I heard a kneaded eraser leaves no stuff that a usual eraser does. o 3o

I use these pens for inking. Mostly for lineart. Saves a HUGE hassle for doing lineart on the comp. -____-

But I can't wait till I get my tablet. <33

I'd be wary if I were you...
(is this topic exscused from the normal 'Post an image!' rule? O_o)
Personally, I like to use sakura Micron pens to do inking, and they come in various sizes and are fairly cheap by art standards (around $2.00- $3.00 for extra fine. ) and I am quite fond of the 10 and 3 sizes myself. 3nodding the only problem I see with them is that you cna go through around two or three a year if you ink your drawings often, and if your in the middle of inking something while your pen runs out.....welll, that can be alot of trouble. But other than that I highly suggest 'em!

trad medium :

- mechanical pencil 0.7 or HB pencil + eraser for highlight :p
- drawing with a brush + china ink can be fun too X3 (especially with a chineese brush biggrin !!!)
- for the colouring i mainly use tria markers or colour pencils D: but watercolor seems to be fun too xD !!!

i usually draw on watercolor paper (more heavy than printer paper wink ) or on Bristol (like 220g/m² paper, whiteness, grainless = 4laugh heart )

I like where we are,
When we drive, in your car
I like where we are.... Here

Cause our lips, can touch
And our cheeks, can brush
Our lips can touch here

Well you are the one the one that lies close to me
Whisper's hello I miss you quite terribly
I fell in love, in love with you suddenly
Now there's no place else I could be but here in your arms
--------------------------------------

Ugh.
I hate my own ignorance.
I'm a freshman in Highschool, and my art teacher blew my mind our the water when he started talking about medias.
=_=;;
I just use HB pencils and for inking.....Well if I can find a pen that works around my house I'll stick with that.

----------------------------------------
Well you are the one the one that lies close to me
Whisper's hello I miss you, I miss you
I fell in love, in love with you suddenly
Now there's no place else I could be but here in your arms

I like where you sleep,
When you sleep, next to me.
I like where you sleep... here
Cause our lips, can touch
And our cheeks, can brush
Our lips can touch here

Only so many people know wherer to get art supplies that are just awesome for american artist. Well, here is a list of some of the things that most people (especially beginners) need to know about:

You can get all of these supplies from one type of brand: Deleter
Which is the main brand that KNOCK (my manga-ka group) uses.
You can see some of my random artwork using these supplies at:
http://www.jonetsuitamashii.deviantart.com

Manga Paper:
For Proffesional/Commercial Publishing use Size B4
For Doujinshi use A4 or B5
For Color Illustrations, Kent Paper seems to be the best

Pen Nibs:
For fine lines: Maru (great for small details such as hands and hair. I use this nib for most of my work, but they are much more expensive)
For even lines: Saji (I use these for illustrations, but you can use these with pressure if you want uneven and smooth lines)
For thick lines: G-Nib (great for action scenes and manga realism)

Pencils:
I use Zebra mechanical pencils, but for large drawings, use standard pencils (maybe F, HB, or 2B)

Ink:
I use Sumi (indian ink) But there is a large variety of inks. For color illustrations, make sure that you use water proof and non-water solluable (if that is spelled right xD)

Screentone:
There is a LARGE amount of different types of tone you can use. But if you want to save your money... use digital tones. I use Deleter ComicWorks. There are also many different brands, but that all comes from experience.

Coloring:
I just started using Prismacolor pencils, but pencils are harder to use than markers. But if you are going to use pencils, make sure that you add LIGHT layers, for that can be a hassle to erase. And blend every now and then. With markers, they are softer, and tend to be expensive, but DON'T get Prismacolor makers. You may be better off with Neopiko or Copic. I am trying to get some Neopiko markers, but McDonalds doesn't pay too much xD;!!

Well, this is just BASIC, so I hope this helps the inspired artist in you!

where can you mostly buy all these supplies i want to buy the good one's so my art work will be much better.I bought this one uniball signo pen at this japanese/anime store, and it works good but i'm al most out and i only bought one. emo

I use whatever i find, and try to get the best affect:

Cheap mechanical pencils ( 10 for 50 cents sweatdrop yeah........... I'm a poor mexican.)
Lined paper for sketches
Computer/ printer paper
Roseart and Crayola coloring pencils
Whatever pens I can find ( I got pen nibs, but it's hard to ink something with a feather and dragon's blood [red] ink)
MY FINGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like to shade. blaugh

There's a computer program that sounds awesome but i never got a chance to try it out: Manga Studio 5.0. The newer version allows you to make 2d animation movies, Shading and color fillings and to make custom animations. I wish I had internet money

For my Anime drawings I like to use:
2H Pencil
Steadler .5 Mechanical Pencil
Sakura Micron Multiliners
Copic Multiliners
Copic Markers
Bristol Paper
Kneeded eraser
Nylon Eraser
Circle Templates
Prismacolor Pencils

Your fine with using Sakura or Copic Multiliners. The only thing that annoys me is that Sakura Micron Pens take longer to dry if you plan on using marker on them. They take even longer on Bristol paper. So if you can get your hands on them get the Copic Multiliners. I want to try Neopiko one day also. I have heared similar things from both Neopiko and Copic together. I love Copic, so why not try Neopiko I say.

For Traditional art I use:
Acrylic Paint
Watercolor Paing
Pendils ranging from 4H to 8B
Oil Pastels (cheap ones XD)
Recomended paper for art style (pastel paper, watercolor paper, etc.)

Thats all I can think of off of my head. I do a lot of different styles of art. Its fun and a great thing to do in your free time. Especially when your with your special person. They like to watch you be creative. They're is something special about someone when they find their muse.

COPIC and Prismacolor pencils are the way to go, man. COPIC markers are very reliable and the colors are beautiful, and Prismacolor pencils are unbeatably awesome. Their markers, however, suck like monkeys.

Actually it is really smart to but used COPIC markers. Even if the colors are mixed wrong and the nib is messed up, it will save you some money. Ebay might help some of you afford Copic markers. I really want to do it, but I'm not allowed to order anything off of the internet. Now I just have to constantly save like $6.50 to buy one skin tone. I need HAIR tones!!! XP

Ugh. XP I just tried doing lines today with a thin sharpie. xDD Idiotic, I know, but I normally don't ink lines, and when I do, I just find whatever I can. It screwed up the drawing. xDDD

Can you find this stuff at craft/art stores? I don't trust myself much with coloring, but I think I'll try out the Prismacolor pencils...I looked up Copic markers...and they're just a LITTLE bit expensive... ^^;

First off just get some Crayola colored pencils for starts. I REALLY regret buying my 24-pack of prismas, about 35 bucks wasted when a 50-pack of Crayolas is $7.50 or thereabouts. With colored pencils your art doesn't suffer a lot if you don't want to dish out the money. It's not a 'you get what you pay for' situation at all.
My prismas just hated me and hated me. They don't sharpen well at all, no matter what sharpener I try to use. They break CONSTANTLY. When you try to color something lightly you get all those white spots because it picks up paper texture too well.

Crayola colors are just better, IMHO. It's all in the technique and not in the tool. (at least for color pencils. Markers are a diff. story.)

For a good artist who uses all Crayola pencils (and also copic markers) check out http://minichi-01.deviantart.com/ k?
