~Current Theme Music~:... After being hit with what he could only assume to be something of a rag Toso would lift his head depressively to see where it had come from. There would be a man spouting positive uplifting bravado...ah despite targeting his wallet. Suprisingly enough he recognized a face. It was Unki. Weakly grabbing the shirt off his person two of his tentacles extended towards the railing and like grappling hooks began pulling the squid up. It was slow like lifting heavy cargo and when the squid finally got level with the the two of them he looked like a marionette with how loose his body draped depressively slumped.
"Just returning this bloo. Some hot water ought to get the stains out bloo. he'd say the third tentacle bringing up the shirt. Bloo it seems I've stained you again. Bloo. apologies Unki bloo...perhaps it was wise that whoever formerly had your body left me to die bloo.hoo.. leaving off on that note he simply hung like a man from the gallows.

When Unki spoke up about him handling it well, Shiro just let out a small chuckle,"There are some things in this world that are worth fighting for... this is hardly close to that point. Best to laugh it off and enjoy it." Turning around he placed his back up against the railing, incidentally giving Unki a full view of his chest and stomach. Though his attention wasnt held on her when he heard two wet heavy slaps on the railing next to him. A glance would reveal that two tentacles, which were incidentally attached to the mass of ink and man, were the source of the sound.
When the man/squid began reeling himself up Shiro leaned back a bit to take his shirt with a nod,"Eh if it comes out it comes out, not really concerned about it." Though it seemed the man knew Unki from a previous exchange of some kind though when he mentioned whoever had her body leaving him to die, Shiro tensed up a bit. Rubbing his neck he chuckled nervously,"That would be me.. My apologies friend I did not know anyone was inside of that smoke screen. Granted I was understandably scatterbrained at the time. But again you have my apologies for what they are worth."
Pulling a small bundle of ryo from his pants pocket he slid it into the squids coat,"Since your buying first round and all, I would feel bad given that I almost inadvertently killed you."
------- A thought stalled and was promptly lost after Shiro had turned. The front side of his torso was THERE. When he spoke, she forced her attention to derail in-order to absorb what he was saying instead of how he was standing. She forgot what she was thinking prior but found a new thought in Shiro's comment in taking the alternative and laughing off the little things; such restraint was a good trait to embrace: being able to pick and choose one's quarrels. The likeness was something Unki could admit to sticking to only halfway, probably.
She would watch Shiro accept his shirt and quickly hear him admit to being responsible for nearly killing Toso. She had to resist glaring for his mistake. But his error was a "scatterbrained" mistake, although a potentially costly mistake, but Unki still wanted to win this guy's favor in case the option of treating her was on the table and she felt entitled to showing restraint. Instead, Unki left her seat to approach the rail, and leaned her shoulders and head just over the rail in attempts to look some at the other side of the gloomy squid. "Ohha, Toso, that would totally suck if you died! You have all that knowledge to spread, like, you showed me I was missing a good resources to fight with."
She remembers something from her coastal life. Her memories of fishing and underwater ventures taught more than a few things about certain sea life, squid included. Her suggestion didn't feel like a sure-fire solution but they were in a restaurant. Her tone shrunk upon questioning " Can Unki-chan bribe you with shrimp to improve that loom-of-gloom?" That's right. A bribe. Unki would look up and back at Shiro to only freeze again in awe. " A-re you comfortable without your coat on? I-isn't it cool outside?"Outisde? We're inside! ~Current Theme Music~:Phweeen Biography "Bloo..So it was you." Spoken in a dower almost unsettling tone. The tentacle that once held the man's coat produced a sharp ink tip brimming with 'justice' only to withdraw before it grew too noticeable. Toso's depressive mayhaps even malevolent state withdrew as well as Shiro explained it being a scatter-brained mistake rather than intentional and providing a sound apology. In truth, based on first impressions alone Toso had initially believed Shiro to be neerdowell cockamamy a** hat type. It was a pleasant surprise and to his benefit this wasn't the case. It was that or he was restraining himself as to not look bad in front of Unki but if that were truly the case...well...it would speak for Toso's deduction skills in regards to first impressions. When presented with the money Toso dismissed it with a shake of his head.
