the lake.
Instantly Thelerian raised his head and looked in the direction indicated by his friend. Seeing the female equus across the lake made Thelerian hastily pull himself out of the water. It just would not do to contaminate( if contaminate was the word) someone else's drinking water. Then making his way hesistantly around the lake Thelerian observed the female equus. "A good day to you miss," Thelerian called out in what he deemed was a friendly tone.
Hotaru blinked and took a forward step to return to her former position when she ehad the friendly tone of the newcomer. "Hi!" she said. She had never been called a 'miss' before, and she quite liked it. This soquili looked like a pleasant one. She took another step towards him "Nice to see you in such a nice weather." Then she smiled "oh I have been rather rude have i not? I am Hotaru, nice to meet you. may i learn your name to?" she then looke daround and saw this new soquili had a companion with him, a winged creture but rather different than herself "and hi to you too!" she looked at the stallion once more, for the glowing runes on his legs attracted her attention. she was rather fond of ancient runes herself... she tilted her head, tying to read what it said.. it looked like a language she knew, but with all the fur on the legs it was hard to read. was it something about a ring? probably not.
"My name's Thelerian miss Hotaru," Thelerian replied nodding. Then, almost subconciously the stallion gave a glance towards the mare's wings. He had always heard tales of flying horses but to see an actual winged one... Realising that perhaps he was staring too long Thelerian sheepishly turned his attention towards the ground. " Oh, his name is Elan by the way," Thelerian continued directing his head to the hawk still perched on his back.
"Nice one Thel. You nearly forgot me,"said Elan as he gave Thelerian a jab with his tallons. Feeling the jab Thelerian jerked backwards slightly. Giving Elan an evil glare (Elan of course chose not to notice) Thelerian then smiled at Hotaru. "Sorry if I disturbed you earlier. I did not know that this was your drinking lake,"
Hotaru walked a little more closer and gave a gracious bow. She was feeling a little more comfortable with making new friends, encourged by Thelerian's warm words "Nice to meet you Thelerian, and please.. Even though miss sounds lovely, do call me Hotaru like everyone else" She smiled and bowed slightly at the hawk "Nice to meet you Elan" Hotaru then nodded "No, no you didnt bother me at all. Instead, you added greatly to my pleasure, it is rare to meet such a kind soquili, which is a treat for me, really." she smiled "and please do go ahead, i dont own the lake you know!" she gave out a soft laughter, hpoing it didnt sound rude as she thought it did after thinking about it.
Thelerian dipped his head a little. "Such words do not fit me mi-I mean Hotaru,"Then glancing once again to her wings Thelerian spoke as if in awe." I see that you were blessed with the ability to fly. ("Like me!"quipped Elan but that was ignored)Just like the legends...,"
Then as an afterthought Thelerian continued." I take it that you live around these parts?"
Hotaru nodded "Well.. I wouldnt call it as being blessed... But i do enjoy flying now and then" she turned her gaze upon Elan "Fancy a flight over the forest sometime?" she smiled friendly and then turned her attention to the stallion again "But not bleesed with such glowing legs and hooves as yourself. I am one of my kind, but it seems to me you are one of a kind" she could not help but smile again. It felt nice, making new friends. "i do live right next to the forest with my owner nephalia. what about you? i have never seen you before i think" she walked around the soquili and his companion, making way for him so he could drink freely from the lake, without feeling bad about disturbing her, which he definitely did not.
"You're on," Elan replied flapping his wings as if he meant to race with Hotaru on the spot. But seeing that somehow this was not going to happen soon the hawk settled himself once more onto Thelerian's back and observed the duo.
"T-there's nothing great about my legs...really," Thelerian reply. And as he said so, the glow around the runes too seemed to lessen and the runes took on a look of blue paint. "But you are certainly unique," Thelerian added somewhat sheepishly.
Upon hearing that Hotaru had an owner Thelerian looked startled. "What is a Nephalia? Is she another winged one?"Thelerian asked turning his head to match Hotaru's movement. Tactfully he evaded the question regarding where he was from. No, that would have to wait till he knew her better...
Hotaru winked at Elan "Maybe some other time, seeing that Thelerian will not be able to join us in this race" She wished Thelerian was a little smaller so she could carry him on her back and fly him over the forest, he seemed interested in being able to fly. But being the sizes they were, it was only possible he carried her, not the opposite. "Wow! You can change the glow on your legs too? Nice!" She was impressed "What do they mean? I can only make out the word 'Ring' but the rest is all blurry and vague to me." She blushed slightly at his comment about her being unique, and her thunder marks on her back glowed with a faint blueish color. She then shook her head playfully at the question "No. no!" and laughed "Nephalia is a human, she looks after me and Zephyr. Zephyr is a soquili just like you, he does not have wings. Not that it prevents him from jumping all over the place." She giggled. He had not told her where he was from, but then again everyone had their own secrets and she knew better than to disturb such a kind soquili with questions that would make him uncomfortable,. so she let it go.
"Well...I do not know what the words mean myself," Thelerian admitted regretfully shaking his head." I was born with those but what they say is still a mystery to me...and (not meaning to be rude) it looks like your symbols can also glow at will,"
"Zephyr?I would be glad to meet him too someday if he is willing," Thelerian smiled but upon hearing that Nephalia was a human Thelerian's ears flattened slightly. "Humans? Aren't they those creatures that terrifies other living beings?"
