With so many dragonets suddenly making their entrances on the sands, Karone had no choice but to start moving, and fast. He happened to be nearby the Sun and Star as they hatched, and paused. They were the first two that he had met during the touching, and he’d thought them both grand. Then the Sun began to move in his direction. He would wait to see if the blue was interested him or not before he’d get out of the way.
Turned out he didn’t really have a choice in the matter – the Fool bounded past him to play with the Sun, and Karone took a green tail to the knee as she went by. His feet went out from under him and he hit the sand on his hip and elbow. His leg didn’t hurt too badly, but the wind had been knocked out of him. He started to worm his way backwards, trying to get clear of the danger. He could have used a little help.
--------
Lenix watched the antics of the newborn dragons with excitement, joy, and a healthy dose of caution. The Sun egg and its companion the Star both hatched simultaneously, and his heart jumped into his throat. The Sun had been such a lovely egg.
His attention was snatched away by the large, dark shape of the brown Devil as it entered the crowd, haughtily shoving or snapping at candidates. That was one egg he hadn't been able to meet at the touching. As it neared him, he drew in a deep breath. He wasn’t sure how he’d respond if it snapped at him.

Vitre
And NOW there were even more eggs hatching! Vitre was over the moon, over BOTH moons at the sight of another blue and green, and so sweet to each other. He'd told Nebbi that he'd imagine her on a gold and him on a bronze, but those ones...just so friendly and kind with each other. He hoped they went to best friends, just like him and Nebbi. That'd be the right match he was sure! And of course the brown!! The biggest hatchling yet, and terribly dark colored too. Vitre had been nowhere near the weyr on touching day, and despite his ear for gossip, had heard nothing of any bad eggs. That sort of news just didn't trickle so far down the chain. He had no idea of the interest and tension the little brown might stir up, but he did notice it seemed to be in a bit of a hurry. Pushing was rude, but wouldn't he be excited too? "Go find them!" He called to all the hatchlings below, his voice mingling with the continuous murmur of the crowds to be more or less lost long before reaching anywhere near the babes below.
In the next seat his mother reached out a hand, gently tugging the back of her son's tunic to urge him to sit back down. Honestly, the way the boy kept leaping up! Thankfully none of the riders or holders around seemed bothered by his enthusiasm. He grumbled, of course, being forced to sit, but he could still see the babies and most of the candidates. That was enough...for now. His mother, of course, had no doubt that he'd be back on his feet the minute any of them did anything else interesting.
V'mel
A green went next, the one that'd been rolled along. That was good at least. He'd been vaguely worried the thing'd be sick or stumble and hurt itself after being played with like a child's toy ball, but no. Stern enough stuff, it seemed. But there was no time to wait on that one to come over when the first of their new family was already at his feet. "What's your name, boy?" He growled, brows furrowing as he looked him over. Riagan, he knew, but he wanted his rider name. "And I'll have his, too." A finger thrust towards the blue beside him. "Then, you're going to take him back there, sit quietly, and feed him. Pick a bucket—any bucket—and a knife. Chop up the meat small enough that it's bite-sized, and for Faranth's sake don't cut off a finger in the process. You made it off the sands untouched, let's keep it that way. Once the bucket's empty, he'll want more, but don't give it. If this goes long enough, we'll get you more, but one's good for now."
Ellain meanwhile had made her own way over, and either heard his instructions or been taught what to do, as she got right to work feeding her green. He'd make a point of getting that one's name if his assistants didn't, as she'd gone and snuck past him. For now though his eyes went back to the frankly undisciplined display the other green was putting on. A hassle. that one would be.
Uridith
The gold for her part was still radiant with joy at all her hatchlings moving about. When Devil split too, she could find no anger with her youngest, brownest child. He'd given the others grief, but he was still hers, and still precious. She watched him go with quiet interest, but made no move to interrupt or intervene. She trusted the little brown, and dared not risk him by doing more than humming a gentle, loving note his way, as she had with all the rest. Soon he would belong to someone, and it was better to let him go find them than risk any sort of confusion or rage that could lead to blood and between. A mother can't help but love her babies after all.

