Jericho tilted his head as he stood by on the web, listening to their instructor. Defense. Well, that could be pretty useful, he supposed. Granted, the scales he had in his true form were pretty good for defense as is. That wasn't to say how things were in his more humanoid state, however. He tucked his wings back tightly, not wanting to accidentally knock someone off the web with them.

"Hey there big guy," he greeted the large spider that was sent to accompany him. He looked the critter over, then turned towards the dummy. Naturally, steel would make the best armor. He grabbed the metal. Carefully, he looked around, then drew in a deep breath.

Soon, flames were spurt out from his mouth, down towards the steel chunk in his hands. The metal began to glow red from the heat before too long. While he had the chance, he began to try and mold it, making a sort of makeshift plate. He used another chunk of metal as a hammer, smacking and bending it further, causing a rather loud clang with each strike.

When the metal seemed to cool on its own, he tried to fit it onto the dummy.

"Perfect. Now give it your best shot. I dare you."

Sure enough, the spider did just that. It managed to knock aside the armor with one blow.

The dragon frowned a bit. Okay, he was going to need to make a few adjustments to the steel, but he was pretty sure he had the right idea, here.

Lock was apparently horrible at making leather armor. For a moment he considered switching (the steel did look very tempting, however heavy. Maybe there was secretly some good to be had in spiderwebs?) but he had already come this far and if he started over he probably wouldn't finish before the class was over.

So begrudgingly, he turned back to his dummy and tried again.

And failed again.

Aaaaand he failed again.

Lock took a peek over at others' work to see if he was doing something wrong. Thankfully, everyone else seemed to be struggling as much as he was. He saw broken fragments of armor stitched across dummies in the same frantic way he had been. It was nice to know he wasn't alone at least.

More leather. More failure.

"Hold on!" he told the spider, who was already trigger happy by this point and ready to take down his armor before he'd even repaired it. "Patience."

Voodoo looked on, amused.

The deer ghoul was grateful for the ride to be done. And for the fact that AJ was with her during such a trip. But now it was time to do what they're teacher had instructed of them.

Damaris tried to channel her focus on keeping her legs from shaking after being helped off of their spider mount. She even watched as AJ thanked their arachnid companions with a light pat.

Her hands scrunched up to her body as she faced her own spider helper and hesitated in doing the same. So she fell on a more familiar form of giving her own gratitude. The ghoul quickly straightened out her shirt and bent her body in a bow. Her father had taught her much of her manners so, since she couldn't offer a more physical thanks, this would hopefully work...?

A short series of clicks met her ears before she chanced a look up from her bow and saw the the creature had bent it's legs in a returning bow. The deer ghoul blinked a few times before her features gave away to a pleasant smile and a slightly softer look.

She moved herself to stand beside the arachnid creature as it and the one closest to AJ began weaving the clothes they were to use for their dummies. Thank Jack there were a couple of ones unused next to one another.

It didn't take too long for the web-like clothes to be constructed. Her spider companion handed it over with ease while she tried her hardest to place her hands in a way that it caught the web-threaded fabric without much trouble for her. The material was soft but strong, after testing it by pulling on the ends to test it. Very interesting!

"Thank you... Ummm... Spider... Friend...?" She didn't know what to call them so she hoped that was alright. Said arachnid friend clicked a few times and mimicked the bow from before.

It put her at ease to know that they were using a form she was familiar with as she smiled again before trotting over and placing the clothe over her own dummy. She could hope for the best but she would only know if the fabric would hold up to the strength of her eight-legged ward.

"Okay, I think it's on!" She announced to the spider as it sided up beside her. The Terron moved away a bit to give the spider some room.

Her large doe-like eyes watched as the spider reared up on four of it's eight legs and attacked the dummy with the other four, the legs jabbing into the dummy with ease. A light frown replaced her smile but she couldn't give up just yet. Not since she had received so much help!

Well... Suppose it was time to try again...

"Could I... T-trouble you for another?" She was thankful to have such a forgiving arachnid companion as she was weaved another.

And, once again, it failed... These spiders sure were strong!

One more time and his armor seemed to make it out. Good too, because he was running out of leather.

Seeing as his task was done, he gave the spider a pat (very useful- high offense skills, Lock liked that) and headed back to the web.

Another try down...

Damaris knew she should feel too down but it was hard when the odds seemed to be against her.

Her companion seemed to be okay with it as she was supplied with another sheet of webbed clothe.

With one more sheet on the dummy, it seemed another was down for the count.

Damaris felt a light tapping against her hoof and she smiled as the spider tried to sort of comfort her. "Thank you... I'll keep trying."

"I-I'm really sorry...!" She watched another sheet of webbing get thoroughly wrecked on the dummy.

The arachnid tapped against her hoof a bit more which gave her a little bit of confidence. Who knew a spider would help her during a class?

Shun eyed Tajana, furrowing his brow in thought. It seemed that she was familiar with Amrita. Hel's warning to him about the other Alumni from awhile back was still fairly fresh in his mind, but there wasn't much he could do about it for now other than to observe. He folded his arms over his chest, listening to what they had to do to begin.

Personally, he preferred to have a good offense, and take out the opposition before they had a chance to really retaliate. Or just... not get hit at all. It wasn't something that could always be done, though.

Steel, while sturdy, was also heavy. For those who weren't really trained in it, movement would likely be hindered. His personal fighting style was far too mobile to be able to rely on that. Silk was on the other end of the spectrum. He had heard stories of how spider silk was strong as hell, but he wasn't quite certain how much of that was really true.

Leather seemed like a pretty good medium. It wouldn't provide as much protection as metal, but it would do well enough to aid against glancing blows and the like. The reaper went ahead and grabbed some of that, then moved on towards his dummy. Carefully, he looked it over, then went on to outfit it. He placed some over the torso, then tried to see if he could guard the throat at all as well.

He took a step back, then looked at the giant spider that was waiting to strike. A grunt, along with a curt nod was given, signalling it to go ahead and attack.

The spider launched itself at the dummy, and managed to pierce straight through the leather.

Taking the steel back, Jericho heated it once more and started to bang around, trying to adjust the armor. He was making quite a noisy clamor in doing so. After making those adjustments, he set it back onto a new dummy.

"Hm."

No, he wasn't quite satisfied with it yet. It was missing something. Then, a spark of an idea popped into mind. He rushed back to fetch some more metal, then began to bang it into shape. It took him a little longer, but he was able to make a rather crude and rudimentary helmet for the dummy this way. Once that had been shaped, he carefully set it on top of the target, then stepped back, looking rather proud of his handiwork.

"Okay. Now try."

Sure enough, this time around, the spider wasn't able to completely pierce through the dummy's defenses. The steel was a bit dented from the strike, but the dummy had not been completely demolished.

"Hah! I knew it. Hey, Tajana! Check this out!" he called out to the Dryder. He wanted to show off his armor.