"That has never stopped Thelerian from racing with me,"Elan sulked before flying off to catch a fish in the nearby lake. "But naturally I'm the winner of course,"
Hotaru was never a master of runes but she understood them quite a little. Nephalia, now she was a master. In order to master her dancing skills, she had studied many ancient writings and thus improved her ancient rune-reading skills "Well if you want to know, I am sure Nephalia will try to translate them for you, she is quite good at that you know.." "I am sure Zephyr will be delighted as well, he has become quite a handful since he became a dad! He is all pompous and.. ahh!: She stuck out her tongue in a playful manner. "Well, humans have bad and good ones just like soquili... Nephalia is not one of those who understood the way of nature and she respects it. Other people, I don't know. You should meet her, maybe she will succeed in making your thoughts change!" Then she turned at Elan "Oh I am sure he beats you with those slender legs!"She blushed again. Making compliements wwas not her usual practice.
"He does not!" Elan replied returning with a caught fish. "At most we're tied,"
"Perhaps...," Thelerian replied not too convinced. He had often grown up hearing tales of humans ill treating not only others but their kindred as well. "S-she won't capture me will she?" Thelerian asked.
Hotaru blinked. Elan ate fish? Now that was somethign new. She thought only humans ate fish. "Oh! You eat fish?" she exclaimed "You are definitely not a soquili!" she winked.
She took a few more steps towards Thelerian and met his gaze and replied in a serious tone "No, she would never do that. Me and Zephyr accepted to be her companion because of the kindness and comfort she offered us. and then she became my friend. she is precious, she would never ever hurt a living being." Then she realized she sounded too serious and took a playful bite and Thelerian's mane "Gotcha"she jumped back and laughed "You have a lovely but a long name. Do you mind if i call you Thel?" she tilted her head rather innocently.
"Of course I'm not!" Elan replied ruffling his feathers. "Who would want to be that size? Besides, fish tastes better than grass"
"Elan!" Thelerian gave a warning hiss and was about to bump the hawk off his back when suddenly Hotaru stepped forward and gave his mane a n**. Stepping back in suprised Thelerian took a few moments to register what was going on before he too replied smilling. "Sure, Thel seems fine to me and...sorry about thinking that your guardian might try to capture me...,"Thelerian replied feeling foolish all of a sudden. Of course Hotaru's human friend wouldn't do that. How else could Thelerian explain how Hotaru could come down to the river to drink so freely. Besides, the winged one had spoken very seriously about her guardian...
Hotaru laughed with joy at Elan, he seemed to be quite the amusing companion! "I am sure you both have a lot of fun together! I wish I had a companion like Elan myself" She bluseh when she saw the stallion smile. It was the first genuine smile he gave her "Ok than Thel, thank you! You can call me.. Whatever you like! But not Razzy, oh not Razzy, I hate that nickname! Zephyr calls me that because he thinks i look like a rspberry! Do i look like one?" she asked in her playful manne again. "And please don't worry about it, I know you mean no bad-will towards nephalia." she was curious about his past, and how he came to distrust humans altogether.
Thelerian nodded relaxed. "I'll remember that Hotaru and no...I do not think you resemble a raspberry at all,"
"Not even the pink part?" Elan asked playfully.
"Elan...you yourself resemble some sort of a red fruit with that colouring of yours...,"Thelerain said testily with a small smirk.
"W-hat? How dare you!"Elan replied apparently flustered by the accusation. "All Haris Hawks has these colourings mind you unlike...unlike...," Here Elan stop talking and sulked. " So are we going to see you human friend or not?" Elan then continued changing the subject.
"Perhaps not now Elan...she might be busy at the moment,"Thelerain replied uncomfortably."Besides I'm sure she is not prepared to meet us. Right miss Hotaru?" Thelerian asked forgetting to skip out the 'miss'.
Hotaru smiled at the duo, they were a fun pair! "Thank you Thel! You should tell that to Zephyr when you see him sometime" and she let out a giggle "Elan, you do look kinda reddish, but in a noble kind of way. Like golden eagles you know, they have blonde feathers but they don't resemble lemons now do they?" Then she wondered if Nephalia was fit to see them or not.. Why not? she was probably in the teepee, cooking some food for the evening "Well, I am sure Nephalia would be delighted to see you and Zephyr, if he is home! I would be honored and happy if you decide to come over!" She had started to enjoy the time she spent with thel more and more and she didn't want it to end. She was prepared to make him all over the village if she knew that would keep him around her a little longer.
"Heh," said Elan puffing out his chest feathers. "Heard that Thelerian?"
"Ummm..yes,yes...of course you looks like a lemon...," Thelerian replied not really hearing what Elan had said. Though Hotaru had mentioned that not all humans were bad, he still felt rather uncomfortable with the idea of actually meeting one...again. A sudden flashback of him running away from the ropes of men happened and Thelerian found himself flinching; stepping back a pace as he did so.
"Thel?" Elan asked noticing the stallion's unease. " You okay there buddy?" Then turning to face Hotaru Elan flapped his wing and nodded. "Sure we'll meet your human friend. She might be able to cure Thel of his fears if luck permits though I have no idea what they are. Right Thel?"
Thelerian nodded and flicked his ears slightly. Then stepping up behind Hotaru he made a gesture that indicated that he would follow Hotaru back to where her companion was.