Isilje
Seeing the Impressions made her smile, even as more hatchlings began to crack from their shells. Oh, how delighted she was that so many were on the sands! In with the other girls, the young woman craned her neck to watch the Green and the Blue tumbling and flailing about, laughing brightly at all of their energy, before she relaxed back in to her place. They were so happy, and it made her glad to see it.

Shiloh
Still in her own spot, she'd taken to studying every hatchling, assessing them as they had her. There was a new pair on the sands...and then the egg that had caused so much trouble burst from its shell. It was a brown, large, lovely, and bullying people as it made its way through. The flailing hatchlings were glanced at with bemusement as she turned her eyes to the other dragonets. So much left to be done.

Alumet
Ah, but weren't they all the most lovely? Her smile curled up as she leaned on Cahlusi, fingers twining in his robes to watch the way that the hatchlings played. Greens, Blues, and now...Oh, that brown. Wasn't he lovely, as he stalked through the candidates like a King. Beautiful little creature~. Grinning her wicked grin, she had to wonder idly at who he might find for himself, "Oh, but he's going to be a delightful one~." Her version of delightful, and another's, might be rather different.

E'ion
Ah, shards, but he was worried. One mauling, flailing dragonets...it was nothing new, but it was bad. He moved to Amila, fingers moving to touch the girl's brow with concern as he looked her over, "Come with me dear. We're going to get you to the healers." The greenrider was sure of himself, minding ever the two that were tumbling, the brown, and the ever watchful eyes of the parents, "How are you feeling."

Even as the Devil Egg hatched, the golden Empress egg began to shake. Not tremble, not rock, but full on shake, like an avalanche in the mountains. The Death Egg wobbled in place, beginning to move in earnest, though seemingly not so swiftly as its sibling. When the little Brown made his way onto the sands, a crack appeared in the Empress Egg's shell. Then, another. Then another. A small hole developed in the egg, out of which a whirling red eye peered. What. Was. He. Doing? The dragonet within gave a shake and flung its head back so that the top of the shell shattered, revealing a supple, golden hide... a peek of a very irate little Golden dragon!

The hatching grounds were even more active than they had been for the touching. Faren had expected that, but it always surprised her just how different the two events could be. So, two impressions now, the fool was playing with the Sun, the Star was just watching, the new brown Devil was strutting around like he possessed all, and the indignant gold was glaring after him like he'd made some huge offense.
Farensil couldn't help the big grin and soft laugh that escaped. "Welcome to the party, guys!" She sidestepped out of the way of the brown youth, tugging her new friend along to keep her out of his way. She showed no cowing for his snaps, just kept out of his way with a smile. Bad or not, it was his hatching day, and he was due just as much respect as everyone else! She turned a smile over at the new gold, too. She was barely controlling the welcoming song in her mind, and would probably wind up humming it very shortly.

Oh, uh, oh dear. Ichta wasn't the only one to avert her eyes from the briefly bare-chested Goran, and Nadry's cheeks found a similar shade of red as it was suddenly Very Important to look over at the eggs, yes. Not that it was anything she'd never seen, she had brothers after all, but anyone else was another kettle of fish entirely. There was, at least, plenty else to look at, with more dragonets breaking free.
Including the one from the red egg, and he looked angry. Very angry. And yet...he wasn't hurting anyone. Still, she very definitely did not like that one and would be perfectly happy if it stayed very far away from their little group. Another egg cracked and immediately drew attention, and rightfully so: the gold. Still, her eyes wandered back to the Tower. There had been no movement from it yet, so far as she could tell.
Please, she wished at it. Whatever it ultimately did, it needed to hatch. She needed to know.

-_Wish of Tevarae_- Sorry for being slow! I'm not running a Hatching or anything, right?
Cahlusi The boy kept near to his sister, watching as more and more eggs started to break shell. More dragonets meant more risk, and he wasn't about to let his sister get mauled. So far, though, nobody seemed too terribly hurt, except Amila. And what a shame at that, to happen so early.
"Delightful and a handful, I bet," he added with a laugh. Still, his eyes lingered on the strapping brown. That egg had caused such a fuss, he wondered if something would go wrong now that he was out and about? He didn't look happy, but he appreciated that the little creature wasn't out for blood.
There was another green and blue, and "Oh, a gold!" He breathed, nudging his sister. He remembered that egg well. They did have have quite a nice time.
