Personality: Melly is full of joy and wonder at the beauty of the world. Though she has experienced tragedy in her young life, it has not extinguished her inner joy. Unlike a stereotypical demure unicorn mare, she is physically strong and swift, preferring to dance through the wilderness than be fussed over by maidens who want to braid flowers and ribbons into her hair. She is free spirited and a capable healer who judges none by their looks or bloodline but solely by their actions.

Melian has always been light of heart, flirting happily with many a handsome stallion. But one mysterious evening, at the Dark Moon Circus, Melian found herself drawn into a twisted Tunnel of Love with a strange stallion with claws instead of hooves. Her memories are vague, but she wakes from her daze with a hunk of hair torn from her mane and a belly full of new life. Despite their shadowed beginning, Melian loves and fully accepts her children despite their unusual appearance.