Hotaru noticed how uncomfortable Thel looked about meeting neplaia, and she thought maybe they would better not visit her, but then... thel should overcome his fears some time, and nephalia may be the best way to do that since she was sweet and would understand how thel felt about humas. so she nooded "i will take you where she is" and then walked in the direction of their teepee "it is close by anyways!" she wondered what made thel so afraid of humans.. a bad experience, possibly... but how could one handle thel so badly to wound him for life?... he was calm and sweet.. that made her draw the conclusion that whoever hurt him must be one of the bad ones. what a pity that he met them before the good ones.
Thelerian followed Hotaru with hesistant steps as if still unsure if he (Elan actually) had made the right decision. Tossing his mane Thelerian then tried to strike up a conversation but no words came out. Numbly the stallion followed the mare his ears flicking more often as the scent of the camp drew near.
Elan sat perched on his friend's back and watched Thelerian with concern. Then trying to lighten the mood Elan asked Hotaru in jest. "I hope she has fish waiting for me there!"
Hotaru walked towards the riverbend, stopping occasionally to check on thel and elan. the teepe was now in plain sight and nephalia singing could be heard. She turned to face Thel "See? that is nephalia. she is a dancer and she likes singing... but to be honset her voice isnt all that good!" she giggled. she walked to the door and pushed her head in. nephalia rose from floor "hotaru? home already? never seen you around this early" she teased "couldnt find a victim to haunt?" nephalia put a gentle hand on her nose. hotaru neighed excitedly and walked otuside the teepee to show nephalia her new friends. "my, my... you never brought company here before! what a delightful surprise!" the human exclaimed and walked towards thel and elan to greet them.
Elan cocked his head over to one side and observed the human approaching them. She looked king enough to the hawk and yet; he could feel Thelerian's body stiffened like one would if one encountered a wolf or some other predator. Deciding not to say anything Elan just observed what would happen next.
Seeing the human approaching, it was all Thelerian could do to keep himself from bolting away. Stomping his hooves nervously the painted stallion snorted and flicked his ears. Around his hooves, the runes glowed faintly...
Nephalia sensed the nervousness of the stallion and she stopped. She made a gracious bow as to welcome them "Nice to meet you. You see, this is the first time Hotaru introduced a couple of her friends to me." Then she pulled her bag, which she kept on her right shoulder at all times and took a rough sugar from one of its pouches "Would you like some candy?" she asked thel and smiled. Hotaru snorted and whispered back at thel "she hasnt offered me one since i was like 4 months old. " and she stuck out her tongue. it was such an interesting scene.. nephalia greeting her guests. she walked around them and stopped right next to thel and smiled "dont worry, i told you she was nice!"
" I would!" Elan piped flapping his wings. Then realising that the sugar was probably not meant for him the hawk once again kept quiet.
Thelerian's nostrils flared slightly at the smell of sugar but he did not make an attempt to taste it. Instead, he back away sharply and would have gone off is Hotaru had not been standing by his side. Feeling trapped Thelerian tossed his head a few more times and whinied nervously. Wasn't sugar the stuff people used to tempt horses into opening their mouth before inserting that horrible cold metal?
Hotaru saw thel needed some encouragement, so to show nephalia meant no harm she wwalked up to her owner and grabbed the suger in her palm. nephalia gave a teaseful look at the pink soquili "now now that is not really nice isit? that want meant for you" she winked "you little naughty soquili!" she patted hotaru on the head, while the soquili chewed on the sugar contently and then nephalia took out another piece and lay it on the floor "here boy, you can take it from there if you dont trsut me yet" she smiled "i know how that feels" then she turned and walked to the teepee "i am cooking some fish soup, i hope you stay over for some food, i have a hunch your hawk friend will like the soup and we always have some nice dried grass for the four-hooved!" she smiled and walked inside the teepee. hotaru looked at thel "well give her a change please thel" she said reassuringly "i know she means no harm for you.. trust me.. please?" she tilted her head innocently.
"Did she say fish?" Elan asked in an excited tone. "Then we're definitely staying!" saying so the hawk flew off Thelerian's back and stood upon a branch near the teepee.
Meanwhlie Thelerian looked after the retreating back of the female in a somewhat confused manner. The female hadn't tried to force him to do anything at all. "She's gone...," Then turning his gaze towards Hotaru Thelerian let out a sigh"...sorry for being a jerk back there...," He had really wanted to be more friendly but...apparently his phobia has not left him entirely yet. Flicking his tail Thelerian then trotted back and forth from the teepee to the woods af if unsure of what he should be doing.
"Stop acting like a foal Thel," Elan called out from the nearby branch.
Hotaru trotted to Thel "You know, we dont have to stay if you dont want to! I am sure neph will understand completely... " she paused for a brief amount of time and continued "but having you is always a pleasure" she blushed "oh.. i didnt mean that.. i meant having you as a guest!" she smiled nervously and trotted around thel; she seemed to have made a habit out of that. then she looked at elan and put her nose on thel's cheek to give him some comfort "ah i like thel as a foal!"
Thelerian stopped trotting and looked over at at Hotaru suprised. (there was also a slight pink tinge on his cheek) " Thanks for understanding Hotaru...I think I will be living in the plains...for the time being. As you can see I'm rather uncomfortable with humans...," Thel replied shaking his head sadly. " But I do feel bad about the meeting with your human friend though...Is there anyway I can compensate for my behaviour?" Thelerian asked glancing back towards the teepee.