The still pitch black mess of a man squid would then finish his rappelling over the railing to place him center of the two. Finally getting a good look at Shiro came the recollection and reminder that he had at one point been in his body as well. "Bloop, I should be partially indebted to you in a sense. After all it was through your eyes I was finally able to see my hearts desire...of course bloop you may be questioned by a few in the medical profession why it is you were weeping in fetal positions over the foliage of a potted plant."
His demeanor having shifted back to stagnant again whether or not there still resided sadness within or if he felt anything for that matter had become the common mystery once more. The black pigmentation on his skin began fading returning to its pale color as the inky patches seemed to soak into the squid's skin as lotion or moisturizing creams would the process itself partially mesmerizing. As Unki spoke or to some degree floundered Toso's third tentacle began a trip back down to his former sitting place to re-acquire his coat. Putting it on Unki would be spared from the abdominal pincer attack as Toso returned to his trademark fluffle puffy look. "That sounds lovely bloop." He'd respond to Unki's propositional shrimp.
Ah...the fact of the matter still stood he'd still inked the two of them, and it was still profoundly hard to cleanse it if not of Hojo blood. "Perhaps bloop, after this a trip to the hot springs?" The heat of the hot springs should suffice to removing any unsightly specks, he'd hope he was being discreet enough although something rang that he was failing to some degree, he'd simply have to hope that the two of them wouldn't put two and two together to elaborate on the Hojo squid weakness. "Cool?" The questionable word came up while Unki began to fail verbally in Shiro's 'abdominant' presence. "Ah, bloop. I suppose everything must feel cool to you Unk-nē what with your level of heat tolerance." Attaching nē and playing it off her name. Truly he didn't know Unki's age so attaching older sister to her name could be seen as either an insult or a compliment...or weird. She was not the first of course to fall under Toso's siblingisms as the squid would wonder where Axel-nii had gone to. Anyway it seemed Toso provided Unki some unintentional cover for her word bumbling attributing it to her chakras rather than 'hormones'

While he was conversing with the two, Shiro had a bit of a moment. He had missed this, the companionship of people his own age. People who did not try to be cool, or edgy or show off. People who were just normal people. Granted he had no doubt that his new friends had their quirks but still they were normal to him. Letting out a bit of a smile when Unki asked him if he was cold he shook his head,"Not at all. My hometown was in the land of frost to the south, along the mountains so the cold does not bother me that much. But..." Reaching forward he slipped his fur trimmed leather jacket onto his shoulders with a quick nod,"I dont want anything to happen to this jacket."
Turning his attention to Toso as he answered a question he did not know he wanted answered. Who had his body when he was in Unki's body. Though his smile widened a bit when he informed him of the possible questioning he would have to go through. Waving his hand dismissively,"At this point, with the amount of weird stuff that goes on in the hospital. I could easily pass it off as a moment of stress induced insanity. Goddess knows being the only actual doctor on the emergency staff means I dont get much free time."
Though when Toso inquired as to a trip to the hotsprings, Shiro shook his head,"While I would not be apposed to spending time with my new friends, I dont know if I could afford it. Between the hospital, training I need to continue, my prayers, and teaching at the academy. I am pretty booked today." It was times like this where he hated spreading himself so thin, but at the end of the day it was what the village required of him and so he was content to do it regardless of the backlash it would have upon himself.
Shifting gears Shiro called over the railing,"HEY, Kansashi! Were ready up here." To which the woman nodded and headed up the stairs to take their order. Turning to the two he smiled,"Eat your fills, its on me."

Much better. Both men in company were clothed to the point of reducing distraction: Toso was poofy and gray, yet Shiro was still shirtless. The sight of a stripe of skin down the center between his jacket was something Unki would have to ignore. She would take her seat again across from Shiro and quickly mull over Toso's suggestion; "I'd like the sound of a trip to the hot springs, but I actually thought i'd look into first looking for work. I heard a while ago that the hot springs management are supposedly looking for an extra hand or two; and I thought I'd try something like helping them out. Another time would probably be best!" I wonder if a bath in warm water is uncomfortable for a squid-person? The wriggly tentacle-thingys didn't like a touch from scorch chakra but that's several degrees more than a hot bath, right?
