"Then...why are you mad at me?" Ophelia asked, sounding almost like she was a puppy that had just been kicked.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"You feel useless?" Balthazar raised an eyebrow at her. "Tell me, what am I doing here?" he asked as he leaned back and folded his arms. "Two kings, one with the brains and one with the brawn. Wow, that sounded so much better on paper...You need brains for politics. Kaistern got those. What manual labor is a king going to do? Really. I don't get politics. I don't do politics. Kaistern does all the work while I do what? I'm useless as a king and, as we just proved earlier, useless at cheering you up. I can't even do my job as lover right." he said moving his chin back to his hand and looked back out to the garden.

"You forget that as intelligent and sweet as Kaistern is, he's also very naive and terrible with handling a disaster when it strikes." Ophelia pointed out, slowly approaching Balthazar. "Your strength lies with your intuition and your ability to make the decisions that neither Kaistern nor I ever could. This is a violent and brutal world, no matter what species you are. When it is time for battle and for war, you always know exactly what to do - no matter how much intelligence you claim to lack." With that, Ophelia moved to sit on Balthazar's lap. "As for 'failing as a lover', don't make me laugh. If you were a failure I wouldn't keep coming back to you, would I? I wouldn't come to you when I need help. I wouldn't even talk to you like this, let alone share a bed with you."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

Balthazar's arms instinctively slipped around her waist and held her close. "For a woman with crippling self-esteem problems, you sure know how to give a pep talk." he teased as he hugged her.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I chalk it up to divine irony." Ophelia joked back, quick to reciprocate the hug. "In all seriousness, though, don't ever think that you're useless. Your strength and perserverance are a massive part of what always saves us in the end."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Only if you stop with the useless talk yourself." Balthazar said sticking his tongue out at her.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Jeez, so childish!" Ophelia pouted, not about to promise anything she couldn't deliver. "I won't make any guarantees, but I'll try."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Better than the alternative I guess." Balthazar said with a smile as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Ophelia decided to take a walk through the forest later that day, as she couldn't think of much better to do than lounge lazilly around the garden or to lock the bedroom doors and get...intimate. Not only that, but something about the forest seemed particularly peaceful and bewitching that day.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

It was a shame he didn't come out here that often. He didn't realize how nice it was out in the forest. "Ophelia?" Last Kaistern heard from the servants, Ophelia had wandered off out here, so he was trying to track her down. And with the size of the place, easier said then done. He'd been hoping to sit her down with the doctor (hopefully the last time for a while until the baby was due) and see if her recent transformation had any effect on the baby that they could see.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I'm over here!" Ophelia called out just as she sat herself near a flowing stream, her feet resting in the calm waters as they gently flowed around her feet. A couple vibrantly colored butterflies flew around her, but she payed them no mind.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"What are you doing out here? I'd think the garden would be closer and just as peaceful." Kaistern said with a smile as he sat down beside her.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I don't know. I just felt drawn here all of the sudden." Ophelia lightly leaned against Kaistern. After a moment she let out a joyful sigh. "Plus, if you listen carefully you can hear this strange but beautiful music playing~" No matter how hard Kaistern listened, though, he wouldn't hear much aside from the flowing of water.