Elan pretended to be shocked " Do you mean that you actually like Thel?" Elan asked snickering slightly. "Hotaru and Thel sitting in a tree...," But what Elan had planed on saying was never known when a well aimed pebble was thrown in Elan's direction by Thelerian causing the hawk to dodge in a hurry. " Peh, you called that a shot?" the hawk taunted as he flew above the two soquilis.
Hotaru nodded. "Well i'm sure she wont mind, really. She herself isnt very comfortable around other humans too" the pink soquili giggled. "oh well i know a way that you can compensate for this meeting"she smiled sheepishly "by visiting me now and then?" she knew she would miss him when they had parted, and she felt that dreaded moment was drawing close. "will you?" she said. she wished she was as free as thel and could go anywhere sh wanted to. but she had a family, nephalia and zephyr.. she could not leave them.. could she? then hotaru raised her eyes to see elan "do you mind if i chase your winged friend?" she asked thel inan playful manner and streched her wings and levitated in the air to get to elan's altitude. "you sure know how to make one mad don't you?" she giggled and winked before she returned back on the ground next to thel. her lightenign sign was glowing in avibrant blue.
Thelerian laughed softly at Hotaru's cheerful attitude. Now further away from humans the stallion felt more relaxed. "I guess that could be arranged," Thelerian answered in his usual soft tone. Looking up at Elan the stallion then snorted. "Feel free to chase him. It would do him good to know that he isn't the fastest being around,"
"I heard that!" Elan called out from above. Folding his wings the hawk then pretended to strike Thelerian but just as his claws came into contact with the stallion's hide Elan flared his wings and soared above them once more.
Hotaru laughed "Ah yes he is fast alright... but we will see who is the best soon, if he challenges me to race!" She wasnt in a racing mood in that particular moment but if challanged, she would take on the opportunity to practice her wings which she rarely used nowadays. "You are a playful fellow aren't you!" she laughed. Thel was more collected and balanced elan's hyperactivity, it was a wonder how he could keep the hawk as a familiar to begin with. how they became friends was a question in hotaru's mind. "thel.. would you tell me how you two met?" she asked curiously "if that is ok i mean.."
Catori shook her head, her short main ruffelend again. She had left the valley, the small herd currently in an uproar about an unusual littel basket that appeared seemingly out of no-were. She looked around, and spotted the stallion she had met the day before. But she didnt recognise the other, so she tilted her head slightly, standing on the slowly sinking rise of a hill, watching them curiously.
"We'll...it's nothing really...," Thelerion said pawing the ground lightly. " What I've been through would be...rather unique and well I met Elan during my travels...," Thelerian replied trying not to sound too confusing. "Actually our meeting started off with an argument not unlike what you have witness,"Thelerian continued with a toss of his head.
A sudden breeze blew past the two soquilis and Thelerian recognised a familiar scent . Turning around he spotted the striped mare from the previous meeting. "Miss Catori?" Thelerion called out facing the other female.
Hotaru blinked "Ah! I might have imagines that! I wish I had such a companion." then she whispered to Thel's ear "Who would be as fun as elan but don't let him hear that! He would boast off!" she laughed and then realizing she they were not alone anymore, she looked around to see a new soquili she ahd not met before "oh hi there!" she called out to the white and striped soquili who was apperently called catori. she had a lovely pattern!
Catori smiled, giveing a happy whinny and makeing her way down the rest of the hill in a light-hearted canter, slender legs carrying her swoftly even if she was still moveing at a "lazy" pace. " Helo there Thelerion! ' she said, giveing her long everald and ruby tail a happy swish.
Her scarlet eyes sparckeled as she looked at the other mare " Hello! " she said, another she ahd never met before! She did seem to be meeting alot of new soquili as of late, but she enjoyed it. If she had to spend all day with two hyper flutters and a wicked littel foal. All in the same valley, even the calmer two there, she would go insane. " Nice to meet you " she said, smileing happily " and good to see you again ' she said, haveing to tilt her head up slightly to look at him correctly.
Sometimes it was rather irritateing to be so tiny.
"I wouldn't draem of it," Thelerian whispered back. Far overhaed shouts of "Conspirators!!!" could be heard coming from the scarlet hawk.
As Catori approach Thelerion let out a small whicker and nodded to the little mare. "Good day miss Catori. Hotaru, this is Catori and Catori, Hotaru," Thelerian said introducing the two.
Hatori nodded happily "Nice to meet you Catori! You have such festive colors!" She always liked the combination of white red and green and Catori made a lovely sight of those three. Then she turned back to Thel "Thank you for keeping me company, I really anjoyed it.. Please do rmember your promise, wont you?" she asked genuinely because she would be rather sad if she did not see thel again. then she turned to elan "I have a promise of a nice fish feash for you! i will take you up on that dont worry"she smiled and the finally she bowed kindly to catori "nice to meet you, i hope i see you sometime again!" she smiled as she slowly turned back, hopin to receive a warm goodbye from thel, but knowing the way he was, she did not give too much credit on that. she wished she could see inside the shell thel has made for himself somehow...
Seeing Hotaru turn to leave Thelerian took a few steps forward as if to follow her than stopped. "Goodbye miss Hotaru...for now," Thelerian replied speaking the last two words even softer than usual.
" Don't worry! I shall claim my rights to fish!" Elan called out after the pink soquili.