A glance at her shoulder reminds her of the ink speckles, she wondered about the remark on hot water to clean Shiro's shirt, but felt that if she were to show up anywhere asking for work her appearance could give the impression of a hard worker of some sorts. Maybe a messy worker, but Unki was typically wet and cold after a sea salt soak during the process of working. Maybe the impression for a good, hard worker was in the attitude? A slightly smirk came and went, she caught wind of slight change of syllable in her name.
She perks, "The land of Frost? Brr, that's a place you would need a hot spring for! It sounds too cold for me, almost. I can only handle so much cold before I want to find somewhere to be warm. If everything were cool to me, well..." This wasn't easy. Unki would recall complaining over warm weather on occasion, equally complaining about colder weather, but Toso's comment was a reminder she does have a different tolerance to temperature. "Hot sunny days in the summer are still nice enough where I won't complain. Fire's still way too hot. I suppose most hot days are just tolerable for me. I wonder how differently I take cold weather in comparison? I never really swam in the winter months. In all, I guess I never really thought about it!"
Being treated to lunch by a likely, over-slated, shirtless doctor with a blooping squid man who absorbs ink like it's nothing. How nice! Unki smiles, conveying her delight (and the affirmation of her prediction) with a playful touch to her chin, "thank you, Shiro. So generous." She would promptly speak to the woman after the inquiry for their order. "Oden. With a cup of amazake?" Something with an egg or a potato paired with a few other surprise ingredients sounded like the thing to dive for, especially in this carefree environment. Here's hoping amazake isn't alcoholic here, because alcohol seems plenty here!~

~Current Theme Music~:Phweeen Biography When it came to Toso there was an awkward silence between the waitress and the squid as they locked eyes. Toso was but eighteen but his facial features spoke towards someone in his twenties mostly impart due to how he kept his hair, which was usually rather unkempt. Finally the silence was broken. "A pitcher of water bloop." The awkward tension finally alleviated it was almost like she dreaded asking him what he wanted to consume after but she bravely asked praying another awkward moment didn't arise. "Anything of the decapoda order bloop." Intelligent to some degree and not all looks she deciphered the squids lingo as any form of shellfish. She would no doubt stay to take Shiro's order but with a pitcher of water already in hand she poured the squid a glass.
Seemingly pleased by this Toso then proceeded to get a hold of the nearest salt shaker in which he unscrewed the lid. What occurred next would be something abnormal to say the least. He poured roughly 1/4th of the shakers contents into the glass of water and began to swish it around the granules clearly visible. Analyzing thoroughly to the point he believed the salt was spread out appropriately he downed the glass much to possible disgust.
The waitress would then inquire if he'd prefer..a margarita with a salted rim. Toso would shake his head. "In my village, the Tosokurui family is strictly prohibited from any consumption of alcoholic beverages. Bloop. I was never told why however, I'm certain it's for good reason." It was clear that the squid had never been intoxicated before or at least not to a point where he could remember said intoxication. There was a brief flash of curiosity in his eyes but it was again subdued by his same blank expression shortly after. The waitress would then wait for the order of the man that hailed her. Still he had said Tosokurui family in such a way it sounded as if he was a father.
It seemed everyone had tasks they wished to tend to. It had been quite awhile since he himself had tasked himself with anything of the mission variety. In addition he had to make some claims at the office for starters. Perhaps it would be wise if he himself decided to tend to some duties after this camaraderie. Surely if he didn't he would return into a mope once more.

When it came his turn to order he smiled quickly to her,"Steak and shrimp stir fry, extra shrimp and carrots. Light sauce please." Turning back to Unki and Toso he once again gave both of them his attention as Toso spoke of his home town. Ban on alcohol? Brutal. Back in Shion drinking was almost mandatory once you came of age. At every event worth celebrating people drank. Yet oddly enough no matter how he tried he could not think of anyone who suffered an addiction to the substance.
