Shun shrugged off that feeling and just began to mix the things together. It seemed to be working out alright.

Shun had begun to carefully pour some more things in, but someone besides him had knocked into him, causing him to mess up. Slowly, he turned towards Hel and eyed her warily.

A memory potion seemed like a good place to start, even if Taima hadn't come here for that; it was, at the very least, more useful than something dumb and pointless like a love potion. It was practical, yes, and it would almost definitely come in handy. Taima chose some clay from a golem to use as a base, then took her time considering what to use next. After finally settling on a small handful of kirinni bones and a purple hair from a kitsune's tail, she set about mixing it up. Unfortunately, doing such delicate work in a classroom full of people meant that people were bound to get in each others' way. Taima glared disapprovingly as the person next to her bumped her arm, causing some of her ingredients to spill over.

And such, since Shun was still eyeing Hel, he ended up putting the wrong thing into his mixture. He realized this when it was too late, unfortunately, causing him to curse under his breath. Perhaps it would still be salvageable.

Taima managed to get the ingredients into the cauldron without further incident, then set about carefully raising the heat to the temperature Professor Z had indicated.

Kettil was awaiting an answer from Freya but meanwhile he was dutifully attending to his potion. He supposed whether or not she was interested in a wager it would be alright.

...This was a class after all. Should do things for the sake of ... learning...?

...Boring.

Delicately he put in more things for the potion, it seemed to be going better.

When Zel managed to produce her nickname, Agsil grinned, nodding her head. One less syllable than her proper name, but if someone could recall it months later--or at least he did a good job of coming up with it relatively quickly--she supposed it would be easier to just introduce herself that way continuously. "Correct. Good memory." The demon was moving forward with introductions, and her violet eyes turned down to the kitsune with a small incline of her head. Before she could properly greet him though, Zel leaned back, and produced a 'request' that had her lips pursed and tail flicking as she visibly tried to smother a laugh. Regardless of his intent with the statement, Agsil showed no discomfort with the accusation.

Her kind did eat the 'cute and fluffy' now and again. Hers was hardly alone in this, though she gave him a fanged grin. "No reason to fret for your partner. I only dine on cute and fluffy thieves after my collection." To Tavi, however, she gave a playful wink as she said this. She had no desire to distress the boil, and hoped he'd take the display as the intended show of this.

As easily as the playful mood came, it slithered right on out. The dragon coiled, back stiffening as the night hag greeted her with that name. Really, she had no problem with the ghoul--wasn't she the one who hung around Spinar?--but she had to call her that... "Rosy, always nice to see you," she began, giving a wincing smile in an attempt at shoving down her disgust at the nickname. "Please... don't use that name on me, if you don't mind. It is... not one I'm fond of..." Agsilved or Agsil. Those were the only options she allotted. If someone couldn't pronounce those two or three syllable names, then it wasn't her fault what might come out of her mouth in response. It was at least her previous encounters with Rosy that kept her in the more civil mode in this case.

As the trio beside her apparently were forming a group, Agsil's attention went to the front of the class, settling in to listen to the professor's instructions as he billowed in. Interest peaked at hearing their assignment for the day, she quickly gathered her ingredients. The dragon scales she avidly avoided--something felt just too weird even looking at them up on the table like that.

Back at her table--and somewhat relieved to see they'd be more working separately rather than groups--she began to heat the would-be potion and set to work adding her ingredients. Keeping her arm steady was easy enough... or at least, would have been, had someone not just bumped into her. The dragon gave the offender an icy look.

Hound's Tooth. A sharp canine that might cut you if you're not careful. Also there are cracks in several of them.
Hair from the tail of a 9-tailed Kitsune. An odd purple in color, though they tend to also be yellow occasionally.

90 degrees - 5 = 85 degrees

The person beside you accidentally knocks into you, jostling your arm and making you spill. Dammit. -5 degrees.

Fire, however, wasn't something Taima was familiar with using in any kind of cooking-related context. She was a notoriously terrible cook, probably because she liked to eat her food raw--unless it came from the creepateria--and so instead of turning the heat up, she accidentally turned it down.

Fortunately, turning the fire on her burner too low was a mistake Taima easily corrected by twisting the knob the other way. The cauldron felt a little warmer, so Taima thought that she was probably on the right track.

Perhaps it was a good thing she didn't care as much about her attire that day. More blotches of liquid were joining the previous batch, and Agsil wasn't sure what would do more damage: ink, or her concoction? At least she managed to get some of the ingredients in this time.

His reaction? Frantic cursing until it managed to cool down. At least he wasn't stupid enough try and scoop up the essence of whatever it was bubbling over the edge.

Gloved hands or not it probably would have been unpleasant to touch.

Now that the cauldron was starting to approach the optimal temperature, Taima felt that it was okay to start adding some more of the ingredients. She did so slowly and carefully, just to be on the safe side.

Violet irises stared uneasily as the three ingredients bubbled and swirled together. Her chin rested almost on the table, watching the potion as she waited to see if it'd... well. She wasn't sure. Explode? Burst into flames? It was likely a bonus for her to be wearing gloves--less chance of her dripping some ink in by accident. That probably wouldn't lead to promising results.