Thelerian and Yei RP: She hadn't found the rabbit as she had intended to and with a disgruntled sigh the firey soquili wandered back towards the edges of the clearing in which she had met quite a colourful number of her own kind. Each and every one of them had been memorable for one reason or another and although she had been rather rude in failing to dismiss herself she couldn't help but release a chuckle, no doubt if they met again she could jest with them and they would not feel that she was belittling them in any malicious manner.
It was with this in mind that she released a sigh and came to a halt, her hoof pawing absently at the grass before she once again turned her attentions to the clearing and to those who resided upon it - it seemed like a fairly sociable place and thus she had anticipated that at least one soquili would have a similar idea in mind.
...Did they though? She never could trust her own eyes completely, they played tricks on her.
After seeing Hotaru off Thelerian sighed and made his way towards the clearing where he had met Hotaru earlier.
High above the tree tops Elan was flying silently through the air. This usually meant that he was hunting. And having witness Elan hunt before Thelerian knew that a small animal would probably end up as Elan's dinner sooner or later.
Stepping into the clearing Thelerian at once noticed another soquili there and like the first two encounters, this soquili happened to be a female too. Her firey hue was a stark contrast against the greenish background. Taking care not to be noticed (He felt that one encounter a day was exciting enough) Thelerian was walking as softly as possible when his feet suddenly stepped onto a dead branch.
Her ears twitched as the sound rippled through the still air towards them and it was with this that she looked up abruptly, her eyes falling upon the dark stallion slinking across the meadow a few metres away from her - the manner in which he held himself made her flatten her ears in apparent offence though for he seemed to be avoiding her and she hadn't even done anything to scare him off!
Hmph, just hmph.
Shaking her head she released a snort and averted her gaze to look elsewhere, feigning apparent interest in things that would otherwise have been considered trivial to her but she did this for a reason...how dare he treat her like something rotten when he didn't even know her!
Crack.
Thelerian flinched as the sound of the cracked branch came out louder than he'd imagine or...was it that the surrounding sounds had died out?
Stealing a glance towards the female soquili Thelerian could have sworn that he heard a hmph of distaste coming from her but upon closer inspection, she seemed not to have noticed his presence. In fact, she seemed rather interested in something that Thelerian couldn't see.
Perhaps I'd imagined it Thelerian thought and was just about to slink off once again when Elan came flying down with a triumphant screech. "Look Thel! The game here is better than the last place we stayed in. Isn't it great?"
"Elan!!," Thelerian hissed angrily with his ears flattened against his skull. "Be quiet will you?"
"Why?"Elan answered back offended (and raising his voice in the process)" Just because you don't talk above a whisper does not mean I can't!"
While Elan was loudly stating reasons why Thelerian should be more like him (Elan) Thelerian cast a nervous glance towards the female soquili and debated whether making a mad dash across the clearing would be a better choice. Either way she was bound to hear him by now....
Oh, she had heard alright but she was hardly going to give the skulking and rude figure the satisfaction of a response considering how poorly he had treated her - the other stallions had been much more sociable even though they appeared to enjoy grumbling to one another (or at least one did).
Nevertheless, it was with the apparent lecture of the hawk that caused her to look up and she couldn't help but chuckle at the loudmouthed avian who was not only a source of entertainment but evidently appeared to be his equine friend's bane of existance...such fun to view and not to mention, the stallion deserved it when everyone took note of what he had done.
"I must say sir, at least your bird knows how to be of remote entertainment. Are you always this rude?" She enquired silkly.
Thelerian almost jumped out of his skin when addressed by the female. So she did notice his presence afterall! Turning towards the mare with his ears flatenned and guilt written all over his face Thelerian attempted to reply when Elan cut in. "A bird madam? I'm no bird I'm a hawk!" Saying so the avian puffed out his chest and ruffled his feathers.
"A hawk is a bird." Yei Umeko pointed out smoothly, arching an equine brow at the loud mouthed avian who definately had no manners but alas, she was aware that few about here did unless it suited them and thus she simply shook her head and released a sigh - her gaze fixed on the stallion as she pointily ignored the bird.
Ah, she registered the expression upon his youthful face and promptly released a rich chuckle which she deemed to be appropriate in the given situation. So he did have some manners or at least enough to register some form of guilt at what he had done.
"Lost your tongue?" She cooed.
"Err...no ma'am!I mean miss!" Thelerian stammered taking a few more steps back. Who was this firey female? Flattening his ears once more the painted stallion tried desperately to look for a way out. Perhaps he could outrun her?
"Well I never!" the hawk replied obviously put out. " And who do you think you are talking to us like---like we're some sort of babarians?"
"Elan! Stop it," Thelerian hissed giving the female a nervous glance.
"Well you lack in enough manners to be barbarians!" Yei chirped, pulling herself up to appear taller as she puffed out her cheeks in obvious distaste. She was not about to be out ranked by a bird who was significantly smaller than her, why if he were closer she would squish him beneath her hooves and make a new dream catcher out of his flight feathers!
She didn't voice that of course.
Nevertheless, she did eventually regain her composure and cooly observed the stallion who seemed incapable of decent speech (which further supported her case) and shook her head, was he really that lacking in etiquette? Even she wasn't that bad.
"It is most definately 'miss'," she confirmed.
" Oh...umm..then I really sorry miss...," Thelerian replied trying to sound as humble as possibly. "I did not think you would take such matters personally...,"
"What th---," Elan was obviously going to spurt out something not designed for foals to hear when Thelerian once again stopped him. " Elan...please calm down. I'm sure we can sort this out peacefully...," Thelerian said trying to soothe his angry friend.