Thankfully it was not a long wait before their food was delivered. Handing the woman a small bundle of ryo without actually counting it she excused herself as he smiled to his friends,"Chow time." Cracking apart his chopsticks he plopped a couple of pieces of shrimp and steak into his mouth with a satisfied smile. Clearly enjoying the flavor of the two and the protein it would bring. ~Current Theme Music~:Phweeen Biography Toso would recieve quite literally a large ornate platter of shrimp with cocktail sauce in the center. He'd stare at it momentarily as the waitress placed an individual pitcher of water for the squids consumption. The pitcher was thusly met with the same fate as the former glass as Toso poured the entire salt shakers contents into it. Then what happened next was furtherly odd. As Toso's tentacles formed a barrier of sorts cutting him off from the visions of Unki, Shiro, and the rest of the patrons. What followed were the sounds of what could only be assumed a primal if not vicious devouring and swallowing. When Shiro had finally got his question out the tentacle barrier parted to reveal every single shrimp devastated and the cocktail sauce dripping as though it were blood. It was essentially a cooked shrimp genocide with no survivors. Toso's face however was clean and bore the same blank expression as if nothing had happened.
Taking the provided napkins he began the meticulous work of cleaning the sauce off his tentacles as he answered Shiro's question. "My Bloop, Well if I have to tell there wasn't much place left to go after my family murdered our entire clan in cold blood. Father and mother opted to go rogue abandoning me. My sister became a woman of the night whilst I decided what better way to fulfill my bloodlust without the fear of pursuit by enlisting myself as a Shinobi. Bloop." Not an ounce of context was present in his voice as usual. But when he finished cleaning the last of the cocktail sauce from his tentacles they withdrew. "Bloop only kidding of course. Bloop bloop bloop." The squid would laugh despite the fact how wholly serious he had sounded.
"Bloop. It was at my father's suggestion. My clan is broken up into several coastal villages one of which my family governs bloop. After beating me consistently in combat he suggested I go venture to attain greater strength so that I may prove myself a better successor to inherit his dojo and the village we lived in itself. Bloop. I expressed of course that this didn't interest me and that simply I sought to do good for others and pursue my artistic career bloop. He was none too happy about it bloop. Though my mother convinced him to let me do as I wish. Ah, and now they want me to come home and settle down because the life of a Shinobi is too dangerous. Bloop. It seemed Toso's pursuits were absent of any gritty backstory. He had a loving and living family, he wasn't exiled, his village wasn't ravaged by a bunch of ravenous were-rabbits his backstory and why he decided to become a shinobi was all rather well bland. A simple man simply wanting to get stronger for the sake of serving others with a hobby. At least...this is what was to be believed as there was still that faint 'seed of doubt' from his 'joke'. His longwinded answer would conclude thusly with the squid again drinking from a pitcher of salt infused water.

A sliced boiled egg beside cooked daikon, tofu, stringy kelp, roasted fish cake, and a few skewed beef tendons all happily sat in broth pool. After briefly ogling the bowl which was carefully placed before her Unki would try to dismiss her hair over her shoulder. She was typically very good about keeping unnecessary blonde strands out of her was. Taking the extra care to watch out for her hair was the cost for its length. Then happily breaking a pair of chopsticks, thanking whomever was listening for the meal, Unki then begins the artful dissection for the first taste of her favorite ingredients before the others. Her oden would have otherwise been perfect if not for missing either mushrooms or octopi tentacle. Unki would go about taking her time to enjoy her meal. Impatience streaks can't and won't interfere with lunch, even if she's ever the one to finish first, a bit of learning has taught her to wait politely before vaulting off to a new activity.
She was beginning to lose hold on a sliced egg as she listened to Shiro's question. Letting go of the egg, Unki admits a silent defeat and listens to Toso's input. It was nice to hear that there was so far something relate-able. Sorta. Toso seems to get to do as he wishes and it wouldn't be until Shiro's answer would she get to piece if "one's free will" was a common denominator. Then again, it would be a little hard to go into the job against one's own wishes, right?