Theleian and Ceylona RP: Ceylona was roaming the feet of the mountains, exploring the forests that sprawled across the foothills. She hadn't dared go back to the human's teepee, but she was inwardly fighting a losing battle. The muscled red mare couldn't resist the lure of her own curiousity.
She had been trudging along an overgrown trail when large bits of leaves waving along in a line attracted her attention. Curious, she bent and snuffled a bit roughly, sending the bits of leaves and the tiny creatures carrying them tumbling left and right. Chagrined, she watched with asmazement as they regrouped and continued back into line.
She followed their trail until the ant trail entered a fallen and hollow log. She trotted around the other side, but the weren't coming out the other end. As she was ducking her head to peer into the log and lifting her head to look back at the other end in momentary confusion, she discovered something else to distract her.
There was a squirrel who apparently thought she was playing hide and seek with it. It was a red squirrel, and it peeked at her from the other end of the log. Twitching her hears, the cinnamon mare peeked back into her end of the log, only to catch sight of the squirrel again, this time hanging upside down and grinning back at her from the other end again.
Giving a snort, Ceylona then did something very silly, which was quite unusual for her. She stuck her muzzle into the narrow log. It was just big enough for her nose to fit up to her strong jaw. She then blew hard once and then trumpeted a neigh at the squirrel at the other end. The hollow log acted like an amplifier and her neigh rang out the other end, startling the squirrel into flight. Cey chuckled to herself and took a step backward... only to discover her muzzle was STUCK!
"So...what do you plan to do today Thel?" Elan the hawk asked as he flew lazily above the painted stallion.
"I don't know Elan...," Thelerain replied giving the hawk a small smile. "Do you have anything in mind?"
"No,not really," Elan replied as he landed atop Thelerian's back. "But I feel bored all the same,"
"Surely you do not wish me to wander off again do you Elan?"the painted stallion replied in a soft tone; but this time there was a hint of amusement in it.
"I never said that!" Elan replied giving Thelerian a dig with his claws; something he knew the stallion did not like. "But if would do for you to be more socialise Thel,"
"I see," came the answer.
Soon the duo came upon a shaded area of the clearing when a loud (but hollow sounding) neigh was heard. "What was that Thel?" the hawk asked nearly falling off with suprise.
"I don't know...but let's see," said Thelerian as he made his way towards the direction of the sound. HE hoped it wouldn't be trouble.
Ceylona stood still for a moment, blinking and feeling stupid. What had she been thinking?? She took a few breaths and then tugged backwards. No luck. She was still stuck fast. Her ears swiveled as she thought, her long tail swishing in agitation. She supposed those humans would be useful in this sort of situation. Now where did THAT thought come from?
Irritated with herself for thinking such things, she braced all four hooves and heaved backwards. Instead of her nose coming loose, the log came loose. She staggered backwards with the sudden weight of the long hollow log accelerating her direction. Well that hadn't worked!
Unfortunately, it had made her situation worse. For inside the log was where the ants had made their nest. And now it had been violently disturbed. Ants swarmed out of the hill within the log and began scrambling everywhere. It wasn't long before they were all over her muzzle inside the log. Dismayed, she began backing across the clearing. Further agitated, the ants moved faster and began to bite! Her sensitive nostrils stung with the repeated bites, and Ceylona went from frustrated to distressed.
Desperate, she began to paw at the log with one forehoof, scraping bark off the old log. She wanted to neigh for help, but kept her lips clamped tight shut. Ants in her nose were bad enough, but in her mouth? There was no way she'd let that happen if she could help it!
Thelerian gently eased himself into a canter and moved to where he precieved the noise had come from. Now it seemed that a banging and pawing sound too could be heard. "Elan, see what's up ahead," said the stallion to the hawk as he wound his way through a thicket.
"No problem," Elan replied flaring his wings. Reaching the said spot first Elan saw a young mare...with a log around her muzzle. "Damsel in distress!" Elan called out to Thel as he circled the female.
"Hang in there," Thel replied and with a short spurt of speed jumped over the thicket nearly crashing into the distressed female
Being a wild mare, even through her current distress, she did not fail to hear the crashing of a large animal coming at her from behind. This frightened her far more than the ants and log did. She froze, shifting her weight forward so that her muzzle actually pushed a bit deeper into the log. She used it to brace and balance, so that both hind hooves were ready to strike should anything come too near.
Her ears pivoted all the way back and up, searching for some evidence of what was rushing up on her, and her eyes rolled backwards. Her nose was useless, encased in wood and swarmed with insects as it was. She spared just a moment to wince at the pain of her poor soft nose, then returned herself to readiness to defend herself if she needed to. She did manage a single bugling challenge, blown strictly through her nostrils and magnified by the hollow log.
Thelerian stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the female (at least it looked like a female) walking about with a log stuck to her muzzle.Approaching her cautiously Thelerian made sure that he was in her line of view. He did not fancy being hit at all if he could help it. When he finally came close enough to speak to her thelerian cocked an eyebrow. "Do you...need help miss?"
When the soquili stallion came into view, she visibly relaxed. Not a predator after all. That was a great relief... and yet now she was caught in a ridiculous situation of her own making! She was quite mortified. As a wild thing, she should have had more sense than to do something so silly as this!
Still, she would be a fool if she didn't accept the proferred help. Resignedly and with a great deal of relief, she bobbed her head carefully, still unable to open her mouth to respond. She honestly was rather grateful for a helping hoof for getting out of this. She winced again as a larger ant tweaked the very soft inner part of her nose. The pain was beginning to make her eyes water.
This was what she got for playing with a wild and wily squirrel!
Gently Thelerian bit the tip of the other end of the log and pulled. It was stuck tight! Closing his eyes, Thelerian then bit deeper into the decaying wood and pulled harder. Soon, ants could also be seen crawling over his muzzle. Seeing his friend in a rather hilarious situation, Elan perched himself onto the log that was stuck to the female Soquili. "What are you doing Thel? Hunting ants?" Elan asked teasing the stallion.
"Not funny... Elan,"Thelerian muttered between his teeth as he increased the force of the pull. Then with a sudden jerk the log came off and Thelerian found himself thrown backwards along with the ants from the log...
Ceylona watched the stallion attempt her rescue. At first it hurt to have pressure from the tugged long on her already sore muzzle, and she felt grumpy about all the hurting she had currently. But something changed as she watched him valiantly trying to free her. Peering around the featherduster that resembled Delphia's friend, she watched wide-eyed as the stallion put up with ants swarming angrily not just onto his muzzle, but into his mouth!
This softened her more than any smooth words and slick attitude could ever do. True, she had asked for his help, but he still was willingly sharing her pain, quite literally! She again braced all four hooves and flexed haunches and shoulders and neck, pulling the opposite direction. She slid forward a little and backpedaled to keep the pressure up when the old log finally gave way and broke along the edge, freeing her muzzle. Unprepared for the sudden release, she staggered backwards, tripped over her own hooves, and fell sprawling with an explosive grunt.
"You guys remind me of a song I once heard; something to the tune of 'Pop goes the weasel!'" Elan replied laughing as he watched the two soquilis fall backwards.
"Very funny Elan," Thelerian replied shaking bits of broken wood and ants out of his face. Once he was sure there wasn't any left he cautiously made his way over to the female. "Um...Are you alright miss?" Thelerian asked not sure if he should help her up.
Ceylona heaved a heavy sigh, letting it out in a gust. She hadn't bothered to try and remove the ants from her muzzle yet, since at this point her nose felt like one solid welt, and a few more bites weren't going to matter that much. She was just trying to catch her breath.
She flicked her ears at the hawk and eyed him askance. So he though this was funny, did he? Just then the stallion came up cautiously, clearly unsure of what his role should now be in her rescue. She lifted her head and blew once, finally removing some of the crawling insects from the inner reaches of her nose. "I certainly have been better," she replied honestly. "But I am not overly hurt, no."
She carefully untangled her legs, doing her best not to pull out her long tail in the process. Finally with her limbs straight, she placed both forehooves firmly on the ground and heaved upwards. She blew messily again and shook her head low, hoping to get rid of a few more of the ants. "Have you seen a stream or pond nearby, by chance?" She sent the stallion a pleading look. "I think my nose needs some soothing."
"Back there miss; through the thickets," Thelerian replied motioning his head towards the thick undergrowth. Then without waiting for her reply Thelerion pushed through the rough shrubbery and made a small path through it for the mare to walk through.
"What are you doing Thel?" Elan asked flying overhead. "Trying to be a knight now?" Apparently the hawk was still in good spirits after seeing the two soquilis go 'pop' like a weasel.
Ceylona turned and followed the male gamely. She didn't mind the help at all, despite her general loud proclaimations of needing noone. This was the sort of help she could use... useful and unfawning. She peered up at the cackling hawk. Were they all this mocking and provoking? She seemed to recall Jaden being much the same way, actually.
They emerged into another clearing, but this one was filled with the merry sound of rushing water. A stream, swollen by the winter snow melting, cut across the clearing, sending dazzling sparkles of light back at them. She gratefully cantered over and plunged her muzzle into the chilled water. It had a bite to it too, coming directly down from the mountains, but nothing could have felt sweeter to the poor mare.
Her whole muzzle felt painfully swollen and throbbing, and the freezing water felt delicious. She inentinoally sucked water up into her nostrils and lifted her head to blow it back out before it slid down her throat. She did this several times. She then dipped her nose in to drink deeply. She felt like she could taste nothing but bark dust, and found the cold water refreshing to the taste as well as cooling to her nose.
She lifed her head, water dripping from her chin, to smile a bit sheepishly at the male. "Thank you for your help. I was in quite a bind." She glanced up at the circling hawk. "I'm Ceylona. It certainly is a pleasure to meet you, although the circumstances are both painful and embarassing." She paused to dip her head and paw at her still stinging nose with her knee.
"I'm glad that you're...well," Thelerian replied nodding his head. He was tempted to ask how the young mare had got her muzzle stuck in the log but decided against it. If wasn't his place to ask afterall.
"My name's Thelerian," the stallion contined "...and the hawk's Elan,"
"Please to meet you madam," Elan replied finally settling down on the stallion's back and began preening his feathers. After a while the hawk looked up once again and asked, "By the way, what were you going with that log?"
"Elan, stop being a busy body!" Thelerian chided turning to face the hawk. "What? I bet you're as curious as I am aren't you?" Elan retorted looking intently at Thelerian. "Well...," "See! I knew it!" Elan screeched in delight at having proven himself.