Oddly enough it was Toso who spoke up first amid the bestial sounds of feasting, which Shiro found quite humorous given his normally reserved personality. Though the joke he made was in exceptionally poor taste given Shiro's past which caused him to frown deeply shooting a glare at the man before he amended his statement. When he said his actual reason, it was one that Shiro could empathize with, along with Unki's. In truth he was almost jealous of the two for their histories. He had long desired what they both had and wondered if they took it for granted like most did.
Out of respect for the two and the atmosphere of the conversation he kept quiet about his own reasoning for becoming a member of the village. Instead he nodded simply,"Interesting, thank you both for sharing." Returning his attention back to his food he finished his remaining steak strips and shrimp pieces in short order before setting a small fold of ryo onto the table for the tip and the bill. Rising to his feet he tossed his shirt over his shoulder and dipped his head to the two,"Miss Amano, Toso, its been a pleasure talking with and meeting you respectively. If either of you would like to share a meal with me again or simply talk please seek me out. Your both good company, though if you will excuse me there are some things I have to attend to."
With that he leapt over the railing and down onto the floor below with a thump. Adjusting his coat he pushed open the door and headed out.

Toso would say providing Unki with a withdrawn but still pleasant smile before looking back to his now barren plate almost in dismay. "It's a shame a victor was never decided for our little spar bloop. I had a decisive finishing blow at the ready of course before all of that switching happened bloop. Toso would begin what seemed like a meticulous clean up process. It was ultimately unnecessary but he slowly began to gather both shiro's dishes and his own whilst delicately organizing the silverware on the plates to be picked up in some sort of strange foreign ritualistic manner.
"Unk-nē. Father's who would simply marry off their daughters to someone they hardly know, are the worst." It was odd. Not just Toso's organizing of the left overs and dinnerware but the statement had something off. Not a single bloop was uttered. "Unk-nē, never settle. Marry someone whom you truly know, devote yourself to them but never bend to their whims, there can be only be one true love...and today I've found mine." Toso would then turn to face Unki as a glint and her reflection came off his glasses.The squid would then lean in close, the coats top deviating for the girl who may or may not have still had her mouth full. His arms and chest reached outwards getting closer slowly...closer still...until...it completely deviated to the right of Unki's plate grabbing and later revealing an escapee shrimp from Toso's plate. Which was then popped into his mouth with a bloop and Toso immediately withdrawing in what seemed like a brief second of bliss as his body bobbed up and down momentarily. "Bloop, there is nothing else comparable this is true love incarnate bloop!"
Readjusting his glasses after having enjoyed the tantalizing taste of his true love he stood to push in his chair. Realizing his coat had come undone he rebuttoned it once more "Well, bloop. It truly was an enjoyable time bloop. Unless you've a wanting to shoot the breeze bloop. I would be incorrigible if I were to leave a lady so suddenly after having a meal and without a proper goodbye bloop." One of Toso's tentacles was behaving oddly when he said the words 'proper goodbye' it shook. If it had a spine it looked as if a chill had run through it. But then it stood tentatively waiting for something at the ready, as if a snake preparing to strike at its prey or something similar.

"Thank you again!"Unki would call as Shiro departs over the railing. It seems sudden that Shiro would leave so soon, but best not to forget his previous explanation of a busy scheduled. It felt off,though, that Shiro had forgone the opportunity to share his story. A glimpse in her imagination of the image branded over his muscles came and went.
She started a nibble into her last roll of roasted fishcake when reopened talk of their spar and his readied "finishing blow". Sounds like he could've been a step-ahead of her and anticipated the rise of a second sun. She could've gotten a front-row experience to see how Squid-Toso could've wiggled out of the heat.Foo.
A smile curls. Unki was daring herself to ask what his next move could've been but the thought of a surprise would be much more exciting. After a good deal of training, Unki couldn't see why a second spar wouldn't be in their future! Her bowl was clear of its boiled, roasted, and skewered goodies. The last skewer of beef tendon was in her hand but then moved to the grip of her teeth when she finally caught onto Toso's maneuvering of the dishware.