Ceylona touched noses briefly with the stallion and blew gently in greeting, then eyed the hawk again. "That's quite a companion you have, Thelerian. How did you come by such a...," she paused to feel for the right word, "jester?"
She shifted her weight, blinking the last of the tears from the stinging pain of her nose away. The freezing water had helped immensely, and the swelling of her nose was going down, taking the pain with it. She chose to completely ignore the bird's rude question, though she kept one ear slanted in his direction as she turned and dipped her nose in the water again, just for good measure.
"I met him...on one of my travels you could say...," Thelerian replied flicking his ears in slight amusement at the female's antics. "Though he is a 'jester' as you put it, he 'can' be quite halpful at times...,"
"Jester?!" the hawk screech somewhat offended. "I'm not a jester! And you Thel, how could you agree!?" Flaring his wings the hawk left Thel's back and landed in a huff somewhere nearby.
The cinnamon mare chuckled at Thelerian's comment. "Yes, I could see how having a winged one at your side would be of some benefit... depsite his rudeness." She nipped at the hawk with amusement in her eyes. "I was thinking about how having a human companion could have been useful in my previous situation as well." She paused thoughtfully, all teasing gone.
"I've met one human, who seemed nice enough, if a little dense concerning language." She pawed at the ground and snagged a bit of grass to chew on. "I'm just not sure about letting one take over my life. It's one thing to let a companion tag along," here she glanced at the hawk. "But to bind yourself to their way of life, so that you are tagging along with them, rather than the other way around?" She snorted loudly and shook her head hard, as if a fly were in her ear. "It doesn't make any sense to me."
"I'm..not getting a human...," Thelerian answered flatly casting his eyes onto the female. " ...and I hope I never shall,"
"I'm not rude!" Elan retorted sniffing. "I'm just...frank," The hawk then flew off his perch and landed on Ceylona's back. " Not as broad as yours Thel but it's softer than the branch," Elan said winking cheekily at the mare. "Do you want to find out just how 'rude' I could get? Thel found that out quite some time ago...,"
Ceylona lifted one hoof and regarded the stallion with some surprise. Here was someone who actually agreed with her... and without the curiousity that drove her to find out more about them. She extended her head curiously, her long forelock falling across her face, intending on asking him why he felt strongly about it (there went that curiousity again!) when the hawk landed on her without so much as a by-your-leave.
She snorted indignantly and craned her neck to peer back at him with her ears back. "Next time you decide to use me as a tree branch, ask first," she told him sternly, flashing her large white teeth at him. "Or you'll find out how I take rudenss, Frank." She tossed her head proudly and whinnied a laugh at her own nickname for the forward hawk.
She turned again to Thelerian. "What makes you dislike them so?" Her ears canted forward as far as they would go as she listened intently. Perhaps there was something he knew about these humans that she hadn't yet heard.
"Well...because of the same reason you gave anyway...,"Thelerian replied shrugging his shoulders. "I do not like to be tied down to another's law...and humans seem to be full of it...,"
"My name's Elan," the hawk replied not getting the joke. "And as for you not wanting me to stay on your back, I get the hint...," Taking off once more the hawk then landed on the stallion's back instead.
Ceylona watched the hawk fly back over to perch on the stallion. "Frank's a bit touchy, isn't he?" She gave Thelerian an amused look to show she meant no offence. She then proceeded to move forward and give the hawk an all-over good snuffle. She started at his beak, huffed over his head, down his wings, to his large claws, and gave a last snuff at his tail. "Well, Elan-who-is-frank, you smell of spring winds and budding leaves. Not a bad smell, for a bird." She lipped at his tail feathers teasingly.
"Have you met any humans?" she switched gears rather abruptly, tipping her head to peer at the stallion. "I have met one. I wasn't sure about her, but I will admit, she bound no laws on me. I think she knew I was no creature of hers, but was free and preferred to stay that way." She tossed her head and reared faintly, both front hooves coming off the earth by a few inches. She then sidled sideways up near Thelerian's back and moved as if to lip at Elan's tail again, mischief glowing in her eyes.
"Hey,hey, hey! What are you doing?" the hawk squawked in supprised at being snuffled at. Never before had he been snuffled by a horse and Elan was dertermined that it was not going to happen again. Flying off Thelerian's back the hawk landed in a huff high above the two soquilis. Peering down to make sure that there was absolutely no chance that one of them could reach him Elan proceeded to preen his feathers all the while keeping a watchful eye on the female of course. She looked like she was prepared to do it again...
"Yes, I've met humans...,"Thelerian say bluntly looking at the mare. "But that does not mean I need to like them though... their ways are foreign to me...,"
Ceylona swished her tail nonchalantly at the hawk's obvious indignance and looked back to Thelerian. "I would never suggest you needed to," she replied mildly. "I am only intrigued due to a curse I was blessed with. The Great Spirit gave me an unfailing sense of curiousity, I'm afraid." She turned to bite at an itch on her shoulder.
"For now, I must go." She looked up at the hawk and smiled. "I have another birdbrain to irritate." She huffed at him playfully through her nostrils, which were now feeling much better. She pivoted on her hind hooves and dipped in a dramatic way to Thelerian. "Farewell, and safe travels, brother." She pivoted again and made a similar bow to the hawk, her expression and tone respectful. "Fair wind and swift flight to you, wind brother."
Nodding her head again to the stallion, she trotted to the stream edge and jumped across, soon disappearing into the forest beyond. What an interesting encounter that had been!