Her hand was beginning to wedge under the bowl to add onto the collection.
However unsure and un-moving at first, but the closer he and his coat came, the Unki would began to lean backwards in her seat. Her sights shifting quickly between his advancing, awkward, distance and below to the beef tendon on her mouth. Her shoulders were beginning to tense. This isn't some sort of stake of challenge, is it? Some unusual, somewhat intimidating, stare-down to instate another fight. Here? Hold on, now, he was just mentioning chasing one's desires for meaningful love. Unki worried she may have struck something weird with her earlier bribe of shrimp and built some equally strange- oh. No. Just a shrimp! Her shoulders settle and the rapid race of thinking stopped. Unki grabs the skewer and carries on as planed after a dainty dab with a napkin to clean her mouth of daishi broth. A final and sufficient nom onto the last piece of meat would keep her quiet. It was funny, really. Toso looks so happy over a piece of shrimp.
To hear the opinion of someone who declines to the on the receiving end of a marriage deal was a first. To be presented as a gift or, more likely, as an agreement token wasn't a pleasant thought to Unki. Never has been. To think, if she passed up on handling all those fish in a storming fit of disgust one by-gone summer, she wouldn't be here. A humming giggle would accompany her smile as she began to tidy up her place.
She would stand, push in her seat, and re-fluff her fringes with two fingers. "I'm glad you stuck around and didn't leave on the fly." She continues with a skip to the stair case. She spun, tilts some sideways; " I think i'll follow through with my hope for some work!" A look back at Toso and the wriggly appendage still and stuck. The girl wouldn't openly admit to being a little bit spooked out by his tentacles but they made more sense since to her since their spar. Unki stretched her arm out. It was angled a low some, as if the tentacle was expecting an odd hand-to-limb'shake. Her hand was flat and angled lower some. Not sure what would happen next. Handshake? Limb-quiver? There was the likelihood Unki would be seeing more of Toso. Shiro too! So, what time was better at trying to be sociable than the first- se- third time around. "Nothing scorching on it this time, I promise."

Unki if she hadn't closed her eyes would have seen the snake like limb zero in and attempt a roundabout grab if not constriction of her right breast. The perverse appendage would have been successful if not for Toso himself grabbing it with his physical hand causing it to shake violently. Toso's other two tentacles would thusly manifest themselves and what occurred after was something that of a fierce battle between snakes. As the two were walling off and attempting to detain the third by coiling around it as it seemed bound determined to succeed in its mission.
While this awkward dance of death between tentacles occurred Toso's face as always showed signs of being hardly bothered in the slightest as if what was occurring in it's entirety was perfectly normal. "Ah, that's right bloop. As I was told by Miko your customs are different here. Bloop. My father had educated me that a proper farewell to a woman of whom you had just shared a meal with was to tenderly show their chest some love as he put it. Apologies. Bloop. Try not to mind them." It was clear now that the tentacles were the essential personification of Toso's inner turmoils of following his father's teachings and or following whatever this Miko individual had told him otherwise. Unki may have been able to piece it together now but what the man didn't expose in his facial features he exposed in the behaviors of his tentacles.
The air was indeed still a tense one but the squid seemed immune as he reached out with a normal hand this time creeping out from beneath his sleeves but what Unki received wasn't a handshake it was a firm clutch. The clutch most often used to signify brotherhood or manliness among peers. This was further accentuated as Toso took the stride forward matching shoulders side by side with Unki all while his tentacles continued their brawl above her. "Here's to fruitful ventures yes bloop!" Toso would then let go and begin his penguin-esque travels toward the exit. His tentacles fighting along the way while people watched in confusion or intrigue. It seemed clear despite Toso's residence in Kumogakure, and the story he had told of having a 'normal' family, there were still some cultural differences and ways of upbringing that were far from normal. She froze. Her expression was static and stuck in a previously formed smile. Now, though, just not sure how to react to the erratic tentacle's antics. At least his own unpleasant behavior was timely ceased. Toso's hold on her outstretched hand and the 'matching' of shoulders was, for a lack of a better word, pleasant and straightforward.
